Poor Anna was just enjoying her glass of wine and ONCE AGAIN she has to go out and save her relatives.
I enjoyed this game. It started out kind of slow, but it was a pretty lengthy game for an SE and I eventually got into it. I didn't even notice that the characters were less realistic until all the reviewers pointed it out.
The reason I gave it four stars instead of the usual five is that the story line was familiar on more than one point. The whole "ghost in a boarding school with a young relative" game has already been done, as well as the "my father tried to kill me to gain immortality" theme. Perhaps Anna should take a break from her relatives and visit some haunted friends instead? There's a lot of stories you could come up with that involve her very cool abilities. I would also like to see more with her and her new husband. Let Anna have a little fun for once!
I'm a big fan of "Grim Tales" and I really look forward to "Christmas Stories" every year, so when I saw this one, I knew I had to have it...and I was right!
This game was awesome! You have to work your way through a very spooky house, plus a demented otherworldly version of the house to save your friend. The graphics alone made it worth it! Plus, you get to tie up loose ends and explore an additional house on the bonus game.
I normally don't buy CE's, but I'm glad I did this time. The collectibles were really cool! Plus there were pieces of pictures you collected all over, as well as achievements for certain milestones. If you're like me and you can't see very well, they have an awesome walk-through that shows you where everything is as well as how to complete every puzzle.
It's the perfect game to get you in the mood for Halloween!
I enjoyed this game. To me, neither sequels have been better than the first, but they each have their own merits and are worth playing. I like the idea of walking through someone's nightmare and seeing a scarier version of the real world in which you live, and I'm always a sucker for a horror game. In the end, though, I could only give it 4 stars because it was simply too short. I'm still glad I played it, though.
The warning about the graphics were a bit unnecessary, as others have mentioned. There was one scene where a man kept jumping around the room that was a bit creepy, but not explicit. I don't think it would be safe for people that have issues with flashes of lights, though, and there was plenty of that in this game.
I was a big fan of the first Maze game, so I was super excited when this one came out. It didn't disappoint!
You're trapped in a tower, being held there by artificial intelligence, and you have to use your wits to get out of it. This is definitely a story for our times, what with all the new AI coming out and the fears people have about them.
My only critique is that the game seemed very short. You'll have no problem getting through it, though, because like most HO game nowadays it has customizable settings if you so choose them.
The story line was excellent, very unique, but over all I have to admit I was sorely disappointed in this game, especially in light of the great reviews.
For one thing, the hints were extremely vague. And you only got one skip for the entire game. I like games that challenge me, but the only way I got through this one was by using the online walkthroughs. Sometimes, even the walkthroughs weren't helpful because several games were random. The absolute worse was the minesweeper-type game at the very end. I'm terrible at that particular game, so I spent HOURS hitting every block and going back to start all over.
Also, for a game that came out in 2015, the graphics weren't very impressive. Adventure games have a long way to go to catch up with the graphics of today's HO games. This one was reminiscent of something from around 10 years ago.
My suggestion is to try it on a trial basis, because this game is definitely not for everyone.
Having to think your way out of a frozen research facility is only half the battle...you'll have a pretty big surprise waiting for you at the end.
This game reminded me of the Nancy Drew games, the way you had to think your way from place to place. The scenery can get a bit dreary at times, but it's an abandoned research facility in the frozen north, so it is what it is. One of the best features of this game is that you could hit the hint button and it would tell you exactly what to do if you get stuck (and you WILL get stuck).
This time instead of dealing with ice or vines, you're dealing with purple fog. There were lots of fun mini-games to be played along with the usual HO scenes. A lot of people found the music to be monotonous, but I thought it was lovely. And as usual, the art and graphics were breathtaking.
Not to give anything away, but even the villain has a happy ending.
So, in this game, we have a mash-up of fairy tale characters (Sleeping Beauty and Rumpelstiltskin) that are wreaking havoc on a castle. This time, instead of needing to remove ice, you have to remove deadly overgrown roses and release souls that are all under heavy contracts.
I really enjoyed this game. It had a bloodthirsty box, killer mazes and vengeful relatives. What more could you ask for?
I recommend this game!

Living Legends: Wrath of the Beast
Help Goldilocks's son protect his village from invading bears!
The story revolves around Goldilocks and her husband and son. I don't want to give anything away but suffice it to say her son is "beary" special.
For the first time in the series, we get customizable setting options with this game. The story was rather an interesting one and the puzzles were fun and just challenging enough. Can't wait to see what they have in store for us next time!
I recommend this game!

Living Legends: Frozen Beauty Collector's Edition
The Queen has chosen your sister as her successor.
I've had this game on my computer for about 4 years and I still go back and play it again. It's THAT good!!
You get a lot of bang for your buck with this game. The SE game itself is pretty long and then you get a bonus chapter with the CE. They also have a really cool trophy room and my favorite part...a cute little squirrel to fix up a cozy house for!!!
This game is a big step up from the first in the series (Ice Rose). They've added a map and voice-overs. It's loosely based upon the Snow White and the Evil Queen story (the evil queen even VERY closely resembles Charlize Theron). The puzzles are challenging and loads of fun and there was SO much to do. You'll love it!!!
