For years, Barton Mansion sat abandoned, a haunting reminder of an obsession gone wrong. But something sinister still lurked there...and it's stirring.

This is one of the house of horrors storyline, except the horror are the vines that shoot out from the house and entrap you in its grips.
Expert mode allows Hint, Skip, and helpful messages. Not much hint is needed, as actions to take are easy to intuit. Most puzzles are easy. There are more puzzles than HOPs, and a lot of puzzles to conquer in order to progress. Many of the puzzles don't have reset buttons, but are easy. The harder puzzles do have reset button.
It's not a spectacular game, but well done in all aspects for an enjoyable game experience. Reminds me of the Mystery Tales series that seem to have been discontinued.
I recommend this game!

I've played bad games before, and this isn't one of them.
It's actually a good game, decent length, and mostly easy puzzles and HOPs. The setting is a bit dystopian, with science fiction-like creatures with big floppy ears, and a blind Athena-like queen.
Expert mode disables Hint & Skip, but has helpful messages, which is plenty of guidance for experienced fishies. Most actions to take are intuitive and obvious.
I did not find the story disjointed. It's actually pretty creative, but some of the explanations about the story framework are superfluous and does not add to the action or suspense.
This is a highly playable game, and enjoyable.
I recommend this game!

This is quite an involved game when played on expert mode, which does allow Hint, Skip and helpful messages. Despite this, it makes for a long game because you have actions to take all over the place and have to go back to places encountered from beginning of game even as you are near the end of the game.
The actions to take are not always intuitive or logical, which slowed me down considerably. However, here's a big hint: on the Map feature of expert mode, the next action to take is the scene in COLOR. Once you know that, you will progress rapidly and will feel like a genius.
The Map is invaluable, as you are literally roaming all over the place and some rooms transform into horror vs normal mode.
The ending is abrupt and left me wondering who the villain was.
However, if you want a long game, this game fulfills that order.
I recommend this game!

I do agree with some of the reviews. The intro cut scene is not very good compared to other games, but the story improves as you progress.
The artwork for the people are not realistic and cartoonish as some have noted, but the scenes are excellent. Voiceovers employ a few people for a whole range of characters, and they don't always match the appearance of the character and they do talk s-l-o-w.
The puzzles and HOPs are standard variety, mostly easy, but actions to take are mostly logical and fun to play on expert mode.
It's not a very long game, but I found it enjoyable enough.
I recommend a demo to try for yourself.

1st game in series made me a huge fan. Unfortunately, the sequel does not live up to the excellence of the 1st game.
The artwork is not as nice, voiceovers sound discombobulated from the characters on the screen or just don't match appearance of characters. The story is not as compelling.
I loved the 1st game, this game not so much. Sorry.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a fairly creative story taking place in a circus involving a madman scientist magician who snags a beautiful girl, and you must save the damsel in distress before it's too late.
The intro cut scene is one of the better ones--it rhymes!
The characters are beautifully drawn. Voiceovers are mostly good, with only a few that don't match the character.
Artwork is very good, but not high def.
Puzzles are mostly do-able, and you can choose casual vs hard. Hard core level allows hint, skip, and helpful messages.
This game had good gameplay, and I enjoyed it. It's a pretty long game when played on hard mode.
I recommend this game!

This is a really good game. The artwork is excellent, high def throughout, colorful, bright.
The title of the game sounds sinister and creepy, but the interior scenes are contemporary and no haunted mansions. Story is good with surprising twist regarding the true villain.
HOPs are mildly challenging, with several having list of objects with letters all jumbled, so you have to unscramble the word in order to find ( a puzzle within an HOP).
Puzzles are easy, but 4-5 are moderately challenging.
Hardcore mode disables hint & skip, but helpful messages remain, and you can change challenge level any time or set custom mode.
Not sure why this game doesn't have better ratings. I rate it a BUY.
I recommend this game!

This is a little gem of a game that doesn't get enough promo on BFG.
The story is excellent, easy to follow, and plausible (for fairytale/legend). I appreciate that the devs didn't go crazy writing an elaborate background story with extraneous details that detract from the overall narrative arc.
The artwork is not as nice as I would like, but is high def, and some interior scenes are gorgeous and wallpaper-worthy.
The puzzles are easy, but that's OK by me. HOPs are standard variety, but some items are well camouflaged.
I like that hardcore mode allows Hint, Skip and helpful messages.
The best part, and tremendous value, of the game is you get 2 collectibles (14 imp cards, 20 glimmering mirrors) hidden throughout the game, achievements, replayable puzzles/HOPs/cut scenes, wallpapers, concept art, ie all the bling of a CE game, but at SE price. There is a room with all your achievements, collectibles displayed. The imp cards are cute.
I was pleasantly surprised by this game, and will be looking to buy the other game in the series.
Thank you for a wonderful gaming experience.
I recommend this game!

This game is a joy to play. The story is good, puzzles and HOPs are not too hard, actions to progress make sense. Voiceovers are excellent.
I was worried about not having a blog walkthrough, but it's really not needed. Even on hardcore mode, you get Hint, Skip, and helpful messages.
I have played other games from this dev, but this is by far their best game. Really well done. Love it.
I recommend this game!

This game falls short of 5 stars due to artwork and more than average brain teaser puzzles.
The artwork is nice, but it's not in high def, so ends up looking blurry,
The game is good for people who like brain teasers. The puzzles look deceptively easy or straightforward, but end up being hard to solve. A few is OK, but almost a third of puzzles are harder than usual, which ruins it for me. Some of the puzzles lack a Reset button, which is helpful if the puzzle is challenging. However, hardcore mode allows for Hint, skip, and even helpful messages.
Other than these 2 quibbles, the story is good and the game is quite long. Voiceovers are very good and match the visual appearance of the characters. Actions to progress are intuitive and make sense (with the helpful messages).
I recommend this game!
