Wow am I mad at myself! I bought this game during the two for one sale based on someone else's recommendation. I must never do that again. Had I seen the child-like cartoon drawings and "heard" the lack of voice overs on the demo, I would have exited unscathed. As it is, I'm kicking myself for losing money on this one.
Bottom line: Old fashioned cartoon quality, no voice overs, easy, lots of reading, all clues have sparkles, only one level of play.
I don't recommend this game.

BASED ON COMPLETED GAME ON HARDEST LEVEL
This is a relaxing yet captivating game. If you like ghosts and mysteries, you will love this story line. In addition, the graphics are gorgeous and the scenery keeps changing so that you will not get bored. There are LOTS of puzzles, none of them difficult. The HOS are easy on the eyes. I found myself really drawn into the story and moving at a fast clip to see what was next. It's much like reading a book that you can't put down, you keep turning the pages. So I found this game, I kept turning the next corner. There is nothing to hate about this game and everything to enjoy. My only tiny complaint, the reason it's not a five, is that it's so easy. Other than that, it's a must play.
Bottom line: ghosts+mystery+puzzles=fun!
I recommend this game!

I really loved playing this game. It has everything I like; a ghost, mystery and adventure. The music is beautiful to listen to as you go. Playing this game is a lot like watching an hour mystery drama. It flows seamlessly from beginning to end with gorgeous graphics, interesting puzzles and creative solutions to situations. I liked how I (the main character) was often getting into harm's way and having to recover from or think my way out of them. The character voice overs are well done and help to make for immersion into their world while the story logically and sequentially traps you into the tragedy. The HOS were unpredictable and fun, but not too hard. All of the games were easily doable which kept the story moving. I didn't need any hints or a map, so I don't know if there were any (oops, sorry.) My only tiny complaint is the comic book character feel to the drawings. I would like them to look more realistic. A HUGE plus with this game is that, with the exception of ONE item (and nope not telling you which it is ;) there is virtually NO backtracking. All of the objects are found in close proximity to where they are used. Kudos to the devs for that!!! I also like the way the game is divided into chapters with titles. I thought that was cool. The only reason I'm not giving this a 5 is because it's a bit too easy. Other than that, it's really wonderful.
Bottom line; loads of fun, lovely story, logical progression, doable games and HOS, enjoyable story line which wraps up nicely. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

You will enjoy this game. The story draws you in right at the beginning and keeps you moving through the game at a fast clip. The HOS and mini games are doable and fun. There are many unique features about the game which I won't spoil, but I loved those. The graphics could be better as these characters were rather cartoon-like and I prefer more realism, but that's my personal preference. The music moved me emotionally into the game at just the right moments. At times, it actually made me feel sad or anxious for the characters. The voice overs are generally well done with a few minor exceptions here and there. I was able to complete the game without hints or a map because the devs kept the backtracking to a bare minimum (yes!) I was able to follow the story easily so that little guesswork was involved. I think this game is suitable for all levels of players, but if you're an expert, you may find it a bit easy. As for me, although I completed it easily, I had a really good time doing it. Good game! Have fun!
I recommend this game!

BASED ON COMPLETED GAME PLAY ON HARD MODE
This game is fun for an afternoon. It's nothing new story-wise, the graphics are so-so and the music is adequate. The HOS had some of what I call "shadow" scenes where you have the outline of an object and have to find what it is. I'm not crazy about shadow scenes, but they were pretty easy. There was nothing "wow!" about this game, but nothing bad about it either. I would say it's suitable for a beginner because I was able to breeze through it without hints. There is a jump map, always a good thing.
I do have to point out that both the flint for the fire and the boards for the ladder were invisible ONCE THEY WERE ADDED to my inventory. The were still there, just invisible. In order to use them, I had to click on them and estimate where they were on the screen because I couldn't see them. I didn't find this glitch enough to make me dislike the game, but thought I'd tell you all how to get around the problem.
Bottom line, it's a fun game, but no masterpiece.
I recommend this game!

BASED ON COMPLETED GAME AND BONUS FEATURES ON EXPERT LEVEL
I liked the way this game picked up it's story from the first game and took me into another layer of the story. I like following the same characters in a series of games. This game is fun, no doubt about it. There are many different scenes and scenery so that if you don't like one area, you will probably like another one further along. I'm kind of blase about what to write for my review because the game didn't leave much of a lasting impression on me. I found the story concept of turning the projectors on and off to take me into movie settings very interesting, but at times, having to run back and forth turning them on and off became an irritant. Another thing I didn't like about this game was that it showed me things I needed to do but did not provide me the object to do it with until way, way down the line. That's a tease, I know, but if it's too long a wait, it's just annoying. In addition to that, often I would find an object and have to hang onto it for what seemed like forever before I could use it. There were two occasions where an item was used for a nonsensical purpose. Those are my only complaints, though. The rest of the game is very nice. It has a jump map which takes you wherever you want to go which is a huge help. The live characters and acting are likewise pleasant. The music is appropriate as well. The IHOS are easy, but there are one or two puzzles that take a little thought,. The bonus chapter was ok, but probably not worth the extra expense of buying the CE, but I really enjoyed the interactive office visit with the devs. That was cool.
Bottom line, this is a good game. You'll have fun with it and the story will keep you moving, but it has one or two annoying "habits" I wish weren't in there. If you can ignore these "habits" I think you will enjoy this game a lot.
I recommend this game!

BASED ON COMPLETED GAME & BONUS CHAPTER ON HARDCORE LEVEL WITHOUT HINTS
The first thing I have to comment on is that this game has the most English translation problems of any game I've ever played. Several sentences made no sense whatsoever....no kidding. Other sentences used a wrong word in an important place leaving me to wonder what I was supposed to find or do. A good example is "I can't pull the latch out, I can't catch to it" which referred to an item floating in a tank. Huh? The second thing I want to comment on is that this game frustrated me in that I would see something that needed to be done, but would not be provided with the item to complete the task until many, many scenes beyond it. The worst two incidences were the star-shaped screwdriver and the hedge shears which (SPOILER ALERT) the devs made me wait until the last moments of the game to receive. That meant I had to backtrack to the beginning to use these items. Speaking of backtracking, I hope you like to do it because a lot of it is required. I don't like that. I think it's a waste of my time. In addition, the story is so-so at best. It's not bad, it's just not good either. There is nothing about the story that compelled me forward. The reason I completed the game was simply because I paid for it. The music is, at times, non-existent. When it is present, it's adequate, but not exciting. The graphics are a bit too cartoon-like for me but the colors were vibrant. I liked the huge palette of hues they used in the scenes. The black monsters are not well formed, but I don't mind that. I'm into the game for the challenge, not the gore. I found the puzzles and IHOS easy but fun. The story is tied up on a positive note in the bonus chapter, which I DO think is worth buying. All in all, it's a pleasant game with LOTS to do and a decent story, but it's not a masterpiece. I think the devs really should have proofread the English before releasing it because I think it will cause some confusion for people. Bottom line, this game is MEDIOCRE.
I recommend this game!

This is just a fun game that features easy puzzles, an interesting story and fun HOS. It's not a masterpiece, but I really think people new to this genre or kids will enjoy this one. The voice overs are very well done and the graphics are gorgeous. The puzzles are interesting and simple. In addition, you have a dog as a helper, so what's not to enjoy? Just don't expect too much of a challenge.

BASED ON COMPLETED GAME IN NIGHTMARE MODE
I really enjoyed this game. I played on the most difficult level and was able to complete it in about 2 hours. Not very long, but it was really fun. It was much like going to a scary movie for 2 hours with your popcorn and getting a good scare. I personally like a game that makes sense and keeps me moving because I want to find out what happens next in the story. This game did that. I was excited by the layout of the house because it was easy to remember, like a real house. The grounds were logical as well. There is minimal back and forth-ing because you either use the item you just picked up or you are prevented from going backward. Yes! The puzzles were mostly unique or at least new to me and they were fun, fun, fun. I did not need to use either the hint (which was chained up in nightmare mode) or the skip button. The HOS were frequent, but had to do with advancing the story and I didn't find them to be annoying. Some of the items were cleverly hidden which I appreciated greatly. My only complaints would be that the blurry effect in the cut scenes was a little too pronounced, although necessary for the story. Also, the length was too short, but I wasn't upset about it since I got it as a freebie. The ending is tied up neatly and made me want to play another chapter or 15 .... lots of fun. Loved it.
I recommend this game!

BASED ON COMPLETED GAME ON "HARD" LEVEL
I love the Shadow Wolf Mysteries series. This game is no exception. It's a fantasy, murder mystery, and love story all in one. The story is easy to follow and with minor creative thinking I was able to complete all of the tasks and puzzles easily. This is not to say it's an easy game, but a game that makes sense. The IHOS are NOT JUNK PILES, a plus for me, although the scenes are a little cluttered. The puzzles are just plain fun. I like that the devs constructed the game so that back and forth movement was kept to a minimum. I also liked the way they had shops open sometimes and closed others depending on what you had done. That was cool. I also enjoyed the flag red herring....made me laugh when I did it, duh. I also found the mirror concept awesome because well, it's just like a scary movie and I love scary movies. The music is fantastic as far as I'm concerned. It was never intrusive and served to add excitement to the story. I also like the way some of the characters helped me....wow, that was a first. Also several scenes I found very new and creative, the bath scene is a good example. Perhaps if I had to be disappointed in anything, it was the elephant that I stressed over for quite a while before I could help him/her, but that added to the tension of the game. Also, the ending is a little abrupt, but it does tie the story up and left me wanting another chapter.
In summary: a fun game with some new twists that's not so difficult that you'll go crazy. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!
