I didn't think I'd care for it, but the reviews made it sound like fun, so I tried it...and, like Mikey (he likes everything), I liked it!! You start out as a little goldfish and you are lovingly overfed by your owner. You outgrow your bowl and end up in the wild, eating everything in sight, like seagulls and harbor buoys, seals and killer whales, scuba divers, kayakers, and all kinds of sea life...and not so life...like rocks and boulders..but you eat it all. The sound and music are great and there are several difficulty levels. I'm starting on "very easy" until I get a little experience with the game, so the enemies I literally run into don't do much damage. Try this silly game and I guarantee you'll laugh the first time you eat a diver and hear him holler!
I got this game on the developer's site when it was released, because I love the Fishdom games. This one doesn't disappoint. The new fish are wonderful, the backgrounds are really nice, and I love that you get money for achievements in this game. HOWEVER - the fun factor goes right out the window when you hit levels 157 through 160. The goals you are asked to reach are SO unclear! Nothing in the game tells you how to reach certain goals, and, in the levels mentioned, they oftentimes seem impossible! I finally managed, after almost two weeks of play, to get through all 250 levels. Like an Idiot, I decided to play it all again. Once again, I'm stuck on level 157 and CANNOT remember how I got through it the first time! I am praying that someone will post - somewhere - on how to get through 157-160, because I'm not alone in being really frustrated in these levels. Oh - and the fish are a little snarky in this game...lol...some get really annoyed when you visit other aquariums and will glare at you! The developers did a great job with this game, overall, but there needs to be just a little more info on how to reach certain goals. Other than that - it's a great game.
Okay - it's not a Mystery Case Files game, but it's no dud, either. To begin with, there are options for difficulty. The music is fine, but I always turn it down, so make up your own mind. The story is good - your father has passed away and you end up going to save him. I don't want to give the entire story away. The graphics are lovely, well done and clear. The voice-overs are good, clear and sensible. The hidden object scenes are of the list variety, but you also need to find a few items by silhouette that are used within the scene. Unlike many standard editions, there is a jump map that indicates where you are, where levels are completed, and where active quests are - it's very helpful, as is the hint button if you get a little stuck. I only found myself stuck a couple of times and the hint button set me right back in the right direction. If there wasn't a jump map, the back and forth would be ridiculous, but the map makes it so fast and easy. As for length, I played the game from start to finish in just under 4 hours, but I did skip a couple of puzzles - they puzzles were fine, for the most part, but I ran across a couple that are always difficult for me, but the skip button fills quickly on the casual setting, as does the hint button. I used a PCC code for the game, but would have purchased it if I hadn't had one. I was bemoaning not being able to get the collector's edition when it came out, but I'm very happy with the standard edition of the game. I don't think much was lost that really pertains to gameplay. Having a free wallpaper doesn't have anything to do with gameplay. Try the game for yourself - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised - the game moves along well and I really enjoyed it. I think you will, too.
3D Puzzle Venture takes puzzle gaming to a whole new dimension! With multiple levels of difficulty and 40 high-resolution puzzle images included, this is a game that every puzzle enthusiast is sure to enjoy!
I really enjoy this game. I'm a jigsaw nut, and was pleased to see a new one offered. I wasn't too sure about the whole 3-D thing, but I demoed it and really found it intriguing. There are 40 puzzles offered and each can be built in many different ways, depending on the number of pieces you choose - up to more than 1,000 pieces. If you don't care for the puzzles offered, or want more, you can use your own pictures or images from the internet and make them into puzzles, so there is really no limit to the number of puzzles you can enjoy with this game. You don't find that in most puzzle games. The game board itself is a little hard to get used to, but I found a puzzle I liked and started with about 200 pieces, so I could learn to use my mouse to correctly control the board. By the time I had finished the little puzzle, I wasn't having any trouble at all in moving around the board. One of my very favorite things is how big you can make the puzzle and pieces. You can zoom in and really get SO much detail in the puzzle pieces that I almost enjoy it like a hidden object game. I choose to have the image beneath the pieces. I decided on an area to build, zoom in, see what I need, then go searching for the pieces I need and it works really well for me that way, and does give it that "hidden object" feeling. There is, I admit, a drawback or two. I really, really wish there was a sort button for the edges. I'm one who likes to build the entire frame of the puzzle before beginning the rest, so I must spend some time sorting and then building the frame. There is no place to sort pieces to - or to remove some pieces to get them out of the way. Jigsaw Boom, for example, has a "box" you can put pieces into to get them out of the way. You won't find that in this game, but the game "board" itself is quite large and there is lots of room for sorting. It's just not quite as convenient as some other games. I also wish the pieces "stuck" to the board like they do in Jigsaw Boom. In Jigsaw Boom, when you find a piece, it "sticks" to the board, so you don't have to worry about the pieces wandering about or getting knocked loose while you're doing other building. This is a feature that would really make this a better game - add a sticky feature and a sorting option or two, and this would be a great game. As it is, it's a good game for someone like me who adores jigsaw puzzles and I appreciate the challenges that this game offers. If you get "sea-sick" when games move, you won't like this game at all. Also - when you complete a puzzle, you are automatically taken to a 3-D gallery where you can "hang" your completed puzzles on the wall. Try it - give the demo an honest try. Start with a small puzzle to get familiar with the best way for you to control the game and I think you might enjoy it. I know I really do.
A nifty little game - nice map that allows you to jump, very helpful hint button, decent music, not extremely challenging, but a nice way to spend about an hour and a half. The game is very short, gameplay is very linear. I'd recommend it possibly as a first hidden object game for someone new to the genre, but those who appreciate a longer game with more challenges will be disappointed in this one.
First, my overall impression of the game: the storyline was wonderful - I love games that have lovers to reunite and treasures to find and this game had both of those things. There is just enough mystery about how the characters came to be together in the first place to keep a person interested in continuing the game. It's not a sickly sweet love story. I don't care for those, but it is a love story, with hidden object scenes and puzzles to unravel on the way to helping the two main characters reunite. The graphics were fine - some a bit dark, but, overall, they were just fine. I think the developers got a bit lazy, though, when doing the hidden object scenes, as many have you finding several of one item - 4 swords, 3 scrolls, 7 rings, that kind of thing, and it occurs in several of the hidden object scenes, and it's done more than once in a hidden object scene. Many scenes had you find multiple items several times. That is probably clear as mud..lol. While going through the game, there are gold coins to find that you need to use to open treasure chests that have items within that aid in completion of the game. I read several reviews from people who thought that finding the coins in each area was difficult. I didn't find it so. Go through each scene carefully..bit by bit..and just wait until a little white hand shows up and, voila, there's a coin. I didn't think that finding the coins was difficult at all, and I appreciated that the coins actually served a purpose, instead of just being something extra to find. There is a map that lets you jump and indicates which areas have stuff to be done and it also shows you where coins are. It doesn't show specific areas - just lets you know that a coin or coins are available to find, so if you find yourself low on gold coins, you can consult the map to see areas you may have missed. The hint system worked well in and out of the hidden object scenes and filled quickly on the casual mode I played. It doesn't give stuff away - just tells you where you need to look. Between the hint system and the helpful map, I didn't get bogged down at all during the entire game. I was looking forward to the SE of this game, as I demoed the game when the CE was released. I'm glad I waited, as there is plenty to do without the little CE extras. The puzzles were cleverly done and very doable. The skip button is available if you get frustrated and it fills in a couple of minutes after you start the puzzle. The puzzle instructions were adequate. All in all, it was fun. I got three evenings of play out of it and, for me, that is adequate length. Folks who play more quickly than I will probably finish it in a couple of evenings. Give the game a try - the story is nice, the graphics are good, music and sound are good, puzzles and hidden object scenes are just challenging enough, and it's a neat love story.
I recommend this game!

Fairway Solitaire: Tee to Play
Fairway Solitaire: Tee To Play is an award-winning combination of solitaire and golf. Play sequential cards to create long drives. Long drives make better scores!
I really enjoy the Fairway golf games, and I enjoyed this "free to play" version, for the most part. I played through three courses. Game play is the same as all of the other Fairway games. The tutorial is good for those who have never played the game. The graphics were clever, the cut scenes were good, and the voice-overs were well done. The game did not give me the option to play full-screen, which was disappointing. The playing screen was adequate, but would have been more enjoyable in full-screen. I never use "real" money on free-to-play games. I did like the "golf bucks" you could use to purchase items like irons - the "wild" clubs you would come across in the regular decks in the other Fairway games. All in all, it was okay - nothing remarkable - just a nice way to kill some time playing solitaire, with a gopher that wants revenge. THAT was fun!
I love this game....the fish are wonderful, as always, and everything that makes this series such fun is present in this game. One of my favorite things about this game is the shells you collect in each hidden object scene. In many games, you collect stuff just to have stuff...the shells actually serve a purpose, as some stuff in the "store" can only be purchased using shells. I like that. However, I think it would be nice if we could purchase more shells in the store. For example, the clown triggerfish costs 40 shells...you only get 3 in each hidden object scene...do the math and it takes awhile to get that fish...would be nice if some shells could be purchased at the store instead of having to go through level after level collecting them. The hidden object scenes are fine - a bit junky, but that's the norm, and there are different scenes now and then - use a flashlight, find the item by it's shape...and scenes where you collect all the gold items in the scene, and that sure helps the pocketbook. I think the game is a real peach!
I recommend this game!

Scrabble
The fantastically fun crossword game is now specially designed for your PC or Mac!
I love this game! I love Scrabble and this game is just about perfect. I say "just about" because is has a couple of little things that are different....for example - when you play with the CPU "player", it uses proper nouns. It entered the word "Japan" on more than one occassion and allowed me the use of the word, "Roman", so there are some liberties not afforded in the table game you play at home. I got a laugh when the computer played the word "enuf"...the phonetically-correct spelling of the word "enough"...unless there is another meaning for "enuf", but I just don't care about things like that. Heck - I can use the goofy words, too..lol..and it's too much fun to worry about little things like that. The imbedded dictionary is wonderful to have and it lists all of those tricky two-letter words I can never remember. The dictionary shows the letters in your tray and can tell you if the word you want to make is valid or not. You can play solo or against the computer and I enjoy playing the computer on the "normal" setting. It seems, for the most part, like I'm playing another person. It's not too "smart" for me - you know what I mean...it seems just right for my level of ability in Scrabble. I also enjoy learning the new words..like "qurse" that the CPU uses. I don't know what it means, because I didn't look it up, but I always like learning new "q" words. I think the game is great - it's bright and colorful, very easy to navigate, easy to see the letters, and you have several options for play - and different skill levels, as well. I just don't see a darn thing wrong with it..except, perhaps, the proper noun thing..that's why the game didn't get five stars on my overall rating. The gameplay is great...try it for yourself...I think you'll like it if you can just enjoy the oddities..lol. It's fune!
I almost really enjoyed this game. I honestly cannot say why I didn't. I got bogged down several times and that may have had something to do with it. The game, overall, isn't that bad. It just wandered around a lot and I never quite knew what I was supposed to be doing. I don't want the game to lead me around by the nose, but I also don't enjoy the level of frustration I found myself at from time to time. The music was appropriate, but I always turn music down, so you'll have to judge that for yourself. The hidden object scenes were okay, but some things were very, very small and almost impossible to see. I only used the hint button three times within hidden object scenes, and only because I absolutely could not find what I was being asked to find. The hint system was a little pokey about refilling, but it wasn't too bad. It was both helpful and not helpful. When you click on the hint button when you aren't sure where to go or what to do, it will highlight all the places you can go within a scene..so you have to just choose one and hope it's right..lol...for me, it usually wasn't. If you were in a scene and had an inventory item that could be used, the hint button would show you that. The mini-games/puzzles were interesting for the most part and, when the directions weren't really clear, there was a question mark to click on for more info and there was usually some info in your journal to help with the game. Some of them were quite inovative and others were the run-of-the-mill type - swap tiles to complete an image, put numbers in order, that sort of thing. The length of play was very good. I was amazed at how much there was to do. Each time I thought I might be getting close to the end, it just kept going, and I appreciate that. I don't want a game I can finish in an evening..I got three evenings out of this game..around 6-7 hours, but I'm a slow player, and the puzzles stymied me a bit now and then. There is a skip button that fills fairly quickly. In the story, you play a girl who has to rescue her helpless brother from a fiend of a fellow who is trying to get young again. The game has you doing that in a very round-about fashion, but you get there, eventually. Try the game..it's not horrid..it's not fantastic. It's somewhere in the middle of those two..I think it will be loved by some and hated by some, but try it..if for no other reason than lots of interesting puzzles and good hidden object scenes.
