We are probably all familiar with the Holiday puzzles that come out around a specific holiday, (Halloween, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas). This is your Thanksgiving Holiday Jigsaw puzzle. Here is what this puzzle game offers:
You get five categories of puzzles to choose from:
Decoration
Autumn
Family
Treats
Countryside
Each category has 13 pages of puzzles to choose from, which come to a whopping total of 500 puzzles. This in itself is a great reason to purchase the game, or at least try the demo. The pictures are high quality, with the colors distinct and very clear. At the very beginning of the game, before you start your first puzzle, you're given a small 'tutorial' on how to rotate a piece, etc.
Here are helpful tips to pick from that will aid you in completing your puzzle:
IMAGE: An image of the actually completed puzzle will show up in the upper right corner.
GHOST: This gives the actually completed puzzle, but in a ghostly image that is shown within the puzzle you're working on. This helps in some of the more difficult, and the higher number of pieced puzzles.
MAGNIFYING GLASS: I have never used this in any of the many puzzles that I"ve worked on in the past, but it can be helpful to some people with vision difficulties, as it 'magnifies' a certain puzzle piece.
BORDER: This is a MUST in any puzzle, IMO. I use this every single time I begin any puzzle. It only displays the outer border of the puzzle.
SORT: This sorts the same colored puzzle pieces together in a small group. I've never used this but I tried it out, and I do like this feature.
SETTINGS: Here are the options given:
1. MUSIC VOLUME: (This is the same music that is used in all of the Holiday jigsaw games, unfortunately)
2. SOUND VOLUME: (This is a + for me because the more zang and zing I get when I click on something or finish a puzzle, or what have you, the more it adds to the entire fun of playing any game, IMO).
3. BACKGROUND COLOR: (You can choose from pink, light green, dark blue, and an off-white).
4. PUZZLE CUT: (This gives you the choice of picking how you want the puzzle piece to look. Give it a more rounded curve, or go crazy and make the puzzle piece look like not your 'typical' puzzle piece).
5. NUMBER OF PIECES: (You can choose from 1-225 in the number of pieces you want in ANY puzzle. At the bottom of every puzzle, it will show you how many pieces are in that particular puzzle. You can change that and pick how many pieces YOU want to work with).
6. BOX IN UPPER LEFT-HAND CORNER: (This is a must for all of the Holiday Jigsaw puzzles, because of the area that you have to complete or put together your puzzle, is small. By dragging some of the puzzle pieces into this box, it gives you much needed space to work with).
**A little something that I noticed (and liked) is when you use your cursor, for whatever reason, and you land on something, or what have you, little orange-colored, glittering stars come out from the end of your cursor. I like this little EXTRA that is displayed**
All of the Holiday Jigsaw Puzzles have the exact same things (same music and the same settings). The only difference between all of the puzzles is the theme. The five categories fit the holiday, as does the accompanying pictures.
As usual, if you're a collector of the Holiday Jigsaw Puzzles (as I am), give the demo a try and/ or purchase it. Otherwise, enjoy :)
I recommend this game!

AFTER COMPLETING THE DEMO ONLY:
I haven't purchased many of the previous games in this series, except for one, "Grim Facade: Hidden Sins", but after playing this game, I will now have purchased two. This game simply 'blew me away'.
HERE ARE MY PROS AND CONS
PROS:
1. Excellent voiceover for the villain, and the introduction. The introduction sets the tone for the rest of the game. It has to grab our attention, and the voices used here will grab your attention.
2. The graphics are outstanding: clear, crisp, and the color palette appropriate and concise.
3. The music fits each scene nicely.
4. The HOS's are fun and on the easy side with your usual variety.
5. The mini-games/puzzles are challenging. You have the option of choosing between casual and hard. But they are usually completed in a 2-4 step process. The one that I found to be the most interesting is the 'lock' puzzle. You have to solve one puzzle before going on to the other three before the lock is opened. These puzzles (at least in the demo) provide you with some challenge while still giving you that fun factor as well.
6.Robotic spider: This spider is attached to the mayor's son. In order to save him, you have to get rid of the spider and this is not an easy task. You have to slide down sections of each leg to find the correct symbol that is displayed on his upper torso. This is the same for the other robotic 'creatures' that attach themselves to others in the game. This is an interesting addition that adds an extra challenge and adventure to the game.
7. Fragmented Memory Device: It sits in the lower left of your screen and lights up when you need to find memories of a particularly bad scene. You then trace it around the scene. When it gets close to a memory, it will bounce. But you have to be rather quick, as the memories tend to move around. After you've collected five (5) memories, what has happened in that scene replays itself. You also have a Cheshire-looking cat that appears, who is a rather funny talking cat.
CONS
The only 'bad' thing that I could come up with is having to collect coins, go visit 'the store', buy a specific item, then proceed to a particular scene where that object is needed to advance further into the game. Some people may like this, but IMO, I found it rather tedious.
This game is an excellent addition to the Grim Facade series, perhaps the best. It has everything that you could possibly want in a game. ERS Games Studio has done another outstanding job. As always give the demo a try. Enjoy :)
I recommend this game!

BASED ON COMPLETION OF THE DEMO:
When I first read the details about this game, I just knew that this wasn't my type of game. I don't necessarily like the sci-fi-type of games, but I'm glad I gave this a try because I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not going to go into detail about the game (like some reviewers have a tendency to do) because this takes away something from playing the game and trying it out for yourself. It's like someone giving you a gift, but telling you what it is, even before you open it.
Here are my PROS & CONS:
PROS
1. An excellent storyline.
2. Good graphics: colors are distinct, clear, and concise.
3. The music adds something to the overall theme of the game providing more excitement and suspense.
4. The mini-games/puzzles are fun to play, although some of them are a little on the difficult side. There are many of these in the 90 mins of demo play.
5. The HOS's are creative, and not just your typical 'find the item' type that is a standard. There are fluorescent vine-eating bugs to find, a book that opens up to provide you with the background on Kaine and his father (you have to put objects back in their proper place), parts of space tools/objects that you need to find and put together to aid you in your quest, and others as well.
6. My favorite two things in the game are the roller coaster (it looks so realistic), and distracting the cat off of the book with the use of a light pointer (that cats love).
CONS
The only negative thing I can say about the game is that the demo ended way too soon.
As always give this game a try. If you're like me, and this just isn't the type of game that you normally play....stop...be adventurous...and give it a try. You may be pleasantly surprised (as I was). Enjoy :)
I recommend this game!

BASED ON 60 MINS OF GAMEPLAY
Big Fish gives you a warning (written in red) on the page where the game is being displayed:
Warning - Harrowed Halls: Lakeview Lane is an intense psychological thriller intended for mature audiences.
I agree that this game is not for younger audiences, but for me, I hardly think this game is 'intense', but that's just my opinion.
You play a lawyer who has basically given up your previous life and buy a haunted house. You, of course, don't know that it is haunted. I'll let some of the other reviewers give you the low down on the 'why' it's haunted. Almost immediately, an evil person/spirit (?) kidnaps your children and locks them in one of the rooms upstairs. You have to find keys that fit the rather bizarre, difficult-looking locks. As usual, here are my PROS & CONS:
PROS
1. A diary is provided. Some people like this added addition to the game. I found it's sometimes useful, as long as the entries aren't too long to read so that it takes time away from the actual gameplay.
2 The music was rather nice. I don't usually pay too much attention to the music, but it fit each scene appropriately.
3. A transportable map that I find useful, particularly in this game, as you find yourself going from room to room, to scene to scene, backward and forwards. (WOW, I'm dizzy just writing this).
4. The mini-games/puzzles weren't too difficult, and they were also fun.
5. The voiceovers were clear and distinct, lip synch was fair.
6. The dolls looked appropriately scary, and I also liked the voice that is used (through his dolls) for the villain.
7. You get a cellphone which can locate ghosts through matching up to soundwaves. (This can be considered a + or a - depending on your own opinion).
CONS
1. The movements of the characters, especially the father in the opening cutscene. I think by now, developers should be able to come with better 'realistic' traits that resemble an actual human. (BTW: watch the father's eyes in the scene where the family is in the car).
2. Frequent movement from room to room, to the backyard, etc. which did help though due to the map that is transportable (you get this almost immediately).
3. There didn't seem to have as many HOS's in the 60 mins of gameplay.
4. The cell phone that I mentioned as a PRO, can also be considered a negative simply because (IMO), I found it somewhat difficult to match the ghost up to the soundwaves.
Bottom line: This is not my 'cup of tea', but it might be a purchase for me, as I liked the mini-games, the storyline, and the overall enjoyment of playing the demo. As always, give the demo a try. Enjoy :)
I recommend this game!

BASED ON 1 HR DEMO PLAY ONLY:
As I write this review, two other reviewers have already submitted their reviews and have given this game only 2 stars. This is all well and fine because we all are entitled to our own opinions. But maybe I'm seeing something in this game that others don't see. Nevertheless, here are my PROS & CONS:
PROS:
1. The cutscenes are clear, which is usually the opposite in most games. Even as you are choosing your options, if you click on the knife that the doll is holding, it moves. Now normally there is very little interaction in the area where you are choosing your options, etc.
2. The colors are superb. Very crisp, clean, and distinct.
3. The dolls: Very unique, each doll with different characteristics; they are scary, their movements are perfect.
4. An interesting storyline.
5. The voiceovers are well done. The characters are well drawn with almost perfect lip synch.
6. The scene where you have to shoot at the doll that is attacking you: very unique but somewhat on the difficult side, but fun to play. You have to hit her 5 times, but it's not as easy as it sounds.
7. The HOS's are easy but sometimes I think we all need to play games that are simply: easy. Although they are easy, I still find them fun and interesting. You have to find a certain # of items first before you get the item you need. You also have to put items into a book/scene.
8. You get an easy to understand transportable map at the beginning of the game. You get a green checkmark on the scenes that you have completed, which is a great thing to have, in any map.
9. Your 'helper' is a small doll that has a camera. She can fly and fit into small spaces. She takes pictures that help you progress through the game.
10. The music fits the scenes perfectly. Just enough spookiness to add to the mystery.
11. Mini-puzzles/games: They are easy, but this is always a + for me, IMO. Easy but still with that little bit of flair to make you want to play them.
12. You get to choose your character: your choice of 3 different female characters and 3 men. Later on, I think as you get coins (?), you can change their hairstyles, etc.
CONS
1. The game is macabre with murder and mayhem. The villain hangs or shoots his victims, which to some people, may seem offensive. But this is the genre of this series. I don't particularly like these type of games, but I think I do own two of the Puppet Show games but t think I may wait till the SE comes out on this one, and possibly purchase it.
This game may not appeal to some people, but I liked it. I liked the ease of the HOS's, the puzzles/mini-games, the dolls and their uniqueness. I thought the music was catchy, the driver was even attractive, his features nicely drawn. All in all give the demo a try before you buy.
Enjoy :)
I recommend this game!

BASED ON 30 MNS OF DEMO PLAY:
I only played 30 minutes of this wonderful series, because I wanted to see the NEW features the game has to offer (and also give my review), in comparison to all of the previous versions (which I have all of them). As always, here are my PROS & CONS:
PROS
1. (NEW) You only have to find 3 wildlife animals (at least that I found in the 30 mins of gameplay).
2. When you've collected all of the trash, the trashcan fills up to the top (I'd much prefer the previous version where the lid would close when you gathered all of the trash, because as anyone who has played this series before, finding all of the trash is the hardest to find (sometimes).
3. (NEW/DIFFERENT) The music is different. If you like the guitar, then you'll love the new music.
4.As far as the 'mini-games' (I'll call them that) that you play after finishing a particular scene, I haven't YET noticed anything new. I played the beginning of the game, where you had to place the various sections on the park map (this is a standard on all of the VA, PR's games). There was a puzzle that you had to put together, and another one where you had to turn the pieces around to form a picture of some sort.
5. (NEW) After finishing a scene, you get three stars (one white, one gold, and one light yellow). These show up in the box that tells whether you found all of the wildlife, the trash, and all of the items, along with your score.
CONS
I could find NO cons in the fantastic series that has delighted all of us Big Fish game players, along with the Vacation Adventure: Cruise Director games.
This is an instant buy for me. It is the type of game where you can play over and over again, without getting tired of it. As always try the demo first before you buy. Enjoy :)
I highly recommend this game.

BASED ON 50 MINS OF DEMO GAMEPLAY ONLY:
This type of game (science fiction, space related) is not something that I would even consider playing, but I still wanted to try it because you never know about something until you at least try it, right? Well, I did manage to play 50 minutes of this game and I am surprised that I lasted that long. Still, here are my pros & cons:
PROS
1. An interesting storyline that I'm sure will attract some gamers.
2. The voiceovers are good. Good lip-synch and the voices were very clear and distinct.
3. The music was appropriate for each scene, but sometimes a little 'out there'.
4. A transporter map that is easy to navigate/read (although you don't get the map right away, which could be considered a con).
5. The mini-games/puzzles (I think I encountered three) were somewhat on the difficult side, although there was one where you had to connect the black holes to its power source that I thought was rather interesting.
6. The HOS's were a little challenging, but not that hard to figure out.
CONS
1. Like I mentioned above, the transportable map doesn't appear at the beginning of the game, but shortly after. I like games where I get the map almost immediately.
2. The cutscenes were blurry, the colors drab.
3. The music (IMO) could also be considered a negative because it was somewhat distracting. I like the volume up a little when I play games because I like to hear every aspect, every nuance. It adds something that I think makes a better game. But sometimes, the music can be distracting.
4. This is not my type of game, at all, so I'm putting it in my CON section. This is just MY opinion only.
All in all, for those of you who like this type of game, you will find something that you like about it. Me, on the other hand, not so much.
I recommend this game!

An interesting game, but IMO, doesn't offer many collectibles or achievements, as other CE's (at least based on 50 minutes of playing the game). The only collectible that I came across were gems (36). Some other reviewers can give you more detail. Here are my pros & cons:
PROS
1. An interesting storyline.
2. Good quality voiceovers. The lips moved, but didn't necessarily match the voices, but came close.
3. Upbeat, yet appropriate music that would increase in tempo when the scene qualified for it.
4. The colors were distinct and clear (except in some of the cutscenes).
5. Interesting and fun mini-games/puzzles, They weren't very difficult at all (which gives me some sense of achievement, since I don't like puzzles to begin with). You also have the option of playing a Match 3.
6. Interesting and easy HOS's (only two (?) that I came across in the 50 minute of gameplay only.
7. A transportable, yet helpful map that tells you if you still need to finish a particular scene. It also closes off areas so that you don't have to go back and forth needlessly.
8. A journal that tells you your tasks/objectives, and the amount of time of gameplay.
CONS
1. An easy game which to most people is a bad thing. But if you're looking for something to pass the time away, then this game would be perfect for you.
2 The cutscenes could be a bit clearer.
All in all, try the demo. Enjoy :)

BASED ON PLAYING THE DEMO ONLY:
This type of game is not typically 'my cup of tea' but I still wanted to try the game anyway. Here are my pros & cons:
PROS:
1. A good storyline that captures your attention.
2) The HOS's are somewhat on the difficult side which gives you more of a challenge. You also have the option of playing a Match 3 game if you don't want to play the HOS (I always liked this option).
3) You can switch between the two main characters: Rachel & Richard. This type of gameplay is not often seen in games.
4. Nice graphics: clean, crisp, and the colors are appropriate for the scene.
5. The mini-games/puzzles are a challenge, but fun on the same hand. For an added touch, you have the option of choosing between EASY and HARD.
6. An interactive map.
CONS:
1. Body and lip movements: The voices don't match up with the lip movements. Developers need to make more of an effort on this part of their games. We as gamers want our characters to look and sound real...human.
All in all, I liked the CE version better, because sometimes I want all of the extras.
As always give the game a try. It might turn into being your 'cup of tea'. Enjoy :)

BASED ON 50 MINS OF DEMO GAMEPLAY ONLY
This is my first time playing a 'Chimeras' game, and it makes me glad that I decided to try it. As I've always previously stated, I don't buy CE games very often, but this game is a definite buy for me. Here are my pros & cons:
PROS
1. This game grabs your attention from the very first cutscene. I sometimes don't necessarily pay too much attention to the music, but I'd like to know the name of the song/music that is played during the beginning of this game. It is a beautiful melody. I also think that this developer (Elephant) has outdone themselves. While you are choosing your options, player name, etc. it shows a little girl lying there with her doll or teddy bear (I can't remember which one). Watch her eyes as you make your choices. This little addition to the beginning just adds a little flare, IMO.
2. The graphics are superb. Even the cutscenes are clearer than what is usually displayed. The colors are crisp, clean, and fit each scene perfectly.
3. The storyline is an essential part of EVERY game, and this storyline is interesting and makes you want to play to find out what happens.
4. The HOS's are interesting and fun. They are a mixture of silhouettes, and finding the items (this is only based on 3 HOS's that I encountered in the 50 mins of gameplay only).
5. Mini-games/puzzles were exciting and fun. This has never been an area that I necessarily enjoy, but I have to say in this particular game, I have enjoyed every single one of them, and never even skipped one.
6. An easy, interactive map that you get at the beginning of the game.
7. Some of the collections that you will encounter are puzzle pieces, umbrellas, and cards. Of course, you have your typical achievements, wallpapers, etc, but I will let other reviewers give you that information.
8. The 'chimeras' looked so realistic and scary.
CONS
I could not find one single thing that I found to be negative.
As always, please try the demo. Enjoy :)
I recommend this game!
