Storyline: There was an adventure level....which usually HAS a story....but I just didn't see it, hear it or get any idea there was a story.
Graphics: Pretty good. I mean, you have pegs, you have a ball, when you hit it, it lights up. Period.
Sound: The backgound music was tedious. The sound effects what you'd expect in an arcade game.
Game Play: Again, you have a screen full of pegs. Some are green - they do special things. Some are purple - they do special things. But, the important ones are the orange ones - THOSE you have to destroy with 10 balls. Oh, and then sometimes there are orange pegs AND orange bricks you have to destroy.
For the 25 minutes I played this game, I was bored. I passed most of the levels I played with one try. If I had to replay a level (no way to opt out and continue), it soon became tedious and boring. The BIGGEST problem I found with this game is that as you leveled up, there was an increase of the number of pegs on the board, as well as the number of ORANGE pegs on the board - but no extra balls. AND, you don't get credit for say, leaving one peg behind. It's an all or nothing game.
This Glam-ma thinks this is more a game of chance than strategy. I didn't care for it and won't purchase it. That doesn't mean you won't LOVE it. So, Glam-ma says please do try the demo. It's free and you only lose an hour or less if you try it.
The review of this game is based on this Glam-ma's opinion - and only mine. Therefore, if you found this review to be helpful, please click on the "yes" button below. There is also a "no" button. Seriously? You'd give your Glam-ma a "no"? Kidding.
Yep, that's about it - all you do. Is there some kind of progression to the game? Levels? Other areas in the Pond? Not that I could tell and none that I could tell was indicated. No tutorial to help out. No help page. Just nothing. Worse game ever.
Storyline: Boy frog (you - so give your BOY frog an appropriate boyish name) sees girl frog across the room and asks her out. Girl frog is a rather snobbish Princess who looks down her froggy nose at the boy frog (you) and says only the frog who brings the most coins to the Flower Festival deserves her little snobby froggy hand. So, off you go to collect coins.
Graphics: Okay. Nothing to write home about (so to speak). Colors appropriate to the bugs. It took me a while to differentiate the yellow flying bugs from the bees (don't eat the bees or your tongue will swell) until some bees actually showed up. Now that I knew those little yellow buggys were good to eat, I was good to go.
Sound: Background music ok. Had to keep it turned down because new baby puppy I rescued was laying on my arm sleeping. But, it sounded good. Sound effects for bugs getting eaten was like a "plop" noise.
Game Play: Now, herein lies MY confusion. Perhaps, and I hope, you will gain more information on how to proceed throughout the course of the game. Because I can't believe this is it. There is an older frog in the pond who challenges you 3x to a bug eating contest. Every time you win, you accept the next challenge, etc. etc. BUT, what happens when the yellow bugs and the red butterflies are all gone and the 3x challenge is over? No direction. Nothing. Just click on start and keep eating the bugs and butterflies? Huh? Gotta be more to the game than that. But where? How do I find it? I got so frustrated I just quit playing because I already knew this game was not for me.
Just because this Glam-ma didn't like the game doesn't mean you won't. I would say go ahead and play the demo. It's free and you can quit whenever you want to and say - nope, not for me, or Hurray! I figured it out! You only have an hour to lose. Go ahead.. Glam-ma says play.

I have played many ball/marble shooter type games before. Am pretty good at them but never really liked them until I discovered the Luxor series. I played through all the games in the series and picked several as "keepers" and purchased them. THIS ONE gets added to my list of great games to own.
Storyline: None that I can recall.
Graphics: Amazing colors and bombs and Ankhs and jewels and golden rings and everything was just spot on beautiful.
Sound: Rescued a teesy baby puppy last week and she was asleep on the pillow by my arm so turned it down low but I like the background music - didn't find it repetitious and it didn't get on my nerves - major big plus. Other than that......sound effects! Oh my gosh - YES! Bombs exploding everywhere and you heard everything. Even all the bonuses as they got dropped - magnificent.
Game Play: Typical of most marble/ball shooter games and definitely the norm for Luxor games......you get a ball at the bottom of your screen. Your goal is to get matches of 3 or more balls of the same color and destroy everything on your screen. You will gain bonuses and collect gems and Ankhs. For every 50 (I think) Ankhs you collect you get a free extra life. My only confusion was the Bonus Game at the end of the level. No instructions on how to play. Not even in the instruction page. I just kept shooting and balls were disappearing and ultimately I shot them all off the page. Voila! Bonus Level completed. This Area is FINISHED! YAY!
This Glam-ma has NEVER experienced such a "WOW" factor in this type of game before - not even my beloved Luxor games. But this game? When the demo ended, I was like "NO! NOT YET! I HAVE TO HAVE THIS GAME!" Unfortunately, I have to wait a few days for bonus punch Monday. I girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do, right?
This Glam-ma says play, play, play this game. I'm sure you will enjoy it at least half as much as I did. It's free and all you have to lose is an hour.
The review of this game is based on this Glam-ma's unbiased opinion - and only mine. Therefore, if you found this review to be helpful, please click on the "yes" button below. There is also a "no" button. Seriously? You'd give your Glam-ma a "no"? Kidding.
Storyline: Pretty typical. Elven village has a bookshop. Wicked Witch destroys bookshop because she doesn't want a special Good Book of Potions to be found and bought. But, the book isn't even in the store because the Eagle-Owl had already taken it away in hiding. I'm not really sure what MY role in the whole bit is at all.
Graphics: Okay. Pretty hand painted as I suppose elves and magic books and wicked witches should be.
Sound: Don't know - have a new baby puppy I rescued and she was asleep on my arm so I had volume all the way down. Sorry.
Game Play: You can either play "Play", which takes you through the story and adventure. In this "Play" mode you have to play Mahjong by matching the icons, etc. on the magic books as well as "save" the elves coming through the door with their orders (icons you also need to match which aren't always readily available). All while being timed. It's hard. I either got all the books but didn't save enough elves or saved the elves but had books left. After a few levels of this, I went to the other mode - "Free Play". Well, the joke was on me because I guess ain't nothin' in life for free. Here I was expecting a more relaxed untimed play. Well, lo and behold, I timed out. I couldn't believe it. What's the point of having 2 different modes of difficulty/play if you're being timed in each one?
This Glam-ma wanted to like this game - wanted it a LOT. I mean, elves! Magic Books! A halfway decent storyline. But, seriously? Being timed isn't very relaxing to me and I want a Mahjong game that's relaxing.
So, while I wasn't happy with it that doesn't mean you won't be, so please do try the demo - all you lose is an hour - and maybe your mind because you can't pass all the timed levels. LOL.

Didn't expect to like this game as much as I did and now can't wait to purchase it!
Storyline: Stephen Black made a pact with Death (a woman) when his beloved wife and young son died of a horrible illness, vowing he would do anything to bring her back - and anything is what he did. You are Amelie, a young tourist in Paris who has been asked by this renowned artist to paint your portrait. You are aghast, shocked, and delighted that you would be so honored. But, is this really an honor or a nightmare?
Graphics: Although a bit flat at times, the colors are magnificent - vibrant - beautiful. The devs captured Black's eyes as intense and fierce and even eerily life-like. The paintings and other portraits are beautiful even as they are ghostly.
Sounds: Background music was done well. Quiet and eerie when appropriate and rising to that dramatic crescendo when something is about to happen. No lip-syncing that I recall. But the sound effects were spot on - creaking boards or was that a door? Windy draft or ghostly moan?
Game Play: Black has already painted 8 portraits of women - has Death collected their souls? Can they be saved? Can you, Amelie, even be saved? After your portrait is finished, you are transported to the drab and cheerless Black castle. Your only hope of escaping imprisonment forever is to find 15 pieces of your own portrait. But, you are a kind person, and so you begin a path not just to save yourself, but to save the other women as well.
HOGs: Didn't have a problem with any of these. Your usual itemized word list or find the item by picture shown.
Mini Games: I found these on a varied spectrum from easy to going crazy trying to figure out how to solve any particular puzzle. One major problem I had, which I have never seen before, is that there was no reset button (that I could tell). So, solve it or skip it?
There are 3 difficulty settings. A jumpable map but doesn't show you much of anything - not where an active area is, not where an area is finished. THIS MAP requires brain power - the kind of map I like. Try to remember where you were, what item you now have to use and go there. If you went to the wrong place, try again. There is a hint button, in the form of a cherubic angel who takes a nap while recharging then giggles quite cutely (I thought) when he/she wakes up. The hint button does recharge fairly quickly. There is also a journal for your notes and a task list you can refer to.
CE Bling: I apologize. I have been sick and didn't take as many notes as I normally do to fill this in. But, here goes..... Strategy Guide Bonus Game Play Achievements Concept Art Wallpaper Musical Tracks - sorry, I don't remember - bad me. Collectibles: 15 pieces of your/Amelie's picture to save yourself. 8 souls of previously painted female portraits 30 rosary beads Morphing Objects - don't know how many. I think that about covers it.
This was a most intriguing game. I WANT to find out the ending. I'm not necessarily sure Death is the culprit - or the only one. The answer lies in the game. I got my necessary "WOW" factor after the demo which is my indicator of whether to purchase a game or not. When I say "NO", or "Are you kidding me?" when a demo ends. I need to purchase the game. Plain and simple.
This Glam-ma highly recommends you at least try the demo - all you have to lose is a little bit of time. I think you will thoroughly enjoy this game.

Clueless
Help Cher make sure that her friends are the most fashion forward in Beverly Hills.
Storyline: Cher and the rest of the Clueless girls want to prove that they are the Queens of fashion. Whether Beverly Hills chic, LA grunge or beachwear babe they have totally got it together to keep their boys infatuated.
Graphics: Good colors, bright, cheerful background.
Sound: Have a new puppy sleeping on my arm so turned the volume down - sorry.
Game Play: Well, it's up to you to make sure the girls are dressed to impress. You get a choice of tops, bottoms, shoes, boots, swimwear, etc. to dress your girls in either Beverly Hills Chic, LA Grunge or Beachwear Babe. The better you follow the instructions of how to choose what to wear for each look and what each boyfriend likes, the better you are graded on top, bottoms, shoes, and overall look. The further into the game, the more clothes you unlock.
This Glam-ma actually enjoyed the game with her 7-year old granddaughter and would recommend it for the whole family. Little girls and tweens would have the best time with it I think. So, Glam-ma says please try the demo. It's fun to be able to play "dress up" against the clock and get graded to see how knowledgeable in fashion you are.

I am sorry to say that I have not played any of the previous Phenomenon games and noticed immediately that it put me at a disadvantage. There isn't enough of a background given at the beginning of the story that really enables you to understand everything they are talking about. So, after playing the CE demo and purchasing it, I went ahead and purchased the other games in this series.
Storyline: From what I could gather, as a young child your parents were struck down by a strange lightning bolt after you found a glowing homunculus - how would you even know what that is at the age of 4? I'm, well never mind how old I am, I didn't even know what it is and I'm pretty well-read. Anyway, you are now an adult and have a nightmare (of course you do) and wake up to find said homunculus clenched in your hand glowing. Somehow you know to place it on a map and, voila, it leads you "here".
Graphics: The graphics are stunning, the colors majestically bright and colorful. I wanted to stop just to "smell the roses" so to speak. Sometimes, an area was just so pretty ... I needed a moment to take in everything.
Sound: The voiceovers (yay - lips that move) are spot on, including the movement of the facial features, although the adult "you" doesn't sound quite believable. You/Sasha are directed by a young man who has given you instructions regarding where you need to go. I think I'd be better versed if I had played the previous game There is a discussion between you and the young man regarding the Cyan Plasma, etc. and I was lost. Background music was enjoyable - it hit it's peak at the "here it comes, sit on the edge of your seat" crescendo. But, later on, I realized it was a repetitive loop and got annoying so I turned the volume way down.
Game Play: There isn't a lot to add in Game Play that isn't in "Storyline" above. You are on a hunt to get to the "Safe Place" by traversing several other areas where you need to activate and re-activate your neutralizer. There was just a lot going on in every area you went to. Best I can do. Sorry.
HOGs: Wonderful! Although not totally monochromatic in color, the items DID blend into the scenery. For instance, the feather that was blended into the greenery of the tree - green feather. Also a game within a game, as you went through a portal in the HOG to access ANOTHER HOG. Brilliant!
Mini Games: The few I came across were new, fresh, innovative and totally fun! I usually skip the mini games to get back into game play but these I just couldn't resist because they were so much fun!
There are 3 difficulties of play - Casual, Expert and Hardcore. You get a scroll that glows when a new note is input, a task list, and a hint button, which recharges at a fairly good pace. I don't know if the hint button transports you to the area you need to go to because I preferred to use the map. So saying, there is a transportable map that shows where you are, where there is an available action to be done and where you need to come back later. What I absolutely LOVE about this map is that it doesn't hold your hand as so many games today do - you are required to use your brain. For instance, you will amass quite the collection of inventory and when you look at your map there may be 3/4 areas you can go to that have available actions - you have to remember where you were, look at what you have in your inventory, and find where you need to be - pick a place and you will be transported there. Wrong place? Try again. You will NOT be immediately transported to the next area that needs something done - YAY THANK YOU DEVELOPERS. I believe this makes the game more interesting than a map that just takes you everywhere you need to go and then the hint button shows you what you need to do - that type of game just plays itself - HATE it.
I am disappointed that I didn't have a good grasp on the storyline and probably won't quite get it until I play at least Phenomenon Cyan. So, I don't think it's quite a standalone game. Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed playing this demo. It is mysterious, intriguing and had me from the beginning.
This Glam-ma says please do try it - I think you will truly enjoy this new and innovative game. The developers really came through with new ideas to keep us entertained. And you get a 90 minutes instead of 60 to play. This Glam-ma recommends this game for everyone.

I generally don't like ball shooter type games. I've played them. I'm fairly good at them but I generally don't like the. Having said that - I WANT this game!
Storyline: In the forest lived a valley of dwarves. They lived in peace, tranquility and harmony. One day, an evil wizard entered into the valley of the dwarves. The evil wizard wanted possession of ALL the forest and then, woe is me..... the evil wizard trapped ALL the little dwarves. One brave dward was able to escape the evil wizard's castle tower and found you. Now, it's up to you to save all the rest of the little dwarves in the evil wizard's castle and make life harmonious and happy again.
Graphics: Not too bad - not great. The introduction was worse than cartoonish and obviously hand drawn, but that's ok, didn't bother me. It's kind of a cheesy game anyway, right? What DID bother me was as you gained into the upper levels a new color would appear - and there were 2 colors that were sooooooo similar (my old eyes here) that it was very hard to discern which ball to throw where - it could be extremely helpful if the right color. Extremely hurtful if not. Was this done on purpose, perhaps, to make the game THAT much harder?
Sound: I apologize but I can't comment here. I just rescued a little bitty 6 week old puppy and she was asleep near my laptop so all volume was off. I would imagine, however, that as you destroyed massive walls of colored balls there were the appropriate explosions, etc.
Game Play: Ah, how to explain? At the bottom of your screen is a colored ball, falling from the top of the screen is a wall of different colored balls. Your job? To destroy as man balls as possible before the wall comes crashing down too low. There are bonus "balls" that you can catch as they fall when explosions happen and balls and bonuses and coins and dwarves are falling from the sky. Never figured out what the coins were for so I concentrated on catching the good bonuses - there are BAD bonuses as well.
There is only 1 mode of difficulty. Adventure. There is a row of balls on the left side of screen which shows which color is next but no way to change colors of what is in your shooter (such as right click). There is no tutuorial, per se, however there is a "how to play" section. I would recommend reading it before game play.
Is it a short game or a long game? Will it take some time to complete? Well, isn't time relevant to each individual game player? There are 30 levels. Only 30? Yes, only 30. I was able to pass 1/2 of the levels during the free hour demo. And, that was including the levels I had to repeat twice as the levels got higher and harder. So, I would venture to say it's probably a good afternoon/day's worth of game play - depending on your skill.
For not having any bells and whistles or the regular hoo-haas of your average shooter games, this Glam-ma totally enjoyed it. In fact, I got that "wow" factor I look for in games - when the demo is over and I go "what?" "Now?" "NOOO!" That's MY purchase indicator. This game is definitely going on my wish list. It was fun, it was relaxing.
This Glam-ma highly recommends you try the free demo. I hope you will overlook the "only 30" levels and focus on the fun. I think you will enjoy. I would recommend this for all levels of game players.

Please pardon any typos - my eyes are giving me a lot of trouble today.
Well, I had to go back and re-read my CE review several times and each time I read it, I remembered all the reasons I disliked the CE version of the game. But, since it was 90 minutes of free play, I thought I'd give the SE a chance and see what it's all about - and I am very glad I did.
Storyline: You have helped Princess before. It's been 5 years and you receive another plea of help from her. She was finally reunited with her mother - after 5 very long years for a young girl to endure. Just as they hug, her mother is yanked out of her grasp by trees. Where did she go? What is happening? What happened to Princess' magic that she can't do this on her own? Play the game to get all those answers and more.
Graphics: Beautiful. Astonishing colors of ice, caves, freed souls and more. Just beautiful.
Sound: Sorry. Just got a new little puppy and she was sleeping near me so I kept the volume turned way down.
Game Play: Princess has asked you again to help find her mother so off you go to be the gallant Prince on a White Horses saving the Damsel in Distress (it's an analogy). There is quite a bit of everything going on in just the free demo. Stone statues coming to life, willow-o-wisps being captured to relegate a story to you, Souls being freed, and more and more and more.
HOGs: Your typical list with some interactive items to find. Not difficult to find anything. No miasma of items. No monochromatic color that blends everything together. No tiny items you can barely see. HOGs were fun. Boring at times but fun.
Mini Games: I enjoyed all the mini games and was glad of the extra 30 minutes Game Play so I didn't have to rush through and possibly skip to get back into the game play. Some took time to think things through. I did skip on one. You can figure that one for yourself. HAH!
I still wonder at the length of the game because I completed the SE demo with 27 minutes to spare. That's a lot of time and it does make me wary. I also did not find as much hand holding in the SE version as I did the CE version. Go figure - same game right? The CE version seemed to play rapidly, almost at a dizzying pace; while the SE version seemed to progress at a more reasonable pace.
This Glam-ma thinks you will totally enjoy this game and highly recommends you play the SE demo, even if you have already played the CE demo. I don't know why, but there is a difference of the fluidity of the game from one to the other. I MUCH prefer the SE to the point that it is definitely going on my wish list. I hope you enjoy this SE version as much as I did.

I usually HATE ring games when playing them in an HOG. But, this game had me at the first level.
Storyline: None
Graphics: Great. Very easy to distinguish colors from each other and nothing blinding to the eyes.
Sound: Music so relaxing and soothing. Just wonderful.
Game Play: The object of the game is to get matches of 3 or more colored rings, fill up your leader board and finish the level. You earn various bombs for getting 4, 5, or 6 of the same colors together. And there are so many ways to make the match 3 or more that I was up to Level 8 in no time. There is a "dark board" that is insinuated to be difficult to destroy but I had no problems. My problems were the vines that would wrap around a ring and then that entire section of rings could not move.
There are several modes of play: Relaxed, Arcade, Adventure and something similar to Quick Time. There is a hint button but each time you use it you lose "time" on your leader board resulting in needing more matches to finish. There is an ongoing tutorial which I liked. When something new was going to happen, you were "warned" beforehand.
This Glam-ma fell in love with this game immediately. I played relaxed mode and it was, very relaxing. The only reason I will not purchase it, and it makes me very sad, because otherwise I would still be playing it, is your game is not saved when you quit. I tried several times and each time I had to start at Level 1 - the pits. HAH - level 1 - the pits - I slay me. LOL. Seriously, this Glam-ma found that to be a serious defect in the game and if the devs have a sequel perhaps that's an issue that can be fixed. Unless I was doing something wrong and the, that's up to you to figure out.
Although this Glam-ma is disappointed she won't be purchasing the game, I HIGHLY recommend you try the free demo. If you like the ring game in hidden object games you will absolutely love this game.
