This game is extremely complicated. If this is your sort of thing... bouncing between islands and searching for next to impossible to spot items... then you'll have a great time.
The story line is pretty good and it's definitely a challenge to play. Thank goodness there are a ton of forums on it because you'll need as much help as you can get.
I love these games... and this one lives up to the challenge of being great, even adding a level of decision making that can change the story-line!
BUT... they upped the amount of mini-games. Mini-games are not my thing and ruin the game in my opinion. If they can't get rid of them, can't they at least give those of us who don't care for them the option to turn them off?
All in all, this game is wonderful. I know it must be difficult to write those decision making outcomes, but it would have been fun to have even more of those ... and to have the options to play the story-line (once you finished the initial game) to find out what would have happened if you'd answered some of the choices differently without having to play the whole game over again.
Keep up the good work, gang! This is another good one!
I love these games! There's a new addition to this one... picking up supplies... that adds some fun and the old quests are still there, too.
There is something in this called "clicker" that I simply don't get and think they wasted their time with, but it's nothing important to the game, so it's good for people who like it and easily left alone for those who don't.
In this one you get to build a train yard... in the same manner you got to build a town in the second one.
And all the old characters... including the not-so-bright banker... are back!
This is a great game... and much the same as the others. I love the fact that they haven't changed anything! The story is cute and you don't have to relearn the whole thing to be able to play.
Loads of fun, especially if you enjoyed all the others!
This is another Hercules story... except without the interesting characters and it's MUCH slower! It takes forever for the resource bars to fill up and you end up spending most of your time waiting for enough resources to make a next move. This is especially annoying when you make a mistake in using your resources, run out of something, and have to start over. Has only happened once so far, thank goodness.
While well done, I can't agree that this is better than the original games. Get rid of the kids and let's go back to Herc and crew... and speed up those resources!
This is a great story line, though I didn't see anything "collector" about it. What I hate is the "mini-games". They ruin the flow of these games to me.
Otherwise, good game. It feels like a "part 1"... as it gives the impression there is more coming in this game.
They've combined two of my favorite games into one super game! Tons of fun and various difficulty levels. Parts are very familiar and other parts are new. Only complaint... it was over too soon! (Still well worth getting... and lots of play time in this.)
This series of games is my very favorite. You can make it as hard or easy as you want. I prefer an easy, relaxing game and this sure delivered.
While the storyline was a bit lacking, it doesn't really effect the game all that much. The favorite characters were still there and I love the dogs in this game.
I'd have to say the only thing I kind of missed was saving the cats and dogs that insisted on wandering all over the screen in the other games. While saving the wild animals was fun, they stayed put the same way they did in earlier games.
I purchased this game thinking it wouldn't be that bad. I like games that require getting rock, food, gold and so forth... BUT this game took so LONG between food growing back and factories producing product that I got bored! Then throw in the fact that there is barely a story line and that sometimes you have to guess which things to do first or end up having to start over and... well, the game is not only boring now, but annoying as well.
One weird glitch... I would play up to a certain level and stop for a while and then return to find that the game had set me back 3 levels and I had to go to the map to get where I had been instead of using the "continue" button. (Such as, I ended on level 29 once and was on level 27 when I said "continue".)
