I was so delighted with the Nick Chase games. They were excellent and laden with good, challenging puzzles. The storyline was great and it felt like I was actually inside the comic book...it just pulled me right in. The graphics, colors, characters, plot were all perfect for the comic book style detective story. The amazing voice of Nick Chase was beyond any other I have ever heard in a game. It was so typically noir-ish for a crime story (and me being an old lady, found it kind of sexy, lol !). The hint system was clever; each hint was a bullet hidden in a scene and were reloaded into the revolver in order to use the hint, there were 5. Easy to find.
The other Nick game, "The Deadly Diamond" was also excellent. I thought the ending was better, not as abrupt as in "The Detective Story". Both games were short but more than made up for it in entertainment value! I highly recommend these games, wish there were more than just two!
BUT....why am I unable to make any useful progress? I am totally stumped, seriously this has never happened to me before and I am not sissy gamer. Very embarrassing (lol) !!Lots of items in inventory, nowhere to use them. Every room I enter now says nothing more to do here. I am reading all the raving reviews, wanting to add my own. The map with footprints is so slow and makes me crazy. It does not jump. I just go round & round, back & forth, side to side with no results. HELP HELP HELP !!! The house is holding me against my will until I can get my brain cells in super gear.
Absolutely love the very scary demonic little boy, the angry animals and the hand. The house was done in such articulate detail with the beautiful yet creepy furnishings and atmosphere. I hope my light bulb clicks on soon so I can enjoy the game like everyone else. I agree, we need more games like this. Has anyone played Amnesia or Scratches?? Those can scare your pants off!! They are 2 of my Big Fish faves. Well, wish me luck folks. I refuse to quit.
Five stars it is, I highly recommend this game for being able to ruffle my feathers (lol).

Do yourself...and your kiddies a HUGE favor and purchase this game. You will not have spent a moment or a cent in regret. IMHO this is by far the very best Christmas game offered by Big Fish and shines brighter than all the other Christmas Stories. It is so cute and heartwarming and also has some laughs along the way. The characters are 99% cats, your helper as well is feline but not an annoying helper. The storyline is excellent and leads you to a very happy ending. It all starts in Cat Town. If you, like myself, are a cat lover, this is right up your alley. The game contains good challenges but not difficult to play, the graphics and colors are wonderful. Well, I thought EVERYTHING about this game was wonderful. Hopefully, you will enjoy this beautiful story as much as I did !!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it !! I just love the Hidden Expedition games. I own all of them and play a couple at a time. I am currently playing HE: The Uncharted Islands...the graphics are absolutely stunning ! Check it out and be pleasantly surprised. Everest was a lot of fun, excellent HO game. Very informative of all the different locations, the REAL videos were interesting as were the accompanying narratives. I loved the challenge of the very well hidden items and the colorful locations added to the fun, as did my colorful opponents who were trying to keep up with me. A couple of times they got too close for comfort. I enjoyed the additional puzzles/games, too. My one negative of my Everest trek is that rotating the puzzle pieces had to be done with the space bar and it slowed me down sometimes, simply because it was out of the norm and I lost precious game time just remembering to make that minor adjustment from mouse to bar. I just purchased the newest Expedition and I'm eager to get started. Hopefully more of these great Expedition games will be finding their way to the Big Fish inventory !

This being said, why does Big Fish have so few really good solitaire games? I own Chronicles of Emerland which is superior and 1/2 doz other great ones but still a notch under Emerland. Maybe those games have set too high a standard !Lots of solitaire lovers out here, developers, who are eager to purchase good games. There was minimal challenge, a few bonuses that really didn't help all that much and like the other 2 knight solitaires a serious lack of visuals & incentives to keep it interesting and challenging. According to the exciting game description that entices many of us to purchase, Knight Solitaire 2 should have delivered much more than it did. However, I do realize that this game will provide lots of fun for so many other gamers...just not for me.
This silly little game had me a feather away from stepping down from my expert level. A match 3 strategy game ! Easy, you say?!! Well, just give it a try and get ready to be surprised. The goofy looking birds and the silly sounds were so comical and entertaining. I had a spot of trouble learning the game-play but after a couple of failures I was in it for the long haul. What a clever game, so creative! One of my fave features was the cat being picked up and flown away. Also appreciated that not achieving the goal did not keep you from moving on into the game. Getting stuck and having to start over is very discouraging when you just want to have some stress free fun. I highly recommend this unusual little gem. A perfect change of pace. Even though match 3 appeals to so many young gamers, this one might not be so easy for all of them.

I went into the game expecting more than I got, but still giving it 5 stars. I loved the sound fx, the colors and graphics were nice, the HOs were fun, I really love "building" even if the structure and locale are pre-determined. Even with these pros, the game just was not satisfying enough. The points/coins earned were not generous, the few power-ups were just so-so, it took FOREVER to earn enough to buy an addition to restore the village and the end of the game was quite blah. However, it was 200 levels of stress-free enjoyment and I know the kids will especially love it and the big kids, too.
Huge disappointment! The opening scene showed promise of a very entertaining game. Good luck on progressing into it to even find out what it is about. The help system was shamefully unhelpful and I never did figure out what the magnifying glass did exactly. I felt just as stranded in this game as our survivor did on that island!!

This game really surprised me! Took a chance on the purchase with an expiring coupon. I love detective stuff so I went for it. I did not expect to enjoy it so much. It was like walking into the comic book and following Nick in his hunt for the diamond. There were no voice-overs, but not necessary here (IMO). Good storyline, nothing confusing, and had the right ending for closing the case. All the puzzles and HOs were excellent, there were many. The comic book graphics were colorful and well done. This is a standard version game but it contains mini games AND was happy to find a STRATEGY GUIDE. You will find them under extras in Mary Ann's wallet. This was a nice bonus, indeed! I liked assembling parts of machines and tools to help Nick get out of situations and also liked the characters although they were not seen in many of the scenes. Glad I "stepped out of the box" for this one and I will purchase the Nick Chase Detective Story, expecting just as much fun.

I absolutely love this game. Don't let the title scare you away. Mushroom Age is excellent entertainment. It is so silly...I laughed, smiled, enjoyed all the way through. Vera travels to other ages via a time-travel cell phone for which an eccentric old scientist is responsible. She's searching for her fiancé who misused the phone and disappeared just before the wedding day. Vera meets famous people who help her out during her journey and the characters, human and animal are great. The games, puzzles, HOGs are really good. I won't tell any more so as not to spoil the fun for you. Give it a try...I don't think you will be disappointed!
NOTE: Chapter 18 is tough, but don't give up! Also be careful exiting game, if you leave before completing a chapter you will lose all progress for that chapter.
