This is a point and click adventure game that doesn't get boring. Your main character travels back and forth in time at a haunted estate setting. The sound/music sets the tone for just the right amount of drama. The HO scenes are unique and the graphics are detailed in a style I find appealing and challenging.
This regular version was loaded with HO scenes and puzzles with unique challenges for all game play levels. The graphics and sound quality were on par with Mad Head gaming. I especially enjoyed the 'game within the game' which is the first I've seen in a standard version. I'm seriously thinking of getting the CE version just to explore what cool extras there could be to discover.
This is another chapter in the Ravenhearst saga. The story is engaging with a few twists and turns in the Ravenhearst family tree. The HO's are designed in keeping with the macabre theme and there's clever morphing objects to find. There are awesome Rube Goldberg Machine-like puzzles that bring this game up a few notches in skill level needed to complete. The designers of this game set the standard for outstanding graphics. I consider this game and series timeless.
This game is a mixed-bag of puzzles and hidden object scenes that are wonderful. Most HO scenes are similar to putting together a beautiful and intricate puzzle object which you will need to progress throughout the game. This is a long playing chapter game. I enjoyed moving between chapters and also having to return to previous scenes to complete a task. The only minor complaint is the map is not helpful in moving between areas. But that is easily overlooked with the overall game satisfaction.
This review is based upon completing the CE version and extras. The storyline is great: A wrongfully accused and executed resident in a dysfunctional town of power hungry and greedy community leaders wants revenge from the grave. But that is all this game has going for it.
Right from the opening menu I was seeing a let down in the quality I expect for a CE game. The player skill level options are limited to regular and expert modes only.
The backdrop scenes are good but not over the top graphics. The character movements and dialog are out of sync. There are plenty of HO scenes but they are mostly ho-hum single level find, and click. There are no hidden morph or special items in the HO's or scene locations.
Overall this game just lacks the extra pizazz and attention to details I've experienced in other Collector Edition games of this genre.
All the boxes are checked with this regular version of Fear for Sale: Tiny Terrors. I'm a Fear for Sale fan and this game does not disappoint. Puzzles, puzzles and more puzzles. You can customize the difficulty settings so this game is fun and challenging for all skill levels. The beautiful but deadly dolls ratchet up the suspense and creep factor.
There is a bit of time delay when switching scenes but I didn't consider it a major annoyance as some reviewers noted. The storyline is engaging and methodical. The final scene does fall a little short after the suspenseful build up to the finale.
Overall, I found this game very satisfying in most categories and I highly recommend it!
Right from the start this game keeps you engaged as you go through the 12 fears. And, you do go through 12 fears which makes this game play satisfyingly longer than most. The game's storyline developed nicely with a few twists and turns. The HO scenes are multi-stepped and provide a nice challenge. Overall, this game is a delight that does not disappoint!
Pick up a hitchhiker on a deserted road? Nooo, don't do it! But of course he does. And so begins the game of his life. Great storyline, fun puzzles and HO scenes. A few puzzles were real head scratchers-and I enjoyed the challenge. I played the standard version and I'm so impressed with this game I'm itching to play the CE version.
I played the standard version and WOW! Great graphics. I recommend it for mature players only as the murder scenes can be gruesome. Great puzzles. Your quest to find the keys unlocks each chapter in the storyline. This game is pure fun for hours.
