Get ready for an exciting new Hidden Expedition as you discover the secret that Dr. Schumann fpomd24 years ago. As a top H.E.L.P. agent you will work with Sam to uncover the mystery of Dr. Schumann’s work. Things really get off to a bang in Midgard’s End as the bullets start flying and there is a theft at SAGA headquarters where Dr. Schumann’s daughter, Helen, is giving a lecture to a group of future H.E.L.P. agents. Trek across Europe and Scandinavia as you play this wonderful and exciting new Hidden Expedition that will at times leave you holding your breath and at others solving challenging puzzles and searching for hidden objects that will help you in your adventure.
Of course with the game coming to us from one of the best casual game developers you know the graphics, sound and other technical aspects will be top-notch. The game has a custom mode of that allows you to tinker with various options to set the gameplay just the way you want. Hints recharge in a range of 10 – 120 and mini-game skips in a range of 10 – 400 seconds.
You have an interactive map that is present at the beginning of the game. You also have the H.E.L.P. toolbox where you can find your objectives and store information.
The HOPS are well-crafted and at least one of them seems new in style. The HOPS seem much better than in the past and I found them quite enjoyable. The mini-games are excellent and not as easy as they appear at first glance. Some of the mini-games are this devs favorites such as placing queens on a board so that they are safe from attack by other queens. I found some of the mini-games to be more difficult than usual so at least this developer has heard the call for more difficulty in their HOPA games. With great HOPS and terrific mini-games Midgard’s End is a worthy entry for the Hidden Expedition series.

The CE version offers the following extras: 43 collectible Thor’s Hammers hidden throughout the game, 20 interesting H.E.L.P. cards are found in some scenes, and 15 morphing objects can be found. There are also achievements to earn. The other extras include replay of mini-games and HOP scenes, a Souvenir Room, Concept Art, Wallpapers, Strategy Guide and the Bonus Game.
IMHO, this is one of the best Hidden Expedition games and it is probably one of the best games I have played in several months. The game is exciting and gets of to a fast-paced beginning and holds the momentum as I played through the demo and beyond. After playing the game’s beta release, I have been waiting for it to hit the BFG market. Now that it is here, it is an instant buy for me. I love this game and as I mentioned above think it is one of the best Hidden Expedition games ever. As always, I recommend that you at least try the demo to see if this is a game you will like.
I recommend this game!

Wow, what an amazing game that has now raised the bar for any future games in the Haunted Hotel series. I loved the beta for this game and have been eagerly awaiting its release and now it is finally here!
Everything about this game is almost perfect with excellent graphics, top-notch voiceovers, and a great storyline that grabbed me from the beginning. There are interesting and varied HOPS, and fairly challenging puzzles as well to keep things interesting. Just when I was beginning to burn out on HOPA games there is now an exciting game that is geared to the adults who are interested in more than cutesy fairies and princesses. Here is a gritty game with a mature theme and some ghostly scares.
It is a dark and snowy night as you are traveling a road in the state of Washington on your way to visit the Axiom Hotel. You are stopped along the way by a patrolman whose car has spun out on the road so you give him a lift to the hotel since that is his destination as well. No sooner do you arrive than things begin to happen that will test your investigative skill. The game has a cast of interesting characters one of which might be a copycat serial killer.

Pull out all the stops as you solve interesting mini-games, search for clues in varied HOPS and hopefully find out whom or what is killing the guests at the Axiom Hotel. The mini-games are quite good with some even challenging. I am not going to give you all the spoilers and details since it really is more fun to find out what they entail by playing the game for yourself.
There was no way I was going to be able to wait another month for the SE release of this game so I purchased the CE before even bothering to download the demo. I loved every minute of the beta and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this game. There are some creepy and downright scary moments that come together to create what I consider one of the best games this year. The game might not be for everyone so please try the demo to make sure this is a game you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

On a vacation to Scotland to search out your ancestral home and roots you definitely find more about your family than you ever thought possible as you are hurled almost 250 years back in time to save the Heartfell’s when enter into a past where one day in time repeats over and over again waiting for someone to break the Chimera Spell. You must save Elizabeth from her fate and become “the one that will save us all” in this wonderful fantasy tale. A word of warning – this game starts out a bit slow with all sorts of idiotic tasks that you must fulfill before you get to the heart of the story. When I first played the beta for the game I gave up within ten minutes of starting the game because I was so disappointed with what appeared to be a nonsensical, idiotic game that in no way deserved the Chimeras title. Well, after putting some distance between my first feelings about the game I decided to give it another go, which is when I began to see a different story emerging. Yes, I still needed to wade through what I considered some irritating and mundane tasks before I began to see the real gem beneath the surface and I am happy I kept moving forward. I urge you to look beyond the beginning scenes and play with an open mind since Lost and Forgotten develops into an excellent game.
Although the graphics are nothing like those in the original Chimeras game they are still excellent. I love the most of the background music that at some times is a lively jig. However the music that borrows from another game from this developer, Unfinished Tales – Illicit Love, seems a bit out of place in this game. For the most part the voiceovers are good except I didn’t care for William’s attempt at a Scottish brogue. The custom mode is included and the hints and skips recharge in a range of 15 to 90 seconds. You have an interactive map that is present at the beginning of the game.
The HOPS are very typical with minimal interaction and mostly the standard list type (my favorite). The HOPS are good with most items easy to find but I did need to use the dreaded hint button to find two objects in the first HOP since those items were hidden in dark shadows and were very difficult to see. The mini-games were on the easy side but still entertaining. There were none that gave me brain strain but they were fun and that is what counts. I am sure there will be one or two minis later in the game that I might skip because that generally happens, at least the first time I play through a game.
The CE version of the game has lots of extra goodies including a Secret Room. Throughout the game you will find puzzle pieces that create three different puzzles. There are also Tarot cards to be found as well as morphing objects. If you love achievements you can earn those as you play through the game. The other extras are the standard fare including the bonus chapter and strategy guide.
Although I almost passed on this Chimeras game I am so glad I gave it a second look. By the time I got to the end of the demo I knew this would be an excellent game, and it is. I know the Lost and Forgotten doesn’t seem to fit in with the other games in the Chimeras series and that is what initially put me off. If you can make it through the silly tasks in the beginning you will most likely agree that this is a terrific game. Even though I love this game, please try the demo to see if it is a game you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

Let me begin by saying that I am not a huge fan of TM games. I just don’t see the point of running to complete tasks that are repetitive over and over and over yet again. That being said, if you love the TM genre and particularly the Delicious Emily games then exploring Fabulous Angela’s Fashion Boutique might just be perfect to fulfill your gaming passion.
The graphics are terrific and crisp and the story is told in a humorous way made me let loose of more than a few giggles. The gameplay is basically the same as always, find this and do that until you complete the level’s goal. Since I am not a whiz at TM games, I felt like a klutz trying to run hither and yon to wait on each and every customer who walked through the boutique’s doors. I find the pace of these games just a bit too fast for me but I can see where many gamers would just thrive on the quickness required for playing TM games.
Even though I most likely won’t be standing in line to purchase this game, I think it is definitely a 5-star TM game. I am sure those of you who love the genre and the Delicious Emily series will thoroughly enjoy Fabulous Angela’s Fashion Boutique! As always, please try the demo first to see if helping Fabulous Angela start her fashion business is a challenge you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

Cursed House 3 is an awesomely good Match 3 games that reminds me of a great one that came out last Halloween. I loved that game and now (a bit early for our spooky season) comes this latest edition of the Cursed House games. I must admit that I didn’t care for the original but this one is so much better.
As we play the game our goal is to get rid of all cursed items that have made this house a haven for all sorts of creepy things. You can do this by selecting one of three gameplay modes but my preference is always the relaxed mode when that option is available. Beware, uncursing this house is not going to be easy. The levels become progressively difficult with each on building on the previous. The object of each level is to collect coins where fragments of the Amulet of the Eye have been hidden. Once the amulet has been filled then portions of the house will be uncursed. A seemingly easy task that becomes more difficult with each level. Although this game has some things that I don’t care for such as the stone walls on either side of the screen rather than a full or stretched screen option.
Overall, Cursed House 3 is a fun match 3 game for those of you who enjoy the genre. I know I am certainly having fun as I spend my morning playing instead of accomplishing my other daily tasks. Even though I like this match 3 game, please try the demo to see if it is one you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

Amaranthine Voyage Winter Neverending is game number six of the series and I keep holding out hope that maybe, just maybe this time they will get it right and offer a game that is worthy. Well, I don’t think that Winter Neverending is that game. Eve Glover is back and for a top-notch scientist she seems quite clueless. On the trail of the latest distress signal, Dr. Glover crosses the portal and arrives in a wintry vista that presents a chilly challenge for her latest foray into other worlds.
The HOPs are varied and many are interactive. The mini-games are very good and some were a bit challenging for me. Between the excellent HOPS and the mini-games I found the game to be quite entertaining and one that took me two days to complete. The developer has made an effort to bring some new twists to this game and it is appreciated by this HOPA addict.
The storyline seems to be loosely based on a 1970s sci-fi film that I loved but as much as loved that film there is not really much about the game that is the captured my interest at least in the beginning. Although the game starts slow and seems very boring it does pick up and the storyline is interesting. Once I purchased the game and started playing, I regretted leaving an almost scathing review when the CE was released. The developer has jumped in and has made an effort to bring a really good sci-fi game to market. If you passed on the CE version of the game I recommend that you try Amaranthine Voyage Winter Neverending as it might be a game you will really enjoy.
I recommend this game!

Our time-traveling heroine of the Griffin Order, Sarah Pennington, is back in this third installment of The Secret Order series. After her recent missions to travel back in time to stop the Order’s arch enemy the Dragon Clan from wreaking havoc, the Order decided to ban all time travel and to destroy all time-travel machines. Now, Sarah is looking forward to a well-deserved vacation but before she can even dream of relaxing on sunny beaches, her BFF Julie calls with some very exciting news. When Sarah and Julie were in high school they were obsessed with stories of the Buried Kingdom and now, after years of research, Julie thinks she has finally found it. Sharing Julie’s excitement, you decide to pay her a visit and that is when you discover that you and Julie are not the only ones interested in the Buried Kingdom. On your way to Julie’s home your call with her is interrupted as you witness her kidnap. Will you arrive in time to save Julie? As you plunge into the depths of this new mystery and work to save Julie, you begin to think that maybe the Order’s move to destroy the time machines might have been a bit too hasty.
The game tools include an interactive transporter type map is present at the beginning of the game. You will find Julie’s Amulet, a magical dragon eye, that when charged with energy will allow you to see visions of past events. Then there is Droi, a little dragon who can use his fiery breath to light fires and help you retrieve items that are out of reach. I don’t mind pet helpers as much as some gamers but there was a time when they showed up in every game and that did become a bit much. Of course being a huge fan of dragons, I am quite happy to have my purple little friend tag along as I play.
The HOPS are varied and include the storybook type where you must find the item that is capitalized, the progressive-interactive type where you find one item and use it somewhere else until you eventually complete the scene, the standard list type and even a FROG thrown in for good measure. The mini-games were not too difficult but there was one during the demo that took a bit of time to figure out. Even though there was nothing really different or too earth shaking in either the puzzles or the mini-games, I still found them very enjoyable. In the HOPS the items were not so well hidden that I couldn’t find them nor were any of the mini-games so difficult that they were frustrating.
The extra content in the CE version of the game includes the following:
34 Collectible Dragon Eggs in sets of purple, blue, green, and
28 Morphing Objects
24 Achievements to earn
Music
Video
HOP and Mini-Game Replay
Pictures
I LOVE this game! Yes, it is not a mind-blowing challenge but I don’t always need that. What I like is that the gameplay is entertaining and the storyline is very good. The excellent and colorful graphics create a wonderful fantasy world with interesting characters (some not so nice) and, of course, there are dragons. I found myself so involved in the game that when the demo ended, I wanted to keep playing. Even though The Buried Kingdom is my kind of game, please try the demo to see if it is one you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

If you are a fan of Greek mythology you are sure to be captured by this latest game in the Dark Romance series. Although the developers have taken a great deal of creative license in Kingdom of Death it still will appeal to those who love these ancient myths. As in the previous games we have the unique feature of playing both of the star-crossed lovers. Will true love overcome the power struggle between Zeus and his brothers – Poseidon and Hades? Play this terrific game as you encounter other fantastic creatures from mythology.
The game does offer the custom setting, which is the one I normally select if it is available. Even on custom the lowest recharge time for hints and skips is a bit high but that is only my opinion. The graphics are excellent as are the voiceovers. I am very impressed by the realistic characters and love the richness of the overall graphics.

Your tools include an interactive, transporter type map as well as a scroll that includes your current tasks. I didn’t come across anything that appears to be a gimmick but even if there is one included, I am sure it will fit well with the storyline.
The HOPS are varied, interactive and interesting but if you don’t like completing the HOP scenes you have an alternate match-3 type game. As you play through the game, keep your eyes open and look at everything because you never know when you will find a power-up that will help you with the match-3 option. I am really very impressed by all of the extra little touches the developer has added to Kingdom of Death that make it very entertaining. I have played so many HOPA games over the past ten years that when I find something new and unexpected it is very refreshing and revives my interest in the HOPA genre of games. Kudos to this development team for taking the time to create a game with so many extra touches and little surprises. There is not a lot to say about the mini-games because there doesn’t seem to be anything new but they are still enjoyable. As is the case in most games, I suspect the mini-games will increase in difficulty as the game progresses.
What a surprising and excellent game that caught me off-guard because I really didn’t think I would like this one as much as I do. The last game in the series was not nearly as entertaining so I didn’t expect that I would care for Kingdom of Death but as a lifetime fan of Greek mythology, this game is just perfect for me even though does take a lot of liberties with the myths. If you are a romantic at heart and enjoy a good love story then Dark Romance Kingdom of Death might be the perfect game for you. I would like to thank BFG and the developers who did an amazing job in creating this game. Although I love this game and purchased it almost immediately, please try the demo to see if this is a game you will like

Your first day on the job could turn out to be a brutal one – at least this is what it seems like. In this newest game in the Grim Façade series you are the new detective in town and have been tasked with investigating the latest murder in a recent string of killings perpetrated supposedly by someone dubbed as Bloody Stanley. A local man has been convicted of the murders but he’s on death row awaiting execution and the police captain is beginning to wonder if they have the wrong man in custody. Jump into this new Grim Façade to find the killer and help save an innocent man from meeting an untimely end.
Everything about this five-star game is top quality from the graphics to the sound package. One thing I like is that in the custom level the hint and skip buttons work independently.
As with the other Grim Façade games you will find coins to be used to purchase needed items from the local street vendor. Dare I even mention the word pet helper? Even though he isn’t the traditional pet helper, that scraggly cat with attitude – Death – is back and, in this case, he is a welcome addition to the game.
From what I see in the demo the HOPS are excellent, varied, and interactive. IMHO, these are some of the best HOPS from this developer who seems to have recaptured some of the creativity that once had it as the leader in casual games. The enjoyed the first HOP that is interactive and quite a bit of fun. The mini-games are excellent and some of them required a bit of thought to solve. My favorite is the very first mini that involves placing varied shaped tokens into a panel according to shape. It is not difficult but it is tricky as you can easily get stuck. All in all I am impressed by both the HOPS and the mini-games.
The CE version of the game contains the following:
Find Collectible coins scattered randomly in various scenes. These are not the same as the coins we use to purchase items from the merchant or for travel.
Achievements for those who love earning them.
Bonus Chapter
Strategy Guide
Replay of HOPS and mini-games
Videos
Music
Wallpapers
Concept Art
Screensavers
I LOVE this game and purchased it almost immediately. The storyline is interesting and before the demo ended I had seen enough to know that this is one of the best in the Grim Façade series. Even though I am not a “cat person” there is something about the scraggy and beat-up feline that I think a great addition to the game. Even though I love this game, please try the demo to see if it is a game you will enjoy.
I recommend this game!

Fantasy Mosaics 15 is here and, at least for me, they can’t seem to get these games out fast enough. The mosaics or griddler games are among my favorite and most often they are my go to games to fill in the time between HOPA releases. The Fantasy Mosaics series are the gold standard with graphics and sound that are superior to any of the others in this genre.
Most of the other reviewers have said it all so I don’t need to go into the details but I love the new game mechanics that came out with Fantasy Mosaics 14 where we now have four colors that bumped up the level of challenge.
Fantastic is the word that comes to mind and best describes Fantasy Mosaics. I will keep playing them as long as the dev keeps them coming my way. No one does them better although some of the recent griddler games are coming closer to the gold standard set by Fantasy Mosaics.
Love, love, love the penguins and all the hours of fun I have getting to know them and their environments. Somehow, I think five-stars are just not enough!!
