Firstly, I only just clicked that this was a "Secrets of the Dark" game. Very mainstream compared to the others. A lot less emphasis on the dark and light hopping. Not sure why it copped such bad reviews - I really enjoyed it. Can't place what it was that held my interest, it just had a "different" feel about it when playing it. Had everything i'd expect in a CE game, although achievements were only very basic. Storyline was a little thin and weak - but still flowed well. The game itself was a little on the short side and the bonus chapter was also very short. This game will very quickly end up in the "forgotten about" pile of games that i have played, nothing unique or exceptional to stick in my memory. But whilst playing the game, my interest was fully drawn in. Will definitely recommend this game, but would probably lean towards the SE version due to its length.

I delayed trying this game purely due to the poor reviews. Goes to show that reviews and me aren't always parallel - I really enjoyed it. Yes, the map was not the most user friendly, but it still showed all the scenes and you could jump from place to place. The complex side of this game was the adventure side. It didn't take an easy route from one room to the next - you had to remember what was not finished in previous rooms. You had achievements to earn - although these may have been a little unrealistic. Finishing a hidden object game in 30 seconds for me was impossible. You had morphing objects to collect - i missed a few. Storyline flowed well and whilst not particularly original, still held its own. Bonus chapter followed along from main game but not essential to it. Was slightly on the short side. I'm wondering whether i played the same game as other reviewers, as I definitely give this a thumbs up. And probably lean towards the CE version as I did need the SG a couple of times.

Firstly I have to say that i am not won over with live actors. The play comes across as twitchy and the words out of sync - as they did in this game. Game was spooky but not scary. For a CE game I was disappointed that there were no achievements to earn. I do give a big tick for the hidden object games though, as they were fully interactive. Neither these nor the puzzles held much challenge. The storyline flowed well to start with, and was interesting. Then when you think you are half way through.....it just stops. End of game. Too short. And left so many unanswered questions. The bonus chapter was more of a prequel along the same calibre - but if you blink you'll miss it. Too short to even call a 'chapter'. Whilst I'd probably give this a potential thumbs up for the SE version, for the CE version I'm going to suggest spending your money elsewhere.

What can I say - I really enjoyed this game. Great graphics, cut-scenes, and voice overs. A good variety of hidden object games, and puzzles. Puzzles were on the easy side, but the adventure side of the game made this less noticeable. In fact the only part of the game that could have improved was to give it a little more challenge. Lots of extras. Achievements to earn, bonus objects to find, and added games at the end. There was also the opportunity to go back after the game and find the items that you missed - love it when you can do that. Story flowed well, and actually had a plot to it - not edge of your seat, but still enough to hold your interest. The bonus game followed on from the main story, but wasn't essential to it. Compared to the main game was slightly on the weak side. Definitely recommend this game, and give the CE version the thumbs up due the extras.

Lately i've been finding these sorts of games seem to blend into each other, so this was a pleasant surprise. Lovely cut-scenes, graphics, and voice overs. Puzzles and hidden object games weren't very challenging, but still have variety. Bonuses to collect along the way, as well as achievements to earn. One thing this game had that i really like is the extras after the game has finished. If you have missed a hidden bonus it gives you the chance to go back and collect it, then continue on with a few small puzzles as an added 'extra'. Only downside for me really was that i was not enamoured with continually choosing whether to reply politely or rudely - seemed pointless to me. Game was not creepy at all like i had expected, but flowed nicely and was one of those rare games that actually had a storyline, with only a few holes in the plot. Bonus game followed on from main story and whilst not essential to it, gave the story itself a nice rounded finish. Definitely recommend this game, and would lean towards the CE version as, although SG wasn't needed, the extras were fun.

First thing i have to say about this game, as it irritates me sooo much is sparkles. Playing on the hard setting and sparkles were still telling me active areas. This more than anything was what i deducted a star for in the rating. Too easy was a close second. There was just no challenge to it at all. Neither hint button nor SG were needed. But the game itself was enjoyable to play, and flowed smoothly. Story line was very weak, and uninteresting overall, although the sub-stories were tolerable. I recommend this game but suggest waiting for the SE version. Not worth paying for the extras.

This game was so much better than it initially sounded. Lovely graphics, cut-scenes and voice-overs. The game was perhaps a little too easy - not really any challenge to it at all. What i liked best was all the extras. Three different sets of bonus items to find as well as morphing items. Even after the game you still had bonus souvenirs to collect, and a short puzzle to complete if you wanted to look at extras such as music etc. Storyline flowed well and made sense, but was totally predictable. Bonus game wasn't essential to the story, and was more of the same. Length of game was passable. Definitely recommend the CE for all the extra things to find.

The first game took me 3 tries before it hooked me, so thought this might be the same. However, it wasn't. Flowed evenly right from the start, but didn't have the same originality or challenge the first one had. Graphics were generally good, cut-scenes were well done (if you can ignore her bouncing eyebrows when speaking, which were a bit annoying). Music varied from okay to boring. Hidden object games were done in pairs each time, with one slightly brighter than the other. They were very marginally interactive. Graphics were dull which made objects hard to see unless you had your nose on the screen. Puzzles were short and not very challenging, with some variety. You had bonus flasks to collect on the way (I missed one - sob), and a few achievements to earn (including one for no errors, which i didn't receive even though at least two lots i played had no misclicks). Story flowed well, but was somewhat weak. The first game had us wondering what was going on through most of it, where as this one was more mainstream where she comes along, performs a few simple tasks, and solves what professors and scientists couldn't. Didn't sit well with me. The game was a lot shorter than the first, but still a passable length. Bonus chapter followed on from the game, and whilst not essential to the story, tied everything off in a nice neat bow. But......despite the game having so many downfalls, for some reason i really enjoyed it. It managed to keep the same pace from start to finish, and was enjoyable to play. Definitely recommend this game, but as to SE or CE I couldn't really say. Strategy Guide wasn't really needed, and the game only had minimal extras. The bonus game wasn't long, but finished the story completely.

I was a bit unsure at the beginning of this game, but it definitely got better as it went along. Whilst the graphics weren't the 'wow factor' of the CE games, they were still well done. What i liked most about it was that it wasn't the easy-breezy games you see a lot of. You did have to think on occasion. The storyline was a bit slow near the beginning, but then started to pick up pace. And was slightly different to the usual 'plots'. Only complaint i have is that just as it totally captured my interest, it was suddenly over. I really hope there will be a sequel. I would give this 3 1/2 stars if it were a CE, but as a SE it is definitely worth all 5.

I didn't have my hopes up with this game after reading some of the reviews, so was pleasantly surprised. Gorgeous graphics, cut-scenes and voice-overs. Puzzles and hidden object games weren't particularly challenging, but the adventure side was slightly more so. Puzzles had a few more than the standard variety. Storyline flowed well, and whilst not very captivating, still had some interest. Bonus chapter flowed on from main story, but wasn't essential to it. Felt the bonus story to be slightly weak and uninteresting. The game was a passable length, and i would definitely recommend it.
