As soon as the key broke in the lock on the bag, my heart sank. I couldn't bring myself to go any further, and this was in the first couple of minutes. I may be a bit unfair, as I haven't completed the demo, but you just know this is going to be like deja vu. I realise that many developers don't have the staff available - apparently due to the war in Ukraine - and worse things are happening in the world right now. However, I stopped subscribing a month ago to Big Fish after 15 years as a customer, as there doesn't seem to be any games that pique my interest any more. I am going to replay my old games to death and be happy with that. Sad times
Tried the demo twice, and each time I had to Ctrl/Alt/Delete to end it. Got no further than the first match 3 game, which wouldn't end and let me progress even when I had finished it. It kept putting a hint out even though I'd finished. Can't be bothered if I'm honest with uninstalling and reinstalling this game. Try it at your peril. You will never get the time back you have wasted on it....
I cannot believe I missed this game as long ago as 11 years! What was I thinking?? I have just discovered it, and I must say how much I really enjoyed playing it. I love the atmosphere, graphics, storyline and basically everything about it. It took me about 5 plus hours to play it, and was quite disappointed when I finished it. I do feel it has replayable value, so I will come back to it in a few months to play it again.
What a very pleasant surprise. I was braced to be playing a children's game, but soon found out it was fun as an adult to play it. I've not finished the game yet, but am looking forward to getting back to it as soon as I can. Love the storyline, the artwork and the puzzles. In fact I like everything about the game so far. A wonderful bit of escapism in these strange troubled times...well done to the developers and thankyou to the person who built the story around his daughter.
I bought this game way back when it first came out, and I have replayed it countless times. I love the familiarity of it, and although I have played it more time than I care to remember, I still cannot remember where the hidden objects are (or maybe that's because I'm getting old lol!) I know it is a bit short, but I really have a soft spot for this game, and never get bored with it.
I know my review may seem a little unfair, but I could only play this demo for 10 minutes. The bee on the hint button was so distracting I couldn't get into the story. All I could see was the little bee fluttering it's wings. Just irritating. No way to stop it either. Also, the key snapping off into a lock...well, how unoriginal can you get? I suspect the rest of the game is full of actions that are repeated in countless other games too. Maybe I have played too many of these games, but I'm waiting in hope for a game that can get my gaming juices flowing again. I have 2 credits that I've not been able to spend as I cannot find a game that I find remotely interesting. Please please please developers....let's have some original ideas...not old ones rehashed every game.
That's me done with MCF. I shall replay my old favourites over and over to immerse myself in the true MCF style, at least until a developer comes up with the same magic of old. I'm not saying this is a bad game, indeed, it's slick and everything gamers want if they like this sort of genre. I just feel that by continuing to call these games Mystery Case Files, it's just a bit of a charade to persuade people to buy them. I may be being a tad unreasonable in expecting the same essence and atmosphere that was created many years and games ago, but I genuinely feel sad that it seems those days have long gone. I may be living in the past, but it feels like an era is over. Sad times. However, fair play to Grandma games for trying.
As a hidden object/adventure game obsessive, I downloaded this jigsaw puzzle game for a change of pace. Well, was I most pleasantly surprised!! It's charming, relaxing, addictive and so beautiful to play, that I think I have a new addiction. The pictures are gorgeous, the music is lovely to listen to, and the whole experience for me was just wonderful. I played the entire jigsaw collection on 80 pieces each jigsaw, and am looking forward to starting the whole thing over again a little more complicated. Thankyou.
This game is more or less the same as most of the games that are coming out of the developers studios lately. There is nothing in this game that I find as interesting or intriguing about the older MCF (while Big Fish developed them, and before Eipix got hold of the series) The only resemblance to the old MCF is the appearance of the older characters that appear in cameo in this game. I ask myself, why do they have to feature these in new games? Is it so us older MCF fans have something to relate to? All in all, I think I'm done with MCF. I shall keep replaying my old ones for nostalgias' sake.
