This is one edition of the Redemption Cemetery series that takes you on a journey so incredible that you may never sleep again, yet once you complete the adventure you deserve the much needed rest. Dr. Jim Phillips and Dr. Jane Warovski have resurrected a Dark Lord out of an obelisk at an excavation site. A terrible Night Terror Virus is unleased and patients at the Dream Research Institute must stay awake or else die in their dreams. You will really have to think outside the box once you discover the morph cola vending machine (Morpheus Cradle) and use it to deposit soul spirits from the patients in the institute to be transported into their dreams and save them. This theme of tele-transportation and time travel is what has made Redemption Cemetery such a cult classic fan favorite! ERS has done a fantastic job with this new edition and it's trending at high velocity on social media. Heavily criticized on one hand and highly praised by the other, just proves that the developers deliver for fans who crave counter-culture and are bored with the status quo. The graphics and voice overs are really other worldly too creating a trippy almost hallucinogenic effect. It isn't a game for kids or the faint hearted. Oh how I love a game that comes with a warning disclaimer! Demo this one and wave goodbye to the ERS rabbit when your mind plunges down the hole...........
I recommend this game!

Yet another episode from the Grim Tales series by Elephant Games is finally here! Grim Tales: Graywitch Collector's Edition is here and once you play it, you will be standing there barefoot because it is going to knock your socks off. If you are familiar with the rest of the series, then you know what kind of quality awaits from what is arguably Elephant Games’ best string of hit Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure games. If not, then this is a great entry point. It’s almost as if the previous eleven (yes, ELEVEN) chapters were warming up for this one. Great stuff! You will be taking on the role of Stacy Gray, a good-intentioned lady who is doing some genealogical research into her family’s history when things take a paranormal turn for the worst. You will travel off to the small town of Graywitch, where the adventure begins. Your ancestor, Victor Gray used to live there. Now, Victor Gray is no obscure figure from local history. He was actually a crazed scientist who created a monster by bringing his wife back to life (creepy-creepy!). Stacy gets to work turning back the hands of time, when Anna Gray spots her and realizes that she is in grave danger! This where you step in to figure all of this out. Get the full Collector’s Edition; it’s worth it. There is some really cool media that is available for downloading in the Collector’s Edition that you can enjoy for long after you conquer the game. Speaking of the conquer in and of itself, if it gets too difficult, you can turn to the guide for help in the Collector’s Edition (NO HAND HOLDING IN THIS INSTALLMENT). There is also a really fun bonus chapter in which you get to take on the role as Victor to fight off an evil cult. Spooky! There is even a nifty secret room that you can unlock and enjoy. All sorts of collectables and achievements along the way enhance your gameplay. I love the Grim Tales series yet try to remain objective with reviewing the series. I almost gave this installment a 4 because the graphics resolution could have been executed with clearer details but that aside, this is an outstanding addition to a great series with an enormous fan following. I look forward to the next edition too!
I recommend this game!

I love this edition as much or even a bit more than The Keeper of Antiques: The Revived Book. In the edition of The Keeper of Antiques: The Imaginary World is a hidden object adventure game in which you play the role of an investigator trying to save the world from a menacing threat. The Keeper of Antiques: The Imaginary World begins rather slowly, but picks up its pace when our character enters the portal into the fantasy world. The portal world in this game is incredibly-executed – each location is completed with fascinating animations, cool on-scene interactions and lots of eye-catching things to look at. It also helps that The Keeper of Antiques has such amazing graphics and special effects. After a few days with no contact from her uncle, Alexandra decided to pay him a visit at his Antique Shop. Not only that Uncle Paul couldn’t be found in the shop, a thief has also stolen a book from the shop. After a little snooping around, you found out that Uncle Paul went into a mysterious portal and the stolen book is your only gateway to that world. Can you retrieve back the book and save your uncle? The best selling author Morgan Atkins has written a book entitled "The Hangman Returns" which is cursed. So as a member of the order you are armed with the Keeper’s Device which will help you gain info on artifacts and other anomalies so you can progress forward through the adventure. In order to access the portal you must obtain a prism-like crystal that is the key to the Imaginary World by freeing it from Gregory Williams, a famous illusionist. Time is racing though and you must go thru the portal to "The Imaginary World" and retrieve the book before it reaches the printing press where a million copies are ready to be printed. A fate you must stop in order to save innocent lives. Along the way you meet interesting characters that are murdered in a way to make them look like suicides. There are terrific twists and turns during gameplay in order to find out why the book was cursed in the first place, then you must burn the original copy. This is where the ultimate answers lie to the back drop to this incredible story plot. I completed the main game in about 4.5 hours with another hour for the bonus game. I enjoyed this unique adventure that I will probably play it again today. Kudos to the development team for another great installment of this very engaging series. CE bling is covered fully in other reviews. I just loved every moment of game play from beginning to conclusion. Recommend for every level of player.
I recommend this game!

Crime never sleeps, and neither does the Vermillion Watch! Just a day after you put Irene Adler behind bars, another criminal commits a robbery and the chase is on. Soon, what seemed like a relatively straightforward case reveals a tangled web of villains with horrifying intentions. But a member of the Watch is never alone. Phileas Fogg and Rufus await your return, ready to lend a hand, and you might get the chance to revisit some familiar faces from your last mission. You will need all the help you can get as you pry ever deeper into the terrible plot looming over London. Vermillion Watch: Fleshbound SE and the Collector's Edition is a brilliant hidden object adventure that takes you to the streets of London. A master thief has stolen a valuable item from the Watch and your job is to find out who the culprit is. The game brings forward a huge variety of mini games that are simply genius and will never let you get BORED. The game features a relaxed game mode, although you do get to unlock certain achievements for completing a puzzle as fast as you can. You will get all the time in the world to search for clues and to use your intellect to solve the exciting puzzles in this edition of the series. It took more than 4 hours for me to complete this awesome adventure. There are a huge variety of mini games in Vermillion Watch: Fleshbound which will never let you become bored. Vermillion Watch: Fleshbound is probably one of the most mature HOPA games I have seen as of late. Not only is the storyline intriguing and complex, elements of thriller and hints of suspense are definitely plenty. However, as much as I enjoyed the plot, it is totally understandable that some might find it chaotic due to the numerous characters and the complex storytelling style of the game. Eipix did a fantastic job portraying London in the early 1900s. All the locations are stunningly designed so that they are both fascinating to look at and fit with the era of the storyline in the game. You get to find hidden items using word lists, silhouettes or both. The game also features several puzzles that have to be completed using your intellect. These puzzles include rearranging a cryptic pattern, picking a lock to find the contents inside and much more. The game is easy to navigate and all you need is a mouse to play this game. Click to interact with objects in the scene and search for clues. Your goal is to connect the dots and find the way out of every scene in order to proceed to the next. Keep on solving puzzles and finding hidden objects and continue uncovering the truths behind the robbery. When it comes to the graphics of the game, Vermillion Watch: Fleshbound doesn’t disappoint. Enjoy realistically detailed scenes with perfect voice overs of highly detailed characters. Moreover, a brilliant variety of background tunes makes the game even more enjoyable and the game play even more exciting. Find out the mystery thief and bring the stolen valuable item back to the Watch. Thank you Big Fish for innovative new series. Eipix really has hit the mark with this one and I look forward to many more editions of this remarkable series!!! xox

This is the 3rd installment of Midnight Calling where you step into a world that’s slowly tumbling towards disaster and must do all you can to stop the disaster from happening. I really enjoyed the expertly crafted hidden object scenes and puzzle sequences as you progress through the game. Midnight Calling: Valeria is an incredible hidden object game that came out quite recently but has already managed to receive quite a lot of critical acclaim from tons of different players (trending on social media). The game’s worth playing because it comes quite close to perfection. The gameplay is engaging, the game world is immersive and the plot is very well thought out. Aside from a few negligible flaws, this game is truly immaculate. In Midnight Calling: Valeria, you’ll have to enter a world that’s slowly drifting into chaos. The world is rapidly cooling down and if the temperature keeps decreasing at this rate then the world won’t remain for much longer. You’re the only one who seems to possess the bravery and power to stop this disaster from happening so you must go against all odds to stop the disaster from happening before it is too late. The gameplay of Midnight Calling: Valeria doesn’t really try to innovate all that much but, in spite of this, it’s still some of the most fun I’ve had in a hidden object game. The hidden object scenes are all very well designed and there’s a mix of list based and silhouette based scenes for you to play through. The game also has a variety of unique hidden object scenes that offer a nice change of pace from the usual gameplay such as those in which you have to find items in pairs of two or those that are split into multiple different parts. On top of the high quality hidden object scenes, Midnight Calling: Valeria features an enormous array of unique mini-games and puzzles for its players of every level to enjoy. You’ll get to do tons of enjoyable things like completing tile swapping puzzles, arranging runes in specific orders, placing spheres in the correct locations, arranging circles so that they match with symbols and, alongside these, there are various other mini-games as well so the gameplay won’t ever feel repetitive as you make your way through the game. It’s worth mentioning that some of the puzzles can be a tad bit challenging and if you ever get stuck on these then there’s a useful skip button that you can utilize to keep progressing further. While the gameplay of Midnight Calling: Valeria is extremely engaging, perhaps the game’s biggest highlights are its top of the line visuals. The game world is massive and every single environment is packed with detail. The character designs are absolutely spot-on, the special effects are breathtaking and the dark color palette adds a certain mystique to the visuals and this makes the experience quite immersive. Midnight Calling: Valeria is an immersive hidden object game that comes incredibly close to perfection thanks to its magnificent visuals, top notch plot and of course the brilliant gameplay. This well-deserved Editor Choice edition is one you must play. I highly recommend!!!

Haunted hotels are a pretty interesting to think about, because they are a bit of a conundrum. You would think that buildings full of spirits are not very popular, but then again many people are actively seeking for supposedly haunted establishments. In addition, there are also investigators specialized in detecting ghost traces using weird machinery and beeping gadgets. Haunted Hotel: The Thirteenth is a horror-infused adventure game with hidden object gameplay mechanics and various puzzles for you to solve along the way. The horror elements are not as scary as they could be, but then again the game is designed for casual audiences that are not in it for the psychological damage. Hence, it can be easily enjoyed by most people without fearing nightmares or similar troubles. The story starts when the main character is murdered as he tries to help a stranded motorist. His son is kidnapped in the process, but thankfully the dad gets to come back as a ghost and go on a journey to rescue his son. Naturally, you play the role of the father, and the adventure starts near a haunted hotel that appears to be warded against spirits for some reason. Saving your son and discovering the secret behind the nature of why this Hotel is Haunted is where the incredible story lies, and it's a DOOZY.
As it’s always the case with HOPAs, most of your time is spent investigating the environments for items that allow you to unlock doors, repair other items, or simply complete puzzles. Speaking of which, the said puzzles almost always feature similar mechanics, even if the ideas appear to be different. In essence, the underlying goal of each puzzle is to find the correct pattern and apply it until the container/door is unlocked. The adventure maintains its appeal in spite of the somewhat repetitive gameplay mechanics, and it’s actually to be expected in the genre anyway. Thus, you can focus on the journey and the interesting environments you visit along the way, which are gorgeously represented thanks to the colorful artwork. Cut-scenes could have had better productions, but then again they relay much simpler ideas and events as well. I really enjoyed every moment of this latest installment and the bonus game. In the end, Haunted Hotel: The Thirteenth features the perfect mixture of horror and adventure, plus the challenge of the puzzles you tackle along the way. Hence, if you are a fan of the genre and you do not mind the repetitive missions, this can certainly keep you busy from start to finish.

The hidden object genre is not one that throws at us a ton of sci-fi, futuristic stories and you can imagine my surprise when I found out about Surface: Virtual Detective. Tackling the Virtual Reality trend that’s growing bigger and bigger in today’s real world and adapting it to the HOPA genre. In this latest installment of "Surface" you are working for the Virtual Detective Agency, investigating the growing number of people who go missing in a recently released Virtual Game, with them going comatose in the real life. The Capsule Nexus 2000 – the ultimate technology when it comes to VR – is Dr. Stein’s creation, but it certainly is not as safe and fun as it seemed at first. And when you bring a personal motive to the mix (your friend Jane goes missing in the game as well), things get even more intense! Although the game definitely has a more sci-fi approach than most hidden object adventure games out there, it’s still not too sci-fi so that those who are not really fans of the genre can’t enjoy the game itself! And this is a good thing because not everybody might be as happy as I was when I saw Surface: Virtual Detective available. And you know what made me extremely happy as well? You can create your character in this game, which is an extremely welcome addition for the male gamer (such as myself), since one can get a bit bored eventually to play the female lover who has to save the day over and over again. So kudos to Elephant Games for making this choice!
Regarding the gameplay, I only have words of praise. The hidden object scenes and minigames that you have to play and solve throughout your adventure are really well made! Attention has been paid to details and the developers did their best to stick to the theme of the game. You’ll have some surprise encounters along the way, as well as some intense – if not outright scary – moments every here and there, which is always a bonus. The HOS the game throws at us are varied and nice, with everything you can wish from a modern game, from mini HOP scenes to multi-step ones and everything in between. The mini-games and puzzles are, as I said, following the story quite nicely and they are inventive and fun to play, even though simple at times. The graphics are, however, the strongest point of the game. Attention has been paid to detail in all scenes, the characters are beautifully drawn and everything looks amazing. Nicely acted voice overs add to the value of the game, complementing the beautiful visuals and taking everything to the next level. Everything is done right in Surface: Virtual Detective! This is the SE version. The Collector’s Edition comes with the regular bling you’d expect from it: an extra chapter, re-playable scenes and puzzles, collectibles and extra art items to enjoy. A good selection of things that any gamer would now consider the norm for a Collector’s Edition title. All in all, Surface: Virtual Detective is a brilliant, beautiful and extremely fun game. It certainly comes as a breath of fresh air in the genre and I love its approach: from the near future sci-fi settings, to the beautiful characters and scenes, all the way to the voiceovers and entertaining story. This one’s a must play!
I recommend this game!

Most ghost stories usually start and end the same way, given the fact that the spirits eventually get banished and the people they haunt get back to their lives. However, it’s the journey that matters, and you can get a different experience out of the same concept if the writers do their jobs. Hence, there are thousands of ghost stories out there, and many of them have what it takes to keep you engaged. This edition just didn't deliver for me. A haunted school full of troubled students was somewhat juvenile to me. Spirit of Revenge: A Test of Fire is an adventure game with hidden object mechanics and a few puzzles to enrich the experience. It doesn’t differ too much from the rest of the HOPAs out there, but then again this allows you to get right down to business and not worry about getting to terms with new gameplay mechanics. On the other hand, sometimes it’s nice to have some originality thrown into the mix. The story revolves around a girl-only school that appears to be haunted by some kind of malevolent spirit. The students there are quite traumatized by the events, and they all require your help to get back to normal and get rid of the ghosts. Thankfully, you have all the right tools to achieve that, so it’s only a matter of catching the spirits and sending them back to their world.
Although most of your time is spent trying to spot the useful items hidden in the scenery, there are also puzzles that need to be solved in order to unlock the way forward. Some of these puzzles are actually mini-games like match-3 and jigsaw, but other require a bit of tinkering before you find the solution. In any case, none of them are particularly tough, especially if you are a long-time fan of the genre. Lastly, the graphics are about as simple as you would expect from a HOPA, which means that the artwork is the strongest element. There are no three-dimensional environments to explore and not many animations, but at least the cutscenes are pretty decent, at least if you lower your expectations a little bit. Furthermore, the dialog is fully voice-acted, so that helps with the atmosphere. All in all, Spirit of Revenge: A Test of Fire is somewhat suspenseful, especially if you like puzzles and a mystery. However, it lacks any kind of originality in the gameplay department, so you have to make peace with that from the start. I have played all the games in this series, I hope the next installment is comparable to previous editions.
I recommend this game!

For a game about wizards and magic, Myths of the World: Bound by the Stone is probably the least “magical” game ever. In fact, this game was such a snooze-fest to me that I really did not care to even try to properly follow the plot. The storyline develops at a snail pace, the characters lack motivation and depth, and the whole theme of the game just turns out to be very dull. The fact that the production in this game is one of Eipix’s worst also does more harm than good to the already-uninteresting game. The graphics are sparse and lack the amount of details Eipix usually excels at. Besides, the washed-out colors and the brown hues make the game even more lifeless, which is the last thing needed at this point. Shifting the focus to the audio side, things seem to fair a little better. The game keeps its background music to a minimal, which is certainly not a bad thing – but considering how boring the game is, a louder music might be more appropriate. As for the voice-overs, they are professionally done, nothing outstanding. Sadly, Myths of the World: Bound by the Stone is no place for creativity either. As an avid HOPA fan, I found the adventure part of the game to be very tedious, pointless, and again, boring. There is nothing in the game that we have not seen before and the Medallion that can be used to fight off dark magic doesn’t really make the game remotely more interesting. Thankfully, the hidden object scenes and the puzzles are at least well-executed. Both of them are certainly not revolutionary, but entertaining nonetheless. Myths of the World: Bound by the Stone took me four hours to complete, although it felt much longer with the hour it took completing the bonus game. I would use a game coupon on this SE. The Collector’s Edition includes all the standards; a strategy guide, a bonus chapter, wallpapers, soundtracks, concept art, videos, re-playable Skipping Stones games, re-playable hidden object scenes, re-playable puzzles, achievements, a souvenir room, collectibles, and morphing objects. I hope this series continues and improvements made to the next edition. If you are new to Myths of the World Series check out these editions......

Hidden Expedition: The Lost Paradise is now the thirteenth game in this classic HOPA series, and it seems like the developer still has a few tricks up their sleeves. First of all, the landscapes and sceneries in this installment is mesmerizing; filled with exotic locations and interestingly-designed themes. It is definitely a plus that this is accompanied by an engaging story, that might not be totally unique, but contains enough exciting twists and turns to make us want to know more. Additionally, the production team did a great job with the sights and sounds. As mentioned, the scenes in Hidden Expedition: The Lost Paradise are fascinating to look at and the colorful and crisp graphics only take that point further. Music wise, the Cuban vibe is spot-on and carries the mood of the game very well. Besides, the voice-overs are equally impressive. Hidden Expedition: The Lost Paradise is definitely not here to revolutionize the genre, as most of the time, the game is pretty predictable. Frequent HOPA players will likely find the adventure part of the game to be fairly simple, but not the same can be said about the hidden object scenes and the puzzles. The hidden object scenes are almost always multi-layered, and at times very innovative. The puzzles are more challenging, and they are smartly integrated into the storyline.
I played Hidden Expedition: The Lost Paradise on the easiest difficulty mode, rarely skipped any puzzles, and completed the game in around 4.5 hours. We highly recommend the Collector’s Edition as it comes ready with tons of bonuses; a bonus chapter, a strategy guide, wallpapers, videos, concept art, soundtracks, achievements, collectibles, morphing objects, a souvenir room, re-playable hidden objects, and re-playable puzzles. If you are new this series I recommend collecting all of them.
