I didn't think it was awful, but didn't think it was great. I really like this series, but this one was kind of a dud. I was confused throughout the game, since the dying king was writing a letter to his son. However, a female seemed to play the heirs part. Or I could be wrong. If you've played a Domini game, you need no info on HOS or puzzles. Or game mechanics or what to find. It's the same in every game. The bonus chapter was pretty bad. Seems like a different team wrote that bonus chapter and the English was not checked well at all. I would recommend this if you're into this series or want a super easy linear game to kill a few hours.

I have played other Surface games years ago, but this one was so different. A fairy tale game but it was very good. Not sure how I missed it. This was back when Elephant made great games. Lots of collectibles to find and it had quite a bit of challenge. HOS were varied and good. Games were unique to me. I'm glad I bought the CE as I really liked the bonus story. If you haven't checked out the Surface games yet, give them a chance. Most are pretty good.

So we have Derek who blames himself for a car accident which puts his wife into a coma. Out pops a genie and grants him a cure for his wife. Of course Derek takes the deal, then realizes he's been tricked. This could have been really good. But it wasn't. Acting was so boring it was like watching paint dry. Game was totally linear. Puzzles were extremely easy. HOS were dark and easy. Not many collectibles or puzzle pieces to fid. It certainly didn't warrant the CE price tag.. The bonus chapter was more of the same. Short. Way short. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Elephant has lost its gaming touch and I really don't think they care. After the conclusion to the Haunted Hotel series, I said I wouldn't buy another Elephant game. That's how disgusted I was with their ending to a 20 game series. This time I mean it. Never again. It took me about 2 hours to play the entire game plus the bonus chapter and I took a few breaks.

I do like this series Some games have been better than others, but that normal. I also love games from this developer. This one missed the mark somewhere. Graphics and color were great. HOS and puzzles were good. The story is what I had difficulty with. I felt it was very disjointed and one of those games you just keep playing to finish it. The bonus chapter was just ok. This series started out so creative and amazing, and now we are down to finding a twinkle. I simply doesn't do much for me. I don't recommend.

I had high hopes for this new series. However, I thought it was mediocre at best. Exact same Domini collectibles. Exact same tasks as every other one of their games. Same sayings too. I was able to do the mini games which means they were very easy as I have zero patience for figuring out puzzles. Game play was very linear and simplistic. The color and art work, as usual for Domini, was excellent. The game, to me, seemed klunky. It took a couple tries trying to pick something up from inventory and the game seemed choppy. I really thought with a name like city Legends, more of the city they were in would be utilized which would have been a great idea. It took me lots of stops and starts to finish the entire game which means it didn't keep my attention. I've been playing older games and they are so much better than any recent offering we have received. The game i listed in my recommended game was ecellent. I just finished it and had so much fun with it. It had the best bonus chapter ever. As for this game, I don't recommend.

I love the Paranormal Files series of games. I feel lucky I was able to get this game for free with a coupon or I would not be a happy fishy. Way too short and no way does this meet CE standards. Bonus chapter also was very short. This could have been a great game if length was added and more details. Instead it was rushed and started to come apart near the middle. I'm going back to playing my older games, where there was challenge involved and it kept me involved for a good period of time. If you like short games give it a try. I'm on the fence about recommending it as Rick wasn't in the game except for the first 5 or 10 minutes.

This, my friends, is a rare occurrence. A 2 star review for a Domini game. I love their games. Recently played the entire Labyrinth of the World series. Then this comes along. The characters are very unlikable. The HOS are so easy. Really. Not kidding, the objects are huge. The mini games are easy. Every task is a repeat from a previous game. The story was just barely held together. And that circle thing when you click on something was driving me mad. I liked the big red X's better. There isn't one positive thing I can say about this game except the clarity of the colors. The game for me lagged and was clunky. I'm in the middle of a game from 2011 and it plays better than this one did. I really liked this series. I'm hoping it's not the end of a great series. I don't recommend this unless you are a true beginner. As in, your first HOPA game. Even then, I'd think twice. I am in NO WAY seeing how this can get 5 stars. It baffles me.
Haunted Hotel was the only series I loved from Elephant Games. I was so sad to see this was the last one. Being that this was the last game of a very long stretching series of games, I would have hoped it would have been a knock out. Instead, it was horrendous. Looks like 20 people submitted parts of a story and they threw them all together and called it a game. Definitely not CE worthy. The bonus chapter was absolutely nonsensical. Very few collectables. No morphs. The story didn't make sense. I am literally ashamed for Elephant Games by selling this game. When you play every other game in the series, and they KNOW it's the finale, you'd think they'd do a service to their customers. I don't recommend it.

I'm almost done with the main game. It's been like watching paint dry. I have loved the other Living Legends game. This one isn't the same and clearly misses the mark. It is slow and tedious. It's very dark when it shouldn't be. I literally couldn't see many scenes. We have a brother and sister reuniting after some time apart and they are supposed to attend Neptune Day, but the very angry mermaids have other plans. Someone stole their sister and they are just out for revenge... turning everyone into salt statues. The brother disappears somewhere, then we meet Davy Jones and a sea witch and the story goes downhill from there. Very confusing as far as the plot goes. You get 4 items to find in each scene. Friendly Fox is never stingy with their collectibles. They are quite hard to see bc everything is so dark. Hoping the bonus chapter is at least good bc I'm pretty disappointed by this purchase. I don't recommend.

I just recently played this whole series. As with any series, some were great, some were just ok, and one was a dud. That was this game. Really vague storyline. No followthrough on who what when why. The 3 stars is because of the fact that the game was buggy. I had items in my inventory left over after the main game. It kept telling me "I can't see, I need to clear the smoke" and there was no smoke. There's no excuse for that. I do like this developer, but if you play their older games versus their newer games, you will see how the games they churn out are declining. I'm still not sure why the dragon was in the story. I think the writers just threw him in to say "Oh look, a dragon" "Our players love dragons" I really can't figure it out. Hopefully they can put a little quality control into the games they make and come out with an epic one.
