For 25 years, you thought you had no family. But one night, a man steps through a mirror from another world, claiming to be your uncle... changing your life forever.
I bought the CE and I have to say I would recommend it to everyone.
The main game is great fun and I thoroughly enjoyed searching for virtually invisible leaves throughout and getting help in high places from an owl. This hint button is a boon (especially when you're as impatient as I am# and there is an interactive map. The only thing is that the 'diary' type book only shows the video clips and isn't a complete update on the game, so if you need reminding on something you have to try and remember..
The game flows quite well into the different 'dream worlds' with the aid of a map on the side of a turtle! #Anyone say Pratchett?#.
The voices are good but not intrusive and the graphics are very high quality. I will admit, I wasn't expecting such a good game from the title and was very pleasantly surprised.
The CE comes with the usual bonus chapter - which I have to say is the best value for money I've seen in a long time, its not a teensy tiny add on, for once its an entire chapter so to speak - great fun.
You also get a 'hidden' chapter as well #providing you find all the leaves - but don't worry, if you don't - because you can click on the ones you didn't find and it takes you to the screen where they are to give you a second go!#...
All in all a fantastic game and it has owls in it - need I say more? Wish all CE games gave this great value.
I have to be honest and this is my least favourite of the series. I think it's been cobbled together and has only the loosest of threads linking it to the others in the series.
That said it was still brilliant. The graphics were top notch and the voices, as per normal, were very good too.
The game play was much the same as the others, although I couldn't help looking for morphing objects (too many other HoG's I guess!#
I will buy any others that come out because I do enjoy them as a rule.
I felt the main game was a trifle short, especially if you've played the others and know what to expect. The 'examining witnesses' was a great new addition as was the 'analyser' for unknown substances.
So, all in all a great game with great games and mini-games - you get to mend film clips, take fingerprints, bend metal bars with a wet shirt #small spoiler, but leave you to find the details#.
The cut scenes were very well done and I loved them.
All I will say as an end is ; "BEWARE CURLY"
I recommend this game!

Dreampath: The Two Kingdoms Collector's Edition
Your sister, the Queen, has fallen deathly ill. Now you must travel to a faraway kingdom to find the cure.
I highly recommend you read the forums before buying this game.
That said, once I had struggled passed the glitches, the game was great fun. The visuals were high quality, the voices were ok and not all that intrusive. The games were also very good fun and I had fun trying to beat the game.
The bonus game is a good add on but NOT a continuation of the story - more a prequel, so be warned!
There is a nice little board game hidden in the extras which is quite good fun to play too.
All in all, once the game developer issues a patch, or even if you're willing to put up with its glaring faults it is a great game.
This is based on the trial version only, and I have to say that I will definitely buy this when I get paid.
Initially, I failed to see how it tied into the rest of the rest of the series (which ran on from each other), then it turns out that the heroines know each other.
Game play in this one differs from the others in that you have an analyser which is quite good fun to use.
My biggest moan for the trial version is that it tells you that you have 90mins gameplay, but I still had nearly 30mins left when it ran out.
That said, what I played was great fun and just as engrossing as the others. I'm looking forward to playing the whole game.
Woman scorned inadvertently curses a family (never speak out in anger!), go forward 25 years and you're travelling home for your twin's wedding and a bear with odd eyes attacks your carriage... and then the fun starts.
It begins with you rescuing a really cute kitten and never stops. The map was a god send to me because I tend to forget where I need stuff.
The graphics and voices were well above par too. Quite a long and involved game, I played it in one sitting - about 3-4 hours and the bonus game is well worth playing too.
All I can say is that it has been a long time since a HOG has grabbed me as much as this one. I played it in one go!
The storyline is pretty much standard mum following/rescuing her son who's been kidnapped... and there the standard ends.
The graphics and voices in the game are superb and to be honest beautiful. My recommendation is that you get the CE because the bonus game is well worth the money.
All in all, although I never re-play games, in this one I can see why people would!
When I first opened this game to play I was very disappointed by the cartoonish type graphics, however, ten minutes in, I was hooked!
This game is exactly what is says on the tin, with a mini twist, its basically Hansel & Gretel!
The little gingerbread man as a helper is fab and contributes to the story in the main game. The hint button takes you exactly where you need to be if you use it.
Please don't get me wrong this is a very atmospheric, suspensful, thriller type game.
The game play is first person view with occasional glimpses via cut scenes, mirrors and windows etc of the person you are playing. The music is extremely well chosen and adds to the whole game playing experience.
SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT:
My only quibble with this (and I played the Collector's Edition# is that the main game finishes in what appears to be the middle of the story with no warning #or at least mine did), the bondus game play does progress the story and is very well planned/set out but again - just as you think you're finally getting somewhere it finishes.
I only found out that this was the first of a trilogy by reading the notes in the Extras folder.
Again a great game and wel worth buying/playing but be aware that there are 2 more instalments coming!
I have only played the free trial which is supposed to be an hour, but after a little while it comes up thank you for playing trial but still tells me I have 27 minutes left out of my hour - good job I don't have to pay.
Having said that - I'm definitely getting this on pay day. Its well worth it.
