3D Puzzle Venture takes puzzle gaming to a whole new dimension! With multiple levels of difficulty and 40 high-resolution puzzle images included, this is a game that every puzzle enthusiast is sure to enjoy!
The devs had a wonderful idea. Make a puzzle clear, vibrant and 3D. What could be wrong? Well, nothing exactly wrong, but the slippery control and oddly warped shapes add nothing good to the game. There's a small number of puzzles in similar categories (i.e. architecture and landscapes) and you can add your own pics. But having to almost constantly swing, slide or turn the board for more pieces or to connect them I found awkward and distracting. But if you're looking for a puzzle title that's different and challenging then I suggest trying this one. The drawbacks may just prove assets for you.
I like this type of TM game where you're given specific tasks and can collect jewels and such. But this game has a serious lack. No untimed option. The simplistic graphics and silly backstory lead to an excellent challenge. Make needed potions before those sneaky imps steal your stuff! Of course the levels get more intense as you pprogress and the objectives grow in number and kind. An untimed mode would've let not so nimble players like me enjoy the challenge with a lot less pressure. But for players who have low blood pressure and can sail calmly along under the merciless hands of time, this is a fun and funny game that you might want to try.
I enjoy match 3 games so I was ready to like this one. The graphics are colorful if a bit on the dark side (well, stars ARE seen at night, right?). The character is cute and the music liltingly appropriate. The game can be played with or without a timer and the levels grow in size and complexity as you progress. So why not 5 stars? Because the directions aren't always clear and the scoring system often leaves you wondering whether you're progressing or not.The object is to rebuild 3 magical houses and collect points for setting off fireworks. The m3 levels are interspersed with hidden object and quick click puzzles. There may be other kinds but not in the demo time. It's a relaxing game that an adult will rejoy alone or shared with a child. My suggestion is to try it and see if it's going to be a star in your collection.
Liking HO and HO/adventure games I was prepared to enjoy a new take on an old story. Hansel and Gretel is a classic and could be the basis for a truly fun game. But not this time out. The art in opening scene and in play is cartoonish, dark and weirdly swirled as though in a dream or fun house mirror. The VO is good and I actually was starting to like the little gingerbread hint button. But the cursor was annoying as it was hard to tell the normal hand shape from the grabbing hand and objects had to be touched carefully to get a result. The storyline might've been ok but the dim, warped and sometimes downright ugly visuals were very distracting. I can't in honestly recommend this game but if you're gonna try it, send the kids to bed first as it is not a kidie fairy tale. For me this was definitely not a sweet treat.
An excellent game from a great developer! This has all a HO and/or adventure fan could ask for. Excellent graphics, a transporting map, good cutscenes and a truly creepy story. More? Well, there are collectables, a truly helpful fast filling hint button (mirror?) and a mysterious "projector" whose use wasn't obvious during the demo time but has the creepily odd character of the rest of the items. The voiceovers are good but the squeaky high girls voice could've sounded a bit more real. A small quibble is an otherwise super game. Just don't plan on enrolling anybody at this school until you've...no, I'm not gonna give anything away. Just try the demo and see! I highly recommend this game!
I like town building M3's and thought this one had possibilities. And there are some positives about it but with small unclear objects in the HO's, ghosts that squeak like demented mice when clicked on and slow progress toward getting money for building it falls far short of what is might've been. The weak (to say the least )story line doesn't spoil the rather clever M3 portion and in a M3 the story line isn't vital anyway. After all that, I do recommend you try the game if you're an M3 fan, a town builder or want an unusual presentation of a solid theme. You may find it a "haunting" experience.
Orphan Evy wakes to find herself in a fairytale kingdom under threat from an evil witch. Help her save the magic kingdom with Marble Popping puzzle duels.
The game meets a need I didn't know I had. The need for popping meets role playing meets adventure and WOW! It's all there and near if not at perfection! The story is a charming retelling of mysteriously orphaned girl enters unknown fairy world for mysterious adventure. The obvious goal is to defeat the ruling witch but this is done is a way similar to the Puzzle Quest series, but with marbles. You duel with villains buy power-ups and enjoy the character's often wry humor. No, this isn't a kiddie game. It needs strategic thinking and cool reflexes and a taste for comic satire. But fans of all the foregoing game types should give this a try. You might be playing the intro to a whole new genre of games!
The crisp no nonsense graphics, the lack of any "bells and whistles" makes this oddity of a game even more off the beaten trail. Yes, there's tile matching, levels, awards and power-ups but all with a straight business-like feel. The 3 sets of tiles in the demo #could there be more sets later?# are rendered clearly and non playable tiles can be dimmed or not during play. It's an enjoyable twist on a fairly common theme. But as with too many other offerings there's no untimed mode. This dulls the fun#for me# as I can't enjoy the game while anxiously clock watching. But I know many players enjoy this aspect so do give it a try. You may become the Mahjong Master of Wall Street!
I wasn't sure I'd stay with this one when I found the Guide to be only pictures, no text. Siilar guides have been very hard to see and harder to follow but this game's outstanding story kept me playing on to find out what happens next. Rarely does a game's story take hold and keep up the suspense throughout! The VO's are quite good, the graphics are excellent (except for the smaller items which tend to blend into the background) and the puzzles while familiar are given some new twists. Even without morphing and transporter maps the game stands up well and is definitely worth a trial. You may never look at a dollhouse or stuffed doll in quite the same way!
This was going to be a mildly negative review as I wasn't at all pleased with the opening and graphics. But as I played the demo (50 mins. of it# the darn game grew on me and now I'll probably buy it just to see what's going on and collect all those creepy skulls. Whoda thought a game about death could be amusing and even fun? The graphics are cartoonish and the HO's are clear but very cluttered, making some small items harder to find. The setting at first seems more than a little bazarre but as you come to understand the concept of the Day of the Dead, it becomes clear and in many spots, even funny! The Guide #aka Hint button) is a wacky and helpful book. Ya gotta play the thing to get what's going on and see if this is your type of oddity. It has all the usual bells and whistles. There's a strategy guide that's detailed, helpful and keeps your place. Three play levels and collectables. There are trophys too and even they reflect the game's oddball humor. Give it a try and hang in for the whole demo as it may grow on you as it did me. It's a lively romp through the Land of the Dead!
