The game starts out very easy; however, after level 12 things start to get harder. There is a timer or number of moves. You have power-ups but you have to earn them, although some do appear on boards. You earn money to prepare the town for Christmas. I have played the previous two Christmas puzzles and enjoyed them all.
After Rupert and Emma receive a mysterious message, from their old friend Hani that the Jewel Boards were in danger, the duo must work fast to save both the jewel boards as well as Hani. But can they do both?
As some others have stated, this game doesn't give you the choice of a relaxed mode. You have time limits or move limits. The boards are very large for some reason and you have to ring bells (which is annoying for me). And even though you complete the board in the required time or moves you don't always get three stars -- and there is no explanation why.
This is a puzzle driven long adventure with all the elements of an CE in an SE game. It has a map, a journal (that you can go to only when it pops up), a task list, and teleportation. The hidden objects are matching, silhouettes, use an item to find or open another. You are switched between Richard and Rachel as you try to save Rachel.
I have played every Match 3 in this series and this one was for me a little disappointing, but you earn bonus where you can play mahjong and races to complete boards. I was disappointed because other than new icons the game was basically the same boards.
This is a long SE with great hidden objects and puzzles. There are four modes of play and I always like custom. The hidden objects vary from putting together, finding, locating one item to open another, and silhouettes. I really liked the puzzles especially guiding the boat. You also have a task list, notes, and a map. You can on occasion teleport. And with your new eyes and special glasses you can see the past.
The graphics in this game are excellent giving a creepy atmosphere. The hidden objects are clever. I particularly liked the witches cauldron. There are morphing objects and silhouettes, and riddles: or you can play match 3. There are also collectibles.
Played this series of games and this one just didn't live up to the others. Several of the icons were too similar and it was hard to see where the boxes were to eliminate, thus the poor visual rating. The boards are also very repetitive. The power-ups are standard: bomb, lightening, etc. As others have stated the first two power-ups provide the most help. If you match five you get a bomb on the board and match 4 and get a small sun which explodes.
This SE played like a CE. I say this because for me it was a long well thought out game. It had everything: a map, notes/task list, glasses to see the past, a helpful hint key and transporting. There were a lot of hidden objects of every variety or you could play match 3. You could play the mini-games either hard or easy; and the graphics were very well done.
When a famous shapeshifting alchemist is charged with looking into the murder of the king's most trusted agent and friend, the last thing she expects to discover is an intricate network of shadowy criminals, intent on bringing chaos to the land.
You are an alchemist that can changed into a bird and other small creatures. You travel to mysterious lands to find the criminals and meet a number of legendary figures along the way. I particularly liked the mixing of potions.
