I have had the tour of my life! I actually felt like I was riding in the Gondola! My review is based on the completed CE version. This game is virtually beautiful in every way. Great storyline, magnificent graphics, a variety of HOGs, VOS awesome, game flow is excellent! Great cutscenes! What can I tell you! I respect and understand the reviewers who weren't too pleased with this game, but for me, it rocks! Load and loads of tasks to complete. An ingenious game that kept me engrossed the whole time. I didn't get bored once. That's saying something! The music, though repetitious, was lovely. After you complete the game, check out the extras and you will be able to download any of the music segments with titles. I particularly liked the one entitled, Discovery, which had somewhat of a brief Bond flavor. I also encourage you to read the credits after you complete the entire game. The EIPIX developers really outdid themselves on this one. It seems to me they really enjoy what they do. Very talented bunch! I found 41 of the 52 foxes, and most of the souvenirs and the letters, but in the extras you can finish what you missed. I played this in expert mode and did skip a few puzzles but you must be patient with some of them. Some tasks were easy and some were challenging. Great map, hint button and strategy guide if you needed it. I had a mop in my inventory for a while and thought, I'll probably be using it for some kind of spill. Nope! Butter knife was not for buttering your toast either. That may seem elementary but it was fun nevertheless. Bravo to the developers. This Italian-American thoroughly enjoyed the game and highly recommends the CE version to all.
I recommend this game!

I do love certain aspects of this game (SE version; I liked the 1st game much better); there are some pretty neat tasks to complete; the map was okay--not great. I didn't have full screen view, no matter what I tried, and I refuse to compromise my new laptop for any game to change the resolution much less the aspect ratio, but what I had was workable. As for the game-flow it's good not great. I'm at the point now that I'm getting bored, and I want to hurry up and finish this thing. I realize a lot of work went into developing this game, and, with all due respect to the developers, I certainly don't begrudge them for any lack thereof. But, for me, the game just ain't cuttin' it! I realize I'm in the minority, but such is the nature of the beast. Depressing atmosphere, obviously with the occultic theme, it's inevitable. Liked the angel; the deadly sins concept has been around before. Too many HOS for my taste. Morphing objects--ho-hum! Getting the bridge to work was real cool! I recommend this game.

You've got enough great reviewers' opinions and synopses of this awesome game, I'll just write that in all my game-playing, this is tops. It's different; unique; extremely clever, and intelligently written. I usually like to finish the game before submitting my review but I had to let you know this is one great game you don't want to pass up. I'm pretty much half-way through this CE version and this off-the-wall storyline has me intrigued. Way to go, developers! You've got a winner here! Yes, you are all over the place; loads of objects to find; silhouette HOS that are interactive, to boot; puzzles that are, in my opinion, very challenging, I skipped a couple so far. You need patience with some of them. I'm playing in hard mode but let me tell you this game is worth buying. You will not be bored; you will have items in your inventory for a bit and some not. Collection items to be achieved as well as phantom items #morphing# to collect. There is much to remember but read your journal; you have a very good jump-to map, and a strategy guide if needed. I don't need it but it's great to have. The graphics/artwork is wonderful; somewhat gloomy atmosphere at times but it goes with the territory. Great animation, cut scenes, VOS. I don't really know just yet what the connection between the kiddies and the Mafia is but it should be interesting. Butterflies, murky waters, demons--how can this game be so delightful you may ask? I can guarantee that you won't be sleeping with the fishes with this game. If it's not your cup of tea, I would be surprised! I highly recommend this game with flying colors and fireworks!!

For this genre, I give the game a 4-star rating. Good fairytale, great graphics, a variety of clever tasks that were fun to accomplish, lots of achievements, 50 medals to collect, an assortment of HOS, puzzles. I likde the popup puzzles, the Sudoku puzzle; birds, beetles, fireflies, dragons, elves, each had a purpose--a rhyme to its reason. Tevin is a cute, brave boy. Some of the VOS didn't fit the characters but the acting was very good. Nice map and hint button. A couple of inventory items will remain in your list for a bit. Lots of back n' forth, thus the good map and hint button. The flow was okay, and I looked forward to the many tasks on hand--my favorite part of the game. As one other reviewer mentioned, I, too, had to click several times on a few objects to get them to work. No sweat though. All in all this CE game is great. I'm nearing the end of the main game, and looking forward to the Bonus Game. I don't need wallpapers and such; I don't feel it's necessary. I do recommend this game.

As wonderful as the artwork is (somewhat cartoonish, tho), plus the thought that went into this great game, I cannot rate this CE version a 5-star. I can see why some of the reviewers gave it a 5 and I understand, too, why the other reviewers gave it a lower rating. To me, what matters most is the momentum--game flow. The main game did not have this. Also, you would think that the map would have been the actual transporter but it was the hint button that transported you. So, thumbs down for the map. Speaking of which, you were all over the place. You had items in your inventory that seemed to remain there for an eternity. The VOS were okay. Some of the voices didn't go with the character. I love the deadly sin storyline very much. That was cool for a change! More importantly, it was the bonus game that I preferred over the main game only because it FLOWED. The HOS in the main game were easy but the scenes were gorgeous. Very little interaction in the HOS. The puzzles were boring to me and not really puzzles in my opinion. So since I really liked playing the bonus game (short but sweet), I'm giving this game a 4-star. Nonetheless, kudos to the developers. I recommend this CE version.

I bought the CE edition and with all due respect to the developers, the artwork is grainy, some objects difficult to find amidst all the junk. Ugh, some of the objects were disgusting; I could almost smell the rotting fish! If you're playing in the challenge mode there are penalties for over-clicking. For the HOS--you will frequent the same junk pile scenes at times. I like balance in a game. The flow just isn't there. Far too many HOGs. The actors are great though and great cut scenes. I still recommend it. Obviously others liked it; it's an okay game but nothing to write home about.

I played the CE and just finished the bonus game. Lots of activities; too much dialect though. Visually it was stunning; good music--repetitive. Good story line, but in my opinion Dark Strokes: Sins of the Father still reigns king. One of my favorite activities was obtaining the tapes mainly because the actor who was narrating had a beautiful, deep voice and I could have listened to him over and over again. A couple of the VOS were too slow. The activities within the HOS were varied and very clever indeed. The puzzles were not difficult. I played in hard mode; the map was okay in the main game. No map in the bonus game. Hint button was good. I got most of the achievements not all. Sometimes the map would show no objects to be found even though some scenes still had things to accomplish. Other than that, the game was good. I would recommend it.

ERS' artwork is outstanding; I felt I could walk right into the scenes; good music but I've heard that melody so many times before; good VOS. The HOS were fun to play as there were a variety of things to do--interactive, collect 12 of these or 10 of those. Puzzles were challenging but not difficult at all; and I must say you really get a lot for you money. I just finished the main game and started the bonus game. There were numerous achievements, collecting coins to buy items for the crime shop to determine later who killed whom and how, just play the game, you'll see. You have to remember to collect the coins. And after you've completed the main game, it's there that you will find the bonus game. I liked the reborn one; in the beginning there is a cute, lil mouse who does help you out from time to time; but for the life of me there was a rat stationed by the journal and map area who was pretty much dormant except for his occasional flips, and eating nuts or whatever he was eating--which I found amusing. I kept clicking on him thinking he'd do something; he was there for show. At times I found the gameplay had no rhyme or reason, but all in all it was a pretty good game. I don't think it warrants a 5-star. Good hint button and a strategy guide if you need it. You know, to each his own. You may think it's the best game ever; but I've played better. I do recommend this game.

I'm halfway through this CE version and so far it's doom and gloom; there is no map; you have a deadbeat hint button, and the graphics are grainy, but the artwork isn't bad per se. The game started out okay but went downhill from there. Lots of spirits/ghosts flying around. I mean no disrespect to the developers but sorry, this game just doesn't have it! I'll force myself to finish it. Now the Maestro: Notes of Life was a great game and flowed very well, but this one is dragging and I'm playing it in advanced mode. In my opinion there are way too many HO scenes and the thing is I love HOS; there should be a balance of activities and there isn't. I give this a two-star rating, sorry! I still recommend it because you need to try it and base your own opinion!

I'm not crazy about this genre. Moves too slow for me. With respect to the developers and positive reviewers, I'm bored with the step, walk, run genre. Not for me. Sorry! I'll give it a three-star for effort, visuals, VOS. As I've written before I would never not recommend a game unless it's really, really bad; and because we're all unique and have different tastes, these types of games don't float my boat. Try it anyway and it might float yours.
