A story that makes no sense goes nowhere and causes one to lose interest quite early in the game; Good clear colorful graphics , decent animation and music are not enough to suck someone into a plot that has no rhyme nor reason and that one, as a result, is not compelled to solve. I find these new fairy-type-tale games more and more absurd, less and less geared on common sense and wit and quite boring since there is no fun in solving them with a decent brain, this one included. The bonus chapter, I must add, is maddening, with such lack of follow through and cleverness:There, hints had to be used to progress since none of the story made any sense and was so chopped up, the plot so ridiculous, it must have been completed in a hurry by a team that wanted to get it over with. "The living mountain" turned out to be an extreme disappointement. Don't buy the special edition, the standard is bad enough! Sorry, this is my opinion. These fairy tales are neither convincing not fun to solve, they remind me of the tale of the little boy that dropped bread crumbs in the woods to find his way back home, bread crumbs that the birds quickly ate, making it impossible for him to find his way home: same problem here, the clues are so senseless, yet the game is very easy as far as puzzles and HO's but the story lacks organisation and intelligence, easy that is until the bonus chapter which made even less sense than the main game thus was harder to follow and solve without help, it made absolutely no sense! I was thrilled when it was all over!

There was no real following in this game, it made no sense at all, no rhyme no reason, i like when you can use at least your deductions skills. Here, no use with those, the plot was all over th place, no good trail, no good sense. Also too much fairy-unrealistic- also too busy backgrounds, too far from any reality to draw one in, also drawn with too many perspective angles so far as well from reality, I like when i feel I am in the town or the scene solving things, i can adapt to the surroundings, not here though where everything is out of proportion and so unreal. Do other adults like these kind of girly girly sceneries? What is this fairy tale trend? I am starting to miss the skeleton, hospital and drab games even they could be reather depressing!!! As far as i am concerned, I feel like i am entering a Barbie fantasy world here and I cannot relate to anything, thus do not want to solve anything since it is so unrealistic to start with. I have played other fairy type games and liked them because the plot was good like "Nearwood", a great game, but this one totally miss the mark I am afraid... Too off the wall in a bad way as far as plot, graphics, style, and colors! Not for me!
I don't recommend this game.

When something like this comes along, I cannot wait to try it, hoping for the best... and then, hopefully, to buy it! My trial was just over and I ran to purchase this gem right away! How refreshing!
First, if any HO's, they are so different, you do not even notice they are HO's which is great as I am so tired of the genre (which also stops the story short, like a commercial would, causing you to lose interest in the plot, especially when there are lots of them!).
So, few HO's: which is great, the graphics are crisp, the story enticing and mysterious, the animation good but most of all, the plot is believable to some extend and makes some sort of connection with reality as opposed to so many that do not!
I do not mind playing the little fairy games (with animals that jump to help you) with my granddaughter, although I am somewhat tired of them already myself (since the magical aspect of them keeps me in a fantasy world that does not compute, where everything is possible and nothing is plausible thus not as interesting to solve, speaking as a human with both feet on the ground, that is), so I must say, after this trial: "nothing like a real plot with real human scenery!" to make you feel like you just came to town to solve a case and are already immersed into it!.
With this new game, although there is a supernatural feel to it, the butterflies and the green goo combination that is, it does not conflict, so far, with the fact that I can pretend effectively to be a hard core detective solving an actual mystery, which is a novelty and more exciting that if i was some fairy princess trying to free my frog prince.
When I fall down a deep broken elevator shaft here, I realize I am stuck in there till I find a way out as I do not like to use the hints, I cannot go back to the past scene because that's it, no arrow back! And I appreciate the fact it feels real, although I must admit, real would mean I now have some broken bones.... but I am satisfied enough with a plot that is fairly believable, hence makes me want to continue because it tries to parallel real life somewhat, at least as much as a game can provide.
I like to play detective when it feels real overall, and this is it! And it does not happen often enough in games, I wish it would as it is so much more believable thus engrossing.
I recommend this new venue and I am running back to it now! Try it! It is great so far!
I recommend this game!

Last week, Big Fish offered us a new game called Violett, I tried it and fell in love at once, I had never played such an original, addictive, challenging, off the wall, not to mention “cutsy” adventure… (which will bring me to this one…)
So I rushed to read the Violett’s critics, very curious because this was so exciting & different from anything else I had ever played, thus was certain to find great applause there, but instead I encountered quite a bit of undeserved negativity, since some players did not have the patience to put their brain to work and got discouraged too fast because even the hints they obviously rely on to kill the challenge were perplexing.
I understand their frustration although I don’t share it since the opposite happened to me, the game challenged me to a point where I could not let it go so I bought it at once.
What I loved about the critics I read regarding Violett (which did not dissuade me from buying it one bit, as I had just fell upon an unusual treasure, knew it, and was not about to let it go), is that they led me to 2 other similar games some players were reminded of when they tried this new one:
“You mean there is more than one of those marvelous and brainy productions???”. I could only hope!
And yes, there was: 2 games I had never heard about before which I went to search for immediately and bought after the free 1 hour trial without an moment of hesitation, 2 more hidden and clever gems I did not know existed!
They were called “SHABAN” and “THE TINY BANG STORY”. Both amazing, as Violett is, games that offer a new refreshing twist to intelligent gaming, require using every bit of grey matter, wit, cleverness, common sense, power of observation and deduction one wishes to devote to solving a plot.
Now That is true gaming to me and until I had started playing all 3, I had no idea of what a real Big Fish challenge was!
I do not know if all 3 games are made by the same DV as I did not pay attention to that yet, and that is not usually my priority, although I will be watching for these guys in the future not to miss further such rare and precious offerings, all I know is that all 3 games are blessed with the same feel, wit, cute originality, cleverness even each is so different and unique.
Give these 3 games more than 1 chance! They deserve to be appreciated to their full potential, I will mention as well that, although they are definitively adult games, my 6 years old granddaughter is quite addicted as well and seems to solve certain tests better than me. She is very smart and has a lot of common sense which you will need for these extremely clever offerings! The graphics are adorable and crisp, the animation very good, the music soothing….
A terrific work out for the brain muscles!…
What more can someone ask for??? I am more than satisfied!

When, very curious about what others had to say, after playing, and pondering on this such amazingly different and refreshing game, for the full demo hour, I felt the sudden urge to search through the criticism that was left today and I was taken aback by all the the negativity expressed by the few that had already given up on it!! It was undeserved as far as I am concerned, but I am aware that we all have different needs of course. I had to jump in right away though, to help raise the level of the approving stars at once, as someone comes up with something amazing and different, intelligent, cute as could be, (but hard as well I agree, and why not?) meant to exercise our grey matter like few others games I have ever played here (but not impossible to solve with some wit and patience), and gets the boot!.
So, there are no hints, or so few: that is because we are supposed to use our brain! Isn't it what the games are for?
Good, with little help, harder to cheat and the game shall be solved with patience and common sense, which so many games do not offer, as this one does!
This is refreshing for a change as too many games, lately, offer so little challenge or too much help, so much so that one is tempted to give up before even trying, especially when the plots resemble each other too much! If a game does not challenge me enough, tests my brain's pride personally and trigger my desire to beat it, I may press on the hint button myself just to get it over with.
We just finished the demo, my 6 years old granddaughter and I, so far: And we will buying it, that I can promise!!
We both want to beat this game in the worse way, this has never happened before, we have never been this compelled brainwise by any game, snobbed by it, ticked off by it, because at times it gets the better of us, all to the credit of the developper!
First I played it for 30 minutes by myself, quite frustrated at times, I have to admit, but not frustrated as wanting to quit, on the contrary, frustrated as wanting to beat it at any cost! The game pressed on all my challenge buttons, incredibly so, I could feel my brain cells tingling as I felt an urge to beat this worthy adversary and continue on, could not wait to pass to the next scene because I knew that, by then, I would have truly earned it!!
After 30 mns, I gave up because i wanted to leave 30 mns for my granddaughter to try it as I feel the money is better spent when we both like a GAME so I waited for my 6 years old pal's return from school and we tackled it together this time. I started it again from the beginning for her. Her brain functions differently than most: in school, she learns things on her own, using different methods than her teacher and arriving at the same result thru improvisation of her own so I could not wait to test her with this and I had a feeling, with her in toe, that we would somewhat conquer the first 2 or 3 scenes in the 30 mns we had left. I was not wrong! I spent 20 mns just trying to tilt the bottle without succeeding when i was alone and she did it in a snap (OR 2)! I had read the comments of the other person who liked the game along with us, and he spend 30 mns trying to get the fly to go into the bottle. My granddaughter did it in 5!
It would have taken me 30 mns or more as well, that is what I mean about a brain that functions differently than most!
She is very smart, but yet she is also a child and had a blast making Violett tumble down the stairs over and over again, she was laughing so hard it was a pleasure!
I recommend this game to anyone that wishes to be challenged, amused by a different kind of cleverness, it is not a child's game but a fun and bizarre adventure for all ages testing one's potential and ressources in overcoming obstacles.
I recommend this game!

Maybe this is yet another story of kidnapping in the woods but if my interest and curiosity continue to be triggered such as they were after i finished the demo, it is an absolute buy for me: the graphics look fine: sure there are some that are even better but if the story is boring, i prefer graphics a bit less perfect with an interesting plot, and this applies. There are a lot of Hidden objects scenes which i am not fond of these days as I have encountered too many over the years but somehow, these were not bad at all and objects were found quickly enough, with a bit of wit, that i did not mind the delay in returning to the game itself. Quite fun and relaxing overall with a spooky atmosphere that was quite entertaining. I hear this is a new developer: Keep it up, this was a lot of fun and I was drawn into the plot at once!
I cannot say that for many games with maybe more bells and whistles (although this one was satisfying enough) but with stories so boring and slow moving that one loses interest before the trial is over.
I cannot wait to buy it, i am intrigued, I will save that little girl, it will be time well spent, my curiosity and interest are aroused which means it is a deserving game as far as i am concerned, fun to play for certain!
I recommend this game!

This game received undeserved hard critics, I was not going to try it because of them and so happy I did! At last something different, so well animated, full of different things to do and, a plus, enjoyable for the whole family, hard enough for the elders and fun enough for the young, and how much fun this was, is! I could not wait to finish the free trial to buy it and express my delight here!
Enchanting in so many ways, and riveting. I cannot wait to play it with my granddaughter.
Whoever criticized this game must have forgotten to remain young at heart no matter their age, but I have, which gives me the ability to be transported in this magical world full of challenges and great ideas and innovations. I do not like HO anymore, they are boring to me today, (too many too often in so many games) but the ones here delighted me anew as there were objects hidden so cleverly in a way that was terrifically entertaining, and the puzzles, well, they were terrific as well!
I was swept into this amazing adventure, full of different things to do, and did not want it to end!
Now my problem is: I tried the SE just now and was happy to save the money but this was so good that it seems worth spending the money for the CE, so what will it be, what should I go for?? What fun to be had, cannot wait to buy it, everything is excellent, the graphics, the animation, the twists and turns, the plot is fun and challenging, common sense comes in handy which I love in a game, novelties abound that keep you on your toes and keep you from getting bored like in so many same old, same old, and also an additional plus+++, not so much running back and forth which becomes annoying and confusing after a while! Simply magical all around, not a single negative for me! I LOVE LOVE IT!
I recommend this game!

Detailed, fun, well animated, cheerful colors and great game play, the little ghosts from the first game returned to our great delight! We were hooked after 30 mns and bought it right there and then. Although i am tired of those kind of games, time management and building, i make an exception for this one and Demigods which was terrific as well as they both offered new twists, pretty scenes and better and better animation. After having been a member of Big Fish for a few years, having bought a lot of games and left a few comments, i am finding now that the fact I have become spoiled, like many, and expect more than this has to offer among others, makes me a tougher judge of a trial game than I should be and in this case, i was bored practically immediately and quit the trial after 10 minutes. Had this been the first game I ever played I may have continued but my interest was not peaked from the start.
The graphics were fine, the animation good at the beginning, but the story made little sense and triggered so little curiosity as far as finding out the outcome of the game that i was happy to press on exit and go to something more stimulating.
That is the problem for me today: Lots of games are so similar (with only a slightly different scenery and slightly different story and characters) with:
1) too many HOS with often the same things to look for from one to the other, as for example, a couple of butterflies, screws and nails, and that immortal "shuttlecock" that refuses to die! I will never forget that name now, as I have seen it in so many games... I used to call it a "Birdie" but now the true appelation has been pounded permanently in my head thru repetition!
2) too many types of puzzles that repeat themselves from game to game like working on the fuses.
3) too many identical tasks like removing the rust from a lock or getting something out of the drain with a fishing pole or a long object, or thorns having to be trimmed in order to grab the object beneath, which may be my FAVORITE among the repetitive ones (which have gotten old) since I like yard work and the clipping amuses me!!
I am tired of all those scenarios that have been repeated so often and would hope that the game makers could use their imagination to come up with new stuff, and I was happy the other day to have to put a coin in a slot machine as that was a bit of a change from the rest!
I am not complaining about this game in particular although it did not excite me one bit, as this game, like many, is predictable, slow moving, with a uninspiring and uninspired plot which left me cold (I want to be enticed into solving the plot and saving who has to be saved! And I was not!).
But I repeat, I am spoiled today, I have played so many of these games that I tend to expect the bells and whistles that I have not encountered yet.
I am definitively picky, if I am willing to take a good bit of my time to play and finish a game, i want to be challenged, entertained, amazed, amused, enchanted, curious till the end, I want new stuff, not the same old same old and the graphics must be beautiful as well as the colors, and an ending not too disappointing (as they often are when the developers have ran out of speed!)!
1) Today, I cannot play a game with foggy and super dark scenes like I could at one time (which is not the case here by the way, the scenes are very clear)
2) when subjected to poor graphics, my interest cannot be sustained anymore by the plot alone, I NEED CRISP: as some developers have improved their details so amazingly that I practically feel I am in there fighting dragons or ghosts...and since then, I expect the backgrounds to be superb and they are good here by the way, but the plot lacks!
3) I am sick and tired of HOS unless they have an interesting twist!
3) Sick and tired of pouring acid on rusted items, among others, as I see it in too many games and it has lost its novelty for me!
So I may be hard on this game because I expect so much, but I did not even have the desire to buy it on sale for $2.99 because it just did not have enough to offer me and I prefer replaying an exciting game that I previously bought than this one, for the first time. There was no desire to go further, the plot did not have me intrigued at all, there was no spark to it and i must agree with a lot of gamers that the plot cannot be strung out and stretched with too many HOS and puzzles that act like commercials on TV by making one lose interest in a plot that is constantly chopped up and delayed by too many interruptions. I like the new approach that some have by making you find the hidden objects as you walk thru the scenes, like a lost key or something that you find under a mat while walking along, as that is closer to real life and real life, in the case of a game I find, adds belief and plausibility to the plot and allows one to identify better with it, like these "Final Cuts" games which are quite realistic as opposed to these new games with fairy tales overtones which, I assume, would repel adults somewhat especially men, and would be more appropriate for children over all. I do play them with my grand daughter and we enjoy them together but if I did not have her to amuse, I would not buy them. I like to play detective and feel like I truly am for a spell, and for that, I need the plot, the graphics, the progress to be original and coherent and plausible in most cases, in order to play the part I am expected to play with conviction!
That said, Big fish make a brilliant effort in coming up with a new game everyday and each cannot be expected to be perfect as a result. I try to only purchase the best ones today since I am hard to please nowadays.
Thanks Big fish for creating a great and user friendly company!
I don't recommend this game.
