This is not a very good solitaire game. I have played so many great ones that totally out shine this one.
To start with, it is only a straight up and down solitaire, which is fine, but it is so boring. It presents one board after another, with no goals other than trying to get 3 stars. You have different awards which can be converted to cash to buy backgrounds...snore. I only played the demo, but I did not run into any blockades or stumbling blocks; you pretty much win every level. Maybe it will get more difficult on later levels, but you would have to have stamina to wade through the boring levels.
There is a wild card on every board, so you always will have a one to finish with if you get stuck, which is unlikely.
If you want a fun solitaire game, I recommend Faerie Solitaire, or Fairway Golf Solitaire.
I don't recommend this game.

Wow! This game is really very good. The story is totally new. You are sneaking around the bad guys during World War II trying to recover a powerful artifact.
Such a good premise. The graphics are amazing; just like watching a movie, and the voices are excellent!
The game has collectibles and morphing objects (I think they are only in the HO scenes, although I could be wrong about that). Really a good value and considering that today (Sunday) there is a sale, it is a total score.
The play so far has been exciting. I hope it will continue, as I am writing this after playing only the demo. The HOs are not all lists, and have some sequential ones, as well as silhouette ones. The mini games so far have been good, not too difficult, but not totally as simple as other games lately have been offering us.
I am completely enjoying this and highly recommend it.
I recommend this game!

I fear I will be in the minority here, but I did not really enjoy the demo of this game. Hidden Expeditions are my favourite, but I really disliked the way this one was written.
Every time you look at areas where there are things to do and cog wheels turn, if you click on the cog wheels to see what you are going to need phrases like "I will have to think this through" or "What can I do here?" come up. "Let's see" was the most annoying though. Since the item you needed wasn't very obvious, I found this totally irritating!
Of course, the graphics are of the blow-your-mind, spectacular kind, it is well worth it to play the demo just to look at them.
There are a lot of things to look for, almost too many. I kept forgetting to look for the morphing objects.
The story is fairly good, but I found too much dialogue. I hate getting the information on the phone. I think it just breaks up the flow of the game. You don't need that info, anyway.
I did like the one super puzzle in the demo. Very challenging!
Try it for yourself, of course, but I don't think I will be buying this one.
I recommend this game!

I thoroughly enjoyed the demo on this one. The story is new - ish, and the graphics are excellent. You have some different tools this time; the suitcase does tell you about the items you find and gives you a piece of the story. You have an energy sphere thingy, which allows animals to assist you (at least that's what it has done so far in the demo), and you have a gun that can kill the gargoyles.
The puzzles are not frustrating, I only had to skip one, so they are not totally simple, either.
I liked all the voices, and the ambient sounds. The HOs in the demo seemed to be all of the list type, which are my favourites, anyway. There are some matching challenges and I love the star charting scenario....really fun.
I think there is something for everyone in this game. Nice change.
I recommend this game!

I have loved the previous Christmas Stories, but this one is not quite as good.
The art work is, of course, stunning. It's almost worth buying simply to enjoy the Christmas art...almost.
I beta tested this, and I fail to see any improvements from the drawing board. There is an awful lot of back and forthing, the level of challenge varies widely from one task to another, some things being so simple and others too tricky (trying to find the differences in the museum pieces, for one: impossible), but the voices and story telling are extremely childish. Having to give those kittens the time of day was the hardest part...almost packed it in right there. Their voices are enough to make your brain bleed.
Each challenge takes many trips back and forth to complete. The coffee guy was especially irritating! It's an annoying mish-mash of a game, which is too bad, since a lot of folks look forward to these Christmas games.
Sorry, no sale for me.
I don't recommend this game.

Not a good M3. The cursor is clumsy and slow; half the time it moves the wrong item.
Nothing happens except one level after another. There are power ups but.....yawn.
The screen items are not very big and the symbols are easily mixed up.
There are some really good M3s out there. I wouldn't waste my time on this boring one.
I recommend Runefall.

Well, if you want to read an amusing story or a lot of asides regarding wolves and Red Riding Hood,(and there are a LOT of these in each scene) then this is the game for you. But if you want to play a Hidden Object game, forget it!
The scenes are like trying to run in sand....slow and bogged down. Each new scene takes a while to appear, and instead of just fading to black, which would be tolerable, a really big "loading" sign comes up; and I mean EVERY time.
There was no choosing of difficulty in the demo, so you are lead by the hand through each scene. Large white arrows direct you and giant eyes indicate HO scenes. You cannot click on the inventory items, rather you must click, hold and drag. Also, you cannot simply click outside the frame of anything to close it but must click on the x at the top right each time...blarrgh!
The HOs are not interactive at all and are extremely easy. I only played one puzzle and it was so easy it did not require any kind of thought.
The worst part of this game, though, is the never ending banter between Red and the other characters. The dialogue is really, really long, and while it may be mildly amusing at first, it soon morphs into the intolerable!
I think the creator just wanted to write a semi-snotty fairy tale and threw in some simple game play as an extra.
Seriously bad!
I don't recommend this game.

Wow, this is bad!! I probably would have liked it 10 years ago. The play is really stilted, moves are sluggish and the HOs and mini games are really simple.
The story could be ok, if it wasn't all written in the present tense, and if it was more complex.
The artwork is not bad but the walk around scenes are really small, as are the cursor and the magnifying glass. Then again, the HOs have huge drawings and are incredibly easy. The putting together of mosaics is annoyingly repetitive.
All in all, a serious miss!
I don't recommend this game.

Really boring and stupid! The witch that takes you through the levels uses unusual English and the game play is tiresome. I hate anything that puts back stuff you have already cleared, so when I got to the spiders returning ad nauseam I had to pack it in. You can't really tell which way the bonus things are going to shoot either.
You get to buy decorations for your yard, which is cute, but certainly not enough to make me want to play the M3 screens. There is really very little HO to this game.
Last year's Halloween game like this was much, much better.
5 stars?? I don't think so.
I don't recommend this game.

I don't get this story at all. Apparently we are to go back in time to correct our actions and change history.
Well, if I want to play with such a wildly fantastic premise, I would at least make it light, not violent and disturbing.
The first thing we are changing is the ridiculous and preventable death of a little girl, thereby alleviating the guilt suffered by the father. The father leaves her alone to play on the train tracks.....sure, why not?
While it might be a popular fantasy to change our lives, it is certainly not an avenue I would follow in a game. The story kind of leaves you with a sick feeling. And really...did we have to see the gory death of a guy driving a back hoe?
I realize there will be people who like these kinds of dark, disturbing games, but I am not one of them, so I can't, in all good conscience, recommend this game. I agree with one of the previous reviewers that trying to make a deal with death is a non-starter, although the 5 star rating is puzzling.
Sorry, but it's just not fun at all.
I don't recommend this game.
