Can they save the kingdom of Silverstar?
Storyline:
The King had an amulet and wondered what he was to do with it. He was told to put the amulet in the altar and all the riches of the temple would be his. Greedily, the King placed the amulet into the altar and was overcome by evil magic as his crown tumbled to the ground. He was told he didn't deserve the crown and the kingdom was no longer in his control. Meanwhile, your sister, Queen Mellisandra, is dying and Lucius, the Castle physician, cannot save her. The only thing that can help her is far, far away and to get there, you must go and speak to the Golden Dragon who knows where the Elixir of Life is kept hidden. So, as you look into the mirror, Lucius transports you through the portal into another strange world.
Graphics:
Amazing HD quality. Bright, excellent viewing. Even in the HOGs. I almost wanted to stop and just look around for a moment. It was truly a beautiful place you/Prncess were transported to.
Sound:
Voices were very clear and understandable. Background music didn't drive me crazy. Sound effects were great. You are advised at the beginning of the game that it is best played with the sound on. I agree. The music is stunningly beautiful.
Game Play:
You, the Princess, have now entered into a strange, new, beautiful world to search for the Golden Dragon and hope he will help you find the Elixir of Life for your sister. It's all up to you to save not only your sister, butmis the entire Kingdom of Silverstar. Are you up to the task? You are not alone, as you have rescued a talking cat named Muir, who not only gets into tight spaces you can't, but also recounts the tale of the missing King.
HOGs:
Many and quite easy to find the items. I had no problems.
Mini Games:
Unfortunately, the instructions given in the mini games are vague and you have to figure out what to do and how to do it. For instance: untangle the knots to let the cat out. Sounds easy, but do you remove the knots from the topmost down? Do you swap knots? Do they all get removed or just moved out of the way? Otherwise, a majority of the mini games I played bordered on relatively easy to mediocre.
There are 3 levels of difficulty - casual, normal and expert. You are armed with the customary journal which keeps excellent notes and clues, a transportable map (which I used and which was more handy than the hint button), a hint button that recharges fairly quickly and a tutorial you can turn off if you choose. The transportable map shows where you are, where an active quest is still open (and it will show several so keep your wits about you) and where an area has been completed.
CE Bling:
Strategy Guide (I did not use)

Cat's Room (you decorate it using the coins you collect during game play.
Collectibles - 30 Gold and 30 Silver coins. Some are more difficult than others to find.

This Glam-ma found the game to be intriguing and mysterious. After finally finding the Golden Dragon, the demo came to an end and I was horrified - "NO!" So, obviously, I immediately purchased the game so I could continue on. You ARE the game. You WANT to save your sister and find the Elixir of Life. I thoroughly enjoyed this game and can't wait to get back to it.
I highly recommend this game for everyone. Please try it - I am sure you will love it at least half as much as I do. You get an amazing 90 minutes of demo time and it's all free (the demo is)
Happy Father's Day Weekend and Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

Sometimes it can be very difficult to know what you are actually looking for in this game.
Storyline:
You grandfather has initiated you into the secret Travel League, because precious jewels are missing....and so is Isobel. Did she abscond with them? Are they somewhere else? It's your job to travel the world and find these jewels.
Graphics:
Horrible. Everything was monochromatic color-wise. There were no voice overs that I recall but a LOT of written conversation. In fact, WAY too much conversation.
Sound:
The background music is on a loop and could become annoying. I turned it way down.
Game Play:
It's your job to travel the globe to countries such as the Ukraine, Egypt, etc. to find the missing jewels. You are actually following Isobel's tracks. In each country, it appears you will look in your hotel, at a major site and underwater, because somehow you have the ability to breathe underwater. You take pictures of butterflies in each location, which gives you another hint. There is a LOT of written conversation that goes on between yourself and "Alex".
HOGs:
This game is all about HOGs. You visit a location in a particular country and search hotels, underwater, major tourist site, etc. and in each location you have to search for items. The problem is the items are incredibly tiny and hidden among a huge pile of nonsensical things. Impossible to find.
Mini Games:
I didn't come across any.
This Glam-ma refused to buy this game because the items in the HOGs are impossible to see. IMPOSSIBLE. And I had my face literally up to the screen. Also, I dislike any game where you have to earn your hints by finding things, taking pictures of butterflies, etc. It's a big issue with me.
I definitely think you should try before you buy. It's only an hour and it's free.
Happy Gaming.
I don't recommend this game.

All make for an amazing game of intrigue and mystery.
Storyline:
As a little girl, you, your brother and other children from town went into the forest to play hide and seek. A mysterious girl appeared and gave you a sheet of paper, telling you to read the rhyme instead of counting to ten. So, you did, and a strange fog rolled in and all the children disappeared. Except you.....the lone survivor. Your father disappeared trying to find your brother. Your mother just passed away after many years and you've gone back to your childhood home after the funeral.. When you check the mail, among other things, you find a note from your father.....dated just a month previously. You run into the attic and search for more letters, more clues, more SOMETHING! And you find it. You know where your dad is and how to get there. Off you go in search of your father but find only more questions, few answers and a mysterious fog that still surrounds the town where you grew up.
Graphics:
Amazing. Dark and dreary (as the game implies), however, clear enough to see everything. It seems as if it's nighttime when you begin your search.
Sound:
The sound effects were spot on. Creaking door, rattling chains, etc. Even the whine of the poor wolf you rescue.
Game Play:
Read "Storyline" above to get caught up with what's going on. You go back to your childhood home. You meet Victor Quade, a famous meteorologist who is supposedly doing some kind of research. Your father is helping him. But, HIS son disappeared all those many years ago too. What is his REAL purpose in town. Your father has disappeared again too - when SHE arrived .... the town walls crumbling and your father screaming at you that SHE had come for you and you must RUN! But, you don't. There are too many mysteries to unfold...too many questions that need answering. And YOU WILL FIND more than you bargained for.
HOGs:
Wow! Very interactive. Came across several - not two were alike. Very clear, very easy to find your items. Again, extremely interactive. There is also a morphing object you must find in each HOG scene.
Mini Games:
The ones I came across were fun, innovative, fresh and fairly new to me. I play a TON of these HOPAs and the mini games were the best, newest, most innovative and fun I've come across in a while. Some left you figuring out exactly how to complete the game but, even though you had to do some thinking, none were too difficult.
There are 4 levels of difficulty (Haze, Mist, Fog and Custom). When available, I usually choose "Custom" so I can time down the hint and skips - making it easier and faster to get back into game play. Although, for me, it wasn't necessary. I could have played the game without tweaking the skip and hint times. You also are given (once found) a journal that keeps your notes handy as well as a compass (which denotes your jumpable map - once you have found that as well). The map not only indicates where you are, where there are possible objectives to be met (could be several areas at once) but when an area is completed. YAY - gotta love that. There is also an in-game tutorial. And let's not forget the secret powers that you find and are placed on your hand to use throughout the game - like melting ice and reading a foreign language. Cool!
CE Bling: Where do I even begin - lol
Bonus Game
Strategy Guide (I didn't use it)
Soundtracks - 11
Gallery - (Hide and Seek) - 4
Storybook - 4 - locked (although I believe I came across one in game play)
Reels - 4 - locked
Cast - locked
Includes Backgrounds and Imaginings (locked)
Achievements - 9
Collectibles
Other Stuff:
Make a Magic Potion to give to the Wolf
Find all the hand-prints in the game - 43 - (one in each scene) to unlock the Hand-print Hunt.
Alchemist's Table - Unlock by completing the Collectible's Hunt.
Assemble the Hide and Seek Hand-Print mode.
Find all the Alchemical Ingredients - 43 (I didn't find any - not sure what I was looking for).
Karma - periodically throughout the game when talking to another character, you will be given a choice of how to respond. That choice will affect your "Karma", which in turn affects the outcome of the game.
If all that sounds confusing, I apologize but that's EXACTLY what I found in "Extras".
For all that is going on during game play this is an immediate buy for me. Add all the extras, and I can't race to the "BUY" icon fast enough. This Glam-ma highly recommends everyone try this game. You get an amazing 90 minutes of game time PLUS it's free. I think you will get the same "wow" factor I did when your time is up.
Happy Gaming!

This was one of the most fascinating, intriguing mystery games I've enjoyed playing the demo of in a long while. I purchased the CE version, however, due to the number of games I have my Game Manager fairly groans when I turn it on - so I haven't played the full game yet - lol. I did want to see if the SE version followed the same flow of the game as the CE - yes, it most certainly does.
Storyline:
It's the mid 1950's. The five main mafia bosses who are trying to wage a war and win control of the City have disappeared. Left behind is a green liquid. What is it? And a butterfly is left behind. Why? Now, innocent children are also starting to go missing, after having seen or drawn the same butterfly. Why the children? What is the significance of the butterfly, the green goop and the missing Mafia to the children. Mystery upon mystery upon mystery. And the questions only continue. You have been hired by a man who has awakened from a 10 year coma and gone to the museum searching for members of a secret order he belonged to only to find them gone. Why the museum? That's where the last mafia boss disappearance occurred. But why did he bring you in? Aren't the police working this case? He believes you are a good detective as well as an excellent journalist. Not only does he want you to write an amazing article about everything, but he wants to bring you into the Secret Order with him. And so off you go, sleuthing around the museum. Where will your investigating take you? Where are the children? Are they still alive? Who has really taken them? All these questions and more will be answered during the game play.
Graphics:
Amazing. great HD quality. A bit on the dark and dreary side, but considering the atmosphere I suppose that's to be expected.
Sound:
Tuned out the music - sorry. But, lip syncing throughout the demo. I LOVE IT. So many games these days stop the lip syncing after the intro to the game. Not so here and it is much appreciated.
Game Play:
As indicated in the "Storyline" above, you have been hired to not only write an article about the mob boss and innocent children disappearances, but to join a Secret Order. (See "Storyline" above).
HOGs:
Silhouette objects need to be found. Interactive - find one item, use it to gain another item, and so on and so on until you find the last item which goes into your inventory. Did not find any of them difficult.
Mini Games:
Thought provoking. I wouldn't call them easy so much as I would call them thought provoking. You need to really think about what you need to do. In one instance, the instructions were not really clear enough for me to understand HOW to do what was needed. Skip button worked fine.
There are 3 modes of difficulty - easy, normal and hard. You are equipped for a journal which takes REAL notes and keeps information that will definitely be handy. It doesn't just keep redundant and repetitive notes. There is also a task list, a hint button that recharges fairly quickly and a jumpable map. I LOVE this map. It doesn't just pop you into the next place you need to be. When you look at it, there may be 3/4 places you could go to to complete an objective. Again, thinking power. There is also a tutorial you can choose to turn off.
This is a game of mystery and intrigue. I hope you will play the demo. It's only an hour of your time and it's FREE. Then, I believe you will be just as hooked on the game as I was and want to find the answers to the this huge mystery - really, a mystery within a mystery.
Happy Gaming.

So, if it's so great, why only 3 stars? Ok, I'll get to that.
Graphics:
Background scheme was very dark in all 3 "worlds", sometimes making it very difficult to see where the ball was.
Sound:
Sound effects were conducive to a ponging ball hitting bricks, metal, etc. Background music was loud, even though I turned it down in Options, and had the same fast-paced, techno space-odyssey kind of sound to it in all the "worlds".
Game Play:
As in any brick breaking game, you have a paddle at the bottom of your screen. The goal of the game is to break all the bricks, bombs, dynamite, etc. without losing all your balls and continuing to level up. As you break the bricks you will have raining down upon you boosters that may, or may not, help you in your game play. You can also earn extra balls. There are 3 worlds - Aqua (water?), Orga (which I think was supposed to be organic or foresty) and Tekka (which I'm pretty sure was supposed to be some of techno-something background). In each world, there are 3 levels of difficulty ranging from easy to hard. Now, that wasn't too hard to understand was it?
Why I took away one star.
While reading the "help" article/book, I had never seen such a butchering of the English language in all my life. At first, I thought it was a minor typo but it went on and on and on and on. At some points, what the writer was trying to say was lost on me. Someone at the devs needs to do some editing prior to releasing their next game.
Why I took away the 2nd star.
Serious Overkill. I like reading the "help" section if there is no tutorial because, in this case, it has been a while since I've played this type of game and each game does has its own little nuances. 17 pages of instructions. 17 pages of how to play this game. I .... kid ..... you ..... not. 17 pages. Seriously? Your free demo time countdown shouldn't start until the first ball is shot so you have time to read all the instructions. And when you choose your "world", guess what? There's another page of instructions before you get to shoot your first ball. So, let's call it 18 pages.
Why I almost took away another star:
I was feeling generous or I might have. After you complete the level and before you go on to the next level, you get a notice saying what your score is, bonus score and "1 ball left = 500 points". I had 4 balls. Why did I only get credit for having 1? And then, at Level 8 I noticed I was getting credit for the extra balls (3 in my case). I really didn't understand this - not that I play for points anyway - perhaps it could have been explained in an additional page 19 of instructions.
This really was a fun and way fast-paced game. I played on "easy" because it has been some time since I've played this type of game. And if the madness I enjoyed on "easy" is any indication, experts will love the challenge the hardest difficulty setting will provide. Please try it yourself. It's an hour free trial. I think you will enjoy.
Happy Gaming.
I recommend this game!

Wow! And I thought I had seen it all in Match 3 (M3) games. Where has this little gem been hiding?
There is no storyline - so we can bypass that altogether.
Graphics:
Amazing, bright, cheerful colors of the rainbow. Circles, squares and diamonds of 3 sizes.
Sound:
Sound effects great - not goofy or annoying. Just seemed "right" for the game. Background music very nice - didn't need to tune it out or turn it off at all. LOVE that.
Game Play:
A M3 like no other. You have to move 3 different size colored balls, squares, diamonds into each other (horizontally, vertically or adjacently) to form one big ball, square or diamond and then - magic - not only does that ball, square or diamond disappear but so do surrounding ones of the same color. There IS NO 3 or more - it's just 3. Move the tiny into the middle one into the large one and good-bye it goes. You can also move medium to small, or medium to large and then to small, but the premise is to ultimately join a small, medium and large colored (same color) diamond, circle or triangle together.
This game was tremendous fun and I thoroughly enjoyed playing it. I hope you will at least try the free demo. It was over before I realized an hour had gone by. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Happy Gaming!

This is definitely a totally different match 3 (M3) game than I am used to. I had a lot of difficulty playing on Classic Mode. It is more of a strategy game than a match game, although you do have to match 3 or more of the same colored blocks. It levels up quickly and gets harder and harder quickly too. Would only recommend this for those who are good at strategy games or have an extreme level of patience.
There are four difficulty modes of play. The background is a gorgeous Mayan scene. In Classic mode, you complete every level (it's really hard). In Time Trial mode, you try to keep up with the time, Challenge mode is extremely difficult and in Marathon mode, you just keep playing until you can't anymore.
This was an extremely difficult game for me because I'm not good at strategy type games. However, I believe everyone should give this game a chance. It's a free demo - just because it's not for me doesn't mean you won't love it.
Happy Gaming.

Actually, you ARE Ms. Florence Ashford. This is a sweet, feminine HOG game. Not meant to dark, dreary and have an unpleasant scenario. A great storyline, beautifully drawn pictures, repetitive but calming background music and the lovely Ms. Ashford.
Storyline:
Florence Ashford's family has become destitute. They have sold all their gold and silver but it was not enough. So, off they send Florence/you to stay with her future husband - whom she has never meant but is pinning all her hopes upon to save her family. Until she finds the truth. Someone has left her a message - a secret message - and after some sleuthing, she discovers her family has been duped. Her fiancee has NOT inherited the bounty of his deceased father's riches. At least not until he has a son. Now, Florence/you must search the house of her fiancee for a little of this and a little of that until she discovers who is the one leaving her secretive messages that are impacting not only her future but that of her family.
This Glam-ma thinks this is a truly lovely game. A nice diversion from the gore and evil monsters and witches, Please give this little gem of a game a chance and play the free trial. It's only an hour and it's free.

Quite the little relaxing and fun match 3 (M3) game I've played in some time.
Storyline:
You are Jane and you have been sent on an African Safari to find a rare white lion. But, never fear, Jane/you has 4 animal friends along to give her help. Chippy the Ape, Leo the Lion, Heppo the Hippo and Stripy the Zebra. The hunt for the white lion is harder than they thought it would be but you have a secret weapon. In this match 3, you can change game modes from swap to match to group. And there are a LOT of puzzles to get through - 100 in all!
Graphics:
Usual fare. Colors easily recognizable. Grass is green, etc. etc.
Sound:
Sound effects are fun. Background music is annoyingly electric guitar sounding and I had to turn it off.
Game Play:
You guessed it! This is a M3 of the highest order. First, you have your 4 animal friend helpers (see Storyline above) but I never did figure out exactly what their powers/bonuses were. In order to activate them, each animal friend is shown on the M3 board and you have to get them to reach the bottom while matching, swapping or grouping jewels of 3 or more. And, it's definitely not as easy as it sounds. Because, while doing that you have also got to remove all the "grass" tiles and the number of each jewel shown above the game board. Is that keeping you busy enough? And, you get to do all this through all 100 levels of fun.
I really enjoyed this little game and I am quite picky when it comes to M3 games. I have quite a few on my Game Manager and will most likely add this to my wish list.
I highly recommend this for anyone who wants a bit of relaxing fun. Try the free demo. It's only an hour and it's free.
Happy Gaming.

First of all, let me stress this very clearly - this is a strategy game. No matter how you play it, how you want to view it, it is a strategy game. And, guess what? I am NO GOOD at strategy games - lol.
Storyline:
None.
Graphics:
Uh, okay I guess. It's like a hexagonal chess board with blue and green pieces. I believe as the levels escalate (there are 36) more colors are added.
Sound:
Background music became slightly annoying since I was trying to focus on what I was trying to do.
Game Play:
Took me a while - but I finally got it. Then, when I got it, I very quickly became bored with it. It is actually a very basic game. There are a line of knights at the left end of the board and a group of brown castles in the middle of the board and a line of white castles on the right side of the board. Now, using all blue or all green hexagonal pieces, get a knight from his station all the way to a white castle and stopping, if necessary, at a brown castle in the middle. The hexagonal pieces are in various shapes and sizes and you only have "x" number of each. Once all the knights have reached a white castle or all the hexagonal pieces are gone - level over.
Again, this is not my type of game and once I figured it out I became very bored with it. That's not to say you will too. So, please take the hour of power (lol) and try this game. If you like chess, I think you'll like this game. Seriously, it's all about the strategy.
Happy Gaming.
