Whoever thought up this game must have been around the corner when the creativity was passed out. It has the most unappealing graphics, sound effects, music ever! The artwork is ugly and primitive, very childish drawings that I don't even think a child would enjoy. I am just amazed that BFG approved this game! The bad games really hit an all-time low with this one. We are adults! Treat us as such and don't insult our intelligence with stuff like this.
Quality games shouldn't be so hard to come by. I'm sure there are hundreds/thousands of developers with super talent and great entertaining games, eager to get their foot in the door! Give them a break and give us a break! I feel like all we get, for far too long now, is just a slap in the face for being a loyal BFG fan.
Uninstalling it, that's it in a nutshell! What a boring, boring game but I shouldn't be surprised after 14 of the same old thing. Yes, I check the demos every time anyway, just hoping to see something new. Will the light bulb ever come on for this developer?? Shopping Clutter is in a deep rut and without change it will always receive low ratings. They are so unambitious that they don't even change the Christmas music!!
And the abundance of sun emblems don't do anything but get in the way. There are so many! Removing them annoys me to no end. The clutter is full of typical junk but this time I find myself removing men's underwear! If it was intended as something cute, it was not. It was just weird! I thought more outdoorsy stuff would be included but there were monkeys, lots of food and misc that does not fit into the camping theme.
I played against the usual animal "opponents" so my status didn't feel threatened since a battle never took place. I see no point of this even being a part of the game. In Easy Mode I progressed through 18 levels and a couple of puzzles that were small and super easy. There is no challenge in Shopping Clutter other than keeping my annoyance level down while trying to complete the demo. I don't like to abandon my trial time even with poor quality games.
There are no fun features or options with Shopping Clutter, the mechanics are always the same. The matching becomes boring and monotonous because only a couple of styles are used. Each level is unlocked as one is completed and can be skipped or replayed via the Pause Menu. You can click through the dialogue which is not important to the gameplay.
I imagine that if a camping trip with the Walkers were possible, we would be sitting around the campfire counting sun emblems instead of roasting marshmallows! Filling the campsite with equipment and whatnot is the same as decorating in the FM penguin adventures. The graphics are always very sharp and colorful, the kids will like the Walker family characters. The artwork is great for the younger set.
If you enjoy easy-breezy clutter games, there's lots to sift through and maybe you'll not be irritated with the emblems. A good way to escape from the stresses of the day with 140 no-challenge levels and 20 puzzles. I own a couple of the much earlier releases and that is quite enough, considering that nothing ever changes in the 21 games but the titles/themes.
Pixel Art will never change! It is still the same dreary game at Number 21. I continue to check out the demos to see if there's anything different and, sadly, nothing. Honestly, I don't know why this dev doesn't start working on some improvements. It's obvious by the consistent poor reviews that it is in need of some changes. In my opinion, the reviews aren't being read or the dev is just happy making a "lazy buck."
We are still required to complete the first level before we can move to the next. So aggravating! To top it off, if one or two complex images/lots of cells are included, there is absolutely no chance of completing the level within the short demo time. Purchasing is a risk since you don't get to see the entire collection. That is not fair! Level 1 always has unattractive, juvenile pics with one that is more elaborate. These are an example of what is waiting in the other levels although more of the larger images are added along the way. However, they are uninteresting and it is tedious to fill in the many, many cells because of the muddled grey variations used for each number. The colors are still dull, shading, depth, detail cannot be achieved.
I've never found the subject matter very appealing. Mostly lots of food and boring things like clocks, telephones, cup of coffee, cars, medallion, toys, a goofy something or other, a few animals. I like the large pictures of landscapes, buildings, gardens but we get very few of those. The "painting" is always blurred and very small after completed. It is disappointing that it can't be viewed in a larger size and it is whisked away in a split second to boot!
There are enough images to keep you busy for quite a long while, pixel painting takes a good amount of time because you have to pick out the cells you want to color and each is filled in individually except for the large one-color areas. Those can be done all at once by double clicking. It's a great time-saving feature. The zoom feature is extremely helpful when the cells become so numerous in the large images. And of course moving the image around on the screen is a must-have feature.
I enjoyed Pixel Art in the beginning, it was new and different, I think I own 6 or so but haven't completed any of them. I finally realized that purchasing the game without seeing the entire collection of pics was a big mistake! For me it was a waste of $$ because I'm not happy working on just any old thing simply for the sake of no-mess coloring. Visual stimulation is important. Pixel Art has its long-time fans and it does offer fun and relaxation if not picky like me. If you enjoy simple images and this style of color by numbers, it's one of very few at BFG. And with 21 games to choose from, you won't have to wait for a new one to come along.
My demo was cut to 40 minutes for some unknown reason so my review won't be very informative, I'm afraid. I enjoyed it but every minute of a demo is very important to a review. I liked Pharaoh's Garden a lot and I like Magnussoft. Their quality is usually way up there! So hopefully this new M3 is great as well.
There's plenty to keep you busy here, lots of tutorial to help. No need for all the reading if you've played the previous Pharaoh's Garden. It can be turned off, turn it back on during play if required. The Egyptian music is pleasant, not distracting. There's a little story to follow that you can click through to hasten things along.
Graphics are extremely sharp and the tiles are super colorful, with nice artwork that depicts the Egyptian theme. I was able to clear the board easily because the tiles fell away quickly without clunky movement or stalling. Large matches give you bonuses and power-ups, and must be recharged after each use. There are plenty of obstacles which add an extra challenge that I really enjoy in Match 3 games. The game starts out easy but becomes increasingly difficult, limiting the number of available matches. The board layouts and obstacles keep the boredom away and some strategy is helpful as the game progresses which I especially like.
I would imagine the mini games are the same as before. It was a fun little variety. In today's game I only got to clean the crocodile and play a nanogram. I did not like the griddler as it was very blah without colors, lots of single cells that always bug me. So I skipped it after a feeble attempt and was still rewarded as being a success.
Restoration of the oasis is slow because multiple items are required in addition to the resources, to buy upgrades. And they are pricey, but that helps to prolong the length of the game. Not so much fun if everything is easy-peasy and handed to you on a silver platter. The purchasing was a little confusing at one point, as I earned enough for tree upgrades but was unable to apply. Don't know what's going on with that. Maybe I missed a step in the process?
This is a fun Match 3 game, fine quality in mechanics, graphics, variety. I don't think it will be a short little game when you consider the mini games, restoration and challenge that are included. The 3 play modes make it fun for any skill level. I like switching around as I progress, just to keep it more interesting but I usually stick with Medium most of the time. We don't get good Match 3 games very often so I was happy to pick this up today.
I was thrilled to discover this mosaic game this morning. I own all the Wilderness Mosaic games and love them, enjoy them often. I'm glad they chose India for this one. They are not terribly challenging but I don't care, because the images are always interesting and the colors are really beautiful.
The pearl and rough tile finishes are my favorites and I love both opaque backgrounds. Only the semi-opaque was available in the other games. The custom cursor is a bit too fat, for me, mine is quicker and smoother. The game has only 2 power-ups but they do a good job. The butterfly reveals a single cell. The whale reveals a 3x3 area. I like how they accumulate as you successfully fill in the cells. A nice little feature. The unique hint feature is lovely and recharges quickly. Click the hummingbird at top of screen if you need to refer to the tutorial which is minimal with easy instructions.
Each finished picture is labeled, a good thing since I have to admit a few are hard to recognize in this new edition. Each comes with a tidbit of trivia which I really enjoy. You can enjoy your creation up close for as long as you wish and take in those lovely colors, then just click it away.
5 mistakes are allowed. The numbers of cells at top and left of grid are helpful but you have to be careful because they blend into the background colors somewhat, and it's easy to misread some of them. That is so frustrating but I just bite my lip and start over since I always want all the stars! There are up to 6 colors and not on a "wheel" which move to the next color automatically when one is completed. That's pretty standard, but you can switch to whichever you prefer. Switching back and forth helps me to fill in the image much easier, as does filling in the larger areas first.
India is so picturesque, home to many wonderful creatures. The graphics are gorgeous, the colors are delicious and I find that the rough tile finish works very nicely with animals. A whole different look. Also, the colors and finishes add a very special touch that isn't found in so many other mosaic games and the images aren't the usual cutesy ones. The grids are a nice size and sometimes I wonder how in the world will I accomplish this! But the power-ups and hints work their magic and quickly get me out of a jam.
I wasn't fond of the new slider puzzle, I've always struggled with those and I ended up skipping it after several minutes. There was one other, very simple rotating tile puzzle. The pictures in both were really pretty. There may be other varieties, but my demo was cut short due to my sleepy eyes not cooperating. I had to stop. I get my first glance at the new games at 3 a.m. here in Florida.
With 9 chapters plus a bonus chapter, 18 mini games and 134 levels, Wilderness Mosaic 5: India is sure to please a bunch of griddler lovers out there! It is pure quality, in my opinion, and I hope another is in the near future. I had to buy it and will have something lovely to start my sunshiny day.
I own some of the good quality, really cute TM games from the good old days, but now my arthritic hand prevents me from keeping up to speed, so I don't play them anymore and actually have never reviewed any. But today's Royal Roads got my attention with all of its bad reviews and I checked it out.
Instantly, I understood all the dismay! 8Floor just never seems to get it right nor do they seem to care about quality. They've read enough 1 and 2 star reviews over the years to know that their games leave a lot to be desired, yet they ignore the reviewers' comments and keep on keepin' on! As a result, we get games with no entertainment value, certainly not worth the CE price or even the SE price or coupon.
I tried the demo but lasted only a couple of levels, long enough to see that improvements are definitely in order. It was slow and frustrating. Poor mechanics and the strange looking characters are off-putting as well. Maybe a big TM enthusiast will find fun where I couldn't with my limited TM skills.
I own Magic Solitaire 1 and 2 by Magnusoft, really cute with 2 characters moving the quest along, things to collect and very simple to play, also with the variants. Delicious Solitaire is very similar but I liked the fairy theme better. I never like games and puzzles involving food, even if it's just a picture on a card. I've purchased other games from this dev, usually good quality. Don't know if today's game has collectibles, as my demo suddenly ended after just 30 minutes! But I have a feeling there are none.
Delicious Solitaire has 3 boring card fronts. 2 are actually the same, just different background colors. The 3rd is your typical font. Only 1 card back. A big ho-hum for those of us who enjoy the art and switching around as we play. Be forewarned...there is a mega amount of tutorial, WAY TOO MUCH!!! Thank goodness it can be turned off! Most solitaire lovers do not need this crazy amount of help.
There are 5 Awards to earn, each having 3 stages. You can keep track of your achievements as you play. There are 4 categories, each one contains a specific style of solitaire. 50% of the category must be completed to unlock the next one. I hate that! Good news...no Gold Cards!! There are always 5 unlocked levels at the beginning of each category. All levels can be replayed, which surprisingly I had to do with the first 2!
Everything you need to know is displayed along the top of screen and on the bottom left side, so you always are informed of your progress. One undo is available with each level. The Shop is sparse, nothing really to make the game more fun and the Bonus items didn't do much either, in my opinion. I don't need lots of bells and whistles but I always like something to make solitaire a little more interesting. It can become boring quickly and, for the beginners, those little extras are an important asset to the game.
The graphics in Delicious Solitaire are nice and sharp, very colorful, artwork is cartoonish. I'm not too fond of the cartoony style and there is so much of it these days in our games. Some of it is okay, some of it is just too cutesy, today's game is pretty simple/unappealing. I'm just glad it doesn't feature characters/cartoon families like in a lot of our other games!
My 3-Star rating is due to it being very easy and not offering at least a few frills. But I enjoy the solitaire variants, earning a few rewards and relaxing with an uncomplicated card game that doesn't aggravate me with Gold Cards and silly stories that add no entertainment value. I like Magnusoft, a longtime dev at BF, but felt this game was a little on the low end.
I experienced absolutely no glitches or tech issues, the game opened easily, no lagging. I think will be fun game for Beginners. Expert players may find that their level of experience makes the game boring and too easy to fly through all the levels. I was put off by the lack of challenge and without it I found few chances to strategize which I enjoy tremendously in Solitaire and Match 3 games.
I think the game is more okay than most Solitaires we regularly see on Big Fish. It just isn't interesting enough for my entertainment needs. The demo, though cut short, only gave me the Golf Variant but I love high/low. Check it out, but remember to turn the tutorial off asap or it will use up too much valuable trial time.
This is a great bargain at $6.99. It's overflowing with all sorts of puzzles, I would think it impossible to be bored with such a great variety. The replay value is awesome and it's wonderful for children and adults. How often do we get a truly age/family friendly game?
The problem is where to start! There is so much to choose from and I can hardly wait to dig in! We've needed something like this for too long. Lots of fun with great puzzles and quizzes and word games. I love word games! I will be keeping this game on my PC for whenever I need to break away from my usual fare. In my opinion these games are great for keeping your brain "clear and bright", I immensely enjoy mental challenge, even if it's just a jigsaw puzzle. So I feel this is definitely a super game to have in my collection.
It should last for a long, long time. If not, just start all over again! I like that Achievements are included and difficulty modes, also the variety of categories and themes keeps the interest high all the while. The demo was heaps of fun and there was no interference from tech issues. What a monster deal!
I know this game has it's fans and they love this art style, but I think it is so bad. In addition to the usual downside now it wants me to create a UNIQUE name, my initials which I always use are not acceptable. That is totally absurd!! I keep checking the demos for possible changes but no such luck. This will be the end of the line for me.
As usual each set of pictures must be completed in order to unlock the next, which is more absurdity. Again the pics are ugly and the colors are not bright and pretty, they are mostly dark and drab. The images are centered and have no backgrounds to add depth or interest, and when finished there is no wow feeling or any bit of satisfaction. The painting is quick and easy for the most part. There is a Free Paint Mode but I doubt that my imagination and my own color choices would make an improvement on anything.
The pics are ugly, juvenile, single objects except for a few but there are never any that fill in the entire area. At least that is how it has been with all the previous games. Knowing that, I have no desire to rush through set 1 only to find more of the same not-fun stuff. It is important to know up front what we are getting. I can't plunk down my $$ on something that I can't see. Who wants to shop blindfolded and find the purchase a wrong choice, which can't be returned? I sure don't!
Paint By Numbers is fine if you are crazy about painting this art style with the heavy black lines. The process is easy and relaxing and can be enjoyed by children and adults. Great for kids because the images are simple and most are pretty large with little detail. The color numbers are easy to see, filling in the areas is quick since you don't have to click each same-color area individually. There are minimal features that make the game even easier and the hint instantly recharges. The Free Paint Mode adds to the length of the game, but each level has to be finished, just like in the main game, in order to reach the next. In spite of my dislikes I'm pretty sure lots of you will have a good time with Paint By Numbers.
From the very beginning of the series the quality has never faltered. Always excellent, always brimming with challenging HOs and great puzzles, always fun tasks and activities included in the bustle of the park's agenda. If you like this sort of game, this is a wonderful one to add to your collection.
There is not much change, if any, from game to game but each one is so full of things to find, puzzles, park related activities, great features, that it is hard to just say no when a new one arrives. The graphics are beautiful and very colorful. Each scene is so busy with something going on all around, people working and playing, beautiful sights for photo ops. I love that the visitors are not cartoonish, except for a few regulars that are created. The nature surroundings are really pretty with what you would expect to see in a park setting, animals are here and there adding to the beauty and interest. Park employees are going about their daily jobs, rangers are busy keeping the park safe and mingling with people, organizing fun events.
I really love this series and the CE is always my pick because I want the extra levels and puzzles. Some gamers may find it boring and never-changing but all in all this is an excellent HOG, family/age friendly and it has great replay value. A refreshing change from the fantasy, paranormal and dark games that fill BF's inventory.
