Difficulty Levels:
1. No time limit.
2. 10-minute time limit for each search
3. 3 mins time limit for each search
You get one point for each scene completed.
You have silhouettes, scrambled letters, missing vowels
PROS:
1. Graphics nice; colors crisp and clear
2. Music is nice, corresponds to each scene
CONS:
1. Characters in the story frankly look 'ridiculous'
2. Unable to SKIP the narration between the characters
3. Items very hard to find, even with the magnifying
glass
This game is like the other 'Travel to' games. Rather boring.
I don't recommend this game.

I enjoyed this game and I liked that they substituted the GPS icons (needed to find in other similar games) for dogs to find. The games that you get to play after each search-and-find portion, were fun and offered a good variety. My ONLY complaint was that it was way too easy to play (when you set your settings to EASY, which I tend to do because playing games is my major source of relaxation). So I mostly have all of my game settings on the easy play. So I guess I can't complain too much. Maybe I'm just saying that the easy setting could have been a tad bit harder.
I recommend this game!

I LOVE these 'types' of games, but unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), there are only two other ADVENTURE TRIP games: ADVENTURE TRIP: WONDERS OF THE WORLD (CE/SE), and ADVENTURE TRIP: LONDON (CE/SE).
Now we finally have another place to explore: NEW YORK. The CE is chock-full of extras, but even if you didn't have the extras, the SE would still give you lots of things to do.
If you are looking for a relaxing game that provides hours of things to find, then you've come to the right place. And you can take a dream-filled trip to New York while you are at it.
I recommend this game!

A buy for me after playing the demo. Here are my pros/cons:
PROS:
1: I LOVE the hidden, fragmented object scenes. I can't even remember how long it's been since a developer used the fragments in a HOS. Some of the pieces were hard to find but otherwise fun to play. I only wish there were more of them in the game.
2: When you needed a particular item, it basically told you what item you needed in your inventory. It doesn't do this if the item isn't in your inventory though.
3: A good storyline.
CONS:
1: The graphics were poorly done. Colors not as clear as I would like them to be.
2: The game ended too soon.
An overall, fun game to play.
I recommend this game!

After completing only 30 mins of the demo, I realized quickly that I was going to purchase the game. Right away, I noticed a MAJOR change that the other same-type games haven't changed (Paint By Numbers, Modern Art). And that is you don't have to complete each set of pictures before moving on to the next page. This has been a HUGE complaint among other reviewers, and yet, the developers haven't changed a thing.
Art By Numbers, on the other hand, has given us art lovers something to look forward to playing. The colors are clear, bright, and vivid, and the textures give each painting an extra touch.
I recommend this game!

There isn't much to say about this game. It is yet ANOTHER boring, non-challenging game. I keep wondering when these games will stop. Every single version of these types of games (Paint by numbers, Art by numbers, and Modern Art) ARE ALL THE SAME. The ONLY difference in each game is the pictures. You would think by now, with all of the negative reviews given on these games, that they would just 'call it a day' and cease and desist.
I don't recommend this game.

Here is my review after playing the demo for almost an hour.
PROS: Good lip-synch/voiceover
Colors very crisp, clear with good use of the color palette
Good storyline
A good eye to detail: For example: At the beginning of the game, where the man is talking. Look at his hands and you can see the outline of his very distinct veins (I don't recall seeing this before in any game, although I could have missed it. I point this out because I used to be an RN, and that is something we, as nurses, always noticed on a person's hand/arm, even after retirement).
A very fun game (so far)
HOS: There were some HOS's that I had never encountered before and they were fun and creative
CONS: It just seems to me to be a game that has a little too much going on. A lot of moving around, going from scene to scene, having to 'charge' the magical wand, etc.,
All in all, a game that I look forward to buying when there is a BOGO sale.
I recommend this game!

The only difference between Modern Art 1-3, and this version as well, is simply the pictures. Everything else is the same. The MAJOR difference between Big Fish's Paint by Numbers and the Modern Art games, is that Modern Art provides you with different TEXTURES in all of their pictures. Textures can add something different to every painting. If you took two identical pictures but used two completely different textures, you could tell the difference. Another positive thing about MA is that the colors seem brighter and distinctly clearer. A negative thing is that you STILL have to complete the first set of pictures BEFORE you can move on to the next set of pages, which is a negative for me. I never could figure out the developer's reason for this because it should be up to us to decide what pictures we want to paint first.
If you are building up a COLLECTION of MODERN ART versions (like me), then just remember that you'll get different pictures, but not much else.
I recommend this game!

Review based on 60 mins of the demo:
The storyline has been done before (missing teens/people, smog-infested ghosts). The main thing that I didn't like about this game is that you had to go to a lot of different places to find what you needed to find, in order to complete a task. All in all, not a bad game but I won't be buying it.
I recommend this game!

Here is my review after only playing 20 mins of the demo:
PROS: a different variety of pictures
An easy game for beginners
CONS: The exact same game as PAINT-BY-NUMBERS 1-8, only with different pictures
If you are the type of player who saves every addition to an already purchased collection, then this will be added to your library. However, if you are the type of player who is looking for an addition to your collection, but with some differences, then this game is not for you.
I recommend this game!
