To be truthful, I lost interest in the Phantasmat series long ago and didn’t even purchase the last game – one of the few that I haven’t since the CE version of games was introduced. With this being the third Phantasmat game released this year I didn’t hold out hope that this would be a good game but what a surprise when I played the demo and found Phantasmat Death in Hardcover to be an excellent game.
There is no need for me to recap the storyline, which by the way, I found to be excellent and thrilling. It was a storyline that held my interest from the very first scene as I tried to find out why this madman was targeting me and putting my family at risk.
What made Phantasmat Death in Hardcover such a great game? Aside from the well told storyline, what really grabbed me were the very creative HOP scenes. Those scenes were excellent and sometimes challenging with one of them having me a bit confused until I figured it out. The puzzles are terrific and some seemed quite challenging at least for me.
Although I am not a fan of the thriller theme in HOPA games, Death by Hardcover gripped me from the very beginning. As I played there were times I was on the edge of my chair but I still couldn’t stop playing since I had to see how this all ended and if Marcia would be able to rescue her family. This game is fairly intense and one that might not be appropriate for all members of the family. For once, all those warnings that we see in games, really is true. If you are able to handle an intense psychological thriller, then you will most likely love this game. Many gamers, I am sure will agree that this is the game we have been waiting to see: a game that is designed for adults and one that elicits a range of emotions while playing. EIPIX did an amazing job with this Phantasmat that, IMHO, would definitely qualify as a candidate for game of the year. Congratulations on an excellent game! Even though I really found this to be an incredible game, PLEASE try the demo to see if Phantasmat Death in Hardcover is a game you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

A DARK PARABLES GAME THAT IS EXCELLENT AND CLOSE TO WHAT I LOVED IN THE ORIGINALS

Dark Parables The Match Girl’s Lost Paradise is the fifteenth game in the series and is the eighth one developed by EIPIX with the first seven games coming from Blue Tea Games who is the original developer of the series. Although this game was completely developed by EIPIX, it is in my humble opinion one of the closest to the original series aside from The Little Mermaid and The Purple Tide. After a rash of very short games that have only three or four chapters I am finding this game to be quite long with six chapters plus the Bonus Game. I have played for several hours and still have quite a long way to go in the game.
As I played the game I was swept away by the touches that reminded me of what I loved in the original series. Although the HOPS might not have had the complete glitzy appeal of the originals they were close enough that I truly enjoyed them. The Puzzles are great and started off with a mechanical maze puzzle where you move the pieces by selecting arrows and moving a central bar. I found more HOPS early in the game than I did puzzles but I found both the HOPS and the Puzzles enjoyable and well done. I think the instructions for solving the Puzzles were a bit better in this game and it was easier to understand what needed to be done.
Since I don’t believe in giving away all of the details of the game I will only say that if you loved the original Blue Tea developed Dark Parables, then I think you should enjoy The Match Girl’s Lost Paradise. What EIPIX brings to the table with these games is a functionality that I found missing in the originals. I was never able to get the maps to work correctly even when I was told they would be “jump” type where I could immediately move to another location. I also find the storylines a bit more compelling.
If you happen to prefer the CE version of the game this one has morphing objects and collectible parables that are located in various scenes in the game. There are also the other goodies to be found that we all love in CEs such as Wallpapers, Concept Art, Achievements, Music, a Bonus Game, a Strategy Guide and we also get to replay HOPS and Puzzles.
In the past year or two I have fairly much lost interest in the Dark Parables series as I missed the beauty of the original games. That being said, I must say that EIPIX has done an excellent job with creating The Match Girl’s Lost Paradise. As always I recommend that you try the demo to see what you think about the game but I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. Happy gaming!
I recommend this game!

It is not necessary for me to go into a lot of detail on Cursed House 6 as my favorite reviewer, Pennmom, has already given you the complete rundown of what to expect. I’m not sure how I missed last year’s Cursed House 5 but because I think that Cursed House 6 is so terrific that I immediately purchased both games.
Match 3 games are a mixed bag at times but IMHO you can’t beat the Cursed House games during the Halloween season. Cursed House 6 is one of the absolutely best match 3 games ever. The thing that I love about these games is that one gets to use the brain rather than simply the mouse to make matches. Having to think about the best way to reach your level goal and to earn those coins is what makes the game fun for me. At first glance it might look easy to meet the level goal (and it is in the beginning) but one does need to stop and think about the best way to clear all of the obstacles and earn those coins.
Cursed House 6 is absolutely a game to be played not only at Halloween but all year long if you want to fun to keep you entertained and thinking. Kudos to the development team for creating a special treat for all match 3 fans. Happy gaming
I recommend this game!

Rescue Team 8 is a game that I have had so much fun playing! I am by no means an expert with TM games but several of the games in the genre have become the ones I immediately grab up when they appear, and Rescue Team is at the top of my list.
In Rescue Team 8 Pietro Mangula, a famous poacher, has stolen all of the animals and destroyed the reserve. Now you and your Rescue Team friends must go to work to save the animals, rescue people, and rebuild the reserve. Wow, even I could play this game and have had so much fun this morning doing it that it will be hard to pull myself away for those real-life tasks that need to be done.
If you are new to the TM genre and want a game that can be played in a relaxed mode as you learn how to play, then Rescue Team 8 is a game I think will fit the bill as you find out how much fun a TM game can be. Every time a new Rescue Team game is released I am right on it and know it is a game that will be a lot of fun. Not only will you need to rescue and restore as you play, you will also need to figure out the best strategy for accomplishing your goals. Although I play the game in the relaxed mode the first time through, the next time I am a bit braver and will select a different option for playing the game but no matter which option I select, I still have fun playing without the stress that I find in some TM games.
Rescue Team 8 is an excellent game and one I love but, as always, please try the demo to see if you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

Punished Talents Dark Knowledge is the long awaited third game in the series as the last one was developed over two years ago. Since I thought that both of the previous games were excellent, I knew this would be a game that I would enjoy. That being said, the rather gory opening scene put me off and I almost didn’t bother with the game, but I am happy that I decided to give it a try.
I found the game to be a great mystery and one that I enjoyed as I put together the clues to save my kidnapped brother and solve the murder that was committed to get my attention. For me at least the game was very entertaining since we don’t often have a good mystery game come our way here at BFG.
Although some might find the HOPS and Puzzles a bit old-school, I loved them. I happen to like HOS where I can identify the objects to be found particularly when they are not hidden in dark closets or corners where they are barely visible. Even though most of the scenes are the standard list type they don’t bother me at all. Sometimes I become tired of all the interactive scenes and long for a bit more simplicity where I can search for items without having to figure out what I must do before I find the one object I am trying to find. The Puzzles were not difficult and some are old favorites that I haven’t seen in a while.
Even though the game might seem old-school I still think it is an excellent game. I loved it when I had my “aha” moment in the game and figured out what to do with a wet dollar bill. It has been fun trying to determine my next move and what I needed to do to progress in the game. At least for me this is a great game and I encourage you to try the demo to see if it is a game you will enjoy as well. Happy gaming!
I recommend this game!

The game is based on the jack and the beanstalk tale. You play the game as Jackie Grant whose brother Edward is a very successful young botanist who has recently made an incredible discovery and he wants to share it with you. Edwards’s letter asks you to meet him in the town of Etherfall but when you arrive you are greeted with a disastrous scene and Edward is missing. As you begin your search for Edward and you meet Grace, you find that Edward by his discovery has unleashed a terrible fate for the Etherfall unless you can intervene. Off you go on a search not only for Edward but one for something more precious that just might save the town and its residents.
I love “The Fallen Sky” and if you are familiar with my reviews you might know that the Living Legends series is a favorite of mine. For me the Fallen Sky does not disappoint and I have had a long night of playing the game since it was released. As a child I loved my huge book of fairy tales and the story of Jack and the Beanstalk was one I loved. I guess I developed my love of fairy tales as my grandmother would always read one for me each night until I learned to read and then we would read them together. Now with the advent of computer games and some of the adaptations of those beloved stores that we receive here at BFG I can relive some of my fondest memories from childhood. The Fallen Sky is a game that can be shared by the family and one that will become a favorite as they play this retelling of the Jack and the Beanstalk tale.
The game offers four game settings to choose from when you begin. Since I don’t like a lot of help along the way I appreciate being able to turn off sparkles and helpful text. There is a helper in the game that lives right on the right side of your inventory area and he will help you in certain situations. Of course, you will need to play a puzzle each time he is used but it is fun and not difficult.
The HOPS are so much fun and my favorite is found early in the game as I searched for items in a baby hedgehog. In general the HOPS are familiar and nothing new but they are so creative and well-designed that they were, for me at least, some of the best things in the game.
Yes, I love puzzles and I found the ones in the Fallen Sky easy but very entertaining. Sometimes I skip puzzles when I play a game for the first time but I didn’t want to skip any in this game because they were fun to solve and fit well into the game’s storyline. Although many of the puzzles were easy there were several that I found a bit more challenging.
Living Legends: The Fallen Sky is a game that I highly recommend if you love a new spin on a favored fairy tale or if you happen to enjoy a well-crafted game. I found the game to be entertaining, at times humorous, and sometimes challenging. I enjoy a game that holds my attention and keeps me involved in the storyline as I play and the Fallen Sky fit the bill for me as I tried to find Edward and save the residents of Etherfall. Even though the Fallen Sky is the perfect game for me and the way I like to play but, as always, please try the demo to see if it is one you will enjoy as well. Happy gaming!

Haunted Manor Halloween’s Uninvited Guest is the 5th game in the series and is the 2nd game developed by EIPIX. At one time I could not wait until the next Haunted Manor game was released as the first ones were so terrific, but now they don’t hold the same appeal for me as they once did.
Technically, the game has all of the wonderful features that we expect from this developer but I found the graphics to be misty in appearance, lacking the same quality of the original games.
The storyline is one that has been done over and over and over so there is nothing new here except for the “window dressing.” The storyline would have been okay except that I am fairly well over the Halloween theme of every HOPA game since September. I guess that the old saying of “less is more” is true because the over-saturation of Halloween is a bit over the top for me.
I play HOPA games because I love hidden objects but what I dislike about finding those objects is when they are hidden in the dark and are extremely tiny as is the case with Halloween’s Uninvited Guest. I only got through the last HOS in the game by using the hint over and over and over again. It was tedious and grueling to say the least. Although the developer did make a stab at creativity with the design of the HOPS, the actual scenes were terrible.
With the exception of maybe two Puzzles in the demo I skipped most of them because I either disliked the type of puzzle or didn’t want to chew up demo time trying to solve them. That being said, the Puzzles were far better than the HOPS but still nothing new. We have the “fight” scene with different window dressing but it is still the type of puzzle that I dislike. I think my favorite puzzle in the demo is the one where we need to change the pressure on gauges to move a ball to the end of a maze.
If you have read some of my earlier reviews you know that I own almost every CE game released by BFG. However, in the past year I have skipped several of the CE releases because I have disliked the games. Unfortunately, many of those games are from this development studio that I once considered my favorite. Games from EIPIX no longer enchant me and quite frankly I find them rather boring. Their HOS have been designed with the idea that making the objects invisible will make a HOS seem more difficult which is true but it also makes them far less enjoyable in the end. With all of the Halloween themed games that we have seen this past six weeks, Halloweens Uninvited Guest is at the bottom of the barrel and is not for me. As always I recommend that you try the demo to see if this is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

Rainbow Mosaics: Garden Helper is the ninth game in the Rainbow Mosaic series and it proves how many of us love this type of puzzle game. Personally, I can never get enough of the Rainbow Mosaics, or its cousins the little penguins fantasy game. Whenever I open my browser and see a great game like Rainbow Mosaics it is a “must have” for me and I am a happy camper.
Others will go into all of the details so I am only going to tell you that all of the puzzles are terrific. Another reviewer pointed out a feature that I love in these games and it is that each picture is labeled so I don’t need to try to figure out what it is. I too enjoy the variety of tile styles offered and for me the favorite style is the glossy roundish one. However, no matter which type of tile I select each puzzle is entertaining to solve.
If you are new to solving this type of puzzle, the in-game tutorial is there to guide you as you begin. You might find that you happen to love the nanogram or mosaic type puzzle games. As always, please try the demo. Happy gaming!

I LOVE mosaic games and own all of the Travel Mosaics by Jet Dogs. “Adventures in Rio” is the 4th game in the series and, IMHO, all have been excellent. I do have to agree with another reviewer who mentions those BIG black dots that fill the spaces on the grids where a colored tile is not placed. I too wish those dots were smaller and perhaps lighter in color. Because those black dots make the grid so busy, I find that I can only play a few levels before my eyes begin to bother me. So PLEASE Jet Dogs listen to your fans and change that dot style if possible.
This time our adventure loving family is visiting the beautiful city of Rio and taking in the sights and sounds. A wonderful adventure awaits all of us as we fill in squares and see the colorful patterns that develop. I love the tile options in the game and the beautiful array of colors. I haven’t bothered to change the tile set as I find the Bubble Look tiles perfect with their glossy appearance. Something that I appreciate with Travel Mosaics is that they are not always easy and it takes a bit more thought when deciding where to place a tile. Even while completing some of the first boards in the demo, I had to restart one board three before I got it right – lol.
I’m not going to go into detail on the game as other reviewers do that quite well. I will only say that of all the mosaic games we have available here at BFG, the Travel Mosaics are right up at the top of my list of favorite games. Although I love these little gems, please try the demo to see if Travel Mosaics Adventures in Rio is a game you will enjoy. Happy gaming!

You play The Legacy: The Tree of Might as Diana our portal traveling heroine. What an adventure lies ahead for Diana as she travels through the portals to different worlds in search of a cure for an epidemic that has been unleashed on earth. Will you be able to save the day in this absolutely fabulous game?
When I started the game I was a bit put off as the action seemed to be a bit slow. As I dragged through the demo trying to find bits and pieces I thought the game was a bit of a yawn-fest but then something changed and I found myself so involved in the game that the time flew by. I have always loved games from Five-BN Games because they offer so much to do and have excellent storylines. When I see their name on a game I know it will be one that I add to my gaming library – usually before I even play the demo. The Legacy the Tree of Might is one of those games that is destined to become a favorite as it has a surprise storyline. One of the very first games from this developer started my love affair with their games and I have never yet been disappointed.
The HOPS are so creative and offer the silhouette interactive style scenes that are signature with Five-BN Games. Silhouette scenes are not my favorite but this developer does them so well that I find them enjoyable.
If you enjoy puzzles then you will most certainly enjoy this game since there are a lot of them and most are more challenging than the easy-peasy ones we find in most HOPA games. One of the very first puzzles in the game had me scratching my head as I tried to figure out what moves I needed to make to get through a maze. That one was a lot of fun!
Trust me; this game is so different than what you see in the early scenes. It changes into one of the best games I’ve played in ages. Not only is the game excellent, it is one that if full of twists and turns. Diana is in for the adventure of a lifetime in The Tree of Might. Okay, even though I am gushing about this game and love it, please try the demo to see if it is one that might be a keeper for you as well. Happy gaming!
I recommend this game!
