Rite of Passage: The Perfect Show CE and Child of the Forest were good games, however developer has somehow "lost their way" in this their latest endeavor.
Have to agree with another seasoned reviewer in terms of high quality graphics and also being very much against another "cutesy" character as well as overall boring gameplay.
I've noticed quite a few of the seasoned, respected top reviewers are no longer reviewing. Could it be their honest reviews don't receive the approval ratings as compared to the present Top Reviewers who give 5 Stars to every game? EVERY GAME CE & SE? It's just not possible. These get lots of approvals which are as predictable as the undeserved top-rated reviews.
Some of the BEST AND MORE ACCURATE REVIEWERS you might want to explore--sportygal2009, FORTUNATUS, JustTheFacts, nontechiegrannie, Nilosh. Just saying!
Now that it's June 2014, I am giving a 2nd review of this game and have added the 5th star. Why? This is quality gaming and a dying breed.
Today's games are more of just child's play--pick up sticks or ball and jacks and becoming increasingly difficult to find a game with challenge and plot and all the right stuff.
Web of Deceit was unworthy at the time of it's release to earn five stars compared to other releases during that time.
The game is excellent, however, the bar has been consistently lowered over time especially with the introduction of pay to play games.
We may not be finding too many of the truly great games any longer. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think so.
Big fan of The Secret Order sequels. Lush and vibrant artwork captivates along with gamer knowing directly where to go is a winning combination. No getting lost and wandering needlessly about.
You are playing as Sara, the daughter of a prominent member of The Secret Order derived from long ago ancient times that protects the world from evil forces. Something has gone awry and you are called upon to, again, travel back in time and set things right. There is a cute yet unobtrusive helper and we don't have to, thankfully give it a pet name. Collectibles, achievements, map, creative puzzles, etc. makes this game a welcome addition to any BFG gamer, especially collectors!
A big thanks to BFG and to the Developers who have produced this 3rd Secret Order game. I definitely appreciate your style! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
With so many fine ERS games in the past, A Wealth of Betrayal is just that as we gamers delve ever deeper into boredom with zero challenges and a confusing, far-fetched story line. The Detective is a man, yet, the narrator is clearly a woman's voice which adds to the gamer's confusion.
I would recommend to children if it weren't for a headless horseman holding a flaming head as murder and mayhem abound--yet, again-- in bold and brilliant colors. I think not.
After having purchased and enjoyed many ERS games--Puppet Show, Haunted Legends, Edgar Allen Poe and the best of ERS, Redemption Cemetery-Children's Plight and Curse of the Raven, games of late are disappointing with nothing new under the sun.
Devs, we know you can do better and have been asking for a while now for something that matches your genius.
At this rate, I will have to admit that I've outgrown BFG and no longer wish to scratch around looking for a good game. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Shtriga is actually a vampire witch from a very old, very real and very scary Albanian Legend. It's up there in notoriety with Dracula in terms of folks core beliefs.
Here we have an investigator who is hired to find a missing child. Other children are missing as well. Straight and to the point HOG with no voice overs. Graphics are quite good with a spooky story line and dreary back drop. This one is dreadful looking enough to give gamers a fright.
Overall, a good game especially if BFG members are horror fans and may have a free credit to use before it expires. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Five stars for a game that does not start off with a grisly murder scene or kidnapping theme. La Volpe--The Fox is suspected to have stolen a priceless piece of art in the magnificent city of Venice, Italy! Yay!
Even veteran gamers will have to sit still for a brief tutorial and learn some of the game's mechanics. After practically sleeping through a seemingly endless number of over-rated 5-star review games, here is something unique and maybe a bit more challenging. Another Yay!
You are a notable top journalist given the assignment of writing a story of the priceless theft and we get to fly off to enjoy beautiful Italy! Pass the bread sticks, please!
Collectibles, puzzles and morphing objects--which even I don't mind finding--bold and brilliant colors abound in this game of cat-and-mouse. This game is to be enjoyed as much as a sumptuous plate of homemade spaghetti and meatballs--my specialty!
We've finally made our way to the underworld of New York City from the Statue of Liberty to a secret underground NY tunnel system. At last, a story line far from weird mystical creatures, we journey to the even weirder world of organized crime where five heads of top Mafia families have disappeared and their deaths are not associated with the infamous Corleone crime family.
Lots of collectibles, morphing objects and puzzles--not too complicated--on Hard Mode--my only disappointment is for Developers to have allowed more challenge to gamers. Alas, we are, however, grateful for this creative and unique game although it could have been so much better! The music, I turned to low volume that adds a touch of quality.
You are not only a top journalist but also a top-notch investigator hired by Mr. Bishop, the Curator of the NY Museum of Natural History to solve the many disappearances of both the Mafia Family bosses and, sadly, younger children. What is the connection and why? That is your task, so, get busy!
Why the butterflies? Simple! They are meant to be somewhat artistic symbols of two handguns opposite one another to form a butterfly. Bone chilling, really.
You've returned from school to visit your father at his famous Jazz Pepper Club during Mardi Gras, but everyone is hypnotized. Have they heard the wrong note?
The New Orleans backdrop and jazz music were refreshingly unique in a more modern day era. The voice overs, music and singing are superior. The game could have been so much better as Developers had all the right stuff, yet, they seemed to hold back and went off into different directions.
I just could not stay interested as the puzzles were way too easy and practically completed for me as I clicked away. Developers seem to hesitate allowing gamers a genuine challenge. Which puts us right back into playing an interactive cartoon--that is now also a jazz concert-- rather than a game played and won based upon our skill as gamers. Why, oh why, cannot we have both--a good story line coupled with fun challenges?
Scenes were dark with moving shadows and I refuse to stare at a monitor to detect morphing objects along the way. This is merely camouflage to replace quality gaming.
Immediately loved the cab driver who reacted appropriately and was a safe haven for Adele--and gamers-- to retreat and get bearings. Played demo only, however, based on the map, this is going to be a very long and tedious game even without the Bonus Content.
At opening scene, our girl Adele gives pain meds to an obvious drunk in the alley. What is the point after all? Give the guy a couple aspirin for his headache and send him on his way. Thanks for the front door key!
Overall, the stereotyping put me on edge immediately and I knew this game was not for me. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Unusual for this gamer, I have played True Fear several times already and so looking forward to the sequels of which I hope there will be many. Just this one game alone keeps me hanging in there as a BFG loyal fan and member.
Talk about suspenseful--you got it. Talk about trying to peer around the corner before getting there--you got it. Talk about will gamers remember playing this game--you got it.
Well thought out is an underestimation. High solid marks all around and deservedly so.
Game was an immediate purchase! Where do we gamers go from here? Dare we ask for more like this? A big thanks to Developers and BFG for an excellent game! Yay! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
What is seriously wrong here--the rave reviews and not the game so much although it's dark, dreary, gloomy and fraught with bones, skulls, skeletons not to mention disgusting menacing rats that are not scary--just annoying. You have to admit, the game is uninteresting and certainly not CE worthy.
The artwork is very good, however, all is lost in a no story, no plot game with the usual someone getting kidnapped and another person driving to the rescue who has a crash.
While BFG possibly had to clear away the cobwebs to List this game, it's a recurring theme nightmare.
As always, play the demo and try not to purchase based on reviews as I have from the past which may disappoint. There are games aplenty on BFG--some older and way better to spend some quality gaming time. I usually try and list a really decent game in my "Current Favorite"--some newer some older for all ages! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
