The demo was good...so good that I bought it. The rest of the game was not so good. Terrible gameplay, not user friendly at all. The good news is, the HOS were good, the bad news, not very many existed. The hint button lied. It does not give hints. I have a problem with directions in games (as in real life) and I got lost many times. I found the map useless, confusing. All the effort is put into the demo and the rest of the game is thrown together. Okay, perhaps that's a bit unfair, as the lovely graphics, humour, atmosphere and sound effects remain exceptional to the end. To get a second opinion, I enlisted the help of an expert gamer friend who got me to the end, but said that they found it to be very poor game play.
Good value for money, addictive and lots of fun. It also has the bonus of being relaxing. You gather resources and complete quests. The game and story ended when I was on Level 29 and there were no more quests after that. One thing I would say, don't pre-empt the quests and prepare food or fully upgrade camp equipment in advance, as there will be quests for that later on. For instance, I had almost upgraded everything and some of the quests on each level is to upgrade something. I was lucky that I had a couple of things not fully upgraded, otherwise, I couldn't have done that quest. The same goes for food. Don't waste time cooking food in advance because you'll just have to cook it again when the quest comes up,
Take on the role of Emyr, probably the realm’s most famous hero. That is, until his career was destroyed by a dreadful wound. Now, Emyr works in the tavern.
Lovely graphics and good characters in this time management game. The storyline is interesting too, in a dungeons and dragons genre, with barbarians, elves, orcs, hobbits, gnomes, pixies, wizards etc. There is some strong language and adult themes throughout. There are no upgrades or shop here. (The only thing I didn't like was having to go back and forth between 'restaurants', and, just to further nitpick an excellent game, I had one cinematic or cut scene to watch before I got all trophies and I couldn't find it). I also liked the celtic dance music!
I got up to Level 28 on this game and had to quit. I'd played the level so many times but couldn't progress. I had so much money, had upgraded everything, tried many different methods to beat the level, was super fast, made sure all the customers were ecstacally happy but nothing worked. I'd bought it because the demo had been promising and was sometimes challenging, but nothing I couldn't handle. The biggest flaw in a game is when the gamer is unable to reach the end of the game. This started off fun but ended up very frustrating. It's sequel however is much, much better. In the sequel there is hope!
This week I have had five time management games on the go and I think this has to be my favourite. It's so addictive but can get very challenging. I like the game play, which is mostly based on colour matching. You earn coins and play arcade games to make more money for upgrades. So there's an arcade section and also the actual game, so it's like you've got two games in one. The graphics are nice and the characters are funny. There are romance, western, horror, action and sci fi themed cinemas. The sound effects are fun too and very atmospheric.
I liked this more than the first in the series (Go Go Gourmet) even though I liked that one too. It has the exact same game style but the objects are bigger and clearer and the graphics are much better too. The storyline and characters are also very good and entertaining. It's also challenging, but fun, rather than frustrating. Ginger gets to dress up a bit more too and there are prizes everytime you get first place in each level. I really enjoyed the Cook Off at the end, which is between Ginger and the last other cook to survive the competition.
This is quite an old school one but still has lots of charm. We follow Ginger through her various training kitchens, experimenting with different cuisines. There are seven different restaurants altogether, including French, Pan Asian and Vegetarian. It's really a combination of a Hidden Object and time management game.
Your grandfather disappeared while searching for Inuits' legendary treasure. Travel to the Arctic to find your missing grandfather and solve the Inuit mystery.
This was an enjoyable atmospheric game with nice graphics and sound. I don't normally like it when the characters you meet in the story are very life like, i.e actors but these weren't too bad or annoying and there wasn't too much dialogue to slow the game down. There were quite a few HOS and I thought the scenes (not just the HOS) were interesting and very pretty.
Good game play with upgrades to buy and interesting fun characters. Lovely graphics and I like the instructors voice as she teaches, it's a nice little touch. I found it challenging on a couple of levels but there's nothing that can't be worked through with the right tactics and a bit of practice. A hidden gem.
A combination of really nice graphics, good game play and great puzzles combined with interesting and fun HOS, make this a game to remember. I dion't normally like puzzles and skip them when I can but I stayed to play these. They were pretty easy but they were also enjoyable and I never thought I'd say that about puzzles/mini games! There was a quirkiness to the game that I liked and made it stand out. The only downside is, and I'm nit picking here, you find a mirror shard on each level and you get to a point when you think, wow, there's at least six more shards to find, so that means six more levels, but then you find about six shards all at once, and then the game ends abruptly. The game is a decent length but it does seem to wrap up quickly and then end suddenly. Still a good game though.
