Okay - this doesn't have all of the bells and whistles you may have come to enjoy in other match 3's, and it may seem rather simplistic without all of those bells and whistles, but, it's not the worst game I've played. You have read in other reviews that it's hard to tell when you've cleared the board because the background IS the background, but, with my monitor, I've had no trouble distinguishing cleared tiles from uncleared tiles. The game will put a light blue background behind the game tiles and, on my monitor, it's easy to see. That may not be the case for other players. There are all kinds of power-ups and bonuses for practically everything you do and they are there from the very beginning of the game. There are bombs and special bombs and crosses that clear horizontal and vertical rows and columns, to mention a few. Storyline - so far, it's a teacher bickering with a devil of a student...lol..but, a lot of match 3's have NO story at all, and there is a story here, sort of...lol. You've read in other reviews that gameplay is slow, but, it's not, really. You make a match and can quickly make another, but, there are lots of "great job" type things that come up on the board that have to disappear before you continue, but, so what? Are you really in that much of a hurry? Can't you slow down a little and enjoy a bit of gameplay with an old-school match 3? Before you pass this game up, try it out. I do have the first game, and this one is better, believe it or not..lol. Try the demo, relax and let the game unfold at its own speed, and just have fun blowing stuff up!
This has to be the MOST beautiful game I've ever played! The rules are simple: place pieces into a picture - like a jigsaw puzzle. Each puzzle is from a different country and the puzzles represent something about the country. Russia, for example, has a puzzle that, when finished, represents cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. The pieces float in two large circles surrounding the puzzle. You can move the circles, making all of the pieces available for play. You don't have to place a piece to get a new piece and I like that. There are "hint" pieces if desired. These pieces are colored red and a small gold circle on the pieces will match up with a small gold circle on the outside edges of the picture. There are different difficulty levels so everyone, from beginner to expert, should find something to please him or her. All of that aside, I would have purchased this game even if the game itself was horrid..lol...it's just SO beautiful! The mechanics are smooth and delicate. The colors are beyond gorgeous and everything works very well - moving pieces, selecting pieces, and placing pieces are all very easy to do. The beauty of the game is what was the real winner for me. You are immersed in beautiful colors and the finished pieces are so artistic. If you like mosaic games, this is definitely a great choice - and it's so very pretty while you play.
When I saw this game offered today, I thought to myself, "Oh, great - another golf game. Ho-hum.". I decided, however, upon reading the game description, to download it and give it a go, and I'm really glad I did. It's FUN! Yes, you do play Golf - the one-up, one-down game, but, you also can play match-2 games - king with king, queen with queen, AND, you can play a 14-Sum game - you remove pairs of cards that total 14 - a king with an ace, a queen with a two, and so on. If you have a favorite of those three games, you can play ONLY it, or, like I am doing, you can choose "mixed" mode - you are given the opportunity to play all three games, and I like that. It's not just one game over and over again. There are 4 power-ups available in the game and they load during game play. I'm not certain what they do because I haven't needed one. There are also "try your luck" cards. You click on one and see what happens - I have managed to wreck my police car a few times and that slows the power-up loads or removes on entirely for a time. I've also gotten "informant" and that is a good thing - you get money/points for that. If you forget which mode you are playing, there is an arrow above the deck that will remind you. It's also useful for the Sum-14 game, in case you forget which card goes with which other card. I've only played for about an hour, but I'm really, really enjoying this one. There are wild cards, of course, and each hand starts with an undo available and you can buy more if need be. I haven't had to do that, either. There are wild cards in each hand and there are "locked" cards that need a "warrant" card to unlock. There are just all kinds of fun things in this game. If you want to play a solitaire game that gives you options, this is it. If you want a game with a good story, this is the one. The artwork is great and the game is bright and easy to see. If you're tired of the same old solitaire games, try this one! It offers so much more than most.
I have always loved the Gizmos game since the first was released, but did find the game a bit bland. Oh, the stories were fine, as were the jigsaw puzzles you get now and then, but, the gameplay itself was just so darned ordinary! I missed color, like I have in other nonogram games. Well - guess what?? Gizmos offers color! You can toggle between color and monochrome, in case you like the bland, and, another difference, you can turn off the timer. It's not exactly a timer. You don't "lose" if you take longer than the game thinks you should - you just don't get credit for beating the time, but, I like being able to choose to get rid of the time. The game is much more colorful and has more ways to interact with the game. The characters are still wonderful, and I love the storyline - a nonogram competition! Well done, developers - you made a good game great!
I was killing time tonight trying games on Big Fish that I've never tried before, and this was one of them. What a pleasant surprise this game was! You are trying to restore your kingdom to what it was before some bad stuff happened and you do that by making chains of cards in specific ways. You can do this timed or untimed, and untimed is the way I love to play this and other match-3 games, but, the timer is there if you want to use it. There are little mini-games, too, like the shell game - you have to indicate where an ace is after it's moved about rather quickly and, in another, you get a glance at a set of cards and, once the cards are hidden, you need to pick where the aces are. Even those little game are fun and, if you like them, they become available for play without playing the regular game. It's much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. The directions are good and sound effects are good - the music is a bit goopy so I turned it off, but it's the only part of this game I didn't care for. Give it try! It's fun!
I like this game very much - wish it had more colors, as I've been rather spoiled by Fantasy Mosaics and other games that offer a bit more visual appeal, but, that being said, the game is quite nice. The mechanics work well and I like the "auto remove" option so I don't waste time removing empty squares. After playing about 25 levels, I've encountered only one problem. The game is supposed to automatically mark when a square has been marked, but, there have been a few times when that hasn't happened, so pay attention and don't expect the game to work perfectly. It does, for the most part, but pay attention to whether or not the game has put that slash through the number correctly on the left of the puzzle grid. Overall - it's pretty, needs colors, nice pictures behind the puzzles, and works well.
I recommend this game!

I don't play a lot of match-3's, but they have been my genre of choice lately, and I find myself cruising the rows of games trying them out until I find one I like. First of all, the game must have a relaxed mode. I HATE a clock - but, it's in here if you like the additional challenge of time. The game needs to have great color and graphics. These, although not GREAT - are perfect for the game and very well done. The game has to have some length to it. I don't like buying a match 3, only to find I could have finished the whole game during the free demo time. This game has length. You are vacationing at Puzzle Park and, like many amusement parks, there are different areas to enjoy - like those you find at a Disney park. You move through each amusement area, solving match-3's as you go. Each are has it's own icons - for example, the western town area has badges, rifles, and cactus, and others. The railroad section has icons you would expect to see - rails, railroad-crossing signs, lanterns, and that sort of thing. Each area has it's own individual icons and they are really great! No playing an entire game with one set of stuff to match. You earn power-ups as you go and you can carry two into each level. There are the ones you expect, like bombs and dynamites, but there are also others like directional arrows that destroy pieces in certain directions - not the same old horizontal or vertical - they go all over the place. There are trophies to earn, too! I haven't finished the game, but I stopped long enough to come in here and let you all know that, although an older game, the game-play is awesome - fun, challenging (once you get through the first couple of areas - but, you expect the levels to get more challenging as you go along), so, if it seems to easy for you at the start, stick with it, because the levels do get more difficult. One thing I do really enjoy is that, along with power-ups, you can also earn icons - each icon will appear on the left side of the gameboard and, if you need one for a match, you pick it and put it where you need it. You earn these "bonuses" as you play. The only thing I don't care much for is that the power-up icons have to be moved to the bottom and off the playing field before they are available. You oftentimes need those power-ups way before their icon gets to the bottom...but, overall - it really is a lot of fun. Give it a go!
I recommend this game!

Forrest Gump Match 3 Game
Now is your chance to relive the amazing life of Forrest Gump in this exciting puzzle game: Forrest Gump Match 3!
I've never had a match 3 game make me laugh, but, this one did! The first time the football player power up guy ran across the game board, I just cracked up. The power ups are all fun - soda bottles, bombs, ping pong balls, and money - each gives you loads of points. You get medals in each level - gold, silver, or bronze and there are all kinds of trophies to get. They are pretty each to achieve, too. If you want a fancy game with lots of high-dollar graphics and that sort of thing, pass this older game up, but, if you want a game that is just plain fun and just might make you laugh - give it a go!

I saw this game and thought, "Oh, great - yet another game of Golf!". I was pleasantly surprised when I did the demo, however. Yes, it's a game of Golf - the one-up, one-down game many of us are already familiar with, but there are some rather nifty little bells and whistles I haven't seen in other games. For instance, you can buy different themes, backgrounds, and cards. You do that with money you earn with each hand. The more stars (up to three) that you win, the more money you earn. As you play, you achieve ranks, and even those ranks can be redeemed for moolah. You also are rewarded with trophies and those can be worth money, too. The game mechanics work very smoothly and it's a very pleasant game to look at, too - it's pretty - the polished woods are very nicely done. After you play a few hands, there is a wild card in every hand. You don't have to earn it - it's just there, in a random place, every hand. I always try to get the 3 stars at the end and the wild cards even come back when you retry or restart a hand! If you end a hand with 3 stars, you earn an "undo", too. So - it's a game of Golf, but with some pleasant extras that make it quite enjoyable and more fun than many others. Give it a go!
I love nonograms just about any way they are offered. My favorites tend to be those like the Fantasy Mosaics - different colors add something nice to a puzzle. The puzzles in this game are the same old thing - you play the game exactly as you would any nonogram, but the colors are handled a bit differently. In Fantasy Mosaics, you complete one color, them move on to the next. In this game, you see at once where the colors are supposed to go and you get to reason out where each color should go in each row and column. The ONLY negative comment I might have is that the different colors - specifically the red and the brown, can be a bit tricky, as the brown can look rather reddish...so I recommend you finish each of these colors out once you get to them. I love the game, and, luckily, got it on sale today. If you like nonograms, get this one!!
