I played about 5 levels and deleted the trial. Bell ringing was annoying, can't turn down the music, no choice of difficulty, characters unlikable, plot - if there was one it was forgettable.

I'm usually a bit hesitant about stand alone SE games but this one was brilliant. Yes, the story has been done before, but the puzzles, the HOPs, the hidden extras throughout the game and the nice length all made this a worthwhile buy (even though I used a free game code). I would love to see more in this series.
I have not been terribly impressed with a lot of the sequels lately, but I decided to buy this game almost immediately. The story line is similar to other "living book" games I've played, but this game had different feel to it. The plot has been reviewed by others, so I won't rehash. Great music except for one scene in the bonus game which sounds like elevator music Visuals from a variety of different worlds were beautiful Interesting games with just the right level of challenge Nice variety of HOPs, including morphing objects Collectibles not too hard to find with a chance to go back after the bonus chapter Bonus chapter worth playing and made sense

Interesting premise. I won't get into story line because that's been done already but I did enjoy the fictional characters. The graphics were nice, the puzzles were interesting, the voice overs were well done. I did figure out who the villain was right way, but that seems to happen in every game I play lately. Too much real crime TV?

The Good: Interesting Chinese history/background Puzzles not too bad Sam The Bad: Figured out who the (exceptionally annoying) villain was in the first ten minutes. If I'm such a great agent, why don't we frisk people and do background checks? And if I get called a carp one more time, I'm going to scream. Map - why so complicated? Unnecessary remarks from annoying villain. Did I mention how much I hate being called a carp? I may purchase if I get a really great deal or use a free game on the SE. And I turn the voices off.

Okay, yes - we've all been here. Secret society battles evil. Literary characters turning up all over the place. But I enjoy a good twist on a old theme and this is definitely it. Interesting storyline with a hint of more to come. The graphics were very atmospheric, loved Chinese Alice, games were fun without causing me to pull my hair out, no slider puzzles (thank you,) fun HOPs, and a good bonus game. The extras were good and the items found for the souvenir room made sense.
I recommend this game!

I had a kind of love-hate relationship with this game. For the most part, I really enjoyed it. The story line was interesting, the graphics and voice-overs were good, the puzzles and HOPs were interesting and had just enough challenge. Even the bonus game was good and lengthy.
However, there a couple of annoying things. The map could not show both your location and something to do at the same spot. I had to jump to other spots to figure out if I was in the right location. Plus, I'm still not sure who the killer was.

I am having a lot of fun with this game. There are different levels of play, which is good. Levels are challenging enough and game play is intuitive and works well with my touchscreen. I have 2 negative comments - the game is rather short and you have to exit, select play, and jump through a couple of other hoops to get to the map. Unless you use the map, there is no option to replay a level unless you quit before time runs out. Since I got the game for free, I can live with that, but it is slightly annoying.

This is a really good addition to the series. I liked how it tied into all the other Dark Dimension games. I thought it was dark, but not as gory as some other games I've played. The HOPs were interesting and varied. The puzzles were fun until I got to the slider puzzle. I hate slider puzzles. The bonus game could have been a bit longer, but it tied into the main game very nicely and even answered some questions.
I recommend this game!

After the introduction, I wasn't sure I wanted this game, since the main characters were too pretty. However, after playing the demo, I was hooked. Great story line with a satisfying ending. Loved the bright fantastical graphics, especially after playing some pretty dark games. The bonus game was cute and connected very well to the main game. The map feature was very helpful. The voices were pleasant and the puzzles were an interesting mix. Wish there was just a bit more bonus content.
