I enjoyed it because it's twisted. The story held my attention, monster females are expert evil-doers! Though not as many tasks to deal with some were still too illogical, like the stilts for instance. The demo presented more of the story, more characters than usual. The graphics weren't terrific, some scenes were a little on the dark side.
HOPs were extremely easy but I enjoyed the puzzles which has been happening a lot lately. Usually it's love the HOPs, not the puzzles. I thought the game moved at a good pace, the activities included some fiddling around with magic. The plot wasn't bad so I will purchase the SE verson. The CEs aren't worth a hill of beans anymore. Too little extra content, too short and these days the games are all so easy a Strategy Guide is not necessary. Still, Elephant Games is a very fine developer!
I recommend this game!

We know the game. The morphing tiles, spider webs, the jewels that drop from the board, etc. They're all there and a handful of power-ups. I'm not fond of the game because earning stars is difficult and buying anything is a very slow process.
The boards and tiles are dark and not appealing, and nothing about the gameplay has a fun feel to it for me. The graphics for Jake Everest are simple and the characters are goofy looking. Jake is a dorky kind of guy sporting a few chest hairs that don't do much for his macho image. I thought it was cute along with that big, flashy smile!
I was only able to achieve one building opportunity in the demo, no choice of piece or placement. Many others like this game style and probably have a bunch of them. I do own several myself but I always tire of them, never finishing any because, at least for me, it takes too long to accomplish the goals.
I recommend this game!

I got off to a bit of a rocky start because this game isn't the typical run of the mill. The synopsis makes it sound rather "plain" but it definitely is not. I had to stop and think right at the start. Yep, a game that utilizes your brain, instead of whipping blindly through the tasks because you've done them so often in other games. And I liked the different approach to the Plus Items.
The graphics are nice, just a little dark in some scenes, a bit hard to see where to use an item. I loved the clean uncluttered artwork and rich colors, detail stood out nicely. The collectibles were hidden just enough for a good challenge with the Luck Symbols being easiest to spot. Great visuals. characters were well rendered and spoke so naturally, the words flowed without any bad voice acting for a change.
The first HOP was unlike any others I've played, it was lots of fun. I think you'll love it. However, the scene was a little dark. The puzzles are of easy to average challenge and fun. The map is not the usual format, worked great, enjoyed the different look. Gameplay is kind of like Moontrain, so if you liked that you'll appreciate this game. You have to think your way through and that's what makes it so much fun.
My accomplishments in the demo were rewarding, I wasn't bored or burdened with umpteen menial tasks. The story is very interesting, one an adult can enjoy. Not a fairy, princess or demon in sight. This is definitely a purchase for me!
I recommend this game!

Potential buyers need to read game info carefully to avoid costly boo-boos, Big Fish isn't keen on refunds depending on the reason. This is the usual SE version of a game after the CE is introduced and it's usually released about a month later. It always has less levels, less levels and features, etc. but you get to enjoy it without the extra $$ for the bells and whistles you may not care about. Sometimes the picture may indicate an entirely different game so just be sure to check the demo. This is a cute game but earlier I wasn't interested enough to buy the CE. I picked up the SE today and it's lots of fun but it doesn't offer the 60 bonus levels, which I don't mind. There are still trophies, a variety of mini-games and cute Halloween graphics and busy boards with good challenge. I hope that this helps tjm1938 from future disappointments. It's sad when things like this happen!

Gather the snowflakes for assembling puzzles. Each snowflake opens a gift and those reveal all the decorations. The music is lovely, graphics are crystal clear. The images are a good mix with all in beautiful colors, just as Christmas should be with no weird colors, odd-ball designs or pyschodelic patterned animals. There are 6 chapters, one being a Surprise Chapter that has a time limit for remaining closed, 40 puzzles per chapter as I recall.
I'm not crazy about all the puzzles but they perfectly represent the Winter/Christmas season. A collection of photography, hand drawn art, Christmas decor, pets, outdoor scenes, etc. I think it is a nice assortment along with an heartwarming feeling along with it.
This dev has a definite eye for beauty, as we've seen in past releases, never disappointing, and knows what it takes to bring the right ingredients together for a puzzle package filled with enough features, options, sizes, beauty and variety to please just about every puzzler of holiday themes.
I recommend this game!
Visit a brand-new fantasy world where your decisions matter!

This game is a disaster, imo, in addition to being another of those old stories with new characters that Domini dishes oout on a regular basis. It is disappointing to never find adequate challenge or creative gameplay in any of their games. There are too many tasks, tedious, no logic, they never change. I don't mind tasks if not bombarded and they make some sort of sense, but Domini goes always goes way overboard.
"Battle of the Woods" is riddled with inconsistencies and its simplicity makes it terribly boring. Graphics were sharp but scenes a bit dark, voices were just a lot of bad script-reading, characters looked good, colorful costumes. HOGs rather lengthy, small HOs hard to distinguish parly because of drab colors. I did enjoy the few demo puzzles in Hard Mode, they were much more fun than the HOGs which usually is not the case for me.
The story caught my attention with the magical creatures and forest to save, but none of that materialized in the demo other than a brief appearance of a centaur. I was trapped in the demo with all the tedious tasks and progressing into the adventure was again impossible. I don't trust Domini enough anymore to blindly believe that a fun, quality game will be there. But I still keep checking the demos. Who knows? Maybe Domini will get tired of all those low star ratings and do something fun and creative again. I will think Domini fans will be pleased with anything they create, for others I think you may want to try it first.

I really was disheartened when a zipper pull broke as soon as I entered the taxi. That was not a good sign! The entire demo was nothing but tasks with a few mini games and way too easy HOPs mingled in. The graphics could have been better, colors weren't bright and festive as the scenes were on darkened streets. Only a brief encounter with a couple of characters, the voice overs were very good. I had little success in finding any of the collectibles.
By the end of the demo I made absolutely no progress into the story so I was very disappointed. I expected to see something festive or some children at least, and helpt the taxi driver spread some of that holiday spirit. That's the theme of the story after all, not all about tasks and more tasks! I'm not inspired to purchase this game, hopefully for others it turns out to be more fun than what I imagine it will be. I really found nothing to warrant more than 3 stars.

Why are the Exclusive Access games delivered at such irregular times? This game arrived at 3:30pm EST instead of 3am. Just curious!
I wasn't expecting a sale price so that was a happy find! It's hard to ignore Laruaville even if there was no sale. I can always rely on getting a load of fun, humorous quips from our ghosties and a new theme for the gameplay. I enjoy the new visitor and town to build each time and collecting the coins is always a fun challenge, Bonus games are simple but I like them. This is a great series that never is boring, to me, even though each game changes very little, other than the theme.
I recommend this game!

Birds and animals are beautiful and interesting. I would think it impossible to make them anything less, but these pictures do them no justice with drab backgrounds and basically just very poor photography. There are, again, all those posed images using "models" that look ridiculous in their make-up and costumes. The buildings are plain and the historical structures have no interesting features. I'm wondering why a skillet of fried eggs, a Navy cap, a lamp post, a grass hut were even remotely considered as puzzle material. These are very unappealing puzzles!!! The outdoor pics are boring as all get out, just gloomy, lots of desolate locations with no color value. Seriously, I doubt that a shop would be able to sell any of these puzzles from this collection. I certainly am not inspired to spend any time on any of them. And without fun features and useful options, as usual, there's no reason for me to purchase this game. Maybe you'll not be as picky as I am and will find some fun and beauty where I could not.
I don't recommend this game.

I demoed the CE, there were a couple of sound issues but the SE was okay. It's an interesting plot with traveling into the literature world and meeting familiar characters.
However, I spent too much time on tasks and not enough of the adventure was uncovered to convince me this would be a worthwhile game. The same old grind of find, fix, replace just bores me to death. Maybe the devs have simply run out of new ideas. Don't know but something needs to change.
The HOPs and puzzles were enjoyable, the demo ones were mostly easy. But that's good sometimes because it speeds it up a little. I liked the puzzles more than the HOPs for a change. According to several reviewers this is a rather short game. If true I would pass on the SE. The graphics, to me, were so-so, a little darkish, but the scenes were interesting and characters and costumes were well rendered. I love the colors and styles used in stories of olden times.
I think this game is a nice relief from all the monsters and crazies. "Dark" is not always entertaining and often generates just the same old story/new character complaint that we all have eventually and it does get boring. Today, I did finally buy the SE with the BOGO sale.
I recommend this game!
