No queue.
Enforced tutorial.
Beeps that all sound the same.
Overall a very clunky game that I couldn't be bothered to play through to the end of the demo.
This game feels like it was made by people who are learning how to make a game. Why it's being offered for sale is a mystery to me because it's clearly not a professionally made game.
There are better time management games. Trying this one felt like scraping the bottom of Big Fish's time management game offerings. You're better off replaying some of the others you've purchased rather then trying this one. It is sorta complete fail.
I don't recommend this game.

This game would be excellent but you cannot queue tasks. This turns the entire game into a painfully slow, choppy, and annoying chore.
Please developer just get a queue. Excellent time management games all have it, many of us like using it, why won't you just get a queue?
I do not want to have to sit and watch the house my characters run back to the entire time I'm playing. If there is no queue that's just about all the game is about...watching that house waiting for the character to touch home base before I can do anything. In this game the problem is compounded by the fact that sometimes, even if you have someone available, they still won't do an assigned task. That feels sort of buggy to me.
Another issue is that all the resource producing structures have the same sound when they produce something. Since I already have to focus my attention on home base to know when I can queue a task it's pretty annoying to have a generic beep tell me something is ready to be picked up. Now I have to scan the whole board to figure out which resource building has something for me to pick up. Just make each resource producing building make a unique sound like quality games do. I don't want to scan the entire board under these circumstances...I need to pay attention to home base so I can queue the next task.
This game needs a lot of work to stand up with excellent time management games. I would suggest Northern Tales 4 or Gardens, Inc. 3. Both of those games allow queuing.
Overall, this game is a frustrating disaster. It needs queuing and it needs unique sounds for resource producing structures. I bought it and I am not happy with it at all. I don't buy games to be frustrated and annoyed.
I don't recommend this game.

This game has graphics that literally look like someone Googled icons and used the first free icons they found to put in the game. They then took these poorly made icons and stuck them in the game as the little things you click on to collect resources. They were so poor I could barely tell what they were supposed to be.
The bad graphics are accompanied by ponderously clunky point and click action. Playing this game feels like trying to wade through a puddle of molasses wearing concrete boots.
It's ugly and doesn't work well. Maybe the issue is it's a very old game that needs to be retired. If you're looking for a TM game there are newer ones that are far, far better.

Maybe if you've played other games from this developer this one would make sense. I've never played this series and I had no idea what was going on.
The tutorial shows up as cards centered directly over the playing board even though the board itself takes up a small center space on your computer screen leaving lots of room where the tutorial could be placed. You end up with this small game board covered with the tutorial and all this decorative border around the whole thing sitting there being useless. You try to play, have no idea what's going on, and every two seconds some card pops up blocking your view of the game. Very annoying.
This game just has a really poor user interface for the tutorial and not much in the way of clear instructions even with the tutorial. I don't want to have to resurrect some old game from the same developer just to know what's going on in this game. It looked really fun and I wanted to like it but it ended up just being a confusing waste of time.
A complete no-buy for me. Try to give more clear instructions that don't cover the game board. Instead of covering the game board with the tutorial put the tutorial in the wasted decorative border space. That way people can read the instructions while playing the game...that's my tip to the developer ;)
I give it a 2.5 because it seemed to have interesting ideas and the graphics were nice but I cannot recommend this game.
I don't recommend this game.

The demo was really fun. The disaster happens later after you purchase it. If other reviewers have played past the demo they haven't said so. I've played past the demo and this is what I think after having done so.
This series has always had mediocre graphics that look like they crawled out of the 1970's and this one is no different. This isn't a big issue for me but it's worth mentioning. The sound is good and pretty non-intrusive.
There is no storyline at all which, to me is a mixed bag. I like games with a good story line but I also like a good game that doesn't torture me with a bad one.
The problem I have with this game, as with others in the series, is that there are a lot of really non-intuitive things you need to do to win a level in gold and there is only one way to do things to win a level in gold. It isn't like the better time management games where you can plan a strategy. Instead the developer has created a puzzle that's along the lines of a rat maze. The only way to figure the maze out is to run it over and over and over and over and over. It gets tedious and annoying pretty quickly especially in combination with a game that has no interesting story line or pretty graphics to soften the whole experience.
The annoyance is compounded by a poor user interface that makes it so when you click to upgrade a building or pick up a resource often your click is not registered by the game. You then have to double check all your clicks to make sure that something is actually going to happen.
The game allows you to cancel an interaction but , for some ridiculous reason, doing so cancels all other interactions you chose before that one. I have no idea why a developer would put this sad feature into a game and I don't like it at all. If I want to cancel a move let me cancel just that one.
I like a game with some challenge to it. I don't like a game where the developer dictates exactly which building needs to be built on any given spot and when exactly I need to build it, tear it down, and replace it with something else. Unfortunately, that's what this developer did and unfortunately I trusted that this time they wouldn't. I bought this game and now regret spending my money on it because I won't run their maze to the finish. This is going in my discard bin as wasted money.
I don't want to play a rescue game that requires me to intuit that I will need a bank on every building spot in order to win the level. This makes no sense and that is what you will need to do to win some of the levels in gold. Completely ridiculous.
I don't recommend this game.

The game is very nicely made. The graphics and soundtrack are good and the story is cute. Most levels lack the challenge I'm really wanting from a time management game but, on the other hand, there is no frustration from any of them.
The complaint I have about this game is the bonus levels. They have no real objective and the method of playing is completely switched around from all the levels you've played to reach them. It felt like the developers just sort of tossed this in without thinking it out. I played the game to the finish saving the bonus levels for last and was disappointed that the bonus levels didn't have the same level of quality as the rest of the game has.
Overall, this is a very fun game. If you're a stickler for even handed quality in the bonus levels this game will annoy you. If you aren't you'll probably have a really good time with it.
I recommend this game!

As time management games go this one is of good quality. As good quality time management games go it is too easy.
I enjoyed playing it but it didn't present much challenge. If you're interested in a time management game that is high quality and presents a challenge give Northern Tales III and IV a try. These are newer games by the same developer and, in my opinion, they are superior to this one.
This is a very cute and nicely made game...it just doesn't present much of the challenge I'm looking for in a time management game of this type.
If you're new to the genre this would be an excellent starting point.
I recommend this game!

The graphics are sharp and clear and the sound quality is good. The game starts out very easy but ramps up to present some challenge fairly quickly.
I was enjoying the game well enough until, for some unknown reason, my characters had to start bludgeoning pigs to death with a hammer in order to continue forward. I know these are cartoons but I find this to be a very repellent and disturbing concept. I don't want to have to pound animals with a hammer in order to progress in a game. It immediately spoiled my enjoyment and I couldn't continue playing.
Of course I didn't reach this level until I had already purchased the game. I wish some other reviewer had mentioned this so that I hadn't wasted my money buying a game with blatant animal cruelty themes in it.
I don't recommend this game.

The storyline is very thin and the characters move at the speed of a glacier.
I could tolerate that except that this game is one of those "gotcha" games that hides the whole board in a shroud of mist or puts key elements of a level behind a bridge so you can't see what you need to do to deal with that element from the start.
These issues make it so you can't look at the board at the start and plan a strategy. Instead you get to just blunder through the level over and over until you eventually get to all the gotcha areas and can start making your plan. This, combined with the slow character movement, makes the game tedious and annoying.
The game play is very non-intuitive and you have to do odd things in order to win a level in gold. Things that look alike cost different amounts of resources between levels and even within a level. This makes planning a strategy even more difficult. The whole thing is a guessing game rather than a game that allows you to plan.
If I wanted to play a slow game where I had to guess what was coming next I would buy a deck of cards and play solitaire. I buy time management games because they have fast action and require some thought. This game has neither of those attributes. It's all about slogging through the "mist" and dealing with things that won't tell you what they require until you get through the mist, build a bridge, and click on it.
Overall I'm not a fan. If you want a good time management game you're better off with the Northern Tale series or the Gardens, Inc series. This one is not up to the standards already set by those and it is not worth your money in my opinion.
I don't recommend this game.

Rarely do I actually make the mistake of actually purchasing a game this poor but the demo of this one in combination with the high ratings fooled me.
This game involves buying and selling animals to get produce and money. You then buy buildings you need that make products from the produce. All the while pandas (yeah...I don't get that either) are falling from the sky directly on top of your animals and killing them. There is absolutely no story line to go along with that.
The only way to achieve gold, or even silver, on any given level is calculating mathematically how many animals you must sell before you have just the right number that you can afford to feed while also making enough produce to get you the money you need to buy the building you must have.
Once you've finished a level you get to go to a store to buy new upgrades but why you want to bother I don't know because when you begin another level the buildings you get aren't the upgraded ones you purchased...they're the same ones you had in the last level.
The whole unpleasant mess is accompanied by an annoyingly repetitive and hokey soundtrack and poorly done cartoonish graphics.
The demo makes it seem like this game is going somewhere amusing and fun. Instead you're hurled into a game where the developer thinks adding chance and manual dexterity to the unpleasant mix of mathematical calculation is somehow interesting.
Do yourself the favor I didn't do for myself and give this one a miss. I really wish I hadn't wasted a game credit on it.
I don't recommend this game.
