Review based on the completed game in TIMED mode. I didn't lose any level, but many were a close call (the hourglass started beeping at the 1-minute left alert!)
BABYLONIA is very similar in concept to the JEWEL MATCH games: it's a swap-type match 3 game, which consists on 150 levels; if you complete the rebuild of the 7 temples needing fewer levels, the remainder will consist of "bonus levels", where you don't have anything left to rebuild.
You get to create a garden for each temple based on a variety of "plants", and Ishtar will reward you with gold coins or "build" resources if you maintain it well; if you don't, she will destroy part of the temple as her way of wasting some of the money you spent.
They are various power-ups to help you thru your journey, and I found some much more helpful than others. The music gets repetitive fairly quickly, but the game mechanics are great... no need to wait for tiles to fall.
For those who enjoyed the "Jewel Match" games, this game will look and feel very, very similar, with very large tiles and easy-to-differentiate jewels.
I used Windows 10 to play this game, and only had some issues with static in the sound... not in the gameplay itself.
I recommend this game!

Review based on the completed game.
"Awakening: The Dreamless Castle" was only released as a standard edition, and when I completed the game after 3 hours (no hints, no skipping dialogues or minigames), I was sad to see it end. I didn't rush through it... I never do so I can take it "all in" and go with the flow of the story. The music is also quite nice and relaxing.
The graphics are colourful and somewhat pastel-looking; the story evolves logically, both thru the use of clear HO scenes and somewhat easy minigames. As a "bonus" once the game is over, you can play 25 more levels of "goblinjong" that are all fairly easy though many require a bit of thinking and are not simply a clickfest..
On the minus side:
- there is no map: you go through the locations in a fairly linear fashion, with very little back and forth... mostly forward;
- there is very little help outside the HO scenes, and the minigame instructions could be better; the journal is helpful;
- there is little deviation allowed from the intended series of actions: certain objects/tasks are only "available" once their "trigger" action has been executed; so do your best to complete a scene before moving to the next one otherwise you can get slightly frustrated.
Most "quests" consists of finding multiples of an object and other than the core quests (6 runes, 6 lenses/discs, 3 coins), they are generally ALL found within the active scene... sometimes well hidden. Thankfully (for me), no fragmented objects.
Overall, an enjoyable game from 2011; I had no issues with sounds or graphics on my Windows 10 PC.
Try it for 15 minutes: it will give you a good sample of the overall experience.
Now I'm moving on to the next installment: "Moonfell Wood".
I recommend this game!

Review based on completed game (CE) in "Easy" mode (which also means easier mini-games!?!)
This game deserves all the great reviews it has received. The main game (6 chapters) took me 7 hours and the bonus chapter (epilogue) almost 2 hours; that's with NO dialogue skips, no HO hints, 1 minigame skip in Chapter 5 after spending 20 minutes on trying to recreate the pattern of tiles.
I found the voice-acting of the male characters (Dracula, helper Igor and nemesis Van Helsing) to be excellent; it's not easy to play Igor and NOT sound too over the top.
The graphics are fantastic, the HO scenes very clean, and the mini-games varied in style and difficulty: despite playing in "easy" mode, I found some to be challenging. The story of rescuing Mina is at the forefront, and the tasks during the game are logical towards achieving the objective; the objects you pick up are useful, and the map is very helpful.
At the conclusion of the bonus chapter, you'll unlock 4 music soundtracks, 4 videoclips, 44 minigames and 32 HO scenes (contents of these randomly change). A few of the minigames took me around 15 minutes as they can be tricky (the last one, using tokens to be matched... but with a twist, comes to mind.)
There are a few different endings, depending on some of the choices you make.
I can't find anything bad about the game (besides Dracula pronouncing "scepter" as "skepter".) There are many things I could add, but I don't want to spoil some of the game features that are very creative.
I will DEFINITELY replay this as it worked fine for me using Windows 10.
I recommend this game!

Review based on the trial.
I own the first installment "Pixel Art"; I've spent dozens of hours completing it, and we find pretty much the same concept here: "paint by numbers".
There are things I LOVE about the mechanics of this game:
1) you don't need to click each cell: like in nonogram boards, you can hold and drag the mouse to keep coloring with the same colour… so thankfully NOT a clickfest!
2) If you drag over an empty cell using the wrong color, the cell will get filled but with a transparent version: you know you'll need to revisit with the proper color (the cell will then have the opaque color)
3) if a cell is already properly filled, you can drag the colour you hold on top of that cell without messing up; this avoids having to skip over those previous filled cells
4) double-clicking will fill the ADJACENT cells of the same colour, not all the cells of that colour on the board (like another reviewer said, it will need to recharge!) This will become less helpful as the board complicates...
You can stop your board anytime and your progress will be saved; you'll resume where you stopped (including your leftover mistakes); this allows you to play the game in small installments, without having to complete a board in a single session (in the first game, some took me more than 1 hour!)
Try it: it's not difficult and quite zen actually. I find it hard to stop (come on, just a few more cells !!!)
I recommend this game!

Review based on complete game in "STORY" mode (there is also a "RELAXED" mode with no timer.)
First things first: this is the "sequel" to the 1st game, and has a LOT of features added to it: 5 divers to choose from at every level, a bunch of upgrades in 3 different stores, 3 locations to play optional mini-HO games to earn extra cash, a board you can rotate, etc.
The game has 161 "normal" levels; once level 160 is completed, it will unlock 59 "extra" levels, for a total of 220; if you recover the minimum number of artifacts on your dive, the diver used gains experience points which will improve their particular skills.
I loved the first installment and found this game to be slightly more complicated (and challenging) at first, but the "secret" lies in choosing the best diver for the job. On my first cycle, I tried to balance the experience of all divers; on my 2nd cycle, I focused on using mostly the female divers, and maximizing a few things: the largest chest ASAP, and the reduction of delay in being able to rotate the board: this became crucial about halfway in the game, while I didn't use the stuff I purchased for my diving belt. Check out the resources of a level, and keep an eye on matching the tiles for recharging your skills (especially the "breaking" and "oxygen tank" ones).
Try it for yourself; I liked the storyline (there's a journal) and the mechanics work great, even using Windows 10! Plenty hours of fun!
I recommend this game!

Review based on completed game in a little more than 4 hours (no skipping mini-games or dialogues.)
Let me begin by saying that this game, despite its age, still feels current: the graphics are great, the voice-overs are well done despite the lack of animation, the music appropriate to add tension without feeling "over the top".
The HO scenes (all lists) are well crafted, with enough difficulty to make them interesting. I didn't find the mini-games to be too difficult, but the lack of instructions/objective will often cause you to think about what needs to be done. I didn't skip any.
I found the help system unusual overall and quite original: more like a "clues" approach.
The storyline develops nicely revolving around curses: you'll have to gather "elements" (listed in your book of spells, with checkmarks once found), either in HO scenes or in the locations you visit. There is no map, but I don't think any is needed.
I played it on my Windows 10 PC without a glitch, but the game takes about 45 seconds to load: I'm not sure what is happening in the background, but it succeeded every time.
I suggest you try it for 10-15 minutes: you'll get a true feel for the game in order to guide your purchasing decision in that period of time.
I recommend this game!

Review based on 25 minutes of trial only.
I wish all devs would make the effort to proofreading their work: the "guardian" from the other island we meet in the beginning introduces herself as "Eva", but the nameplate under her picture said "Eve"; I also encountered a grammatical error very early in the tutorial when the intent was to use the word "then" but it used "than" instead. Let's focus on the gameplay.
As far as I know, this is the 3rd installment of Crio's "Farm Tribe" series, the previous one going back to 2012. I like the bright and colourful graphics... the sounds and music: not so much. The tutorial is clear and lengthy, and those familiar with farming games will recognize standard tasks: buy land, seeds, barn, trees, animals, wells, etc. and make sure you gather various workers to take care of them (plant seeds, harvest, water, store, sell, etc.) I didn't encounter anything new, and the surface you interact with is quite large. I hope there's something more original later on.
Obstacles/trouble are introduced to interfere with the ease of doing all that as to create some challenge.
I don't particularly like "click-and-drag" mechanics: I prefer grabbing the resource by clicking on it (so it sticks to my mouse pointer) and then clicking on the target; keeping the button depressed while moving the mouse is a deal-breaker for me... my dexterity isn't what it used to be. The shopping cart interface is fairly typical for the genre (click the button, choose the category/tab you want, click the item you're looking for) but once again, it's a click-and-drag interface; if you want to buy multiples, you have to repeat the click-and-drag for every unit. I prefer some of the other games where you click once on the resource, then simply click on the multiple destinations to repeat the action until you "release" the resource
I suggest you try it to get a sense of the graphics, but also the interface. I recommend for those who do not mind a click-and-drag methodology. It seems to be a "classic" farming game, but that's only a preliminary impression as I did not complete the game. It showed promise.
I recommend this game!

Review based on completed game in "casual" mode using Windows 10.
It took me about 4 and a half hours to complete the game. I liked the fact that there were a lot of HO scenes; many of them are repeated twice over time but you're looking for different things. I found the objects well drawn but you have to look carefully at the scene. The mini games are relevant, somewhat original, typically straightforward and fun (not tedious or overly simplistic).
This is not a Collector's Edition, so there are NO extras (collectibles, morphing objects, strategy guide, etc.) No map either, but none is needed and there isn't too much back and forth compared to some other games.
The storyline is interesting, not overly complicated, but needs to be read: there are no voice-overs, which I typically like because you can read at your own pace and can't criticize the often awful voices.
The transition/cut scenes are drawn and NOT truly animated, showing the game's age.
I suggest you download the trial to get a sense of the graphics; I thought they were adequate but not spectacular.
I recommend this game!

Review based on 50 minutes of the trial period.
Perhaps I'm biased as I own the previous 3 installments. I agree with another reviewer that said the colours are better; I still wish we had a few options to choose the tile pattern.
One feature I LOVE is the fact that you can toggle between seeing all the layers or only the layer you're working on: this eliminates confusion between colors that are similar because you can work on 1 color without seeing the resolved tiles of other colors (any unveiled tile of another color shows "blocked" instead of its color). FANTASTIC.
This will be another buy for me!
I recommend this game!

Review based on completed game.
This swap-type Match 3 game has only 1 "mode": a meter for the amount of oxygen you (a diver) have left... there is no un-timed/relaxed mode, but I have to admit it's not that hard; just enough for a slight challenge.
The game has 111 levels, and once you've completed those, you get a bonus 20 levels for a total of 131 levels.
The core object of the game is to "drop" 1 (or more) "items" to the bottom of the board. You need strategy to achieve that, and the power-ups are of IMMENSE help.
Some advice: the first things to buy are the larger chests: this will allow you to amass money faster and therefore give you more buying power in the "shop". I tried all the various "tools", but I found the essential one is the double oxygen tank, which gives you bonus oxygen should you need it.
The "boosters" are interesting and get recharged when you make the required matches of the resource. Don't hesitate to use them as they recharge fairly quickly; I mostly used the "octopus" (break 1 tile or 1 chain), the jellyfish (swap 2 "free" tiles) and the puffer fish (get bonus oxygen).
It's a fun game, with good graphics (tiles are large and easy to differentiate), and the right level of challenge to enjoy without being too easy. There's a simple storyline, which you can read or skip.
I played the game using Windows 10 with no problem.
PS: Once you finish the game, you will restart at level 1 BUT keep your money and what you have in your "belt"; you can of course use a different profile to restart from scratch!
I recommend this game!
