I just recently played this whole series. As with any series, some were great, some were just ok, and one was a dud. That was this game. Really vague storyline. No followthrough on who what when why. The 3 stars is because of the fact that the game was buggy. I had items in my inventory left over after the main game. It kept telling me "I can't see, I need to clear the smoke" and there was no smoke. There's no excuse for that. I do like this developer, but if you play their older games versus their newer games, you will see how the games they churn out are declining. I'm still not sure why the dragon was in the story. I think the writers just threw him in to say "Oh look, a dragon" "Our players love dragons" I really can't figure it out. Hopefully they can put a little quality control into the games they make and come out with an epic one.

I just completed the game, beginning to end. I'm not sure what happened to Domini, but somewhere along the line I think they were told to just churn out the games no matter what. I've played their older games and they were great. This game truly requires no thinking at all. Just run from task to task to task. Fairy Godmother is trying to help once again, however it sure takes her a long time to get things done. For a Fairy Godmother, she doesn't have much magic in her. She needs to charge her wand, but first you need to find the charging sparkles which truly showed up basically anywhere. The bonus chapter was more back and forth between the same 3 scenes. It was fairly long but I think I started dragging going back and forth. Domini does put out some great HOS although the red X's aren't needed or wanted. Some mini games I did, some I skipped. I'm not a puzzle person. I do give credit for the crisp clean graphics and if you are looking for something very light to play, grab this one. I'm running out of developers to keep my eye on for new games. Elephant sunk with their lack of length of games and the cutting out of things that should be in CE's. I'm relying on Grandma to come out with something new or for Big Fish to give the small developers a chance.

Funny this game was released bc I had just played the entire series. I will say the earlier games were much more challenging and interesting and made you think a little bit. This one is Domini's new no brainer type of game. Nothing wrong with that at all. I need one of these every now and then. The HOS were fun. I didn't care for the puzzles, but I never do. These just seemed to be lacking instructions for us non-puzzlers. The story line was good, sort of fantasy and reality blended. Lots of the usual collectibles and a pretty long game. Not as long as Domini usually puts out but took me some time to finish. The bonus chapter was short. I hope they continue this series as I really enjoy it.

For Domini, this was a short game. They usually put out pretty long games. Not in this case. I liked the game. I had no issues tech wise. I could have done without the big red X's but they weren't that annoying. Not sure why people are saying there are non-sensical tasks. All the HOPA have them. Lots of collectibles, morphs and coins to find. Story was interesting. It kept me entertained and I have a very short attention span so that's a plus for this game. You do get the choice between a HOS or a match 3. As per norm, Domini offers 9 gazillion achievements. Makes me feel good since I never can do the puzzles. At least with Domini games I get a bunch of other achievements :) I recommend.

I love this series of games, thus was excited to see a new one. I am over an hour into the game and I am soooo confused. I started out going to a wedding, ended up in a forest, then ended up speaking to a talking tree. I thought Uwe was getting married, but no. He's dead. I may have to restart this from the beginning because I am so lost it's senseless to keep playing. The HOS are small and dark. The whole game is on the darkish side. I haven't encountered many puzzles yet, thank goodness. I'll finish this after beginning again eventually and comment on the SE version. As for now, this is only getting 3 stars because grandma put a lot of work into the game.

Review after review I see people saying "same old same old, or such and such game is like all others, etc". Well Mystery Trackers changed things up a bit and I think it's a great idea. There are a plethora of MT games that basically are all the same. Here we get a new cast of characters and it works for me. Yes, poor Elf is gone but change is not always a bad thing. My rating is low since this in no way, shape, or form should be a CE. It's short and lacks any extras to find except for a few. I'm not a fan of Elephant games. They have been cranking out the games and short changing us customers for a while now. Overall the story is just OK. It seems like a game they slapped together just to release a new game. The only reason it's getting 3 stars is because they stepped out and made changes or it would be a 1 star game.
I played the first few RC way back when, and I decided to play them all. This one has to be the worst RC of them all. Even the RC's that are just ok are not as bad as this one. There are no collectibles at all. Instead you get rocks to put on a scale at the end of the game to see if you are good or evil based on your decisions. The story was so disjointed I didn't know if I was coming or going. One would think the bonus chapter would be a bit better. No. If possible, even more disjointed than the game. I cannot tell you the gist of the story as it was all over the place. There were not too many HOS and a few puzzles. That's bascally what I recall. I literally couldn't wait for the game to be over I do not recommend this game.

I just got around to playing this one. I'm not quite sure how to rate it. It could have been a very good game, however, there were so many puzzles and so much talking, that I felt I never really played much of a game. I am not a lover of puzzles so that was a turn off for me. The HOS were leaning on being puzzles in themselves. If they had cut out most of the puzzles and all the talking I would have really liked this. I do recommend it as I know many love puzzles.

I usually love this series. I was so excited to see a new Dark Romance. Until I started to play. I know this isn't the place for it, but the game was very glitchy. Lagged and did odd things. The story itself was ok. It was just missing something. The characters were very unlikable. The game dragged on and on and became a chore. I actually liked the bonus chapter better than the main game. I had to LOL when the main game was over and it said "Free Bonus Chapter". Umm excuse me but I paid extra for that bonus chapter. It seems the whole production was rushed and I was running around fanning smoke just to make the game longer. I do recommend but demo the game first.

I have liked all the Grim Tales up until this one. I cannot even count how many puzzles and zoom screens I have looked at in this game. If you're going to live in a castle, clean once in a while. I found the game very disjointed and absolutely boring and ridiculous. The bonus chapter was just as bad. There are morphs and puzzle pieces but I honestly even gave up looking for them. Everything was so dark, I felt like my head was going to explode. This is a no from me.
