Definitely some different twists in this HER Interactive #29 Nancy Drew episode.
Pulled out my hair on not a few of the puzzles. Then again, that is what I love most. Puzzles can be infuriating to say the least. Screaming, ranting and raving has helped a few times as well as shutting down and going back later with a fresh perspective.
Nancy Drew fans are in for a treat with a storyline that includes memories and questions regarding Nancy's Mom, Kate Drew. Touching and sad at times. At the very least, the game is realistic in terms of research involving Scotland and true life events.
Gamers will have fun making cooking, dining on Scotland's culinary delights and collecting souvenirs. Playing the bag pipes and trying your hand at archery is part of progressing within the game itself, although gamers can go back and play some more to win additional awards.
If you love, love, love, Nancy Drew games and cannot get past some of the puzzles, there is a walkthrough that can be helpful for those who get stuck. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Purchased during sale and beginning of game wasn't too bad. Initially wowed by the artwork and bright colors. More for younger gamers with puzzles leaning towards adults.
You are a Guardian, needed to thwart a great evil that has invaded the fantasy dream world in which the Queen has been kidnapped. With no further plot or character development, there is a mindless series of twists and turns to pick up items here and there and place somewhere else. At least 3 sets of eyes had to be gathered and numerous keys to unlock various items.
Why is game after game in pursuit of the same and doing the same over and over? If only GrandMa Developers had branched out and utilized their imaginations, the game could have been better. Obviously, developers worked hard to create some challenging and original puzzles. Hidden object scenes were beautifully rendered as well, however, I'm not a fan of interactive items as they prolong the hidden object scenes much to my dismay.
As a veteran gamer who has played very difficult large file games, I utilized the hint and map system throughout the game as I could not figure out what went where. Too many of the same items had to be found such as shovels, etc. Would it be too much to ask to keep one item in the inventory to use over and over rather than run around looking for the same item just recently used?
Thank you, GrandMa Developers for your hard work. Hopefully, the next game is more interesting and something to give a much better review. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Settled into gameplay that turned out surprisingly good. Count Anthony has disappeared and there's a mystery to be solved. So far, so good.
Colors are rich and vibrant. Music has a somber tone appropriate to story line. Not our usual razzle dazzle game which is okay with me as it is easy on the eyes. Items have to be dragged onto the scenes rather than a simple click.
There are a few details "off" such as English accents with the characters and location in France, but no biggie.
Gamers who are open to diversity and cherish a more simplistic approach, yet, still maintaining great artwork, music, puzzles, story line will appreciate. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Big weekend sale and came across Mystery Chronicles: Betrayals of Love that I purchased 2012. Plays like an adventure game with a good amount of hidden object scenes.
If you love the older games as I do especially those created with mystery, beautifully rendered art, non-intrusive musical score, no hand-holding, this is a keeper for BFG gamers! Enjoy! Memorial Day 2015 -Mama Mia-
Purchased CE as game appeared rather good at 1st and then plummeted to an all time low as one of the few games I refuse to waste my precious time to finish.
A hodge-podge of putting items here, there everywhere to the point of total and utter boredom. Have to agree with another reviewer and cross ERS off my list. I should know by now if the game is good, it's short and even with a good beginning, the ERS long-ago reputation of gaming excellence is just that--long ago.
Would rather play older version games and games from Developers who appreciate BFG members rather than those punching out mindless dribble games. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

If you like Lord of the Rings, then you'll enjoy playing The Four Horsemen as the story line and characters somewhat resemble those in the movie.
I was totally enthralled with the excellence in all aspects of gameplay and refrain from repeating what has already been written by other excellent reviewers.
Ability to go through portals and lots of moving around, the interactive map was a most needed tool. Enjoyed hidden objects and puzzles. Lengthy gameplay took me several nights after work to finish plus bonus content. Certainly recommend the Collector's Edition. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
A true adventure game with a beautifully written dialogue between Declan--a nerdy sort of intellectual, monster-theory debunking guy suddenly meeting up with Khakisa--a beautiful, mysterious, intelligent, caring and out spoken gal. Two main characters in which all of us can relate!
Opening cut scene is interesting, lengthy, and provocative-- drawing gamers into a truly artistic journey; especially those appreciative gamers ever so weary of the same game in different packaging--the usual morphing objects and collectibles, etc. There is so much more in this game!
HOG gamers are the popular crowd and they love to descend on any Adventure game if just to tear it to pieces and dash any hope to the rest of us Adventure lovers for having more types of these games They are like bullies as there's plenty of silly games already, so, go play one of them and leave this gem to those who appreciate genius.
In reading comments where certain advice is given that game should have this or that, well, it doesn't . The Book of Emissaries is unique and enjoyable with no interactive map--whoosh and no simplistic arrow pointing hint system-bing! The information box will offer hints when gamers click on it. Not altogether difficult as it is truly clever, we are on our own to play this game and guess what--it's do-able! After a while, you will get it as it's very simplistic and is all about self-confidence, really.
Developers allow gamers to test their mettle by allowing an atmosphere into the game much felt like Declan and Khakisa who must find their way. Developers were very generous in allowing gamers a Skip option, but gamers don't need it. Don't you dare touch that skip option! :))
The game is fun, inventive, curious, unique! Like any good book or game, didn't want it to end! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Over time, the Haunted Hotel series has developed improvements and positive changes from being solely a good hidden-object with a story type of game. Eternity's Collection is the latest sequel packed with an immersive and mysterious story and a top quality hidden-object adventure game. Collectibles, morphing items, bonus gameplay and achievements put this game at the top of BFG's already expansive array of games for all ages. Detective, you have been hired to protect an important figure and immediately must put your skills to the highest test. Will you succeed? Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
The mystical Silver Arrow has been stolen from you on the eve of your wedding. Without it, you can’t marry your beloved Prince Philip! Can you track down the arrow in time?
Finished game because I'm a BFG gamer and competitive by nature. Too much running around, here, there and everywhere to pick up objects and put them down over and over.
Thank goodness for the map and hint as I got so turned around that I didn't know which way to go or what object to use. Story had a boring plot with no imagination to hold gamer's interest. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
