Pretty But Easy HOP Game

This game is not challenging. I played the sample, and the puzzles there were too easy, but the graphics, background, and items were very pretty. I enjoy pretty games quite a lot, so that's a bonus for me. I also liked the unique music - a great change of pace.
The storyline is a little strange, with an evil person's spirit getting trapped in an almanac, but I care more about the HOPs and attractiveness of the game than the storyline. A great storyline is just a big bonus for me.
I don't think I'll buy this game unless I finish all the other ones I have and there's no other game I want. If the puzzles were more challenging, I would have bought it right away.

Between "League of Light: The Game" and this Haunted Manor game, I like the pattern of having a character in a game that they need to escape. This has particularly good graphics, and the eyes of the characters move realistically and the mouth movements really match what they're saying.
This is one of those games where you really want to know what's going to happen next and how the characters will get out of their predicament. I haven't gotten to the spooky stuff yet, but the suspense leading up to it is good. The idea of the house trying to restore itself and yet breaking itself to attack people is awesome. Pictures move, wine glasses fill themselves - all these details are great.
Puzzles aren't too easy - there are good challenges in here. I hope you'll give it a try!

The plot of this game is particularly good. It's a typical murder mystery, but it's very much like something you'd find in a novel! I really like that as sometimes plots in games don't make much sense or you see them so infrequently that they can be hard to follow.
The atmosphere is good, you get to see a lot of different types of areas. There are homes, a hotel, offices, a boardwalk, and more - good variety. Here and there a graphic will be pixelated or blurry, but not very often and it's nothing that hurts my enjoyment of the game.
This is one of those rare games where you get to switch perspectives from being a female character to being a male character. Little details change along with the perspective, like the design of the hint button from a feminine hat to a masculine one. I really like switching perspectives, so I'm glad to see that in this game.
There are collectibles and morphing objects, the former easier to find, the latter can be pretty difficult. The HOPs sometimes have two rounds of items to find within one puzzle, which I LOVE.
I'm enjoying this game a lot and recommend it.

When the trial ended, I was DYING to play more! I'm not sure why the low reviews - this is a must buy for me. You get to choose your level of difficulty beyond what you normally select in the Options menu: do you want the game to be ordinary, medium, or hard. I chose hard and found it to be exactly the right level for me. You also get to choose whether you hear a male or female voice - I always appreciate that option.
The little helper is one that has been used in other games within this series - a cute little pumpkin guy that doesn't make noises and plays a good part in the game. I have always liked him.
There are lots of different kinds of puzzles, the environment is engaging and detailed, and the concept/storyline is great too.
I'm going to buy this game and will probably play straight through it!
