Not a bad game if your new to this genre and want your hand held.
No real challenge at all.
Felt it was aimed more at children.
Graphics were nice, and the storyline ok. I finished it but it was immediately forgettable.
Not really what I expect from a CE.
The HOPs were no challenge either, but were nicely done.
Think this game a bit like 'Marmite'...you'll either love it or hate.
I recommend this game!

This game was just beautifully put together. No spooky stuff, just a fairy tale of sorts.
The hint system was excellent, and I never needed the SG. You can customise your game mode, which is always an added bonus.
Graphics were spectacular, the music was pleasant and the whole game including bonus took me 4 1/2 to 5 hours with some puzzle skips.
The HOS were the best I've ever seen, and I actually looked forwards to them. You could choose a mini game instead, but I didn't try this option as enjoyed the HOS too much. The puzzles were also beautifully crafted, and even if I decided to skip them I enjoyed playing each one until I was stumped. Unusually the puzzles had the option of casual or hard on the puzzle screen.
A lot of work went into this game, and unlike so many it wasn't stuffed with junk pile HOS, and the bonus chapter was a reasonable length and worth the extra CE price.
Wish there were more games like this one. Not often I play until the end, and was kept entertained until the very last cut scene. Cut scenes were amazing. I usually skip them, but not in this game!
I recommend this game!

Have all the games in this series by these devs, and as time goes by, the levels get more and more difficult.
I agree with other reviewers regarding the sand. If you could move whilst tiles are falling, then it wouldn't be so bad. But you can't so it's frustrating. Even though I'm playing relaxed mode, it's still an annoyance.
I wrote to the devs last year, requesting they include a 'zen' mode, AND make it possible to make moves whilst tiles are falling.
I've finished all the other games in this series, and welcomed a new edition to 'the family'! I've bought the others on my iPad as well as on the PC.as I like them so much. Even in timed mode you can clear the boards with patience.
Not sure about this one though, because of the sand,. If you have to wait until the tiles stop falling to make a move, just makes the game pretty unenjoyable.
Think I'll pass on it, as no one shouild get frustrated playing games. Always felt these devs are in the mindset of 'play our way, or don't play at all.'
I recommend this game!

Loved everything about this game. Excellent HOS, different and interesting.
Very long, and lots of extra chapters too. SG helpful, as was the hint system.
Enjoyed the challenge, and although some hand holding, not as extreme as some games.
Music and graphics were excellent, and each scene had something different.
I recommend this game!

I really liked this game. Graphics were excellent, not too much hand holding, music was pleasant and storyline was easy to follow and not quite as silly as many are.
Loved the HOS; few of them but nicely interactive, some FROGS, some find 15 of this or that...I really dislike junkpile HOS, and this game had very few of those.
Puzzles were either quite easy, but enjoyable OR I couldn't understand the instructions so skipped. Some puzzles relied on you taking in all the characters, and their role in the game. I rarely follow stories that closely, so had to skip those.
There were collectables in each scene...and I don't know what I was collecting. Whatever they were they had wings!
Played advanced mode, no sparkles but fairly fast skip and hint refill.
I did have to use the SG, which at times opened at the scene I was in and at other times didn't. Fairly easy to follow, and I only got totally stuck in the game once. The map was mainly helpful, and you could jump to scenes with tasks to do. Hint system took you to the scene you needed too, so was mostly helpful.
We pay double for CEs, and I didn't think the bonus chapter was up to much. To start with a couple of HOS, and I thought "here we go" as there were more HOS in bonus chapter, than there were in the whole of the main game! With few exceptions, bonus chapters tend to be disappointing, and this one was too.
All in all a fun game, that took 5+ hours to finish, and I played to the end.
I recommend this game!

I'm basing this review on the trial hour. The time flew by as I was enjoying the game so much. Amazing graphics and special effects and non intrusive music.
The HOS (although pretty much usual interactive junk pile) has moving graphics and style is excellent. Easy to find what you need on the list too.
Three modes of play (I'm playing advanced) and can be changed during game play. Only collectables are gargoyles in each scene.
Puzzles are fairly unique, and quite difficult. Require a lot of patience which I haven't got. Even in advanced mode the puzzle skip renews fairly quickly.
Not overly spooky and scary, but critters you come across are really well done.
Quite linear in game play, and there is a map but I didn't find it very helpful. Hint system is more along the lines of 'I'm all done here', and there is some light hearted humour if you're doing things wrong. Built in SG as would be expected with a CE.
You can tell a lot of effort went into this game by the devs, and so far I'm loving every minute of it! They've made a genre of iHOGs, that is becoming a bit stale into something quite unique. The difficulty level is spot on, and from the outset you really have to search the scenes carefully to avoid missing anything...
I recommend this game!

Really in need of a new M3 game as good ones are few and far between, but this game wasn't it!
I got bored really quickly, as nothing to build or gain as you play each round. Each board was different which made the game a bit interesting, but the battle mode wasn't very good. Not sure if I won or not. I like the battles in M3s when each side takes it in turns to make moves, this game just seemed a bore and a nuisance when battles popped up and you can't skip them.
Could play relaxed mode which is always welcome, and I loved the Northern English voice over, which was really well done.
An ok game to while away a rainy afternoon; not awful and not great.
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed playing this game. It was cartoonish, with a cute bear called Barry for company.
Pretty bog standard HOS, nicely drawn.
Puzzles well put together, although nothing very challenging or different.
No collectables at all.
I played advanced mode, so no help from the map. Only needed to use SG once, as hint system extremely helpful.
Quit a bit of going back and forth in the game.
Don't think it will be everyones 'cup of tea'. Played it to the end and it took 4 hours with a couple of puzzle skips.
Cute storyline and not too many cut scenes.
A few too many HOS, hence the 4*.
Made a nice change from ghouls, gore and ghosts.
I recommend this game!

Have enjoyed others in this series, but for me this game didn't live up to expectations.
Collectables were hummingbirds and morphing objects (these appeared in every new scene). Customisable game modes, which is always appreciated.
Liked the theme, and music was in keeping with the Mayan locations.
Whole game including bonus scene took 4 hours, so not a long game. I didn't read the black bar tips, so don't know if there was too much guidance or not. I played customised mode, with quick hint and skip refill but no sparkles at all.
Puzzles were the 'same old' and very easy. Didn't need to skip any.
Graphics ok but nothing amazing, and quite fuzzy.
My bug bear was way too many HOS, and not overly interactive either (like HOG of yesteryear)...seemed game was consumed with HO and cut scenes! Too many of both. And for double the price of an SE, this CE had a less than stimulating or long bonus chapter.
Bought it hoping it would improve, but it didn't and I feel I wasted my money. Definitely worth getting the SE, especially with a PCC.
I don't recommend this game.

This game verged on awful, and not really up to CE standards. The HOS were ok with some interaction but on finding certain items they'd fly up into your face filling the screen.
Played advanced (middle) mode, and game took 4 hours with no skipping of puzzles.
The puzzles weren't bad, but nothing really new.
You find 4 leaf clovers in each scene, and hints increase if you find the crows that are dotted about.
The story was just silly.
Graphics weren't that great either, being quite fuzzy at times.
The most irritating bit was that on placing an item where it should be placed, you get loads of glowing white lights! If it doesn't fit you get a red skeleton hand.
Way to much hand holding, and nothing was left to the imagination. On finding a loose screw, narration says 'the screw is loose...'!
It was really dated, and very much like games of 5+ years ago.
Bought it as 50% off, and I hoped the game would improve but it didn't.
I don't recommend this game.
