Based on one hour demo, but buying today!
What fun!
The devs have put twists on the old HO game formula and come up with a winner.
The HOSs are very interactive with storyline and mini-puzzles included. There are numerous achievements to garner and acorns to find. Even the storyline is good.
Love the graphics! Well done devs.
The puzzles and mini-puzzles involve multiple steps and are creative and new. Early in the game you have to free a hamster, then follow him to an HOS, play the HOS, then take the hamster to another scene and interact with another puzzle with the hamster! C'mon, that's great!! Fun, fun, fun.
You also have four game playing options from which to choose: casual, normal, expert and custom.
Nice to see this creative game. We only hope the rest of the game is as wonderful.
I recommend this game!

We really liked this game! It is SE only, but who needs a CE when the SE has achievements and spying eyes to find in every scene.
Game ran smoothly without any hitches (Vista). The only thing we noticed is that when you click on the Achievements button at the main menu, it does not actually list the achievements you have earned. We earned them all, and yet the "Benny" figures never filled in.
Artwork is very nice with good voice overs.
You volunteer to help bring a young woman out of a terminal sleep state induced by the evil Sandman. To accomplish this task, you enter her dream worlds. Each dream world starts out bleak and as you solve the mysteries of the dream, the world blooms. Nice.
There is a cute, furry creature named Benny who appears throughout the game. Though the scary dreams may be too much for younger children, Benny helps make the game more accessible for all ages.
The journal is helpful and adds to the game's depth.
The story concludes with the young woman being saved, but opens the door to another adventure when her best friend is threatened.
We will be buying the next installment of this surprizingly good game. Job well done developers!
I recommend this game!

We really enjoyed the hour demo of this game. It is fun and scary in a good, not really frightening way. Haunted, cursed movie theater venue. (Have not played any of the previous Fear for Sale games.)
There are multiple achievements to earn: Beyond Objects (also found in the HOSs so keep your eyes open), Origami objects, Tarot cards, Butterflies, etc. Achievements really make a game much more fun and challenging. Kudos.
There are also other achievements such as not using the Hint button during HOSs, not skipping puzzles (which are only easy/medium in diffuculty), fast-finding of objects in HOSs, etc.
The graphics are nice and rather reminiscent of ERS's graphic style.
HOSs are interactive and nicely done. You have to think a little for the interactive objects. Remember, there are Beyond Objects in the HOSs.
We generally don't purchase CEs since most of them are not worth it, but we will make an exception for this game. Well done.
I recommend this game!

Based on completed game.
Game starts out a little slow and ordinary. However, once you get into the mine the imagination and creativity of the developers really shines. Lovely, imaginary world filled with creatures and characters that enchant.
Excellent, nonlinear game play! You are presented with some tasks early in the game that you cannot resolve until the very end. Good fun and good for your memory.
There is a helpful map which shows the different sites in the game and lists the tasks to be performed at each site if you can't remember what to do next. This map also lets you jump from site to site so there is no backtracking unless you enjoy playing the game in that fashion.
HOSs are well crafted and not too easy. Never had to use the hint button for an HOS. If you get stuck during game play, the hint button will give you very specific directions on what to do next.
If you have played the other Grim Tales games, you will see your nephew Brandon again in this game all grown up. GT The Legacy the best of the previous games.
The puzzles are only of medium difficulty and no Skip buttons were needed.
We really enjoy games that create enchanting, beautiful worlds to look at and still challenge us mentally. This game truly meets those expectations.
Buy it!!
I recommend this game!

We enjoy the ERS Dark Tales series and M. Dupin. With Edgar Allan Poe as a muse/basis it's hard to go wrong. He is a master of mystery/horror and still a fun read today.
Graphics: Classic ERS graphics --- artistic and lovely. We love the Belle Epoque era that is brought to life so well in these games. Really lets you feel out of time.
Storyline: Again, with EAP as your inspiration you can't go wrong. And who doesn't love a treasure hunt?!
Difficulty: Moderate for an experienced player.
Bugginess: We run the antique and frustrating Vista. (We really need to get a new computer someday.) As the game play continues, and the game we save keeps getting larger, play definitely slows down, but no real bugs.
We enjoyed this game. Quite diverting.
I recommend this game!
