My kids used to play these type of arcade games back when 'gaming' first started. This is the first time I myself have ever bought one as I was so lousy at pressing keyboard or joystick controls.
This one is not totally easy, but very controllable with an ordinary computer mouse. It is obviously adapted from the Free2Play phone market, but comes up full size on my laptop screen. I am having such fun! Better late learning than never!

I would have given this game 5 stars as it is generous, allows you to buy power ups, equiptment and dress your avatar in all manner of clothes (for money) BFG gamers do not have to actually use real cash. I took off a star because it appears in this adaption, there is only ONE profile. So I don't even know not having reached the end yet whether there is any replay value or it is one go and that's it?
Try the demo, I am so glad I did or I would not have realised I can actually play this one!
I recommend this game!

I gave this game 5 stars after a real struggle between love and like. Because I have played the other two in the series, I love it. It is an offering which relies purely on its merits of strategy to solve quests and open territories to solve yet even more quests,as well as finding and collecting extremely tiny hidden objects scattered through the whole game (with back and forthing) in order to do it.
You must buy and sell items with traders to gain gold, solve peoples needs to gain favour and hearts and gold, pay others to help you along your way, learn how to hunt, battle, fish, and then on top of that even going to sleep to stay strong is not even free. You need food and hearts.
The game is not anything amazing at all to look at, in fact quite dull in terms of animation, but the challenge of the journey is such that I don't care because of the game play.
The journey is slow and stressless other than the thinking involved in the choices you make, so if you are not patient person, this is not the game for you. I also don't think this is the game for beginners to the series. There is no hint button (although internet help is out there), and the tutorial is not very explanatory. So I am saying it is a great game as an experienced player. I would start with game one if not. I really do recommend the series!
So if you have played before, there is nothing much new here, it's just a different journey. I am enjoying it though because I am on top of what I have to do. My confusion levels are low because of the familiarity.
Try the demo. Its a game where personal taste counts for a lot in what you expect from a strategy/adventure. Enjoy!.
I recommend this game!

For a game to be called a CE it should contain a strategy guide, collectables, bonus levels, concept art, wallpapers and achievements. This one has the lot.
The next generation is the story of the young Elven princess who can bring inanimate objects magically to life, and her journey home from her G'pa's back to her parents Castle. It is quite fairytale like in its theme.
The game itself has three modes of play including relaxed, and there are 50 levels and 10 bonus levels
There are three achievements on every level, a book, a cute pink Gollum and a tiny and hard to spot morphing faun statuette. The strategy guide is easy to flip down, accurate and has them clearly marked for each level. (you can go back and get them too)
This game will keep you busy and there is no slacking off even for resource gathering. Sometimes resources appears on altars, but often you have to cut your own wood from a tree or pick your own food.
There are bonuses for speed and production, and upgrades to buildings. In that respect most buildings are familiar to other games in the series. The gameplay however is not so much. Every level is so different from the last you are never repeating a goal, its never the same scenery and it keeps you very busy figuring out the game screen (while searching for collectables!)
Whilst it is a 'fairytale' theme, its not totally cutie pie, there are rats and villians, craftsmen, soldiers, traders and mythical creatures. The graphics are terrific, and the game play is extremely smooth.
I was so pleased to see that number seven in the series had me challenged, immersed and smiling. Yes its a standard 'collect and meet the goals' TM, but the journey is first class. Try the demo. I think you will be hooked. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

Well it's number 8 and usually by now unless the series has immense quality it doesn't excite anymore. This one still excites. It is such a joy to play, smooth matches, clever action from bonuses and often surprises in what is needed to win the level (but there is a relaxed mode and also timed and limited moves to choose)
For those who have the others in the series: what's new? There is a huge amount of bonus levels to play as well as the main game, but in half of these you are playing against an artificial intelligence (AI). Hard to tell if it lets you win sometimes or not lol. For the other half the 'damned black coins' that you cannot touch are there. Its going to be a long game by my 'game progress bar' anyway.
There is also a game of mahjong that has been added to the usual solitaire, spot the difference, and hidden object. (all skippable but the mahjong is cute and you can put a tile aside like with the solitaire.) All the game tiles are new to fit with the aim of turning stones to gold in the greater 'ghost mission'
For anyone who hasn't played. This is a very eye pleasing, very cute, but extremely clever game where you must remove all coins from the board by matching next to them. You will make your way through fog by matching tiles, you let droplets come down to fill containers which explode, and you have rockets that take off and remove coins.
Your host are quite funny ghosts who banter and lighten up the journey with building and achieving various missions.
So a couple of new features, lots of levels, and a good time back with old favourites. Enjoy.
I recommend this game!

At risk of the review not getting up, I can sum this game up very quickly. Elven Legend meets Royal Envoy!
There are 3 modes of play including relaxed.
Its a super cute, very clever collect resource game. You will build sawmills and markets, you will upgrade houses with gardens for happiness as well as calling into the tavern and attending performances. You will sow and reap crops. Gold is collected by workers from the Town Hall.
Bonuses come in the form of various characters you hire..a cobbler for speedy boots etc. You click on the person to activate.
Its clever, its cute but it is not very stressful. Perhaps its the pleasant fairytale like graphics that are calming? But there is strategy involved and I repeated some early levels till I worked it out
To sum up. A good lighthearted standard TM that is a pleasure to play. Enjoy!

What a wonderful game! So much to think about, so many features to take in, and so much strategy to get your gold! It starts out quite slow with a tutorial (you can skip) but before long you are right in the thick of very busy play.
Whilst gameplay is the same as the first in the series, (collect resources, build and meet goals) one of the notable new features are pressure buttons that keep the resource alters open so you must stand on these regularly. The buttons can also open new territory, just as the elders also reveal new territory and buildings. And therefore also new tasks popping up.
Also of course as in the first, the gameplay stops completely until your warriors drive all enemies from the screen, requiring even more planning. You know the minute all those 'tick aheads' you did turn red, ogres are lurking.
The graphics are delightful and cheery, in fact the whole game is a feast for the eyes, including constantly scanning to figure out where the roads actually go, but it gives you help.
There is a strategy guide. There are achievements. There is art. There are bonuses for speed, extra worker etc. And there are extra bonus levels upon main game completion. But I did not see a 'relaxed' option for having no timer?
Is it CE worthy? Yes just. It has everything but collectables. I have already used the strategy guide not too far in, and getting extra levels with all this fun makes it worth it. It is not an 'easy' game. So put your speedy boots on and enjoy!
I recommend this game!

This is New Yankee at its usual fine quality. Whilst it is a standard gather resource game the developers seem to include just enough familiar gameplay and features but add the new variety to create interest. There are three difficulty levels including relaxed.
I was a bit shocked at first about how 'cute' this game was. Almost 'fairy dell' graphics, and cute mushrooms for John to fight off, but not long in the skeletons we all know and love started marching in. So had to build watchtowers.
What's the same? You will pick your bonuses from a choice of three. John and Mary perform the same tasks (magic and defense) Houses, workers and buildings are the same. There are achievements and puzzle pieces to collect. The puzzle pieces are marked on the levels and ticked off if you have collected it.
What's new? New minigame of find pairs (maybe others to come?) Stumps and barrels that supply gold and manna. Saving having to always mine or collect them. No strategy guide as this is an SE release. There are bridges Mary must make with manna supply rather than all wooden.
All in all, how wonderful! I think these graphics are my favourite of all in the series, and this series is also in my top three TM games. I have them all. I like that it is offered as an SE as its all there anyway except the strategy guide.
So try the demo. It was an instant buy for me. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

This game took me quite a while to both get the 'hang of', and to be able to make out what things were worth, what buildings gave, even what the symbols were on the resources. I found the size of the 'gives' bubbles were quite small. However after simply experimenting and wandering around fairly blindly, I was soon recognising the value and what resource each article gave me.
I mean really I was not expecting to pick up a paper clip, and who would have guessed an eaten apple core would hold value?
This is an extremely 'cute and imaginitive' game. You are living in a tiny world full of giant objects (to you) and giants themselves (people) You must navigate your way round everyday objects such as phones and keys as if they were as large as buildings, and avoiding being seen by the 'giants' as you head off to rescue your love who was swept away by a broom! I got caught once as I did not heed an alarm..and had to start the level over. I actually got a fright lol!
Its a standard gather resources game with quite a bit of strategy and math to work out when to demolish a building and whether you can. Its certainly not simple for all its 'storybook' looks, it takes a bit of thinking as some tasks can only be performed by one character.
I am glad I bought the CE. Just because there is a strategy guide and only 45 standard levels with the promise of ten 'extra long' levels. There are the usual wallpapers, achievements, and music. It just scrapes through as a CE value, but as a game it is a whole lot of fun and the graphics really take you into a fantasy world of 'tiny folk'.
Try the demo, but don't give up too easy if you are a bit confused, before long it all makes good sense and it really is a game worth playing.
I recommend this game!

I only had to play a few levels to know this was an instant buy. Its Incredible Dracula just as we know him and this whole series. A quality, interesting, busy, eye pleasing, humorous and challenging 'gather and build' task orientated game.
Whilst totally familiar characters we all love are back, potions and craftings to mix, buildings to upgrade, and resourses to gather are not new, the settings, the tasks and the strategy have a great level of challenge and difference. I found that what was an important resource, or building to get first in the last level was not necessarily the order or need in the next . That makes for an interesting time with your strategy.
A whole new feature is the fireball tower you will need to melt icicles. And of course the characters you meet have various needs including healing with herbal tea (you must make), or a cave or building to explore. Strangely though most TM's are not worthy, this is one not offered as a CE and I will actually miss the collectables, the strategy guide and extra levels and would have purchased thus. There is help on the internet for those who need it. (probably me on later levels lol)
This is how a TM should be made. Challenge, pleasing graphics, hard but not impossible strategy, choice of difficulty for all, connectedness to the characters and their tasks, and smooth busy gameplay. Try the demo and.. Enjoy!
I recommend this game!

I struggled to finish the demo! If you have any other games with these poor graphics by this developer, you pretty much already own the game.
Whilst in this there are a couple of new features with dinasaurs and evolving and taming creatures, a smart lipped guide scientist, and a bit of different terrain, the gameplay is exactly the same as the last 6 or 7 offerings.
It is listed as 'puzzle' but is a TM. It is certainly not CE worthy with only 50 levels, and no strategy guide. There is a 'very difficult' level which is code for 'timed', and if you turn it off it is 'untimed/relaxed' There are achievements, concept art and music.
I am finding it quite insulting really to be offered this poor quality and almost cloned type of game over and over as a CE. I wont even be buying the SE when it appears. I have a long list of these games already and comes a time when you just cant condone purchase no matter how much you love TM's
If you have never tried or own any of these games you may find some mild amusement in it.
I don't recommend this game.
