First there was Lost Lands the Dark Overlord. Then came Lost Lands The Four Horsemen, followed by Lost Lands The Golden Curse. Now we embark on the 4th edition of Lost Lands The Wanderer. Once again you play the role of Susan where she and her husband have just come back from an adventure from The Lost Lands, but it seems far from over. The “ghost” of a Captain Finuer Stulburn from the Lost Lands has tracked them all the way back to the real world. What does the captain want? To find his way back to the Lost Lands, as he is doomed to wander between the two worlds bringing destruction to the places he visits. He tasks Susan to set the compass to the Lost Lands, and to find his body and wake it up as it is only his mind that wanders between worlds with his ship and giant octopus. You soon discover after being transported via compass sphere into the Lost Lands that Captain Stulburns body is trapped in a magical structure called the "Energy Reservoir". It's complicated for Susan in the Lost Lands because she is from the modern day era and viewed as a threat to those who seek power in Lost Lands. When you eventually face the Earl of Obian, ruler of Mist Coast who has an Evil plan to Rule Lost Lands. He throws you into his prison dungeon where by coincidence you meet Captain Stulburns wife Nitelle Stulburn. She is convinced that her husband is deceased. So you share the truth with her and both of you break free from imprisonment. Soon you will encounter your faithful companion from all the Lost Land Series. A powerful Mage named Maaron, member of the ancient Order of The Keepers and protector of Forgotten Lands from any possible threats. Now, trapped in the Lost Lands, Susan must do as Stulburn bids. What ensures is a totally unforgettable Hidden Object adventure that you, as the player, must experience. Several characters offer you help along the way, but in the end it's ultimately up to you to save Captain Stulburn and Save the day. This is an impressive series that I have LOVED since the first edition was released. It take hours and hours of gameplay to complete the journey....then there is the bonus adventure.Lost Lands: The Wanderer Collector’s Edition features both Hidden Object games AND mini-puzzles, as expected. Mini-puzzles are non-HO puzzles that you still have to solve if you want to get an important item for your inventory. However, you can choose to skip the mini-puzzle, but only after a specific amount of time has elapsed. As for the HO puzzles, there’s a variety of them found here in this game. The very first HO puzzle you encounter is a silhouette puzzle - you’re given a row of object silhouettes, and you’ll have to look for them in the picture. Now, the game adds a layer of challenge by having the objects play a role in finding other objects. Thus, you can’t just find objects simply by looking at the puzzle. You’ll have to figure out what they could be useful for in the puzzle. Cut scenes feature beautifully rendered artwork, with professionally recorded dialogue accompanied by very legible subtitles below. These audio-visual presentation completes the truly immersive experience that this HO game offers for members. Lost Lands: The Wanderer Collector’s Edition is best EXPERIENCED instead of just talked about. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and if your new to the series play all of them. I especially love Lost Lands The Four Horsemen...
I recommend this game!

Eipix achieves redemption after the 3 star flop "Snowbirds Creek" in August of 2016. Dead Reckoning: Death Between the Lines Collector's Edition is the name of this edition and it is here to rock your world! If you like the Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure games that Eipix Entertainment is famous for producing, then Dead Reckoning should be right up your alley! In this hot new game, you will be taking the role of a young engaged author of the book Dead Reckoning. After doing what seems to be just your average run of the mill book signing out on a book tour, things take a turn for the weirdness. You have been offered the opportunity of your lifetime. However, in order to actually get this opportunity, you had to beat out the country’s other 4 top writers in a competition and everything seemed to be going well until one of the writers dropped dead all of a sudden. Now, you need to figure out why the person dropped dead and get to the bottom of the mystery before the other writers, or you, end up suffering the same fate. The writers have all written books which are also game titles; Phantasmat, Hidden Expedition, Dance Macabre, Off the Record, and your book Dead Reckoning. A mysterious stranger approaches you with a rather odd proposal: take on four of the country’s current best authors and if you can write the best out of them all, then you will win the opportunity to write the life story (biography) of famous billionaire Harridan Welles. The gameplay of Dead Reckoning: Death Between the Lines is quite extraordinary and is more than capable of keeping players hooked for hours upon hours. The hidden object scenes are top notch and are quite challenging as well due to the clever object placement. As for variety, most of the scenes are of the traditional list based type but you’ll run into a few special scenes from time to time as well that have been designed to keep things fresh and interesting. However, if you don’t feel like finding objects, you can play a bubble shooter game instead which is also quite enjoyable.
Dead Reckoning: Death Between the Lines also has tons upon tons of different mini-games that’ll definitely push your puzzle solving skills to the limit. Each and every single one of the puzzles in this game is highly engaging and has a unique design so you’ll have completely fresh experience every single time you play. It’s worth mentioning that the puzzles in this particular game are significantly more difficult than those in traditional hidden object games but, thankfully, there’s a useful skip button that you can utilize whenever you can’t seem to get through a puzzle. Onto the graphics, Dead Reckoning: Death Between the Lines looks absolutely phenomenal. The game takes place in a modern setting which is definitely a fresh setting because most hidden object games tend to occur in fantasy/medieval environments. The modern day art style has been pulled off near flawlessly as the game has tons upon tons of beautiful artwork, fluid animations, solid character designs and various other amazing visual elements. If you decide and pick up this Collector’s Edition, then you are bound to find all sorts of extra treats. For example, there is a bonus chapter in which you will be able to go in there and get to the bottom of the mysterious murder case that involved your sister-in-law to be. You can also use the helpfully integrated Strategy Guide along the way if you get into a pinch. There are hidden souvenirs along the way which you can pick up during the adventure. There are some cool media downloads you can get in the Collector’s Edition and the challenging mini games are re-playable. I have a renewed love for this unique series and when all said and done, Dead Reckoning: Death Between the Lines is a captivating hidden object game that doesn’t cease to impress....
I recommend this game!

Every now and then, a new series gets launched that absolutely rocks the industry. Harrowed Halls: Lakeview Lane Collector’s Edition just might be the next big thing that changes the way members look at gaming. This award-winning game puts you in the role of a former attorney, who has finally decided to leave it all behind and head for a small, quiet, neighbourhood in what seems to be a rather peaceful part of the countryside… well, it seems to be that way anyway. What lurks around the unknown corners ahead is truly frightening! You see shadows jetting across your windows and hear eerie noises off in the distance. A normal person would just go ahead and find some other place to live, but your lawyer ingrained curiosity is going to get the best of you. Suddenly your children are kidnapped by a madman and pulled into a locked room which can only be accessed by mysterious keys. You are soon given the back story about a Serial Killer obsessed with JUSTICE and cleansing the world of EVIL. Seems the Killer was the son of the Honorable Judge William Parker. Famous for sending hardened Maffia members to jail. When the entire criminal group learns what Judge Parker has done they come to his home and MURDER him in front of his young son. As a result he spends the rest of his youth in an orphanage. Now grown, the son (turn serial killer) returns to said home to MURDER owners of the home from 1965 - 1996. Each victim is a "sinner" in his tormented mind and for every deceased victim there is a KEY to use on the multiple locks to the door where your CHILDREN are being held. It's up to you to discover WHY YOUR CHILDREN, WHAT MOTIVE??? You must put an end to the madness and save your kids. The graphics and music in this game are absolutely chilling. Seriously, if you have a weak stomach, then Harrowed Halls: Lakeview Lane Collector’s Edition simply is not going to work out for you. If you are up for the mental and emotional challenge, then you are really in for a special treat if you go ahead and get the Collector’s Edition. There are morphing jigsaw puzzle pieces that you can pick up along the way that will turn into scenes from the game. There is a creepy toy chest of achievements and you can even read the secret developer’s diary! There are 44 morphing jigsaw puzzle pieces and 17 achievements, 10 re-playable mini games. There are a lot of media extras, like 11 wallpapers, 4 soundtracks, and 40 diary pictures. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ONE FOR MATURE PLAYERS. It's SPOOKTACULAR!

In this latest edition of Dark Romance you explore the infamous Bliebeard's curse in a new light in the next installment of the hit dark fantasy franchise. It's up to you help Richard save his lover Rachel from Count Bluebeard! You play dual roles of Richard and Rachel trying to save this young couple from falling prey to Bluebeard, the famous pirate who likes to force women to bear his monstrous children. The story follows the exploits of a young couple who are targeted by the evil Bluebeard, and they need help to keep him at bay. You mostly play the role of a brave hero trying to stop the famous pirate from wedding your beloved Rachel and you must use every trick in the book to do so. Moreover, all sorts of other obstacles stand in your way, and it’s important to deal with all of them. The story is full of unique characters with excellent voice acting and human emotion. Along your journey you meet Bluebeards sister Britta who was blinded by her brother yet hasn't lost faith in humanity and provides you with great assistance in your quest. You also meet the deceased wives of Bluebeard whom all of them he MURDERED, but they will assist you to in order to lay their souls to rest. Grace the mid-wife who delivered all of Bluebeards monstrous children also guides you along the way. Meredith, Bluebeards Aunt who raised him is especially helpful since she placed the curse on Bluebeard in the first place and you'll soon learn why. I haven't played such an intense HOPA in a very long time perhaps the best yet in 2016. Definitely one CE you have to have in your collection. Cheers!

I just completed this amazing adventure from Shaman games. 13 years ago, the Kingdom of Aurelia was attacked and the Royal family was imprisoned - only the Princess managed to escape from the grasps of the tyrants. Play the role of Sam on an epic adventure to save his cousin, princess Aurora and protect the Kingdom of Aurelia. Firstly, notice that Kingdom of Aurelia: Mystery of the Poisoned Dagger is being offered as a Standard Edition - which is a shame considering the quality of this game is actually so much higher than many of the recent Collector's Edition releases. Kingdom of Aurelia excels in the creativity department, giving us a refreshing theme with an innovative gameplay. The theme of Kingdom of Aurelia can simply be described as the Renaissance meets Steampunk, which is something that we don't see often in the HOPA world. As you explore the beautifully crafted landscapes, you will get to meet a variety of interesting characters and perform a range of unconventional tasks. The amount of thoughts and creativity that the developer put into developing this game is insane - definitely one of the most fascinating HOPA games I have played in a while. Further, Kingdom of Aurelia is also quite a challenging game. Maybe it was because many of the tasks given in the game were not something we see often, but at times they took us a while to figure out what to do. Besides, the hidden objects and puzzles were also professionally done and extremely entertaining. Such a tech-focused game would not be complete without a special device or two. Kingdom of Aurelia introduces Tim the flying robot, a robotic companion that can help you pick up items or complete tasks in unreachable places. In addition, you are also given the Mind-scope, a high-tech device that you can use to read anybody's minds. Kingdom of Aurelia: Mystery of the Poisoned Dagger proves that there is still a place for innovation in the HOPA world. There's no reason not to get yourself a copy, especially with a Standard Edition's price tag or the use of one of your free coupons!

The PuppetShow series must go on! The series has just gotten a new addition and I loved it! Her Cruel Collection is a hidden object game in which your goal is to investigate a series of kidnappings and catch the ones responsible before others are taken as well. A girl and a boy are in love. She is rich and her father does not approve, he is not so rich, but very ill. Things go all the way south when he disappears and then she disappears. The story puts you in the role of a detective who’s investigating these kidnappings. You get to choose whether to be a male or a female investigator, which makes the experience slightly customizable. Naturally, there’s a big emphasis on puppets and creepy dolls throughout the story, given the fact that you stumble onto them in a variety of weird places. You are called in for an investigation, but things are not so simple because you are surrounded by puppets and not real people who pretend to be what they are not. You get a mechanical helper for this adventure, a cat. There is also a bonus game to add more love tension and info about James' illness to the story. I also love how much detail and sound/SFX ERS put into creating the adventure. The game also comes with a "graphic content" disclaimer which I think is brilliant. Like telling you before a movie "For Mature Audiences Only". You gotta give developers credit for putting a lot of thought into this latest edition especially if you are a long-time fan of this unique series. If you want a unique and "think outside the box" mystery then this game is for you.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Purchase CE if you want to know how the story really ends with the included bonus game.
I recommend this game!

In this edition of Phantasmat you hired a private investigator to find your wandering sister Valerie. The investigator found out that she was hired by a mysterious Doctor Edward Corvine for an unspecified private job at his estate in Oregon. You arrive to the location with the heavy clouds of an impending blizzard, which traps you in the manor with something more than just your sister and its residents. An unspeakable horror haunts its shadowy halls and light is your only weapon against it. Snowed in for the night, the feverish chase to escape this monstrosity begins as time works against you – the generators threaten to give in any minute and enshroud the entire mansion in darkness, the creature’s dominion. This unspeakable horror haunts its shadowy halls and light is your only weapon against it. Phantasmat, even now when the technology all moves forward, it is still one of the best series on the market. I give this one 4.5 stars.

In Maze 2: The Broken Tower, Step inside a faded image of former glory and broken dreams of a massive High Rise. You were there only to make a quick final survey. There was never supposed to be anybody (or any thing) left behind. Now your partner is gone, there‘s no way to call for help, and the are the walls closing in....
Here is when you first meet S.A.R.A, an A.I. program designed to maintain all requirements of the building. She makes HAL from 2001: A Space Oddity look harmless. S.A.R.A is far more sinister and uses a special SERUM in order to control and make persons inside the building comply. You are even fitted with a bracelet which can measure compliance and inflict pain. There is a back story to the origin of S.A.R.A. which you learn half way thru the adventure and it's a bit disturbing. You ultimate goal in this cutting edge thriller is to help people confined in the building, save yourself, and ultimately destroy the mainframe S.A.R.A.
I thought the gameplay and the story was pretty unique because it doesn’t feature as magic artifacts or scary demons, for a change. Instead, you play the role of someone in charge of the demolition of a building, except that it all goes wrong at some point. Hence, it turns out that someone has trapped you in some sort of experiment, and you have to comply with the rules or accept certain death. Gorgeous graphics and many interesting scenes are abundant. There are quite a few striking events that set Maze: The Broken Tower apart from most hidden object games, and the game also feels a lot more interactive for some reason. You often find yourself actively using items rather than just clicking on them, which does wonders for the overall atmosphere. Some of the puzzles are quite original as well ranging from easy to extremely difficult. The graphics deserve some praise as well, especially when it comes to level design and the way the designers managed to create a spooky atmosphere with a few jump scares. You are always scrambling for answers and following mysterious directions, and even the environments reflect that. On top of all this, the sound effects and the soundtrack go very well with the general mood of the game. I really recommend this game, it isn't anything like other games in the Big Fish line up with the exception of Maze 360. Enjoy!

Wow! What a fantastic creation Blue Tea Games and Eipix developed. '''The Thief and the Tinderbox''' is the twelfth installment in the ''Dark Parables'' Series. The game takes place in the Swiss Alps at the royal wedding of Prince Gwyn and Gerda. The game is based on the Danish Fairytale of The Tinderbox with some elements taken from Arabian mythology and Russian history. Okay Detective, Prince Gwyn has been the rightful ruler of the Mountain Kingdom ever since the Mountain King slipped into his frozen sleep. Now the Prince requires your expertise. The royal wedding between Prince Gwyn and Gerda is approaching, and wildfire is ravaging the kingdom's forest. A mysterious figure was seen setting the flames, but they were never caught. Your mission is to find the person responsible for this and end the destruction before it escalates. Also, Gerda and Gwyn would be delighted if you could attend their wedding.
This will be an arduous journey as you solve the adventure and it kept me playing for several days. I also took notes along the way of how this story connects several of the other Dark Parables games which I found fascinating.
* The Hooded Thief is none other than Kai, the young man seen previously in Rise of the Snow Queen, Ballad of Rapunzel and The Thumbelina Curse.
* The Fairytale Detective is traveling to the Snowfall Kingdom for a wedding. She was last in the Snowfall Kingdom in game three, Rise of the Snow Queen.
* The wedding the Detective is attending is between Gerda and Gwyn. Both characters were first seen in Rise of the Snow Queen. Gerda was also seen in Ballad of Rapunzel, and the two lovebirds first met in The Thumbelina Curse.
* A gargoyle of the Mountain Beast can be seen in the underground lair of the Dog Guardians.
* We meet the mysterious Moon Priest again, who was last seen in The Golden Slumber. We learn later in the game that his name is Hansel, meaning he is the first Golden Child whose story was told in Hansel and Gretel.
* We learn that Gwyn is now the King of the Snowfall Kingdom, after his grandfather, the Mountain King from Rise of the Snow Queen, had died.
* We encounter Snow White again. Snow White has played a role in several ''Dark Parables'' games, as early as The Exiled Prince and as recently as The Thumbelina Curse.
* Snow White's Eagle Familiar is seen in this game. He was last seen in The Thumbelina Curse.
* We learn the Mountain King's actual name in this game: Edric. We also discover he had a brother named Rasputin.
* Wedding gifts for the happy couple are found outside the Snowfall Palace. Among the gifts are large chests from the Kingdom of Barsia, the Order of the Red Riding Hood Sisters "Red Riding Hood Sisters",Floralia, and the Swan Kingdom.
* While the Snowfall Kingdom's capitol is now located in a new place, the Detective visits the remains of the previous capitol and the Snow Queen's Palace, which looks very much the same as it did in Rise of the Snow Queen.
*King Edric's magical hammer was first seen in Rise of the Snow Queen. It was the only artifact capable of breaking the False Mirror after Snow White had reformed it.
* The parable "The Curse Is Born" tells of the Sea Goddess who played a role in The Little Mermaid and the Purple Tide.
* The parable "Two Brothers, Two Mirrors" tells the tale of the creation of the Magic Mirrors of the Mountain Kingdom. These mirrors were first seen in Rise of the Snow Queen, and the Truth Mirror also played a role in The Red Riding Hood Sisters. I have the entire collection to date and I look forward to more editions of this Magical Series! Good Luck and Enjoy....

Kudos to Domini and Big Fish for this latest edition. It seems like HOPA's with scary stories always feature some kind of creature that seems to appear only when the victim is alone or isolated in a creepy location, which is why it’s difficult to believe the said victims. Movies and video games take advantage of this concept to present you with a variety of horrific situations, especially since it’s very easy to scare the audience when you have so many visual and audio elements at your disposal. I think the developers were smart and utilized this in Mystery Tales. Mystery Tales: Eye of the Fire is an interesting, yet scary hidden object adventure game that takes you on a dark journey into the nightmares of a woman. While the experience can be quite scary and unpleasant, it’s not the traumatizing kind of horror game, because the fear dissipates a few minutes after you are finished playing. Hence, anyone can enjoy it, as long as you can deal with a few scary faces every now and again. The story puts you in the role of an investigator trying to help a woman figure out why she has terrible nightmare. However, the investigation takes a turn for the worse and you find yourself surrounded by evil and the forces of darkness. Naturally, you must fight them off and help the poor woman at the same time, which is achieved by unraveling the mystery behind the spirits. The visuals are gorgeous most of the time, especially since there are all sorts of particle effects designed to improve the atmosphere. Each scene is gorgeous and nicely drawn, as are the characters and various other apparitions you meet along the way. There’s great voice acting as well, and the sound effects go nicely with the overall experience. This is the fifth installment of the series and I loved it. Mystery Tales just keeps getting better and better with each release. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!
