I hardly got into the demo when I saw that this was not the quality HOS game that I've been used to and would prefer not to waste my time on. I'm sure it's just a personal preference but I don't like the graphics or mechanics of this type game. I would prefer to wait on the greater quality games which make it worthwhile.
I didn't have to go far into the demo to see that this game just wasn't up to the quality level of HOS games we have been spoiled to play now. I'm sure for some gamers it's just fine but for me not so. Since I only played for a few minutes, I can't give a fair review so just see for yourself.
This game was just ok for me. Didn't care a whole lot for the mechanics of the game nor did I care for the graphics. The gingerbread men were cute but just not enough other things about the game to make me like it a lot. I quit playing during the demo because in one of the HO scenes, I couldn't pick up the spade and just in case I was trying to get the wrong object, I used the hint and I was on the right one but there must have been some sort of glitch that would never let me pick it up. Not enticing enough, especially as a CE for me.
You've come to Mexico to explore a mysterious mansion. But this is no vacation. Your cousin is missing, and the house is crawling with bizarre and deadly creatures!
I loved the previous Twilight Phenomena and I love this one even more! The graphics are outstanding and there is such a wonderful "playfulness" about this game. You have a choice of either playing the HOP or playing a mini game and both are lots of fun. I really enjoy the HOP's which include a variety of ways to play like find the things that don't fit into the Mayan era, find matching fruits and then just regular HOP's. You also once in a while find a bar of soap to give to the raccoon to wash a piece of garment that you are collecting to dress him but I kind of feel sorry for him having to "slave" over and wash each piece. He looks exhausted, ha! The music was good and VO's not bad. Lots of adventure and surprises and I love the way the mechanics of the game works. I look forward to adding this one to my collection.
You have to be able to appreciate the "Fairy Tale" themes to really enjoy the Awakening series but this is another of many that doesn't disappoint. The graphics are always beautiful with good sound effects along with great mechanics of how things work. The puzzles in this game are quite challenging but fun. The HO's are done very well with some interaction. As far as I could tell in the demo, you only collect morphing potion bottles. Lots to do to keep you engaged.
I really enjoyed this version of Echoes of the Past. The graphics were absolutely beautiful, background music very appropriate, VO's not bad, HO's very well done and fun to play and the mini games were challenging. I have all of this series games and will be purchasing this one as well for my collection. The only drawback I have is that I'm not so sure it's really worthy to be a CE due to the fact that there weren't very many achievements to earn and you only collect bottles of potions. These days, I like to see the CE games chalked full of all of the extras, including morphing objects, lots of achievements along with all of the other extras. This game also had so many adorable dolls and toy things that warm the heart! Great game!
This game was well done and mainly a good game to play for a whole different theme. It didn't exactly grab me but was interesting none the less. Was a little disappointed that there wasn't more to do than look out for the bugs to collect but the HO's were good and you do get some achievements. Has to be a real winner for steampunk fans. Think I'll pass on this one, especially for the CE and wait for one that really appeals to me.
This game was just ok to play....nothing to really get you immersed into it. Like so many other "fairy tale" type games. I couldn't understand what really qualified this one as a CE. You only were to collect these "some see" creatures in order to open another page in your journal so that's not enough to really grant the cost of a CE in my opinion. I never care about the wallpapers, music and such and by the time I've finally finished the game itself, I really don't even care too much about playing a bonus game. I'll definitely wait for a game more worthy of the CE cost.
I've played all of the previous Grim Tale games and this one seems to be more exciting than the others. I was happy to see the collectibles and achievements but for a CE was disappointed to not see morphing objects which are always fun to look out for. I believe this particular CE though is still worth the extra money, especially with the bargain deal BF is offering for the previous Grim Tale games.
There's no way this game can match up to the quality games we have now. First of all, I don't like it when the game isn't full screen and don't care for the "still" scenes at the beginning. It took me all of 2 minutes into this game to know it wasn't for me. Seems "old school" and boring.
