I am really enjoying this game. It is cute and simple, relaxing and fun. I am playing on untimed, of course. I have always liked the chain type match games and this one is very good. The question mark at the top left of the screen gives you all the instructions you need as the game is not very difficult to get the hang of. The eye shows you the squares that need clearing in some scenes. I like the levels where you get the detonator to go to the dynamite...just a little difference once in a while. Also, you can make BIG explosions! It is a pleasing and relaxing, albeit mindless, time waster.
What a horrible game!! The mermaid never stops yacking and the hidden object scenes are impossible. A lot of the tiny items are buried in the sand and can't possibly be found without a hint. I only played until the board in which you have to make the crab get the key at the bottom right and take it to the chest at the bottom left. He doesn't go in the same manner each time (he is supposed to move in the direction in which you make the matches) but it is impossible to get him to go right into the corner square. I finally gave up in frustration. Sorry, but this game is NOT fun and only made me mad.
This is one big game of moving the fire to the edges of the board. This is the aspect of Laureville that I can't stand, but at least then it is not in every layout. The graphics are straight cartoon and the dialogue is only read, not that the dialogue is very important in a M3 game, especially this one where the lady involved is only saying useless things anyway. You need a lot of money to fix the house, and the refurbishments are dull. To me, this game has little to offer. There are much better halloween games out there.
Why, oh why, do they need to put in so many levels with that confounded fire?? I find it frustrating and not fun to have to move along the blasted fire, which does not stay burning and will not reach each area. This game is not an improvement over the last one, which I also found unlikeable. Sorry, but it is too much the same and not at all fun.
I loved this game. It is so cute and fun. It is strictly a good old fashioned HO game and I find that so refreshing. I am tired of long drawn out stories with movie-like cut scenes and endless searching for shaped keys to unlock silly things. This has a fair amount of dialogue, but you can easily fast forward it along. There are quite a few really cute puzzles amongst the scenes and you can click on them from the map whenever you like during each chapter. I like getting to choose which site I will go to next and I also like the fact that they tell you how many objects you will need to find. The HOs are not all lists. Some give you clues to the object and some scenes have small hidden areas which you need to access by finding the trigger item. All in all, I found this to be a really nice simple game. I bought it right after finishing the demo.
When will we get a game without all the shaped locks??? I flatly refuse to buy any more games like this one, where every single thing is locked or requires a shaped symbol to get the thing open. I do like the option to choose the amounts of HOs versus mini games, but that was not enough to overcome the long boring dialogues or continuous searching for shaped items. I found it so annoying, I could not even finish the demo. I want a good old fashioned HO game!
The story line could have been fun but it quickly turned into silliness. The game play is slow and stretched out with unnecessary things that need fiddling with. There are way too many shaped locks for little items. I am so done with that in games! You have the standard fare of mundane tasks: feed the cat, scare the crows; take out nails with a fork (for which I would pay actual cash to see someone do in real life)...there is really little that is new or innovative in this game, sorry to say. The graphics are lovely but everything moves too slowly and the cursor is enormous, taking up a huge space on the screen. You can change it to a small cursor, but then you just have the really small arrow. I liked the HOs, but there aren't that many in the demo. This game is dialogue heavy and lacking play value.
I love this Match 3 game. It is a lot of fun, but I certainly hope the developers gave a cut of the returns to JK Rowling, as the story is cribbed straight out of Harry Potter. That being said, it certainly is an entertaining game. There are a lot of upgrades to buy, and aids to make the boards do-able. It's not really very hard, but the story is so cute. Normally, I don't read the dialogue in M3 games, but this one was worth it. A great way to fritter away time!

I used to like these games, but this one has the stupid fire challenge in every level. It's very frustrating at not at all fun. I think I will stick to my old games. At least they don't add any stress to an already stressful time.

I thought this might be a fun halloween M3; it looked cute BUT you keep getting interrupted a zillion times during each board. It reminds you that you can remove a square with the hammer or you can shuffle...we know...okay, once or twice is fine, but during every level during the entire demo, it kept putting these messages up and blocking your progress. Also, it kept saying things like "nice" or "fantastic" and blocking your view....so irritating! Also, the graphics aren't too swift; it's very hard to see the spiders or whatever is beneath a bomb sybol. Needs work!
