I only played around 30 mins of the demo to realize that this game follows along the same line as other similar art games (to include this one). So for those of you who have followed along with the same picture games as (and any other games that I have missed):
Modern Art 1 & 2 Art by Numbers Paint by Numbers
will find that this game is the same-old-same game but with different pictures. For those of you players who want more of a description can read other reviews.
I did find that the music was nice and soothing (and I don't normally listen to music in other games as I find it distracting). The texture of some of the pictures was also different from each other.
Overall: if you like to keep a collection of the same type of games, then please check out the demo and see it for yourself.
IT TOOK WAY TO LONG FOR THIS VERSION TO APPEAR, BUT NOW I AM A HAPPY CAMPER

It seemed as if it took longer for this version to be released, but maybe I was just waiting impatiently for it TO appear. This version is the same as all of the previous ones, but with some subtle differences.
Sometimes change is good, but in the case of all of the Vacation Adventure games, keeping things as they are, is even better.
IT'S GROUNDHOG MOVIE DAY ALL OVER AGAIN.....AND AGAIN...AND AGAIN.

I have purchased PAINT-BY-NUMBERS 1-7 for the simple fact is that I like this type of 'game'. But the MAIN reason that I KEEP buying number after number, is that my HOPE that SOMETHING will CHANGE and get BETTER, or make it WORTH my MONEY. But so far, I am left DISAPPOINTED.
For those of you who have played and/or purchased the previous versions of PAINT-BY-NUMBERS, need to stop. DON'T waste your money any further unless you like the movie 'GROUNDHOG', where it keeps repeating and repeating the same thing, over and over again. This game, as well as PAINT-BY-NUMBERS 1-7, is the EXACT same. Only the pictures change.
fromTo pennmom36: I miss reading your well-written reviews and also read as to the reason why you haven't been writing. I base all of decisions to try a game solely on your reviews. Hang in there :)

I couldn't wait for this game to come out. Seemed like it took forever. I have every one of these games and never even hesitated to buy it without even playing the demo.
This game is chockful of Christmas colors, sounds, and beautiful, wintery pictures. Some of the objects are hard to find, which makes the game even better. What I don't like is that all of the games have the same music, the same very 'weird-looking people that represent a 'family', and the games that are provided after each scene are the same as well. I'm also not sure this game qualifies as a CE, but you can make up your own mind.
If you like HOPS then you will love this game because you will find an abundance of them here. Unfortunately, the graphics are not very clear, and some of the objects are hard to find. Without the magnifier that is provided, it would be near impossible to find all that you need to find. When it shows the 'family', it's almost laughable how fake and bizarre they are depicted. If one was to judge this game solely on what the characters looked like, this game would get no reviews at all. Still, one can overlook the family and skip their conversations, and jump right to the HOP'S.
I did purchase this game but was smart enough to use my FREE coupon.

Our Beautiful Earth is a HO game that does get somewhat monotonous. If it wasn't for the fun-filled games in between each HO scene, I'd probably give this game 3 stars instead of 4.
The game would be good, however, if you wanted an endless, somewhat senseless game to fill those empty, soon to be cold nights.
This is basically a game of HOS's, tons and tons of them. You do get to 'visit' different parts of the world and different places, but other than that, it's just your 'basic' game of finding the objects. Here is my synopsis of the game:
1. The music is a little annoying. 2. The graphics are not as clear as I would like, colors not as clear or crisp. More like 'drab' looking. 3. You have NO options, other than the music (off/on), sound (off/on), reset your profile (although I'm not sure why you'd want to), and a ? for help. One thing in regard to your profile, it gives you the option of adding a NEW name, but there's no way to save that name, because all you have is an arrow at the bottom of the screen which only takes you out of that particular screen and doesn't save anything. You can actually save a name when you start the game. Then it gives you the option of saving it. 4. The game is timed, which I absolutely HATE. If you happen to run out of time. you can still finish looking for the hidden objects. You just won't get any points for finding the items in time. 5. The hidden objects, some of them, are well hidden and sometimes all blended together to the point that you can't ascertain one object from the other. You do get 5 hints in each scene.
First of all, Big Fish offers many games with similar names: Adventure Trip, Road Trip, and Adventure Road Trip. I've never played Road Trip USA so I have nothing to compare this game to. But I quickly discovered ONE thing: I LOVE THIS GAME. It has A LOT to offer. Here are just a few things that it offers:
1. Choice of cat avatars: Bear, Ninja, and Max. 2. The graphics are good. Colors are not as bright as I'd like. 3. You get your choice of player mode: Tourist, Traveler, Explorer, and Adventurer. 4. You have robots, cats, and shields to find in each scene and sometimes they were hard to find.
There are other things this game provides, but I will let others share them with you. This game will entertain you for hours. Try the demo and see for yourself. Show Less
I have Paint-by-numbers 1 & 2 and enjoy both of them. But, in my opinion, this is the best of the 3 and for one simple fact:
THE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL
This is one of the MAJOR reasons for choosing my games. I don't prefer the games that are on the 'dark' side, whether it be by the type of game, or more importantly, the dark, drab scenes.
If you want a care-free, easy-going game, and one that offers you the joy of working with beautiful colors than this game is for you.
