I haven't done the bonus game yet. I love the Dark City games especially when the detective is Agatha. I highly recommend this one. Last one was better though. I figured this out in the first five minutes. No fun. No real mystery. But the characters are great. Collectables a little TOO easy to find but dont miss because unless I missed something I couldn't go back. This is a game series I love very much but because the last one was worlds better I couldn't do five stars. They can do better.
It's a lot of fun. Not too many cliche's which I totally hate. Good for all ages over 13. Loved it.
Bonus is a continuation which I think is just great too!
I waited to finish the main game before the review because a lot of times the games are great till the demo is over. Happy to say this one ...aside from being predictable as all get out with easy collectables....was great all the way through.
If we could do 4.5 stars i'd give it that.

This is a fun game. SO HAPPY not to deal with princesses and fairies. etc.... It's modern. Love it. And yeah characters remind me of Murder She Wrote kind of. I think what's happening is obvious but maybe I'm wrong. I did buy it ONLY because I have a TON of points. But I don't feel it's CE worthy at all. I suggest waiting for the SE honestly.
Graphics and voice overs are good. I really am thrilled to have a non fantasy game!!!
I wish they would do away with the 15 second hint/game thing. I know what games I hate and pass on. lol. But the do it I'm sure to make the game seem longer. Just annoys me. Luckily the games are not complicated and well explained. SO they are fun. I totally recommend this game but as I said it's not a good CE at all. They really need to work on that.

It's fine. It downloaded fine. But I did it after the issues apparently. I liked the demo so I bought the game. I wish I hadn't honestly. Not enough collectable fun for it to be CE worthy. LOTS of back and forth. Tons. And I hate HATE those stupid stars. Pick the answer that doesn't make you look like a jerk basically. It's silly and unnecessary. People don't like it. But they don't listen.
Story is fair. Not super interesting. Also I have no idea WHY this happened. No motive so far. It's lacking. Evil person. Okay but why?

I don't really recommend it for a CE honestly. But if you have the membership and points it's not bad. Otherwise wait for a sale or the SE version. Totally not worth the CE price. Story is kind of absent....Its the only word I can think of. They need to work on the collectables. But is it a good game. Sure. Just for the cash strapped you may be disappointed.

Oh I hated this story. unreal depressing and sorry spoiler alert for those who haven't played. She finds her parents bodies. ew....Just a sad sad game. Too much back and forth. Freezing but that's an issue with the system not the game. I found it tedious and boring honestly. Graphics were great. No real voice overs to talk about other than a minute or two but they were fine. Very dark and depressing. I Liked ALL the mystery trackers games...except this one.
I don't recommend this game.
A gripping tale of mystery and intrigue awaits!

I was excited to play this. I loved the first two. But wow this was pretty dull. I'm more than halfway through and I'm not sure what the point is. I'm so bored I probably won't find out. The collectables don't make it worth a CE price that's for sure. So, wait for SE version. Photos of Damian are everywhere so no challenge and there are only ten books few other morphs. Not worth it. I love the challenge of finding the collectables. There is zero challenge here.
Graphics are good. Voice overs are really good. But the story is lacking as in there really isn't one. I can deal with all the silly cliches and lack of CE's if it has a good story but this is pretty lame in my opinion. It DRAGS on...I finally got fed up when the cliche key broke......right after having to find a coin to unscrew something.
Why am I using the lighter to cut a rope when I have a knife? Lots of things like that don't make sense in this game.
Puzzles... I don't like game where it's all symbols. I think it lacks imagination on the creator's part and I skip them. There's a lot.
I can't give away the plot because it's not super clear. No spoiler alerts here. I want to like this game. I don't like writing a bad reviews. I want to love it. But I'm kicking myself for using my points to pay for this game and don't want others to do the same. I'm sure maybe others will feel differently but in my opinion it's not good enough to be a CE. Wait for it to go on sale. You aren't missing much.

Nice game but not a CE

I have this is SE. So I tried the CE because I really love collectables. Lamest collectables ever. Not a CE game. Not worth it. The game is great!! Story is great. Graphics are great. Wonderful. No wizards or monsters. Loved it. But honestly you're better off with the CE.

Graphics are great. Story is great. Collectibles are only so so. I got it on sale. I dont think it's a CE. These are wonderful games. Im going kind of backwards. I played the newest one first. My only issue with this particular game is you too many potions and recipes. You just finish one and there's another. It slows down the progress of the game and gets really frustrating. i'm on the third one and I haven't been playing that long.
Tons of HOPS. Which is great and they are not easy.
I would not recommend the entire game to a beginner. Wasn't a super fan of the puzzles. Skipped a whole lot.
Newer game is better but loved this just the same. I'm invested in the story and will play the other one as well.

I thought it was okay. But I was immediately struck by how many cliche moves they had. First thing. Broken key followed up by the frayed wires and off course no power button. Find gloves, tape and plyers. That's in this man's office??? We're supposed to believe he leaves it like this??And god forbid you brush the snow aside on his desk. No you need to "make a broom". It's silly. I hate that stuff. It's almost insulting. Graphics are fine. I did like the collectables but honestly the puzzle pieces are kind of too hard and don't look like puzzle pieces. They look like shards of glass or something. they are tiny and blend in with snow. But I like a collectables challenge. I will not be buying this. The cliche's bothered me that much. Just way way too many in the first scene alone. Many more to come.....but I think others like knowing what to do immediately. Its hard to say because I won't buy it but I do recommend if you don't really want a challenge. It was too easy and I'm not an expert.

Not a CE price worthy game

I like the fatal evidence games. However the collectables were ridiculous. Not many and zero challenge. They're right there in your face. Never had an easier time finding collectables. I did like this game but I have a few issues.
Do you want to play as a female or male...you have the option and I like that but it doesn't matter. It's one voice over and the arms etc are always male. Why bother?
Items are not used more than once and not for rational reasons. Why on earth would you use a knife only once? Why would you use a taser to stop a fan instead of the screwdriver in the inventory? A lot of those moments of why was that necessary?
The bonus game was ridiculous. You knew who did it in three seconds. Jump through hoops to find fuel to move a small lawn mower a five year old could move. I hate that so much. In the main game. you have to use a hair dryer to blow the sails of a tiny toy ship instead of just moving the thing with your finger to open the door. It makes zero sense.
But my favorite....Go back OUTSIDE to gather the things needed to escape the fire INSIDE??? WHAT?? The silliness of the bonus game made me feel I lost IQ points just by playing it.
Your husband is going to jail for murder...lets just stop to feed the squirrel and give the dog a flea bath. Can't move the scary kitten out of the way to get the item..must find her yarn or something. This is the stuff that drives me nuts in these games. The silliness and lack of actual reasonable obstacles people with brains would have an issue with. Not just this game but all of them lately.
As far as this game. Don't pay for CE. It's not worth it. Its a cute game. I recommend the entire series and i have it but all SE. I already had this in SE and I wanted to see what the CE was like. Its BOGO weekend so it's free. Big Mistake and a waste of a free game.

For 2.99 in the catch I'll take it. This is a good series!! There CE's arent very good so taking the SE is smart. I recommend.
