As a player who reads and considers others' reviews, I was hesitant to try this game as it sounded like something best to avoid. But having played other games from these devs I tried it....Am I glad I did! The graphics are clear, colorful and appropriate to the theme. The VO's are appropriate and there's even a custom mode for adjusting game specifics. What more could there be? Well, clear objects in the HO's, a match 3 if the HO gets too frustrating, and hints that quickly recharge. The story? Well, it's a bit of twisted Greek mythology but imaginative and interesting enough to make me want to see how they reach the outcome. While there's no morphing objects or cute sidekicks, there are achievements and collectables and an optional tutorial #full or partial#. But for those looking for ultra glitz and current gimmicks and trends, this may prove too tame. But give it a try. You may be drawn in and end up a hero of Greece!
In this latest installment of Imperial Island, accompany Emperor Omadan on an exciting journey through uncharted lands in search of his son - Prince Caleb.
I've played lots of match 3's in recent years andmany are outstanding. This one, however, is exceptional. The colors are clear, bright and the objects clearly visible on the background tiles. The cursor moves smoothly and reacts well. Bonuses are partly familiar and many are new variations. The overall graphics while cartoonish perfectly suit the tone of the game. The music is acceptable but can be turned off if desired. The challenges aren't so much the actual matching but the strategy needed to finish each level with the best rankings. Trophies are appropriate and take some time to reachtheir gold level. The story is, well, about what can be expected for a m3 game but with brief bubbled conversation between levels, the plot moves along. Having played the first installment isn't necessary to enjoying this one. While there isn't building as such, there are challenges aplenty. In sum, this is a super m3 and I recommend it to both novices and experts as there's something for everyone. A clear tutorial, good "learning curve" and finding a missing prince. Could one ask for more? Looking forward to episode 3, devs! A great job and a large "thank you" to BF for offering this game!
It'd be hard to find downers in this game. It has everything a good HO should plus some. The storyline is made evident only as you move through the game which adds to the chill of suspense. Seemingly unrelated events are neatly tied together as you play, and the eerie events begin to make a weird, supernatural sense. I'm well past halfway, and it's a game you may not want to stop playing 'til you reveal all the secrets! So plan a vacation or hide out 'til you finish, 'cause once you start, you'll play on and on and....There are various levels, a transporting map, hints that recharge fairly quickly and a useful SG. There's text with the VO's, but it passed too quickly for my vision so the VO's are essential for me. They are well done and the HO scenes even when crowded are clear and correctly labeled. The "fun" factor is evident as you move into the game. The suspense, the sudden appearances of....well, no spoilers here, fellow fishies! I strongly recommend the game but as always, try it to see if it's for you. But don't plan on napping 'til the end!

Relic Rescue
Help Buck and Wanda retrieve priceless relics! Grab all the keys you can to enter exciting temples!
If you're a marble poppin' fan or like match 3 games, you may well grow to love this one. The graphics while carooonish are bright, colorful and easy on the eyes as are the levels. Bubbles are bright but not glaring, power-ups and treasurers are easy to spot and the shooter responds well. The story, of course, isn't exactly Shakespear but is suitable to the game type. The power-ups are free for the initial 3, then can be bought with gold coins. You start out with a small stash of gold and it slowly builds as you conquer levels. You can, of course, use US cash to buy more gold, but if you're patient and persistent you'll earn more as you play. So why 4 stars not 5? Well, the levels could stand more variety in shape and layout and the "telescope" that lets you see the whole layout might be available sooner. But these don't detract very much from what is an overall good m3 marble popper. Give it a try and you may just find it a "treasured" experience!

Witch Hunters: Full Moon Ceremony Collector's Edition
Defeat the evil witches and save the world from eternal darkness!
The visuals and plot seemed something I'd enjoy. Magical changes, weird villains (or assistant villains# all sounded positive. Then I began to play and while the game has many good things such as clear graphics, fast recharge for hints and good VO's, there are some downers. The plot and some of the actions needed aren't sensible even by "fantasy" standards. I had the feeling that the storyline was sorta thrown together #maybe in haste?# and logic was ignored. I've only played the demo #55 min. of it# so maybe things'll make better sense later on. But for now, why has the heroine been chosen to save the world? Who's the guiding old woman? Why aren't tools useable in places where they'd be logically good for the job? And the SG while well illustrated, seemed somewhat confusing. All this said, I'm likely gonna stick around to find out how all this works out and who's the Moon Queen and why does her choosing save our world? I fully recommend trying the game, but if you're expecting "business as usual" you're in for some surprises. An interesting and innovative puzzler that may pull me along to the finish! Try it and see....
Having played many, many match 3 games and always looking for more, I dove into this one with high hopes as the building aspect usually adds to the m3 fun. From the opening, though, I knew something was amiss. The cartoonish characters and silly dialogue didn't overly bother me as the core of the game could be a good (great?) match 3. But the play, power-ups, non-removable timer and no choices building side all seem to have come thru a "time warp" from long ago. Earlier m3's were very much like this-endless matching, ordinary power-ups, no untimed option, little to no animation or "special effects" in the building portion and super easy and sometimes repeating puzzles to get "blueprints" for buildings. If you're new to m3's and/or building component m3's then this may be a good intro to the genre. But if more modern "bells and whistles" are what you expect, look elsewhere. It's a no buy for me, but if you're a newbie to this type of game, you may want to start here.

Ominous Objects: Family Portrait Collector's Edition
A father returns home to find his children missing - all but one, who refuses to say a word...
The game seemed to have possibilities. After all, a creepy mansion, living portraits, vanished children, what more could one want? Well....For me the answer is excitement, emotion, that haunted mysterious feeling one gets from this type of game. I just couldn't find it there. The graphics are good, the sounds are appropriate but I kept having the feeling I'd played this before. No, not a flashback memory or anything, but nothing to make it stand out from the many similar games out there. I've nearly finished the demo and so far there are no collectables, no morphing stuff, and the setting (1700's) just didn't draw me in. These are not negatives as you may find this game very appealing, but try it first to avoid disappointment. It's good, solid, playable, but where's the thrill?
It's hard to classify this game. The story is interesting, the conflict of 2 sisters, each claiming her values/motives only will save the living from the evil dead trapped (for now# in the tower. You, the player must work with the one you decide is the truly noble and honorable sister and help her defeat her sibling who sides with the foul ones in the tower. That drew me in as did the good VO's and bright, colorful graphics. But other things began to emerge as I started play. Not negatives necessarily, but possible drawbacks for a player looking for a "normal" fantasy/horror theme. The graphics are colorful but almost cartoonish with lightening flashes, flying blasts of color and dazzles aplenty. The "helper" is a somewhat humorous/sarcastic cat who seems a cross between the Cheshire Cat and Garfield! #Yikes!#. The hints are excellent, there are items to collect and the puzzles are skippable #on the lower level). But as I played, it seemed almost as if the game is a parody of more serious "Ravenhurst" types. I recommend you try it to judge. You may find this "satire" detracts from the story and feel of the game, or not, or isn't even there. I'm recommending the game but urge you to try it first. Put another way, all the weirdness in the game isn't confined to the ghostly tower!
The story caught my attention (changing world within worlds) and the graphics (the lamp, magic effects) got my attention. After the opening cut scene, (where I thought the visuals were a bit blurry) the game had me in my chair for the demo and it's a buy for more, more, more! Sure we've played the "missing child" story before, but not often with such creative flair. The puzzles are fair and #in the demo# are new takes on tried and true ideas, but except for those pesky fireflies, not overly difficult #some thought required#. The flower hint button recharges quickly and the guide is terse but clear and the photos in it are good. The voices are appropriate if occasional unclear #there's text to read# and the collections #glowing flowers and morphs# are relatively but not overly easy to spot. The high point for me is the transition from our ordinary world to a surreal #but clear# world of....whoops, no spoilers here, fishies! With customization and CE perks, this is a sure buy for me. As always , though, try it first #Thanks BF for the longer trial times! Super!# and you may just get captured by it's "flower power"!
I wasn't greatly impressed with the blurred and wavering graphics of the opening cut scene, but my annoyance disappeared as the story unfolded and the sounds and music led me into the eerie, tinted worlds which....Hey, no spoilers here, fishies! Suffice to say there's a mysterious disappearance to solve, life-threatening choices to be made, and magic aplenty. What more could one ask of an involving and "can't put it down" game like this? The fuzziness of the graphics was due to an "effect" you'll find throughout the demo #and, presumably, rest of the game, too#. You need that fuzziness, however to spot the....well, things you need which often stand out clearly. A journal with magical pages which....but that would be telling, wouldn't it? Fast hint recharge and good puzzle directions. Fairly short tutorial which you can exit anytime, and varying levels of difficulty #not custom though#. In sum, I found this a very enjoyable, shivery mystery replete with odd shapes, runes, ghosts #?# and, well...I suggest giving it a try. For me, it's a keeper!
