BASED ON 45 MINS OF DEMO PLAY ONLY:
I've got every single one of the Witches Legacy games, but haven't played them in awhile, so I was pleased to see a new game offered. Here are my PROS & CONS:
PROS
1. STORYLINE: Other reviews will go into lengthy detail regarding the background of the Witches Legacy or this game, so I won't waste your time reading it again, or my time writing it. Suffice to say, the story adds intrigue and mystery to an already familiar series.
2. CUTSCENES/GRAPHICS: The graphics are superbly done with no blurry scenes noted. Colors are crisp and clean.
3. FUN FACTOR: I found this game fun to play. Some people don't like it when developers have a 'HELPER in their games, and I agree with 'some' of the games and 'some' of the helpers. But the ferret helper (Bertha) in this game is humorous and fun to watch what antics she gets into
4. HOS: Superb. They are fun to play, not too easy, and not too hard. There is also that 'uniqueness' that I haven't seen in a while that makes playing them more than just interesting. You also have the option to play a Match 3 game if you prefer, instead of the HOS.
5. MINI-GAMES/PUZZLES: A joy to play. Minigames/puzzles are not my favorite part of any game, and I tend to skip many of them. But these weren't too difficult, even for me.
PROS
The only PRO that I could find in the 45 minutes of gameplay were the voices of the eerie skeletons hanging in the tree, nor the other 'creeps' in the game. They weren't in the least bit scary. If you're going to have a supposedly scary game, make it SCARY.
All in all, I enjoyed this game and will add it to my already previously purchased series. Like my title suggests: all of us have differing opinions, and IMO, this game is a definite buy. But like always, give the demo a try. Enjoy :)"
I recommend this game!

BASED ON 30 MINS OF GAMEPLAY (DEMO):
There will be other reviewers that will go into detail about the storyline, detailed descriptions of the mini-games/ puzzles, and other various things about this game. I'll just touch on the PROS & CONS of the game:
PROS
1. An excellent storyline that could possibly be true in some aspects. This recent Christmas holiday brought in Virtual Reality as the new 'IN' game.
2. The cutscenes (for a change), are clear and distinct. Most cutscenes (in other games) are usually blurry, but this game is an exception. The lip-synching does a fair job also.
3. The graphics in this game are nicely done. The color palette matches the appropriate scene without becoming overbearing or using undertones.
4. When getting inside the virtual capsule, a unique feature is being able to choose from four different male faces and four different body types.
5. Another unique feature is when you have to type in messages to the male character on the laptop in the lab. You are ACTUALLY typing in your response, and he is ACTUALLY responding back, just as if you were texting each other or talking on Facebook. (**It's the 'little extras' that make a game stand out from the others**).
6. The mini-games/puzzles were really different and unique, but still difficult, IMO (some of them). Some gamers have the brains to fly through puzzles and/or mini-games without difficulties. Me, on the other hand, not so much. This isn't an area that I usually feel comfortable with, plus the fact, that in demos, your time is limited. (I know, I'm making excuses for my lack of skills).
7. An interactive map that shows you whether you've completed a scene, and where you still have things to do (a very helpful item to have). Plus it's transportable.
8. HOS's: The HOS that really stands out is the one prior to going inside the crypt. There are four coffins (the one lying on the floor, has a skeleton hand coming out from beneath it, which just gives us an added extra 'little something' feature that makes this game worthwhile). On these coffins are green, glowing dots. Down below you have four symbols and you have to match a particular green dot to that symbol. Once you do this, you then have listed items to find. This is a HOS that I haven't seen before but hope to see again.
CONS
I could find nothing negative to say about this game, other than the fact that I had to stop playing and face the REAL world. I will possibly purchase this game, as I enjoyed the CE, but don't need all of the extras.
By the way, if you take a look at the current Christmas season, Virtual Reality is an up and coming new way to enjoy playing your games. If you haven't tried anything related to VR, you don't know what you're missing. I tried a VR in 1998. I got to 'build' my own roller coaster, THEN take a VR ride. An AWESOME experience that I'll never forget.
All in all, give the demo a try. Enjoy :)
I recommend this game!

BASED ON 60 MINS OF DEMO PLAY ONLY:
I have every single one of the Dark Tales, Edgar Allan Poe SE games, and was anxious to see what this game had to offer. It did not disappoint. Here are my pros & cons:
PROS
1. SCARE FACTOR: This has it all. It starts before you even begin the game, in the area where you choose your options, profile name, etc.. It displays a raven and a female-looking creature with an eerie mask. MUSIC: Very game appropriate. SCENES: It's everything you'd expect in this genre of game. The scene that shows three ravens (two missing their heads) looking down into a basin of water. You might not look innocently at water in the same way ever again.
2. GRAPHICS: The cutscenes are slightly above average with that eerie, misty-looking appearance which only adds to the overall mystery of the game. LIP-SYNCING: Very good with good, deep male voiceovers.
3. ATTENTION TO DETAIL: The developer went somewhat beyond the average when it comes to even the smallest of detail. From the blood coming from the house owner's mouth to the blood lying next to him after shooting himself in the head (allegedly) to the gun shop owner's whole physique added to the game. His beard, rough voice, messy hair, and clothing makes the game more realistic, IMO. Every SINGLE detail is important and gives the game the appropriate ambiance.
4. MINI-GAMES/PUZZLES: Puzzles are not my favorite, and this game was no exception. When playing the demo, you are aware of time restraints. This in itself only makes the puzzles probably harder than they actually are. Some of the puzzles ARE harder, IMO, but still with that fun factor.
CONS
1. ITEMS TO COLLECT: Being absorbed totally in the game (and time restraints in the back of my mind), I didn't look for things that I'm supposed to collect in order to gain achievements. There will be other reviewers who will go into detail about achievements, things to collect, etc., so I won't waste your time.
2. COMPARISON TO OTHER DARK TALES- EAP GAMES: This game, however, didn't QUITE meet up to the other games overall, IMO.
All in all, I will wait for the SE to come out and add it to my complete collection of Dark Tales: EAP games. Like always, give the demo a try. Enjoy :)
I recommend this game!

You would think that after three previous versions of the Holiday Jigsaw Christmas puzzle games (and getting not-so-good reviews), that the developer '8FLOOR GAMES', would know that we are tired of:
OLD PUZZLES
EXACT REPLICAS OF PREVIOUS VERSIONS
SAME OPTIONS/SETTINGS
SAME BASIC MUSIC
And that we want our Holiday puzzle games to be:
NEW
A GOOD VARIETY OF PUZZLES
ENJOYMENT & FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY
MUSIC THAT MATCHES THE THEME (and not necessarily music that you hear in an elevator)
If you've played any of the previous versions from any of the other Holiday Jigsaw puzzles, then you know that you are given five categories for which to choose from. In this game, you are given the following:
DECORATION
WINTER
FAMILY
TREATS
PRESENTS
You also get the same settings/options, but I won't go into detail, as other reviewers probably will. Under options, you get the following: magnifying glass, ghost, image, border, hint, and sort. Under options, you get the following: music and sound volume, and choice of background colors: pink, green, blue, or off-white.
If you happen to have an extra FREE game token lying around the house, and the date is about to expire, then MAYBE you might want to use it on this game. If not, and you've played Holiday Jigsaw Christmas puzzle 1, 2, or 3, then you probably won't be purchasing this one, as it is exactly the same.

BASED ON ONLY 15 MINS OF GAMEPLAY:
Move over Vacation Adventure: Park Ranger; or Vacation Adventure: Cruise Director. There's a new fellow in town, and his name is Santa.
This game has the same format that the above games have, except this game is full of beautiful graphics, colors that are bright and shiny, and fun things to find. You also have some extra bonuses to find, such as three gold Christmas trees, and lost & found hidden silhouettes items to find. You have items that are highlighted in RED which indicates that this item is hidden within something else, and an interactive item to find, such as feeding a calf his bottle. One thing that was left out of this game was the trash can. It wouldn't have been appropriate to have trash lying around all of the beautiful toys, and other items. (A nice thought from the developer: Casual Arts)
The music is also delightful, not over-Christmasy, but just the right amount of good listening to enhance our gameplay. The puzzles that I encountered (only three) are along the same line as the VA games but are attuned to the Christmas theme.
All in all, for those of you who absolutely LOVE the Vacation Adventure games, you'll also love this one. Add it to your Christmas list, and see if Santa makes your wish come true. As always give the demo a try before you buy. Enjoy :)
I recommend this game!

I usually submit my PRO's and CON's with my reviews, but I couldn't think of one single PRO, other than the fact that I could quickly get out of the game, and delete it from my game manager. That's what I've been doing lately. Before I'd keep a game in my game manager, it seemed like forever. Now I've gotten smarter, and I delete them straight away. Why keep unnecessary things on your laptop/computer, if you know for a fact 'right away' that you'll never play it?
I agree with someone else's review about the earlier 'Myths of the World' games. They were great, but lately, they seemed to have slid down a slippery slope into BORING.
All in all, give the demo a try. It might be right up your alley. Enjoy :)
I don't recommend this game.

BASED ON 30 MINS OF GAMEPLAY ONLY (DEMO)
Anyone who has been with Big Fish for a while is familiar with all of the Holiday-themed puzzles. This recent addition isn't anything that we haven't seen before. Here are my PROS & CONS:
PROS
1. *(NEW)* AREA TO COMPLETE PUZZLE: On all of the other Holiday-themed puzzles, the area that is previously given to work on your puzzle, was NEVER large enough. In this latest addition, the working area is bigger, thus this is a definite PLUS, IMO.
2. *(NEW)*: You can add your name as a player. There has only been one other game that I can think of, that gave you this option.
3. GRAPHICS: The colors are cheery and bright and appropriate for the Christmas season. Colors of reds, greens, purples, oranges, blues, pinks, and white, with an occasional light gray, are used.
4. CATEGORIES: You get the following to choose from
A. DECORATION
B. WINTER
C. FAMILY
D. TREATS
E. PRESENTS
5. 500 PUZZLES: In each category, you get 13 pages of puzzles to choose from.
6. STANDARD OPTIONS: You get the following that is standard on ALL of the Holiday-themed puzzles:
A. GHOST: An outlined image of the puzzle is displayed within the puzzle itself. (CON: this 'ghostly' image is way too dark. The definition of a ghost is something wispy, fleeting, almost see-thru).
B. IMAGE: A completed picture of the puzzle is displayed in the upper right-hand corner. You can choose three different aspects of the picture.
C. MAGNIFYING GLASS (self-explanatory)
D. BORDER: This option is a PLUS for anybody that loves to play with puzzles. It makes it so much nicer to have all of the outside edges finished first before you do the actual 'guts' of the puzzle.
E. HINT (self-explanatory)
F. SORT: This option sorts the shapes and colors of the puzzle pieces, and puts them into each of their own pile/group.
7. SETTINGS: As mentioned above, the settings are exactly the same as in previous versions of the Holiday-themed puzzles:
A. BACKGROUND COLOR: You can choose from pink, light green, dark blue, and white.
B. MUSIC AND SOUND: (self-explanatory)
C. CURSOR: There is no particular holiday cursor. The only difference between the default cursor and the game cursor is the size. The game cursor is much larger AND as an extra bonus, you get a sparkly, tail-like reaction coming from the cursor whenever you click on something (Sorry, I had a hard time trying to describe the reaction coming from the cursor when used).
D. MODIFY: Here you can choose the number of pieces, and also the puzzle cut/shape.
CONS:
1. MUSIC: The music was the kind of music you would hear in an elevator, or in a solemn, dull concert. The Christmas season is full of good cheer, gifts, nice food and drink, and family get-togethers. Therefore, the music should be upbeat, fun, and something that will get you and keep you in the holiday mood/spirit.
2. SAME OLE SAME OLD: You would think by now that the developers of these Holiday-themed puzzles would offer new and exciting things to attract its audience/customers. But everything is EXACTLY the same except for what I noted above (SEE *).
NOTE: In the description page of the game, it stated that if you completed certain 'tasks', you would be rewarded with trophies. By only playing 30 minutes of the DEMO, I saw nothing that displayed this BONUS.
All in all, if you are just in the market for new puzzles that you've never seen or worked on before, then this game would be for you. But if you are like most players, and you are looking for an 'overall package' when it comes to your game playing experience, then this game is definitely NOT for you.
I recommend this game!

BASED ON 60 MINS OF DEMO PLAY ONLY:
I've seen other Christmas games offered here on Big Fish, but I've never found one that I enjoyed playing, as much as this one. Other reviewers will go into extensive detail as far as what the story is about, the collectibles/achievements, etc. so I won't repeat it. But here is just a brief synopsis of what your goal is:
Your sister has been kidnapped by an evil woman (witch??). In order to find her, you must complete three good deeds, which will be collected inside a glass snowball artifact. You'll have to deal with an evil looking elf to achieve your goal.
Here are my PROS & CONS:
PROS:
1. CUTSCENE: A nice beginning cutscene with good, clear, colors. Most cutscenes in other games are oftentimes on the blurry side, but this one was exceptionally well-done.
2. MUSIC: Very delightful and cheery Christmas music that will delight even the 'Scrooge' in some of us.
3. MAP: A transportable map that is given to you at the beginning of the game, which is always a plus.
4. HIDDEN OBJECT SCENE: My favorite was the one where you must match the inside items (inside Christmas presents) with other items in the other presents (12 items). It was an easy game, but there are several items in each present, so you need a good memory.
5. GRAPHICS: Excellent is the word that quickly comes to my mind. Very clear colors, that were crisp, distinct, and concise. Seeing all of the reds, greens, whites, silvers, and golds get you in the holiday spirit.
6. EXTRA ADDED PLEASURE: In all of the scenes, you can click on different things in the scene and get some type of interaction. This only adds to the entire gameplay as a whole.
7. A CUTE, MISCHIEVOUS ELF HELPER: He's mean until you feed him a piece of chocolate cake and unfreeze his foot. He can climb into small spaces, etc.
8. PUZZLES/MINI-GAMES: The ones that I encountered were fun and easy.
CONS
Sorry, but I was unable to find one single thing that I didn't like or enjoy. This is a Christmas game, and it's meant to be a cheery, fun game, with an added touch of mischief and mayhem. This will have to be the first Christmas game that I will purchase, even though I don't necessarily need the extra goodies of a CE, and also because I'm sort of a Scrooge. Maybe this might make me 'Unscroogable'. :)
As always, give the demo a try. Enjoy :)
I recommend this game!

AFTER COMPLETION OF DEMO:
I only have one word that quickly comes to mind after completing this bizarre, yet fascinating game:
WOW
Here are my PROS & CONS:
PROS
1. ADAM: The voice used for Adam's character is 'spot on'. It matches his persona perfectly, as well as his perfectly drawn caricature. From his roughly, worn-out clothes, to his mannerisms, this only adds to the care and attention that has obviously gone into making this game. Adam is also narrating the game, which gives you that 'detective' feel to it.
2. MUSIC: Suspenseful and dramatic that just adds one more positive thing to 'get you drawn into the game'.
3. COMICBOOK STYLE: I've never seen or played a game that resembled a comic book. ANOTHER unusual style of gameplay.
4. FIREY DEMON: Extremely realistic and as it is written in red on the description page of the game (WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT), the computer-generated drawings gives the player an intense 'kick in the gut' reaction that makes you feel like you are actually in a virtual reality, and you're fighting the man who was starting these fires, as well as the 'demon' behind it all.
5. ADAM'S TOOLS: You have been given a GUN (a rather large one), that glows when you need to use it. You also have a FINGERPRINTING CASE that was used once in the demo and it was rather fun to use and capture the fingerprint. Then you have the EYE where you have a particular scene that darkens, four items are misplaced and highlighted (glowing). You then have to put these four clues in a logical order to find out what specifics/clues, were left. A GPS and a CELL PHONE are also two of Adam's tools. Last, but not least is the WATCH that allows you to see things in the past when setting a specific time.
6. A transportable map that is given right away.
7. HOP'S & PUZZLES: Interesting, different, and fun to play.
CONS
The only thing that I can come up with as far as a negative is that the demo ended way too soon (only given 60 mins of gameplay). It went super fast, and I found myself literally disappointed that it ended so soon.
I'm not the type of person that likes to go 'outside the box'. I feel more comfortable with things I'm more familiar with (I'm 58 for one thing), but I think I might have to step outside, catch a breeze, and get my toes wet (so to speak), and purchase this game, just to see if stepping 'outside the box' is really worth it. I highly recommend others who feel the same to get YOUR toes wet (just a metaphor, of course).
I recommend this game!

Other reviewers will go into detail about the storyline, detailed descriptions of mini-games, or puzzles, and other various things about this game, and other games as well. My review will only cover my PROS & CONS of the game:
PROS
1. An excellent storyline that is possibly believable because the virtual reality gameplay is an up and coming type of gaming that is fast becoming popular.
2. The cutscenes (for a change), are clear and distinct. Most cutscenes (in other games) are usually blurry, but this game is an exception. The lip-synching does a fair job also.
3. The graphics in this game are superb. The color palette matches the appropriate scene without becoming overbearing or using undertones.
4. When getting inside the virtual capsule, a unique feature was being able to choose from four different male faces and four different body types. I'm not sure where this 'person' comes into play, as I thought I was a female, because prior to choosing the face or body type, you choose female or male. (But it's possible that (in my sleepiness, as it's only 0500), I chose the male symbol by mistake).
5. Another unique feature is when you have to type in messages to Steven on the laptop. You are ACTUALLY typing in your response, and he is ACTUALLY responding back, just as if you were texting each other or talking on Facebook.
7. An interactive map that shows you if you've collected all of the flowers, whether you've completed a scene, and where you still have things to do (a very helpful item to have).
9. There are collectible flowers in each scene. They can be found 'anywhere'.
10. I was too absorbed in the game to hear the music, but I'm sure it fits each scene accordingly.
CONS
I could find nothing negative to say about this game, other than the fact that it was time to rise and shine and start my day, so I, therefore, had to stop playing the rest of the demo and write this review. But I will get back to it, and when I gather some extra funds, this will be a definite buy for me (and I don't usually purchase CE's because I can do without the bells and whistles).
All in all, give the demo a try. You might be pleasantly surprised. Enjoy :)
