What would you do, if your best friend stole your loved one? Or if your peaceful pub, all of the sudden got attacked by an otherwise friendly spirit? Too many questions eh? Well, this game is beautifully crafted, with strong game play, ghosts flying around and helping you and an even better bonus story that puts everything under the right perspective: friendship above all. Hear, hear! Only remark: the game length-wise could be longer and with more scenes to explore.
This one, starts off a bit harsh but smooths out after the first 2-3 scenes. I really-really like the mini HOGs, where you must find particular smaller pieces that compose a bigger one and then the 3 components glued together give a whole, one big piece, most of the times magical! Although there’s room of improvement, artwork-wise, pass that, I quite enjoyed the actual game play. Tip: You might wanna lock your inventory; it's faster that way...
Whilst the story itself isn't the most unique one, and the whole flying-at-you-knifes becomes aggressive and boring in the end, overall this is really good game, with good (could be better) puzzles and lots of gameplay. Just a quick hint about the morphing objects you can collect throughout every scene (so you can make your gamer's life a bit easier): The collecting objects are in fact morphing shapes that transform into puzzle pieces. So look out for anything that stands out of the ordinary or becomes blur, thus changing form.
After my initial shock (that’s a negative feeling…), where I saw, in the very first scene, a sketch book rather than a completed game, the artwork and gameplay became smoother. But once I landed on the backyard, I started living the game. I really liked the idea of highlighting the object that you’re about to use on something; just like in the adventure games! And I also liked the boy’s voice. Now, for some reason, in the mini HOGs the message/writing on the bottom was so small and faint, that it seriously was no fun at all. So, as you go deeper into the game, it really smooths out and finds a very good tempo with nice graphics. And I think it’s the first game, that (by default) the volume of speech (of the characters) is lower than the rest of the game, rather than having characters or the narrator screaming at you. At last!
P.S. Try and remember to use your dragon friend often (he serves as your private lighter!)
P.S. 2 It’s has one of the most generous Wallpaper bonuses I’ve ever come across
P.S. 3 You might wanna lock your inventory chest, since you’re gonna be using it a lot!
So, this is a pretty solid game, somewhat different than its previous stories. But I wish they could refine they artwork and the whole feeling that you get while playing it. It just lacks... something. You've got many things to explore, search for, combine and try, so for sure in this game you won't be bored! I particularly liked the venture machine puzzle, although there were others that had a difficulty or better a complexity in them, that was unnecessary.
A well crafted game, with beautiful artwork and lots of things to do in every scene. You'll have 2 little furry friends along this journey; one that flies and one that climbs. Some remarks: the team could work on the music score a bit more, the icy drop on the lower right that serves as a hint could be much-much smaller and the Bonus part, couldn't be something different than a repetition of the main game. Apart from that and from the relatively short game duration, it's a very good effort, that has room for improvement, but all the right ingredients! I particularly liked the narration twist.

One of the best games I've played so far. It's playful, it's imaginative, it's generous, everything (and I mean everything!) interacts... So beautiful, that you even forgive it's non-existent music, in most of it's scenes. The only negative comment/remark I have is this (besides the metallic jaws that were clapping again and again): in the last 2 mini HOG scenes, the hidden artifacts (and glance) were to the full left or right screen. I use a square screen, so I couldn't really see those objects. But it's a good thing that one can, via the Options, uncheck the "full screen" option... So, bravo to the team. It seems they enjoyed making it and it shows!
P.S. I nearly finished all (but 2) puzzles, without skipping

I always have a... (negative) thing with the Hidden Expedition series. I don't know. I guess it's not my style, artwork-wise. Plus its logic puzzles are either great or crazy difficult and not fun at all without any particular reason for it. Plus, I don't really appreciate when the Bonus game is a repetition (at least 50%) of the main game; same scenes, same places where you have something to do or find... I mean, it's a solid game, but not sooo much enjoyable as others.
I recommend this game!

Beautifully crafted game, so diverse and enjoyable that I decided, after finishing it, to replay the 1st part. The art work is dreamy, the details full of color and life, you have lots to explore and to do. So much so, that without the map, you will forget where you were or where you're going! The mini HOGs themselves are diverse; sometimes you just have to find shards and staff while other times you have to combine to move on. One of the best games (HOG) I've played. Only downside for me, if I had to name one: I would prefer the challenges to be more demanding, rather than sometimes being random, in the mini games. But I'm totally recommending this one. It also works perfectly as an anxiolytic : )

I really loved the artwork of this one and especially the logical sequence of things need to be done and the rhythm of the gameplay. My big issue was with the mini HOG games; you have to find around the objects that correspond to the shades. Kinda vague isn't it?! Yes. Plus, it would at least be helpful if the shadows had the appropriate name/description tagged on them. Also, some puzzles could have a more complex thinking behind them, instead of just be childish easy or random. So overall, this game is nearly a 5 star one.
