Well, this title is a bit rough on the artwork for my taste and it doesn't seem to improve any bit. The gameplay is tasteful and interesting, although the majority of the puzzles could be more "gamer-friendly" and of logic. The wallpapers in the menu could certainly be more. So, overall rating: 3,2
You get to collect morphing items, shards for the screensaver, and collectible statues in every scene and in some micro-scenes. The uniqueness of this game lies in the interchanging between worlds, a clever tactic to renew the player's interest. A minus is unfortunately the puzzles, which in the majority are disappointingly difficult and without any meaningful challenge. Also, the absence of beautiful wallpapers in the menu, is also a great minus for me. Overall rating: 3.7
Although, at first, the artwork seems rough -matching the gloomy atmosphere-, the gameplay quickly wins you over. It consists of some strong puzzles. Overall, and on the plus side, it's a demanding, very focused game, bringing you into the right gaming mood from the very first scene. Only downside that in the mini HOG scenes where you find objects, everything is too small to make out. Another minus is the speakage, which is really slow at times. Can't wait for the next episode though. Overall rating: 4,5
What is going on with those symbols floating around like illusions every time you become... well, something else?! Not a fan of the Edgar Allan Poe series and this time was no different. This game needs a clear design and focus on the gameplay. Just start over, guys! Make it make sense! final score: 3,2
You collect, based on your glowing menu, artifacts, cards, and gold nuggets. This game has so much detail that it wins you quickly! Plus, if offers a good 7-8 hours of beautiful gameplay and cute artwork. A definite 4,5!
Well, this one got me so much hooked, that I didn't play it all at one so it would last longer! What a festive scenery and how Christmas-appropriate. I much like the cursor that becomes a mitten. You collect big red socks and some coins in microscenes. Only downside, the somewhat short duration and the bonus game which seems to be unlinked to the story, cause you don't know if this is about the pre- or after-story unfolding.
My, my... That was a pleasant ride. And the distinct music sounding from time to time... What a joy. Eerie, twisted, well-balanced, and right in the perfect mood. A murder? A ghost? An old man? Rules? Rules are rules! Pretty imaginable the scenes in the mini HOGs, where the screens not only change but with movement like you go deeper, to unravel a new screen with hidden obejcts. I love those Mist-like elevator controls, going both vertical and horizontal. After a few couple of hours, you forget you're playing a mini game! And it even has a bonus round.
You begin with one of the shortest scenes. And a second short-played scene continues. Wow. And this means a quick game! Which this is, and that's one of its best features. You collect morphing objects and collectable 4-fingered hands with which you can interact in your Menu. So, overall a solid game. Minuses, the music and the story, in which you get lost after a while. overall rating: solid 4
Look out for collectibles in the form of shiny coins and morphs. A really beautiful fairy-like drawing and story. Only disappointment the repeating sound of the owl in the forest, as it happens with all repeating sounds -being annoying! final score: 4,3
You have a lot to collect along the way. A bit emotional since this is the first of the first to establish the HOG genre. Although the creative team got the whole place overloaded with things to explore, discover, and combine, it feels a bit too "little" of a game excitement. Plus, unfortunately it's one of those games that you can only play at night (to make out shapes and objects). You get to collect musical notes throughout every scene. overall score: 3,9
