I like the 'no timer' and 'no max moves'. BUT this Developer just repeats the same game play over...and over.. and over. And, in THIS case, even the Tiles are boring and simplified.
This is just like the 'Free to Play' games, but THIS does NOT COST YOU REAL MONEY like those do. The challenges are excellent, fun to spin the wheel, use the one-arm bandit, collect gold for lots different accomplishments. I beat all the obstacles, build all the buildings and men upgrade. BUT, there is one extremely annoying glitch. Though I DID complete ALL the 100 levels (including last level 120 4 TIMES), the Award for this of extra $250 gold DOES show available, but will not activate so have to hard reboot. Doesn't seem to affect future play, just can never get last award. Still, really enjoying Match 3 when there are almost no new ones coming out.
I recommend this game!

Imperial Island: Birth of an Empire
Help Emperor Omadan restore a prosperous empire in this gripping Match 3 game!
the board did NOT go into "SLOW MOTION" SO BAD that IT TAKES OVER 1 MINUTE to show the results of ONE MOVE! BUT, this only happens on 10% of the levels, so I kept hoping it would go back to normal. Note that this extreme slow motion is so bad on 3 of the OTHER Imperial Islands...but, for some reason, II 5 did NOT have ANY slow motion problems and I really enjoyed that. Too bad it took them 4 previous games to fix the problem.
Too many glitches to keep enjoying. I've finished Level 55. Still at first scene without any more scene or animation upgrades available, no castle, just landscape with some animations. Shows zero Castle2, zero Carresse? Now having to activate 3-4 times with access violation errors. But, I am STILL able to continue playing the game - just no ability to upgrade the scenes.
I really hope Suricate can fix these problems as I am a big fan of all their previous games (bought them all). This one, however, apparently just rushed out too soon.
Too frequent 'access violations' - but so far always able to retry or continue. As in previous games, it takes almost half the game to get maximum chest access. In this game, no more enhancements to cute scene for many levels, and no new scene appears. Even given all that, their series are among the best.
I cannot believe all the good reviews for this. I was able to get to level 65 with a minimum enjoyment. But, starting level 66 and on, the ENTIRE GAME PLAY moved in SUPER SLOW MOTION, taking so long to complete every play that I gave up! Too bad as I DID really enjoy Imperial Island 5 all the way through - MUCH BETTER GAME PLAY.
We ended up just stopping playing this altogether after the 5th scene. We really enjoy this series Hidden Object Scenes part. BUT, the game FREQUENTLY pops up block slide, jigsaw, word puzzle, etc. MINI-GAMES which we do NOT want to play but HAVE NO CHOICE EXCEPT to SIT AND WAIT for 2-3 MINUTES if we want to be able to go to the next scene.
The Developers should ALLOW an INSTANT 'SKIP' for those like us, which still gives those who like these type of mini games a chance to play them.
Really like their Solitaire Mini-Games. Those present a much nicer challenge than most Solitaire games as they allow you one card space to be able to move one card temporarily from board to get longer match string.
...or at least Laruaville 9 (and I'll try another one that was also rated well). My first reaction to these 3 similar series was all the screens were way too busy and distracting - and figuring out the access to walled off screens and keeping fire extended enough to clear the coins, was just too confusing. But I got the hang of it with this game and am starting to really like it. A couple levels were just illogical, but the rest have been nice, enjoying challenges. And even the Mah Jong and Solitaire games offer a user-friendly "third" place to store a tile, which is so much better than Solitaire games where you go through 15-20 cards before you can make a match, with no real bonuses to work with.
I've enjoyed the previous Mystika Match 3, and the developer's added some really nice extra touches to make this one my favorite of the group. Nice clean graphics, fun special effects, more explosive power-ups so you don't get stuck so easily trying to get that last 1 or 2 tiles cleared like a few levels in previous versions.
