There were loads of hidden object scenes (but you know me, I always wish for more), plenty of puzzles. You solved a crime but there was quite a bit of humor and mischief going on. This was an enjoyable game to play. People with gnome phobias should beware though:)

And I thought the other two games in this series were pretty good. After a bit of gameplay though this one went downhill fast. It was full of busywork with little storyline. Boring. By the time I got to the end of the game I was more than ready for it to be over. The SE had a good ending. The bonus chapter added a convoluted twist to the whole story. Nothing in the CE made it worth twice the price of the SE for none of the puzzles or hidden object scenes were worth replaying, going back to find the puzzles pieces and collectibles was a big NO for me for I hate them in the first place and the 'bonus chapter' was no bonus. A sad ending to a series that began rather nicely.
This had more art than 'Art Mahjong 3' but the tile sets sat on top of the pictures so that wasn't necessarily a good thing, in fact it could make the tiles difficult to discern at times. The backgrounds were pretty though. You didn't have a choice of background you were just given it with a level, in Art Mahjong 3 you could pick your background. This one didn't have the dragon master variation, which I didn't like anyway but since that also meant you got 20 less levels I couldn't help but feel a bit cheated. I also couldn't find a way with either game to pause the level I was on without having to restart it. Also both 3 & 4 had those darn gold tiles which I loathe because you don't clear the board, just find all the gold matches and I always want to clear the board. I love mahjong and this was fun. However, if you are not a mahjong freak like me who has to own every mahjong game Big Fish has then I would steer clear of this one for there are others that are better.
There is no story to this unless it was written by an elementary school child. The spirits are demons. The 'scary' parts are those a child would think of as scary. You are supposed to be a medium, yet you make potions, have a demon familiar in a mirror and use a necromancy ritual to raise a skeleton from the dead so you can talk to it??? That is all very mixed up weird! There was one hidden object scene and the rest of the game consisted of being confused as to what I was doing, why I was doing it and what the story was supposed to be for it certainly didn't sound like the synopsis....let's go dumpster diving here and find bits and parts and pieces and wow (sarcasm) I am so scared I raised a skeleton from the dead (yawn). There are some quite satanic elements to this game, childish as they come across, they are not innocent. I couldn't make it through the demo. There is nothing creepy or paranormal or haunting here, nothing spooky and Halloweenish. The game is just a bunch of childish demonic elements thrown together in hopes that it will pass for a game.....it doesn't.
I love Mahjong games, it is my favorite genre to play - nice, relaxing, clicking tiles and thinking.... I don't know why this was called 'Art Mahjong' for there is no art in it??? The first variation was Dragon Mahjong where tiles run across the top and you have to select matches from your tile set before the dragon reaches the end. The problem with this was the dragon moved sooooo slowly, at least in my opinion, that this was no challenge whatsoever. I guess that is what you get for being a Mahjong lover, it takes a lot to challenge you! The next variation was the normal mahjong which I thought was best except at times they added gold tiles and so then we played find the tiles instead of clear the board and I would rather clear the board. The third variation was my least favorite called Dragon Master, it made little sense because you kind of, but didn't really, play against the 'Dragon Master' and it took no talent or thought, it was just the luck of the draw whether you 'won' a board or not, and with this one you never cleared it (which drove me nuts) and they arbitrarily decided when you had finished a certain amount of tiles the game was over. There are many, many, many better Mahjong games out there I find more fun but to each their own, do the trial first, make sure you try all three variations before your trial time runs out and decide if you wish to purchase or not. My guess is that you won't. I certainly hope 'Art Mahjong 4' is better because I bought it also...time will tell....

This game is creepy fun, finally! Most of your activities make sense with what you are doing. There are a couple of locks to pick but it isn't with every step you take and not to pad out the game to make it longer. As always, I wish for more hidden object scenes vs. puzzles. However the puzzles aren't too bad for a non-puzzler like me, I only had to skip a couple. I found this game way more enjoyable than several new ones out lately. Give it a try! It is quite enjoyable, in that creep vibe kind of way....
You actually have a storyline that makes sense and activities that fit the story. I always wish for more hidden object scenes so, of course, I wish this game had more. It was a great change of pace from the mindless non-story 'adventure' with picking locks and fixing zippers and dumpster diving for bits and pieces to put together being the main part of the game, at least this one wasn't one of 'those'. After the same old boring stuff being put out here lately this game was a breath of fresh air.
Amy is an organic, probably essential oils 'tree hugger' who would have said plastic over paper which we are now learning was a HUGE mistake, BUT even so this game is fun! I would have not bought it if I hadn't beta tested it and I would have missed out on a fun game. I do wonder why the cashier always falls asleep on the job and isn't fired. Why can't the gardener see his plants need water or have bugs? Watch out for the crying kids with their red crying faces and work as hard and as fast as you can so you don't have too many customers with red angry faces who will soon leave the store! I knew it should have always been paper over plastic, glass over plastic. I also can tell the difference between all the plastic invading our clothes and natural cotton and wool so I puzzle over why someone into organic everything can't. Even so, Amy and her 'Greenmart' are quite a fun challenge! Try it and see! I heard there was an Amy's Greenmart 2 but am disappointed that I was unable to find it on here.
I recommend this game!

I would like a game that is in present day, that doesn't involve alternate realities or other worlds or hidden universes...I also would love to have more hidden objects and yet let the game still be an adventure. This game is the same scifi yawn all through. It is pretty, the graphics and scenes are great. But you pick up pieces of garbage, a little here and a little there and then you might be able to put something together. Most times the storyline is so poor you are clicking hint and consulting the map to see where you have to go and what you need to do. The story is convoluted, you set out to save your friend who has a doppelganger? in a parallel reality, who is, of course, a princess, and is, of course, sick. Except you never see her or save her or heal her and somehow you end up going after a bad guy???? Are you as lost as I? I think I'd rather clip my toenails than play yet another scifi freaky game. Let's have a little scare! Horror here and there. Paranormal anyone?

This would have been really cool if they had worked as much on the game as they did on the intro. I also wish they were more aware of people with vestibular issues who have problems with streams of water hidden object scenes with items on leaves floating downstream, spirals, twirling, swinging, etc. Don't you get tired of awaiting adventure only to become a professional lock picker and dumpster diver with broken bit of this and pieces of that all over your inventory? Tired of preschool busywork puzzles to pad out the game? Don't you long for a real armchair adventure with actions and activities to match it? What about repeatedly having to click hint because what you need to do is not clear enough or makes no sense and you have no clue what to do? This game has all of that! I finished the series! I made it through! I'm glad I am done! I bought the whole series! It was NOT fun! ALWAYS TRY BEFORE YOU BUY!!!!!
