First off, I am not a scifi/fantasy fan for they never make any sense to me. I also go along with the other reviewers who speak of having to run all over the place, a common tactic to pad out a game to make you think it was longer and more worthwhile than it was. Back to the scifi/fantasy, I just don't understand...I am still Eve Glover and I am still multidimentioning. I am the guardian of the universes, as many as there are stars in the sky. Yet....one of my first tasks is to feed my fish, apparently when I fed my fish yesterday the clasp on my satchel broke and I wasn't responsible enough to remember to fix it until I had to feed my fish today - how's that for a galaxy guardian? I think we're in trouble. I am also a klutz for I can't seem to feed my fish or open a clasp or lock without breaking it. Who keeps their open shaker of fish food and a magnet together in a satchel - what a mess! Going through the portals is a vestibular nightmare. They can't decide if Exarch is ch as in chair or arch as in ark. Why do they all have to have such strange names? Nidoli, Onslow, Brood, Lucien, Arden, Chalice, Eranus, Lyen to name a few. Either I break every clasp or lock or piece of machinery I come across or no one else has used them until they are old and broken? But, they don't look old and broken so I sense busywork and this story is inane. Why are there always floating things and fairy twinkle lights, alchemy and potions. The Nidoli elders' names: Hosul Etny, Toar Saysuk? Itgar Neet, Wortas Garel, Arom Cyet, Vorom Umari - wish they had been as creative in making up a game! It is all like watching a godzilla movie when godzilla gibberish spews forth. What exactly is a Guardian of the Universes' job description? It seems to be to find bits of things to open locks and doors, cubbies and drawers etc. And if I am the Guardian then why do I have to do all the grunt work, shouldn't the grunts under me be doing it? Why are things like Chalice personified? Nope, this type of game is not for me. I was so relieved when it ended. I only have one more in the series to go and I have learned my lesson well, ALWAYS do the trial before you buy a game!!!
I don't recommend this game.

These have all been awful for me, a big lesson in always try the trial before you buy the game. In all fairness I am not a scifi otherworld fantasy whatever person, and I find stories like this boring as heck! It begins with: you must sacrifice your civilization in order for it to survive, by freezing it??? These storylines make zero sense to me. The world of Corra is in distress and why is it Eve Glover's mission to explore all the worlds, as many as there are stars in the sky? And why does this mean she has to go and try to save Corra? We don't know and we are never told and the story goes downhill from there. You can always tell a badly thrown together storyline because they will give you game after game and puzzle after puzzle for busywork to try to make it seem like a pathetic game was worth your money. All that said I did hold my own for a bit, then realized that I was beginning to feel nauseous and weird, I have vestibular issues and with this game you are constantly looking through falling snow and nothing holds still, if you have a paper to read it tips up and down - back and forth and sideways, teetering about. Things are always moving either in your face or in the background so this quickly became a game for me to get out of as soon as possible. I thought about ending it early but that didn't seem fair so I persisted to the end. And it quickly became 'click hint' for what to do next and 'skip' because of bad directions to some idiotic puzzle. Even the hidden object scenes made little sense and were turned into puzzles in some way shape or form (anything to make the game longer...) for instance in one hidden object scene it said "pinecone (2) poppies (2)" most people would think that meant find two pinecones or find two poppies - but NOooo, it meant find matching pairs. Sheesh!!! I am so glad to be done with this game and only have two more to get through before I can go on to something hopefully more pleasant. Take everything all the bad reviews say about this game, multiply it by 100, add in the vestibular issues and that was my horrid gaming experience with this one. I hope the next two games in this series are better but since those would be the exception I am not holding my breath. See you back with the stupid guardians....
I don't recommend this game.

I cannot believe I wasted my afternoon playing the full trial. All busy work: it started out having me jump through hoops to find a key to get out of my own dressing room and open my own purse. It got worse from there. Running to and fro fixing this and collecting that, taking up time in order to hide the fact that there is very little story. 90 minutes, and all that happened was she got kidnapped, he couldn't find her, she found him. That's all. Not creepy, not scary, no mystery, almost no story line. Just tedious job after job, doing ridiculous things like opening drawers with belts, breaking furniture to have to prop it on books, etc. They seem to add all this busy work to make the game longer so you'll think it's worth your money, but I didn't even think it was worth paying the $2.99 for. Will not be buying, a waste of time. A poor storyline is a poor storyline, and I'm tired of being a professional lock picker.
I don't recommend this game.

Here we go down yet another world's rabbit hole. Strange how all these 'other worlds' are so similar! This is just not my type of game. I want something spooky, supernatural, mysterious, that will hold my attention. A well written storyline and great hidden object scenes. I hate all the busywork puzzles, must every lock, book, room etc have one? I don't think it would in real life - but then again, we aren't in real life are we? Now there is 'dark' harmonium as well as light. Dark and light Harmonium are out of balance so it's the end of the world I tell ya! I am with the CCPP although I never quite found out what that stood for, I think it was mentioned offhand in one of the games in this series. And by the way - all the moving rune puzzles were very dizzying for someone with vestibular issues. Please think of those with disabilities when creating a game. I have three more to go in this series and I question why I bought them every time - it was because they were done by Eipix. Now I know to try anything before I buy it!
I don't recommend this game.

I beta tested this game and it is horrid. I can't believe they said it got a bunch of positive reviews from the beta testers. Note too that this is not really Mystery Case Files but An MCF story - they are only trying to get you to grab it thinking it would be a Mystery Case Files Game but it is well below that. The reviews mention having to click hint and skip a lot and not being able to make it through the game - that is because the game storyline is poor and the actions you need to carry out make no sense. In confusion your only options are to click hint and skip or end the game and most of us will click hint and skip hoping the game will clear up and get better. This is like watching a bad movie you can't believe you sat through to the end. Don't even bother with beginning this game.
I don't recommend this game.

Harmonium? Again? Must we still? Oh the bad girl who turned good last time has turned bad again - then she shot me? I must have morphed into someone else, this is scifi/fantasy I guess. And down the rabbit hole we go! This made no sense like the last one, why did I buy this series without trying it first? Because it was Eipix and now I am shaking my head...I have an Owl/Dragon puppy? (are baby dragons puppies?)/ Friendly babyish looking gargoyle 'helper' whose name is Basil....Original.... I'm surprised it wasn't Basilium:) Anyway, Basil is there to help translate and explain things for you - only he is of no help. It is also bad enough without some annoying robotic bird following me through the woods in my way when I have to look for things that I can't see because you got it, the bird is covering it up. Last we have the good guy who has turned bad somehow turns good again (been there, did that)?!? And I am so sorry I ever purchased these games. I have I think 5 more? Glutton for punishment I guess, for I will try them all since I bought them. Away we go.....

I really think it was just the game. I don't get into fantasy/scifi or whatever these are called. They seem like childish, overblown, overly dramatic fairy tales to me. They never make sense to me and so they end up a skip and hint game instead of a Hidden Object one. I don't understand why normal people can't just be normal people, they always have to have some strange name like plainborn or towndweller. The hidden object scenes are what I have come to call hidden puzzle object scenes as in you have to find hands for a clock before you can even find a clock. Then at the end of the Hidden Object Scene there is always a riddle, a riddle is yet another puzzle! You do have the option of playing a bubble popper game instead of doing the HO but then it makes little sense as to what you have found or what you are doing. I wish you would have the option of doing a puzzle or playing a hidden object scene. Why are stories like this always in an alternate world/reality Anther in this case where you have Torment and Harmonium personified. I feel that there is little story and so it is dragged out to the max with puzzles and other time wasters, even rope puzzles that don't work. It also makes no sense to me how you do things: Your friends crash and so you run all over 'Anther' and do all this busywork and then all of a sudden remember that your friends have crashed and you need to find them and see if they are okay. How does that make any sense or hold anyone's interest? Then in this story you find out it was all for nothing, you needn't have gone there in the first place?!? I can't believe something was actually called HARMocoral! And that is a good thing? what!!! These are overly dramatic, childish fairytale like stories, but not that good even. And why must there always be rhyming? Is it always RAP on another world? The Shadow of Torment had me picturing ghosts in torment, something along supernatural lines would have been ever so much better! Yet I have bought this entire series, a glutton for punishment (I thought they would be good since they were done by Eipix!) So off to 'The Obsidian Book' I go.
I recommend this game!

I thought I was stuck on the tree of life forever??? That seemed to be where the last game ended. I am not a big fantasy/scifi fan but Eipix is one of my favorite developers so I bought this series. I am confused as to why the living mountain was a threat and what the bad guy intended to do with it. As usual with EIpix it had great graphics and the actions were usually storyline related though some were a little farfetched. This game had a better map for poor people like me with no sense of direction in life or in gameplay. My only gripe (other than the inability to quite grasp the story) was that most of the hidden object scenes were moving, you had to find things around things that were moving around which is quite difficult for someone like me with vestibular issues and can leave someone like me feeling quite queasy, not something I would want from trying to relax and play a game. I would recommend it to all you fantasy/scifi fans, but I am someone into horror and paranormal so this was just not the best game for me. We'll see how Amaranthine Voyage: The Shadow of Torment goes...
I don't recommend this game.

I thought the game was wonderfully nicely done, good scenery, good characters, good everything. Nice that there were lots of hidden objects scenes as opposed to puzzle after puzzle after puzzle. I don't like puzzles but the ones here were not obnoxious and they were doable for me instead of the pull out your hair in frustration type. I got the biggest kick out of the wizard (don't know his name, I was lost) who was a bad guy turned good who would wait on you and while he was waiting he would do a bit of magic by playing with a spark of fire. I would go back when I knew where he was an could find him, just to watch sometimes. All that brings me to the bad, I was so lost....there were a ton of scenes and I don't have a good sense of direction at all. Having to go through a bunch of scenes to complete tasks and then backtracking to someplace you can't remember where it was (like where was that arrow supposed to go?) was a bit frustrating and I had to use the hint button a lot. There was a map but it didn't teleport you to your place it just showed where you were and where you needed to go and since it was more than one page it got a bit complex and so I clicked hint, sometimes to the point of making it more of an interactive story than a game which is not good. I play of an evening to relax before going to bed and this story didn't hold my interest enough to keep me awake and therefore I got even more lost. I also think I am stuck on the tree of life forever, which can't be since there are more in this series...guess I will have to see if it continues on. I prefer spooky and creepy horror to wizards and magic (unless it's of the hoodoo variety) and fantasy so this isn't my cup of tea, but I love Eipix as a developer and so I bought this series untried. We'll have to see how the rest go.
I recommend this game!

This game is not an improvement over All-in-One Mahjong as I had hoped. It is still a very primitive and basic Mahjong game. There are only 48 levels and it only shows in two rows, about four and three-fourths layouts per row, when you get past those you then have to scroll to wherever you wish to be. It doesn't automatically forward you to the next layout as you play either - you have to go out to the main menu and scroll through the two rows to find it. There are only 3 tile sets offered. The backgrounds on this one seemed to have gotten a little more work than the last one but again there is no improvement. The backgrounds, especially of blueberries and the one of a pile of fall leaves are so busy they overpower the mahjong tile set, are too distracting and way too busy. As in the last one you don't log in as a player, you just play. You have the option of timed or by score. Timed doesn't mean you have a certain amount of time to finish a layout, it means it will keep track of how long it took you to finish the layout so you can try to beat it next time. If you are playing and someone else has played, you get the best time of all players, not just you. The only way out of the game is to make the screen small and then hit X. Like I said a very primitive game. Unless you are a real mahjong fanatic like me, look for another mahjong game Big Fish has many many better options than this one.
I don't recommend this game.
