You saved an ancient golden artifact that was stolen from the Museum of History and defeated the powerful demon Rhitoris in The Legacy: Prisoner. This time around, Diana is faced with her most challenging test thus far. She must return and re-explore the expedition site with co-pilot Sebastian at an archipelago cluster of islands in hope of finding the HEART of the tree of might. The Cure to a catastrophic viral epidemic (unleased from mysterious insects out of one of the museums exhibits retrieved on the recent exhibition) lies just beyond The Gate of the World inside the Dragon Palace. The Dragon Palace contains the gate that allows Diana to travel to other worlds and bring back the wonders they contain. Will she find the cure in time to save everyone from this awful pandemic and defeat a villainous vixen???
Time is racing and Diana must make multiple visits into unknown territories including: • Island Temple • Dead World • Blooming Valley and • The Mountain Summits
Almost insurmountable tasks await her at each of these locations which will totally surprise fans of this epic adventure filled with action packed suspense, mystery, and intrigue. The realistic visuals, the creative location designs and the exquisite special effects in this game are the epitome of casual adventures. Moreover, the epic cutscenes and smooth animations are also worth a shout out. On the audio side, the mysterious vibe of the music is incredible and the voice-acting is impeccable. Five-BN is always adept at crafting interesting hidden object scenes and the ones in this game do not disappoint with their beautifully layered scenes and smart interactions. Kudos to Five-BN for this highly anticipated new release...I hope everyone enjoys this awesome addition to one of the best games offered by Big Fish this year. Cheers!
This adventure game was released in 2016, It is a year that's going to forever live in infamy. It's the year in which the UK decided it'd be better off divided from the EU. Thankfully, Her Majesty's SPIFFING is here to put it all to rights by sending it up with some rollicking British humor, picking up with a tale set in this most horrible of years. Yes, it's an adventure game that pokes fun at Brexit. Tally-ho!
STORY: Here's how it all kicks off: the Queen, no longer content with the dunderhead politicians in Westminster running the government, decides to launch the HMSS Imperialise into outer space. Hitting the big red button, the oh-so British spacecraft (half-Mini Cooper, half Harrier jump jet) blasts off straddling Big Ben (or what's now known as Elizabeth Tower, if you're a stickler for these things), carrying members of the Special Planetary Investigative Force For Inhabiting New Galaxies (SPIFFING), Frank Lee English and his sarcastic Welsh sidekick, Aled Jones. English and Jones are a likeable wise-cracking duo too, Her Majesty's SPIFFING delivering its own line of satirical tongue-in-cheek humor via its two lead characters. English is an endearing patriotic fool, while Jones is his sardonic foil, always keen to point out the game's genre conventions as and when they crop up. SPIFFING is brilliantly knowing and self-referential, stuffed with homages and nods to other games like Resident Evil and Mass Effect, as well as classic movies like Airplane, Alien, Die Hard, Jurassic Park and Planet of the Apes. It never fails to raise a smirk. Vitally, however, Her Majesty's SPIFFING is not only a genuinely funny adventure, but also excels in serving up some pretty strong puzzles that put your grey matter through its paces. There's never anything too complicated, but there's a sense of accomplishment when you do manage to wrap your head around some of the game's conundrums. Fittingly, it all starts with English making a cup of tea before the duo look to stake their claim on a barren, lifeless planet. Its stereotypes, daft puzzles and secrets are also brilliantly referenced in the game's smart trophy list, which rewards you for prodding at the envelope a bit, experimenting with various interactions that you could quite easily miss otherwise. Go through the motions, simply solving SPIFFING's puzzles in workmanlike fashion, and you'll miss a great deal of the game's humor and silly observations. It's definitely worth exploring and spending a little extra time messing around aboard the HMSS Imperialise. Wearing its Monty Python and other Brit comedy influences on its sleeve, Her Majesty's SPIFFING is a uniquely British adventure game packed with wry wit and a playful sense of fun that's more than welcome in a year of political upset. A game that uses Brexit as its jumping off point, Her Majesty's SPIFFING deals with its subject in a suitably knockabout manner, providing plenty of gleefully silly puzzles, some mildly biting satire and sharp one-liners. Developer Billy Goat has chucked in a bit of everything that more than a few of the jokes are guaranteed to land, even if you're not a cynical old Brit like me. Her Majesty's SPIFFING is fun, funny and well worth playing if you have the patience. It's almost enough to bring a patriotic tear to the eye.
MECHANICS: Though the game has no instructions, I thought I could include some helpful tips on navigating through the adventure. This point and click old school adventure can be tricky. Your cursor has multiple uses here are examples. When you click on an object of interest you should see the following choices: • Hand (Interact / Grab) • Magnifying glass (Examining objects) • Mouth (Talking to or listen to conversation) • Backpack (Use Inventory Items) Also pay close attention to the dots at the top, bottom, left and right of your screen, click on these for direction arrows to move around. When you want to use the back pack LEFT CLICK on it so you can use inventory item, examine, or combine inventory items. Pay attention to the instructions regarding the hourglass as other reviewer's have commented about...consider yourself warned! (LOL) As for quitting the game to break, I haven't found a way to close / save the game other than using Ctrl-Alt-Delete. If anyone knows an alternative please let reviewers know.
BASIC OBJECTIVES: Retrieve a refreshing beverage for your colleague, Sub Lieutenant Jones. Fly the ship while Sub Lieutenant Jones take his tea break. Find something to replace the damaged cockpit controls. Install the driver to activate the controller in the cockpit. Reboot the ship's computer systems using the reset switch on the lower deck. Locate and talk to Sub Lieutenant Jones. Find something Aled can use to replace the rover's broken motor. Explore the planet surface. Locate the wreckage of the Beagle Two Too. Lure Antoine and Pierre away from the French camp. Remove the Tricolor and hoist the Union Flag. There is a lot more to do than this, so pay attention to the dialogue for an in depth synopsis of what to do throughout the game. If by chance you become frustrated with the objectives, there is as commentary free WALK THROUGH available on youtube. I'm not suggesting you watch the entire video...that would spoil the entire game. Perhaps, only watch the first few minutes to familiarize yourself with the FLOW of the game.
I thought the music was perfect for this game and the voice acting is superbly delivered, peppering its writing with the right amount of sarcasm to go with its humor. A fair bit of screen tearing rears its head when you're running around as Frank Lee English, but otherwise, everything looks very solid and nicely detailed. SPIFFING is not a bad looking game at all. I also think this adventure is worth playing through more than once to mop up all of its political satire and pop culture references, SPIFFING lasts a good 2-3 hours, boasting some smart puzzles and a little bit of lateral thinking, all injected with a sly sense of humor. Not content to cram loads of references and nods into the game, Billy Goat has chucked a bunch into its trophy list too. That it's also a good, solid list is a pleasant surprise. Great stuff. Who'd have thought that a game ostensibly about Brexit could not only be so funny, but also provide a selection of clever puzzles to boot? Her Majesty's SPIFFING is all of these things and therefore an adventure game you should most certainly play, if only for a little bit of levity with which to reflect on the year 2016. Cheers and happy gaming!
WOW! 4 Friends really succeeded in delivering another incredible installment in this 5th edition to their stellar series Immortal love. Like all prior edition's of Immortal Love this story is a continuation of the series central theme...which always raises the question: Do you have what it takes to rescue your beloved? I think most fans will agree, the answer is a resounding YES!
During his wedding proposal you soon realize Travis Montgomery’s loved one Valerie has fallen ill with a mysterious disease. Desperate to find the cure, Travis accepted an offer for a potion from a stranger in the village without knowing the full price he has to pay. After taking the potion along with Valerie, Travis wakes up in a coffin to discover that Valerie has been abducted by the Vampire Master’s clan! Valerie's fate now rests in the hands of Travis and he'll do whatever it takes to rescue his true love!!!
It's an engaging and exquisite gothic love story which plays like an Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles novel. I was mesmerised as soon as I began playing this game, like I was transfixed by staring into the eyes of a Vampire, it was really awesome IMHO! For players who aren't Vampire enthusiasts you'll probably want to skip this edition, likewise some fans will be disappointed because none of the characters in the game become vampires by being bitten in the neck (LOL).
Immortal Love: Kiss of the Night definitely features some very interesting story elements, especially the premise of hunters versus vampires, which made me appreciate this unique approach 4 Friends developers took. Advanced HOPA players will have no trouble progressing through Immortal Love: Kiss of the Night. The core of the game remains quite standard, tasks that need to completed are straightforward, and of course there is a magical Dragon Bracelet that equips you with certain powers. The hidden object scenes and the puzzles are considerably creative and ties in well with the vampire theme of the game. The game is also elevated by a wonderful production. The visuals are up to 4 Friends Games’ usual unbelievably high standards. Every single aspect is crafted to perfection, from the epic cinematics to the tiniest details in the scenes. The music also works to enhance the “magical” quality of the game, there is never a dull moment in the game’s stunning soundtracks.
All in all, Immortal Love: Kiss of the Night is one immersive adventure which is incredibly well-made and very enjoyable. Definitely worthy of Editor's Choice award and the 5 star rating. I finished the main game in a little under six hours, and the bonus chapter in an hour. I purchased the Collector’s Edition which includes a great bonus game as well as all the expected CE features; a strategy guide, wallpapers, screensavers, concept art, soundtracks, videos, re-playable hidden object scenes, re-playable puzzles, achievements, collectibles, and morphing objects. Cheers!
In this series (4 out of 5 *Editor's Choice) • Immortal Love: Letter From The Past * • Immortal Love 2: The Price of a Miracle * • Immortal Love: Blind Desire • Immortal Love: Black Lotus * • Immortal Love: Kiss of the Night *
What an exciting adventure to celebrate Halloween and just as enticing to play as last year's Halloween Stories: Invitation. This time you play the role of Jen tasked with saving your sister Mary from the ominous wicked witch Delilah. She was brutally murdered by townies who suspected her of abducting children in the community. Now she's back with a vendetta of revenge from anyone who has betrayed her in years past...but why target Jen and her sister? Find out in this tantalizing tell of terror; and what may possibly be the best Halloween game you'll play this season.
This tumultuous task will definitely be one party-goers will engage in and Elephant games have made it spooktacular!!! The heart-pounding music and the creepy ambient sounds also help increase the suspense of the game. Most of the HOP's offer a small interactive puzzle to solve. Don't forgot to look for the Morphing Object in each scene. More than worthy of a 5 star rating and a must-buy for me. Happy Halloween gamers!!!
What an incredible gaming experience Domini has developed for fans of this popular series! This edition may prove to be a contender for "one of the best games in 2018".
When businessman Lloyd Collins (owner of several shopping malls in the town of Dawnwood) decides to recruit a team of Architectural designers for an abandoned movie theater purchased at an auction; he gets more than he bargained for when it becomes apparent that the property is haunted by a deceased eccentric movie director named Sebastian Fleming.
After enlisting the help team of designers lead architect Maya Sanders suddenly goes missing soon after the refurbishing of the movie theater begins. Chloe McGee also works with Maya in the architect firm and is presumed M.I.A. too. Now it's up to you to take on an investigation that blends elements of horror with witty humor and a story that will make you laugh and cringe from the moment you begin playing until the convoluted conclusion of this enticing new addition to Mystery Tales.
You will also receive a little assistance in your investigation from deceased associates of Sebastian including ghostly actor's Veronica Sullivan and Lenny Gilmore...frequently cast in Sebastian Flemings horror flicks who are now deceased due to Sebastian's flare for making horror movies where people actually die in real life. You get to know their stories with your newly acquired "Paranormal Smart phone" since you broke the glasses that Freya gave you in the previous Mystery Tales game. Sebastian meets his demise while shooting his latest film "Night of Evil" when a Frankenstein electrical surge set prop containing too much current kills him. Now he's emerged from the spirt world into the world of the living to finish his masterpiece movie to prove he shall create the most realistic horror film ever! One that promises to feed on the fears of a living audience that will satisfy his creepy cravings and give him enough paranormal power to cross over into the real world forever. Will you be able to stop him???
Mystery Tales series returns with a stellar production, as expected from this seasoned developer. The graphics are some of the best I have seen from this series, perfectly balance highly-saturated colors with mesmerizing artwork details. Furthermore, the quality of the cut-scenes is also very impressive – the smooth animations and stunning visual effects breathe life into this extremely entertaining six (6) hour game. How can you go wrong when you combine an asthmatic who happens to be police investigator Harold Jefferson's daughter, her epileptic co-designer Chloe, and a cast of comedic ghostly characters...it's just so beautifully bizarre, funny and full of unexpected quirky tasks that uses unconventional inventory items too! This is my favorite Mystery Tales installment so far. I love it when Domini developer's surprise fans with such genius. I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did. Cheers!
In this series: •Mystery Tales: The Lost Hope •Mystery Tales: The Twilight World •Mystery Tales: Alaskan Wild •Mystery Tales: Her Own Eyes •Mystery Tales: Eye of the Fire •Mystery Tales: The Hangman Returns •Mystery Tales: The House of Others •Mystery Tales: Dangerous Desires •Mystery Tales: The Other Side •Mystery Tales: The Reel Horror
This is one fairy tale adaptation that the brilliant team at Five-BN created for everyone who loved 'Jack and the Beanstalk' during their childhood. It will be an interesting turn of events when you find your brother Edward who's been imprisoned by the GREEDY Mayor of Etherfall. It seems he's been hoarding the golden treasures for himself while using some of it to bring economic prosperity back to Etherfall. Now you must free Edward and the Mayor's daughter Candy in an effort to help Edward plant the magic beans he needs to climb the beanstalk, reach the Cloud Kingdom and return the stolen treasures to the enraged Giants that Basil the Cat holds in his treasure chest.

Living Legends: Fallen Sky offers an exciting new perspective on a beloved story, which quickly draws you into the storyline and keeps you engaged throughout the entire game. Gamer's of all ages and every level are sure to enjoy this latest installment. Kudos to Big Fish and Five-BN for bringing another winning edition to this popular series. A definite purchase for me. This is episode 3 in Madhead’s amazing Beyond series and just like the previous games, Light Advent and Star Descendant, this latest release is another out-of-this-world sci-fi masterpiece. Madhead developers really showcase their best work for this genre in the field of HOPA gaming.
Amelia has been searching for her brother Reggie since separated during childhood when he was abducted by an alien race known as the “Galactic Force” while playing in their treehouse. Years have gone by and now Amelia is grown. She decides to visit the home she grew up after receiving a letter which she believes was recently written by her missing brother. When she arrives at the now abandoned family home she encounters a confrontation with a sinister being (aka eradicators) that frightens her into fleeing to a nearby hotel. There she learns from Nico (an elite member of the Galactic Force) that her brother Reggie is not only alive but is a Sentinel for the Galactic Force, chosen to defend mankind from a deadly contagion whose aim is to destroy everything by consuming planet Earth. Now you must find Reggie by traveling into space aboard a space station and rescue him; for he is the only one who knows how to stop this devious destructive plot. This will be a monumental under taking since the Eradicators (robot agents of the Contagion) will go to extreme lengths to stop you from progressing in the adventure. Your only hope is to journey with Reggie, contact the Elders of the Galactic Union to use their omnipotent Crystal weapon power and convince them to help you defeat the Eradicator robots and bring the crystal weapon to the heart of the contagion fleet and destroy their HORRID QUEEN!
From the get go, I was absolutely hyped about this latest Beyond edition and it really exceeded my expectations. The storyline itself is entertaining enough on its own, but it also helps that Beyond: The Fading Signal has a top-of-the-shelf production. The visuals in the game are totally gorgeous; the artwork is creative, the vibrant colors are attractive, and even the animations are flawless. Moreover, the music comes in a nice variety that adds elements of excitement and suspense to the game. It is a no-brainer to go for the Collector’s Edition for this game; having also included a great bonus chapter, strategy guide, wallpapers, soundtracks, character biographies, achievements, collectibles, morphing objects, re-playable puzzles, and re-playable hidden object scenes. This is one of the best games offered in 2018 and I hope everyone who enjoys this series will have a blast playing this one. I highly recommend it for players of every level. Cheers!
A petrified dragon named Gromoss has been found and Patricia, Empress of the Tar-Liss empire, wanted it displayed at her palace immediately despite Dr. Klein's warnings. Unbeknownst to her, this dragon has a long and complicated relationship with the realm of humans and is now back for his revenge! As an honored healer of the Imperium Medico, can you find a way to tame this vengeful dragon and save the Tar-Liss kingdom?
It's another winning achievement for these seasoned developers at Domino, especially given how long it takes to complete the entire adventure. Depending on your level of experience one can expect 6 - 8 hours of gameplay in this latest edition of Enchanted Kingdom. I am an avid fan of Domino games but in this new sequel, the predictable plot centers around a vengeful dragon and a backstory that dates back centuries. This is certainly not anything that hasn't been touched upon before by the HOPA genre, and it would have helped if Domini had added some unique and creative twists. As it is, every beat and every turn of Enchanted Kingdom: The Fiend of Darkness feel familiar.
With regard to gameplay; it also feels too familiar. While the overall mechanics of the gameplay are well-constructed, Enchanted Kingdom: The Fiend of Darkness does not give the impression that the developers have put much thought into creating it. The hidden object scenes could have been more detailed and the puzzles are middle-of-the-road (some puzzles are also mundane IMHO). The adventure aspect of gameplay could be easily completed even if the player isn't totally engaged because this edition could have contained more challenges and brain teasers. That said; the length of this game compensates for the lack of challenging tasks and thinking "outside of the box". It's why I felt this installment was worthy of four stars.
Despite a few neat ideas regarding the scene design and some great visual effects, Enchanted Kingdom: The Fiend of Darkness failed to impress me with its artistic visuals. The over-saturation of blue and purple limits the diversity of the scenes which makes it less attractive and other reviewer's have commented on this as well. However, I was really surprised by the quality of the audio. Enchanted Kingdom: The Fiend of Darkness features various non-distracting, magical soundtracks that are not repetitive. The developers efforts with the voice-overs are incredible and wonderfully portray each character which gamers will appreciate during this LONG PLAYING adventure.
You really do get your money's worth whether you chose the CE or SE version. I chose the CE version for the bonus chapter during the weekend sale. The Collector’s Edition does not feature anything extraordinary; an unnecessary strategy guide, wallpapers, soundtracks, concept art, re-playable hidden object scenes, re-playable mini-games, achievements, collectibles, morphing objects, and a laboratory. Players may want to use a game coupon for this SE as they expire quickly and if you purchase the CE you may want to wait for the promotional sale. Cheers!
On your hot air ballon trip to explore Polynesia, an accident leaves you on an unfamiliar island. You are then met by the Princess Hina of Raiatea, who accuses you of conspiring with a national thief. You quickly learn about the powerful artifact that has recently gone missing from the island’s safekeeping. Can you hunt down the artifact and clear your name before the thief uses it to summon the ultimate evil?
To no one’s surprise, this latest installment in the overstayed Myths of the World franchise is another cookie-cutter offering IMHO. Even worse, the storyline this time around is not even remotely interesting, if fact you may find it boring. Myths of the World: Fire from the Deep bypasses historical context that has made some of the previous installments so thrilling and focuses on the derivative plot with one-dimensional uninteresting characters.
It also certainly does not help that the locations and sceneries featured in Myths of the World: Fire from the Deep are unfortunately uninspired. While the quality of the visuals is solid, the familiar-looking scene designs as well as the slightly muted color palate do not work in the favor of this already-dull adventure. On a positive note, the background music beautifully matches the exotic theme of the game and never veers in the zone of being distracting.
The most disappointing factor for me was that Myths of the World: Fire from the Deep seemed to be designed for elementary school kids, considering how easy the game is. Veteran HOPA players will have no problem racing through the game with minimal reliance on the Hint feature (if at all). Moreover, the magical Shell feature that allows you to talk to the elements feels unnecessary and out-of-place. As for the puzzles, they are the same-old types we have seen a hundred times before. The hidden object scenes are relatively more entertaining, due to their higher level of challenge and complexity. For me, this edition just didn't meet my expectations and although it may be a mediocre installment, it's at least worthy of a free game coupon. Cheers!
In this series: •Myths of the World: Chinese Healer •Myths of the World: Stolen Spring •Myths of the World: Spirit Wolf •Myths of the World: Of Fiends and Fairies •Myths of the World: Black Rose •Myths of the World: The Heart of Desolation •Myths of the World: The Whispering Marsh •Myths of the World: Born of Clay and Fire •Myths of the World: Bound by the Stone •Myths of the World: The Black Sun •Myths of the World: Fire of Olympus •Myths of the World: Behind the Veil •Myths of the World: Love Beyond •Myths of the World: Fire from the Deep
A story of two (2) royal knights, Edmund and Randall Ulmer, who are tricked into a conspiracy against the crown. Pursued by the royal guard and ruthless conspirators, the brothers embark on a dangerous journey that will uncover the kingdom's shameful secrets, restore the honor of the Ulmer family and change their fate forever...
Kingmaker Rise to the Throne is about two royal knights brothers who were falsely accused of killing the king. Randall was captured for various of reasons and has a hidden secret which Edmund will find out later as he is trying to sneak around in the town, and hide from the guards eyes. He will do everything in his power to save his brother and retake the throne. You'll learn the backstory about the king and what he did to his son years ago. I'm not going to spoil the story further because it is more fun to play it than read it in a review. Playing as a MALE PROTAGONIST is rare in this genre, I commend the developers for changing what gamers have been used to in the HOPA industry. The first thing I loved about this game is the art. The developers did a great job with the artwork and each location has a nice atmosphere which gives players the feeling of it being abandoned. The rain effect played out nicely too as well as the music which I was so happy to see included in the 'Extras' menu.
The hidden objects scenes are well made and not recycled, you won't visit the same scene twice and the fun part they included are the three types of hidden objects scenes (Shadow, words, fragment). Puzzles were nice and easy to solve, however there is this 'fight puzzle' which requires you to connect the dots without crossing the same line twice, those are repetitive but some of them are quite difficult to solve without trying a couple of times. There is an achievement for solving it from first try!
Voice actors did a great job too, I liked the authentic accent of the two brothers, especially Randall, but sometimes I mixed up the two brother's voices and didn't know who was talking since both of their voices are quite similar, thankfully the dialogue subtitle colors are different. I also enjoyed the addition of the game providing us with a fast traveling map, although there isn't a lot of a backtracking, I still like the ability of jumping from an area to another. What I dislike is the lack of journals entries because I like reading the story notes. There is no way you can check the past events or the scattered papers and clues you'll find around, all what you have is an objective 'tasks' journal.
I chose to play the CE for the bonus game and the achievements. Like any CE game from this genre, you can collect extra items for achievements. This collectible however 'The king's symbol' will glow next to the hint button whenever you go to the scene and the 'collectible' is there for you to pick. There is a total of 29 of them in the main chapter and 11 in the bonus chapter. There are also extra tasks like petting all animals and feeding them. Those tasks give the game a replay value which I appreciate. I highly recommend this Artifex Mundi Premium Adventure game and collaborating with Cordelia was a brilliant idea on behalf of the developers. Cheers!
